This place has really fallen off since the new owners took over. Everything has skyrocketed in price due to them spending obscene amounts of money gentrifying the place. They might tell you these price increases are "due to inflation," but the truth is these price increases far outpace the inflation rate. I'm glad they have kept the sandwich recipes the same but it is really the only remaining positive of a former local gem. read more

What a wonderful place to start grab a sack lunch and head into Estes Park! This quaint locally run market and deli pays attention to every detail. Food allergies they have you covered bread, lover they have you covered want to make a charcuterie board for the cabin, they've got that too! I ended up getting a hotel in Lyons on my trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. My hotel had a kitchen, so I decided to be budget friendly on this trip and cook my dinners instead of eating out every meal. While exploring the downtown area, I came across this market and did some grocery shopping. St. Vrain Market, Deli & Bakery is a charming little store that has about anything you need. Stopped by for some lunch sandwiches driving a drive up to the mountains. Places start to get limited! This area is so convenient right off the road, and yelp told me it was a solid spot. Very cute local grocery store with prepared deli options. So, this was a case of ordering wrong in terms of "now I know." If there is every a time I'm in the area again (doubtful), I think our selections could be made better with some tweaks: THE BLTA on baguette - GET UNTOASTED. I had no idea it was going to be toasted to hell. It was that so toasted it was kind of painful to bite into - ya know? I was so looking forward to that great chewy baguette taste. I know BLTs are traditionally toasted, I dont get enough of them. At the very least, ask for LIGHTLY toasted. California - my mistake to say to put dijon mustard on it. Glops of mustard on BOTH SIDES. I think this is true of most places making your sandwiches. I'd get condiments on the side. It felt like if you doused something with salt to make it inedible. Even trying to wipe it off with a napkin couldnt help. Cookie was delicious but what's with the upsell on getting a snickerdoodle, etc? It just wasnt a very satisfying meal and made me feel to blame. Long time supporters of the St. Vrain Market. Under new ownership, some things are changing while other remain the same. New POS system makes checking out that much easier. Yet the bakery good offerings have stayed the same (thank goodness). They are now part of a co-op working to lower food prices. Stopped by this small, but very accommodating market on the way to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Lots of "goodies" in the market; very welcoming feel. Lots of healthy items from which to choose as well. The tour company we were with purchased our sandwiches from the market for our "pic-nic lunch." Dangerous Negligence with Food Labeling St. Vrain Market failed my family. My son had a severe anaphylactic allergic reaction to their cookie dough, which did not list egg as an ingredient--despite egg being a top allergen and standard for food labeling. He ended up in the ER, endured projectile vomiting, hives, labored breathing, anxiety, and five days of a steroid treatment. St. Vrain Market never notified the public of this dangerous oversight. No recall, no warning to protect others. When I tried to pursue accountability on behalf of my young child, I was told by local health officials that they had "learned their lesson and would be ordering labels"-- as if that solves the hard time my family went through on their ignorant account. Our family is traumatized. As a mother, it was very hard to watch my baby struggle over my mistake in trusting St. Vrain Market. We will never return to St. Vrain Market and I urge anyone with food allergies to not trust their labeling, no matter what steps they claim to have taken. This was not a simple mistake--it was negligence with life-threatening consequences. read more

Stopped by here for a quick snack in Lyons. We tried the cherry Garcia cookie and the cheddar biscuit. Super delicious. The store was clean and definitely operates like small supermarket selling local goods. The deli has a yummy looking sandwich menu. read more

After perusing the other comments people have left under this market, I realized how unoriginal it was for my friend and me to stop here before we ventured towards Longs. But alas, the sandwiches were memorable enough for that trip of ours to have occurred on 12/20/23, and I'm still yelping about the toasty sourdough that delivered to my mouth flavors I will always strive to but never quite recreate. Cute store and I love to support independent businesses. But the $11 sandwich we purchased to go was made on stale bread with the minimum amount of turkey. We were counting on it to nourish us over the course of our RMNP visit. What a disappointment when we unwrapped it at the midpoint of our hike. Skimpy and not very good. What are you going to do at that point? Also when we visited the market, the restroom was out of toilet paper, and given the number of people working at the market, that seemed avoidable. read more

