The place itself is worth stopping for all on its own. It's located in three old train cars, including a caboose, which gives it a really fun, eclectic Colorado mountain-town vibe. It's super easy to get to, right off Highway 119, and it immediately feels like the kind of unique little place you hope to discover on a day trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. My wife and I both ordered cortados, and they were excellent, especially if you enjoy a bold espresso. Rich, smooth, and exactly what we were hoping for. We also ordered a half dozen of the a la minute homemade mini bacon maple doughnuts, and honestly, they were amazing. Warm, fresh, sweet, salty, and completely addictive. I can say with absolute confidence that if I find myself back at Train Cars Coffee again, I'm ordering the full dozen. Between the friendly staff, the bold coffee, the train car setting, and those incredible little doughnuts, this was one of those memorable stops that turns a simple drive into a really enjoyable adventure.
