Service was great. Really loved the French Onion Soup and Triple Decker Turkey Club was delicious. Ambiance was well suited for a pub.

After the beach in Madison we stopped by Donahue's for dinner. The interior is very pretty, there are so many family photos everywhere, the wood interior gives it a classy feel. There's a little stage, and a piano where local musicians perform. We were seated quickly, given waters and menus. Based off the menu, the seafood items are much pricier then everything else. My friend got the lobster roll and I got the Smoked Salmon Sandwich. Her lobster roll looked super fresh and tasty and it reminded me of when I devoured them on my trip to Maine. My Salmon Sandwich was a bit less exciting, but still tasty. It came with horseradish, lettuce, onion and tomato on Rye Bread, and a generous serving of salmon. This was tasty, but a bit dry. The service with water refills was a bit delayed. We had a nice time at Donahue's, I would return here for their chowder.

Came here last minute with a few friends to grab a bite to eat. Service was fast and friendly. Food was fresh and tasted great. Will come back in the future.

A Yelp search for area lunch spots led me to Donahue's. Yelp indicates Donahue's is an American and seafood restaurant, but they clearly have some Irish flair and influences as well. Case in point -- dishes like Fish and Chips and Shepherds Pie, and the sign in the bar that says "God invented whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the World." Sounds right. I didn't make it past the bar area, but I noted a nice dining room as well. Cool place. Lots of wood. Service was friendly and attentive. A definite selling point. I ordered clam chowder, an off menu Fish and Chips and fries oyster combo and a NEBCO Sea Hag. The Sea Hag tasted freshly tapped and was very carbonated. The chowder was good thick, creamy and loaded with clams and potatoes. In a first for me, the bartender asked if I wanted some Sherry poured on top. I responded yes if he recommended it. So he drizzled a bit on top and I swirled it in. Loved this chowder. Very tasty. In the top tier for CT for me. I also loved the fried oysters. They tasted very fresh and had good texture. The fried fish had a different vibe than I'm used to in a pub. I'm used to a well battered, thicker piece of fish. Donahue's coated theirs with Panko bread crumbs so that it was crispy. I'm not sure what fish they used and the menu doesn't say. It was a thin, white and mild fish that reminded me of tilapia. But I don't know. I prefer a more traditional pub style of Fish, but I can see how certain people might prefer this. The fries were pretty good. I was happy that I had the chance to visit Donahue's. I would eat there again if I was in the area. 4.25 Stars

Recently visited Donahue's Madison Beach Grille for the first time and I can't wait to go back. The restaurant was clean, the staff were friendly and the service and food were great. I ordered the cod piccata and the flavor was delicious! Additionally, the portion size was much larger than expected which was also a nice surprise. I look forward to going back and trying another item off the menu.

The best onion soup broth I have ever had. A delicious sweet warm taste that lingers in the palate.

Had a very good meal at Donahue's Madison Beach Grille on 1/19/2026. There was three in my party and we all had the same thing (onion soup and Atlantic Glazed Salmon). The food was delicious and the service was warm, pleasant, and attentive. These people care about what they are doing and it shows throughout the restaurant.

We ordered two lobster rolls, a chicken sandwich, fried clam strips, fried shrimp, and lobster nachos. This wasn't cheap (I didn't see the total as someone else paid). The chicken sandwich was basic but no one's there for the chicken haha. The fries were crispy, the clams were fresh and the shrimp was deliciously jumbo and lightly battered. The lobster rolls were ok, they didn't have much flavor even with the butter, but we were served good sized chunks so that was nice. The lobster nachos were more impressive to look at than to eat because it was basically cold lobster, a corn salsa, and dry tortilla chips. There's nothing else served other than a spritz of lime so the dish is pretty dry on its own. I would probably come again because it's a pretty view and it's BYOB, maybe get the lobster rolls, but I'd definitely come back for the jumbo shrimp!

The fried cod was some of the best I've ever had. Fish tacos were very good - love the red pepper remoulade it comes with. French fries and fried clam strips are both excellent - though I agree with another reviewer who mentioned that the clams could be a bit crispier. The two times we've gotten them, they needed just a touch more crunch and golden brown color. Still very good and the best around!!! But feels like they would benefit from a bit more time in the fryer. Glad you're back, Clam Castle!!

Just be warned-- before you shell out MP, what you are getting. Pro Tip: whole bellies do NOT have a "neck" like steamers do and this was clear as day a steamer. Clam shack staff confirmed when I held it up to inquire why they are frying steamers that this was, in fact, a steamer. And as a side note, fried steamers are terrible. They did reimburse for two orders however, won't return if this is what the kitchen/owner tries to serve! I guess the "clam" castle has shifted focus to lobster sandwich boats.