Cute little market with healthy grocery options and a deli to grab lunch in Lyons. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I love that they have healthy snack options - can grab some favorites that are usually found in a place like Whole Foods. Sandwich was made fast, good sized portion. I'm dinging one star (I'd do half if I could) for the sourdough bread. As a deli and bakery, this sourdough was more like wonder bread... Soft, mushy, and hardly any crust. More like something one can get pre-sliced in a bag from a grocery store than a fresh bakery... I was kinda hoping for that super crunchy crust with light and airy and chewy center, more of the artisanal/rustic style one could expect from a freshly baked bread. Maybe choose a different bread option than sourdough for your sandwich... Aside from that, sandwich ingredients were fresh (crisp lettuce, non-soggy tomatoes, etc.) plentiful and delicious. Lots of good going on here! If you want a large, old fashioned deli sandwich made with fresh bread and quality ingredients, stop here! And the bakery? I'm sure all the bread is good but I cannot get past the cinnamon rolls and hand pies! Both are so good I cannot try anything else. If you are looking for a quick, easy, filling dinner and don't want to do any work, stop in and buy a house made, ready to bake chicken pot pie. The crust is worth it alone and it's made with red bird farms chicken. Again, all quality ingredients. read more

Wonderful establishment with a variety of grocery items and excellent breads. We had a sour dough from here that was just excellent and also some delicious burger buns. Friendly staff! Some local merchandise including souvenir mugs, hats and shirts. Great place to stop before heading to RMNP. They also have an excellent, super clean bathroom! Highly recommend stopping, picking up some breads and snacks and using the bathroom here instead of using the gross park bathrooms. read more

I stopped in this market in my way to Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park, and was impressed by the inviting atmosphere, reflected both in their outdoor seating and the beautiful murals decorating the inside walls of the market. I bought a loaf of their in-house freshly baked sourdough bread, and I can attest how hefty and flavorful and very reasonably priced their bread is. They offer sandwiches and salads and refreshments that you can enjoy in their outside seating, and parking in the street is free for two hours. read more

What a lovely surprise! My boyfriend and I made our way to Estes Park and decided to stop for their bagged lunch (a sandwich, chips/apple, and a cookie). He ordered the Santa Fe (the sauce they used was the best part - other than that, it was a typical turkey & cheddar sandwich) and I had The Volunteer sandwich on a croissant (DELICIOUS!). I heard this place was good. They are. The smell was so welcoming walking in! A little too hyped (someone said it was the best chocolate croissants outside of Europe), but still definitely worth buying!! What a lucky find on our drive back to Denver Airport from Estes Park! We stopped for lunch and happened upon this little grocery/deli. It reminded us of our pit stops at Oakville Grocery in the California wine country. The BEST sandwiches made to order we've ever had (each of us tried something different on the menu, and everyone agreed they were the best ever) and a unique assortment of homemade deli items and drinks that popped up in the middle of (what seemed like) nowhere. Giving this a lower ranking, as, in the two plus years I've frequented this place, about one out of four times I've ordereda salad, they've forgotten my order, so I'm there for 20+ minutes watching other customers go by with their orders and I need to remind them. Also, they're inconsistent about when their deli (best feature) has been available toward closing: sometimes it stops 30 or minutesor minutes before the actual store closes, sometimes not. Also, for the health-conscious, why not some more low-carb options? Difficult to eat/buy healthy here. Great staff, nearly always though, and generally friendly service. Would sort of recommend (it's the only option) although maybe more stores are needed for Lyons, as competition forces so-so options to be that much better. read more

Love this place. Their sandwiches are totally delicious their baked goods fantastic. I rarely come here for anything but sandwiches but noticed their grocery prices seemed mostly fair. Small grocery/meat market, but what they lack in size they more than make up for in quality products. I have driven by this place for years, and stopped in on the recommendation of friends in Estes. Their meat is top notch, just as good if not better than other butchers in the flatlands. They have good artisan bread, pies, and pastries. They have delicious handmade sandwiches we all enjoyed one day during a hike in the Park. They have a small amount of produce, other goods, and household items, but the star is their meat. My only suggestion is to try and hit them at an off time. You'll wait for a while if you arrive right during the lunch crowd or on the weekend. Still, it's worth the wait. read more

Excellent service. We stopped today on our way to the park for some groceries; we needed flour but not a bag full. We grabbed some fresh produce and asked if there were smaller bags of flour - the St Vrain staff put a few cups into a to-go container and added it to our bag at no charge. Good place to stock up on some treats and a bite to eat for a hike! It has a nice little grocery store too, with some nice healthy and local options,which I always appreciate. We got the breakfast burritos since they were the most affordable item on the menu ($5), but they came from a package. Unfortunately, really weren't that great for the price. In the future, I'd like to try the breakfast sandwiches, but they were out since I was there in the afternoon. read more

I gotta update my review for these guys. So their sandwiches are good and lovely for a stop in. But the rest of the market...IS SO STINKING EXPENSIVE. And when you live where I do- in the middle of BFE and this is the closest market, its painful. Let me provide some examples: my dad bought cereal and milk here. It was $10!! I got a bottle of salsa in a pinch: $6!! I feel as a market they would get more business if their prices were a little more reasonable. I understand they may have to charge more than a big box store obviously. For sandwiches, all the way. For groceries, you might want to look elsewhere! read more
