The Deli At 8236 is still... A hole in the wall slinging out a mighty tasty sandwich! I rolled in, ordered The Toscana from a friendly cashier, waited for a few minutes then drove down to the lake to enjoy it. The Toscana had prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, roasted peppers, balsamic & oregano on a hoagie. We subbed the prosciutto for soprosetto and asked for all the fixings that they put on their regular sandwiches (lettuce, onion, oil, etc.). Im from New Jersey, right outside of Philly, pretty much smack dab in the Italian capital of the USA. I was on a bachelorette last week and we wanted a quick breakfast before our adventure for the day. Imagine my absolute shock finding a deli in the middle of nowhere (to me at least) that had PORK ROLL and PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS. Felt right at home. Updated Review - I've always liked this sandwich shop in Nederland -- great people, good service, and solid sandwiches. I previously mentioned that the deli case needed attention because I saw some old coleslaw that had fallen through the grates. It might've just been a timing issue while they were getting ready to clean, but I wanted to follow up with an update. I stopped in recently, and I'm happy to say the deli case looked spotless. Everything was fresh, clean, and well-organized. It's clear they put in the effort, and I really appreciate that. Still great folks, great sandwiches, and now the place looks even better than before. This is as no frills as it gets. Nothing fancy or polished here. Home to old school, sloppy sandwiches to revive you after a hard day's night. The Deli at 8236 (elevation) is nestled along Nederland's main street. On a weekend, it's packed. They have seating, but mostly no one is there to dine in. It's predominantly used as a waiting room. I can see lines and ticket times going over the desired amount (ours was 10 minutes late), but ultimately you're armed with big ole sandwiches in tow. Spicy Chicken Parm ($13) // Chicken cutlets, mozzarella, parmesan, pepperoni, hot giardinerra. This thing was messy, but boy it packed a serious punch. The spicy peppers cut through the richness of the salty pepperoni and chicken cutlets. I felt like embracing my Italian American background and this hit the spot. *PRO TIP* take your sandwich downstairs and you'll find some underutilized picnic benches. My wife and I enjoyed our sandwiches looking at the mountains and listening to the creek. Our pups appreciated the space to roam without a huge hovering crowd. Recently went to Nederland and was looking for a quick bite to eat while out there. Stumbled onto The Deli off of First Street while walking around and wow, so glad I did! Got the cheesesteak sando and classic turkey press. This place is super cute and continent located right in the center of Ned's First Street. The cheesesteak is served on a fluffy roll and is the perfect cheese-to-meat-to-everything-else ratio (the onions and mushrooms rock too). Stopped at this small deli at random while passing through town, totally unaware that we were about to have the best sandwiches of our life. Husband ordered the chicken parm while I selected the Athena. This was on day 3 of a fairly romantic honeymoon trip through Colorado, yet I moaned more while eating that sandwich than I had for the entire trip to that point. (Sorry babe.) I don't have a lot to say other than that this place makes consistently delicious sandwiches from fresh ingredients. My favorite is the mozzarella fresca and my husband enjoys the Chicago beef. A great place for a quick lunch, though less good for dinner as they aren't open very late, particularly on weekdays. read more

Advice: Go where the locals eat... yup EVERY TIME! This small deli served great subs with high quality ingredients. We had a Turkey Press, a Cheesesteak Hoagie, and a New England Clam Chowder. I was up in the mountains today and stopped by for lunch after checking reviews for this place which were very good for the most part. Service was good. The interior of the restaurant was decent, but dated. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak to go. Just to let you know, I am very picky about bread. Unfortunately, my sandwich did not have very good bread. But, I think that most folks would be happy with the bread here. It's a very typical soft loaf, like what you might find at the supermarket. I'm not trying to be mean, just giving you my honest opinion. If you've gone here and like their sandwiches, more power to ya! read more

Stopped in for lunch after a morning hike. After reading the reviews and seeing the pictures other yelpers posted, we were exited for a quick sandwich. They have both hot and cold sandwiches listed, we opted for the philly and french dip. With only a few people ahead of us in line, we weren't expecting a long wait. I'm sure we caught them at a bad time, but it was at least half an hour before we got our sandwiches and seemed at some point that they forgot about us. Three have several tables lined up against the wall and we snagged one in the back while waiting. When we finally got our sandwich, they were decently warm. Do you love sandwiches? You should eat here. I've been here a few times, but was really inspired after a trip last week to share the love. My Cuban was AMAZING. Hot and crusty without being greasy, it was perfectly toasted and the fresh meats and cheese make a huge difference. The staff person was really helpful as I tried to make up my mind about lunch (everything sounded delicious). He even gave us advice about other places to check out in town. The Deli is a great place to stop during events in Ned, after ski days at Eldora, or whenever you just really want a good sandwich from cool people. read more

I had the steak(beef) and cheddar sandwich up here during Frozen Dead Guy Days. The staff did a very good job at cranking out good quality sandwiches in a timely fashion despite the large crowd that was here for the event. My sandwich was delicious and the brownie I had equally so! Despite the small restaurant being busy there always seemed to be someone there to ask me if I needed anything else. Very well managed! I went by another restaurant that I was considering but the line was out the door! Here at Bella's I was able to get a seat and enjoy my lunch! We went with the turkey sandwich and added cheese, all kinds of toppings and a spread. These sandwiches were very tasty and all the veggies on the sandwich were so fresh. Their baked goods looked so inviting especially the cinnamon rolls. I will have to come back! Service was efficient and helpful. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when they are busy. It was the perfect stop before entering the park!
