    Breaded chicken wings.

Lately, I have been craving cheese steaks similar to the ones I have had during my visits to Philadelphia. It was suggested to me that I try The Deli at 700 from quite a few people, so I made my way there to give it a go. I called my order in, and the exchange I had with whomever answered the phone was fantastic. She was very polite and didn't mind answering the few questions I had. While I did not grab any pictures of the exterior or interior, I can state that the establishment is very well kept & clean. I ordered a steak sub (The 700) and breaded wings. The wings were fried beautifully! The steak sub was full of meat cheese and toppings. The bread they use was nice and soft but sturdy enough to hold up to the meat & toppings. I think it's great that there is a deli in this location offering tons of food options!

I was warmly welcomed and provided excellent service. I had a lot of questions and the person working was super helpful. It is nice and clean inside full of desserts, drinks, chips, and more. I got the chicken wings with sauce and they are breaded but I took a long ride home so they weren't as crispy as I'd like but that isn't their fault. I also got an 8" philly and it was so tasty and cheesy. They have an extensive menu and their pizza for slices looked delicious as well. I'd definitely go back and I go to the zoo frequently so it is close by.

On a triangular plot where South Geddes Street meets Grand Avenue sat a vacant gas station and boarded up Salvation Army thrift store for decades. Sam Deb and his cousin, Mado Abdel, grew up in the neighborhood and became tired of the eyesore. They also wished they had more dining options. The only places to eat within several blocks were were a Puerto Rican cafe and two corner stores that sold pizza and potato chips. After years of running convenience stores throughout Onondaga County, they decided to do something about it. The family bought the rotted out gas station and got to work on a serious makeover. They tore down every wall inside, hauled away truckloads of junk and rebuilt the facade and added 15 windows. They built a restaurant-grade kitchen, added drink coolers, a 12-foot deli counter and hot-food display. You can get breakfast all day (and night) here. You can start your day with a simple plate of bacon and eggs, or you can fill up with a Philly cheese omelette stuffed with seasoned steak, peppers, onions and mozzarella. They'll also make you a plate of oversized French toast with Texas toast or with cinnamon raisin bread. You can wash that down with one of three varieties of Paul deLima Coffee. For lunch and dinner, you might choose any one of their nine burgers or design your own. They serve pasta dishes such as ziti, riggies and stuffed shells. The traditional deli sandwiches and subs are built with Boar's Head cold cuts, cheeses and spreads. For the health-conscious customers out there, Sam and Mado placed seven salads on the menu, each of which can be customized. I grew up in the neighborhood where Deli at 700 opened. I don't get around there much anymore, but I love that someone decided to put something good into the neighborhood and reclaim this space that sat vacant forever. Recently I was down there visiting family so I decided to check it out. Its bright, modern and very nicely redone on the inside and out. Ordered a Italian and Turkey Club sub, along with a couple piece of cheesecake from another local business, Trita Treatz. The employees were extremely friendly, and both subs were great. Exactly what you want from a deli sub, proportions are plentiful and using Boar's Head meat is definitely a plus. Prices are comparable to other delis. Definitely recommend and will go again when I'm around.

It was cool seeing this place open up. I don't get local television anymore, but I have to assume they run local commercials - the ones where all the owners showcase their food with a series of quick cuts, ending with a dinging bell stock sound and a sparkling smile. This area is saturated with hole in the wall delis and corner stores. This one is the embodiment of what those other stores dreamed the experience would be, before getting absolutely taken down by whatever reality made them what they are today. At first glance, it's another place you can pop in for a sub, pizza, some breaded wings, cheese fries, potato wedges, a burger, you get it. My first question was Why, when the same food already exists 100 yards in either direction, and another dozen times within walking distance. 30 seconds into my first visit and the answer was pretty clear. They've solved the experience. You can now get your favorite hot and ready south side favorites from a place you don't have to be sad about going to. The owners are super personable, and there's an unshakable energy like they're actually glad to see you and excited to help you. A lot of days I tend to keep to myself when I'm out and avoid small talk, but these guys always have me talking to the point where I have my food in hand and still haven't left. The second time I came in was at least several months and god knows how many customers after the first, but they recognized me on sight and even asked me questions about stuff we talked about on my last visit. It would take a genuine effort not to warm up to these guys in the time it takes to place your order. The only thing I wouldn't come back here for is the pizza. It was normal, just didn't wow me enough to pull me away from my favorite places. I don't normally go for breaded wings, but these were good enough to give Midway a run for their money. They have whatever sauces you'd reasonably need, but we got sassy sauce on the side both times we ordered. They do the breading thick, but it's seasoned and stays tender even the next day. If you don't normally do breaded wings, try them here before you write them off. The cheesesteak is good, but second to the chopped cheese. I missed it the first time because it was in with the burgers on the menu. I had only just discovered these maybe months before coming here, and you don't really find them around Syracuse. It's the perfect middle ground between a Philly and a burger. Same mess of loose meat, but stuffed in there with the mixings of a burger. Ketchup, mustard, lettuce, etc. It's incredible, and they do it very well here. You won't regret stopping in for lunch or some easy take out. There's a lot of things I'm still looking forward to trying, but it's tough not to order the chopped cheese again with more breaded wings. Start there, and see how far you get. I hope these guys are doing well, they definitely deserve it.

I think the story about this business is amazing! I lived on Grand Ave years ago and this spot was an eyesore for years. A family who grew up in the area decided to buy it and fix it up and opened a deli for the neighborhood where restaurants are slim. The outside is clean and modern looking and the inside is clean and bright. They have a couple of tables and my friend and I had lunch at one of the tables. We were cheerfully greeted by the Owner and his cousin and we both decided to get the cheeseburger sub with all the fixings (lettuce, tomatoes, mayo). The sub roll was delicious not too heavy ( I hate it when the bread overwhelms the sandwich). The cheeseburger was all chopped up and covered in cheese and I've never had anything like it. The owner several times thanked us for coming in and it was very genuine. I will definitely be back when in the area to try something else.

I saw other posts on a local FB page so I had to try this new Deli. I know I will be back, so I decided to try a cold sub on my first trip. I ordered the Italian 12". They use Boar's head cold cuts, and I am a big fan, so I knew the quality would be great. It's not what I would consider an "Italian " sub with just salami, ham and provolone.....but no complaints from me because it was excellent. The sub roll (from Harrison Bakery, I think) was very fresh. All the veggies in the case looked super fresh and I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, onion, banana peppers, light mayo, light oil and grated parmesan cheese. Ashley was so efficient behind the counter, and was so friendly answering my questions. I met the owner, Ahmad, who was also really nice to talk with and I have such a good feeling about this place, it feels like he is doing everything right. Great location, beautiful, clean business, great quality products. It's mostly take out, but there are a few tables to dine in. I am looking forward to my next visit and trying one of his hot items.

Really great initiative opening this on the west side. It's been a hot commodity since opening. Owner and staff are really nice. They have a huge menu and offer Boar's Head meats. You could stop in for any meal of the day and finish it off with dessert from Trita's Treatz, another local business. I tried the Philly cheesesteak. It was delicious. I gotta get a 12" next time. Not too pricey either, fair in my opinion. They get quite the lunch rush and will have to work on managing orders as they tend to get backed up.

Pastrami sub, 700 Philly, fries, onion rings.

Very inviting space with snacks, drinks, desserts, and some hot foods on display. Order next to sandwich counter - everything kept tidy and brightly lit. Ordered the 700 Philly, pastrami sub, onion rings, french fries, and sweet and sour breaded wings. Everything was very reasonably priced. Pastrami was sliced to order, sandwich toppings were fresh and plenty of options. Both sandwiches were very good, made with pride and for good reason. Wings were sticky and delicious and sides were perfect. Will be back.

The place was bustling, all seats taken, people standing waiting on their order, and others dashing in for their carry out orders. There's good reason for that, the food, the coffee, the service, the vibe was all excellent. Inside is clean, simply decorated, and everything from the food to the kitchen is visible. It's simply part of the decor. We purchased some bagels from the previous day, some breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The coffee was bold, rich and fresh. The bagels delicious, all of the sandwich parts cooked to perfection. There's a friendly, warm vibe inside that extends from the staff and is entrenched in the food and coffee. Just a fantastic place for bagels and, I have to admit, NY bagels are next level. If you're in Syracuse, I highly recommend you make sure you make Water Street Bagel one of your stops.

The staff always seem to be hard at work as they are clearly in high demand. We were lucky this visit because all of the bagels were super fresh as it was peak busy hours. We also were lucky because we actually found parking quite quickly & didn't have to circle the block. I appreciate they offer sandwich options but I usually stick with a bagel & some form of cream cheese for myself because that's just usually my preference. This visit I got a rosemary salt bagel with salmon cream cheese. It was simple & perfectly what I was looking for that day. It's a beautiful space that is well lit & well decorated. It's easy to find them with their sign out front. It can get a bit crowded inside if they're busy but that's nothing to complain about it's just the reality of the space they are working with. Last note- it does always smell really amazing when you walk in there.
