Frustrated, I started searching for an independent dentist and discovered Gies. I've been a patient here for years now, and I can confidently say I trust Dr. Gies completely. Yes, it's a business, but he genuinely cares about his clients. He takes his time and doesn't make you feel like he's just rushing to get away from you. His staff is warm, welcoming, and always greets you with a smile. The office is consistently clean and well-organized. If you're looking for an honest, trustworthy dentist, look no further. I actually look forward to my routine cleanings, and I plan to keep coming here for the foreseeable future.

While I received them, he seemed to have a hard time getting the compound to stay. It also seems he missed a broken tooth, because he recommended a get it filled also, but when the compound broke off and I went in to get it replaced, he said the tooth was actually broken in half and needed additional work. I have since started seeing a new dentist, who found the weak fillings and replaced them for me, and I've had no problems so far.

On 21 May 2026 I called Brident Dental to confirm my appointment and spoke to Lee and she advised that the appointment time had changed from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. (No one from Brident Dental called me with this time change, I had just called to confirm my appointment when notified of the time change.) Lee confirmed the address to be 8803 SH 151 W Suite 106 San Antonio TX 78251. On 22 May 2026 I had issues locating this Brident Dental at 8803 SH 151 W Suite 106 San Antonio TX 78251 and as I was driving I called and spoke to an employee who only knew it was by McDonalds and could not give me any street or intersection names and told me to call back and speak to someone else who may know. Each time one calls it is a process to speak to someone. I called back again and a young lady was able to get me to the Brident dental office. I walked up to the door and the Brident Dental office was closed. I called back and spoke to John. He advised that this office was closed on the day of my appointment while also confirming that I had an appointment this day at this office. He rescheduled my appointment for this office at 8803 SH 151 W Suite 106 San Antonio TX 78251 for Friday, 29 May 2026. On 24 May 2026, I received a text message from Brident Dental advising that I missed my dental appointment on 22 May 2026. The original appointment I had with Brident Dental approximately 6 months ago was at 6700 S Flores St, San Antonio, TX 78221. This is not the most sanitary dental office. I was told if I did a review that I would be sent a free whitening kit which was NEVER done. The tech would switch the lights on and off then take Xrays and then put her hand in my mouth after touching the light switch and Xray machine.

Some of us actually show up to work on time and had to take off for this appointment. Disrespectful of my time. That's definitely not going to be her dentist provider. I feel so bad for another customer just waiting outside as well.

I am deadly afraid of the dentist, always have been... but Dr. Lannom and Jasmin made my visit the absolute most comfortable it could be. I actually feel a little silly for being so nervous before hand. Excellent service and bed side manner. Amazing team, amazing dentistry and I'm so so so happy I came here! My new dentist for life!

I was once very pleased with this office because of their schedule and flexible payment plans…read more However, when I went in today for my crown I was told that I had an additional $800 payment because I had a year long waiting period. I was very confused because when I went in for the initial appointment for pain I was given a treatment plan it did not reflect that. After being in the dental field 10 years I completely understand that insurance will pay less sometimes but they are firm on waiting periods. I told the girl as much and she said that unfortunately the treatment coordinator who presented my treatment was no longer employed there and could not ask her why she quoted me that when there were notes all over my account. The manager Carrie (I may not be spelling that correctly) then stepped in and said that unfortunately this was my balance and they could not see me if I did not pay but could reschedule for when I could pay. I told her that this was not my fault and should not be responsible to pay anything more than I already am paying (I'm on a payment plan) because I couldn't afford to pay that. She then said something along the lines of "well ma'am you should know your benefits" and then I got upset. At this point I let her know about my dental background and while an estimate can change the waiting period is a simple yes or no question and also I am not paid to know my benefits they are. She then went and got Kevin who tried to tell me that the office manager was out and not back until Tuesday (very convenient) could not make me any deal or discount until they spoke. They also, without my consent tried to get me on another payment plan for the $800 meaning another monthly payment but couldn't do that because I would not have been approved for more funds. I then again restated my issue with being charged more because of a waiting period. Kevin then tried to tell me that when you verify the benefits the first time you don't get the full benefits. I then told Kevin about the last 10 years of my working experience that included verifying insurance for 7 of them. I'm not sure if he meant it condescendingly but that's how I took it when he asked "oh so you've verified dental benefits before?" So I know that is absolutely incorrect. You get the benefits and it is NOT A GUARANTEE OF PAYMENT but a waiting period is crystal clear. Being a corporate office and having worked at one I understood him or who I thought was the office manager Carrie could not make any discounts without authorization but to have to wait a week to hear back if I was getting a discount and then to have to wait another week to be paid was not ideal with a temporary crown. He then said if I wanted to wait I could and they would try and make some calls. I waited because I do not live in San Antonio I live about 35 minutes south. When he came back they offered me a 50% discount. I thankfully was able to pay it today and when I let them know I could pay, Carrie said "okay, I am just going to document so that the discount is here and when you come back it will be here" I then asked "so I can't be seen today?" And she shook her head no. I then told her that I would not be paying anything until I came back to get the crown and then she said "oh so you can pay today?" so I told her "that's what I said, I can pay the $400" so she proceeded to take my payment and although she started her sentences with "I apologize " there was never a real apology or any sense of understanding. This was also an appointment that was supposed to happen a month ago and when I called to reschedule had I been notified I would have been prepared, but to have to walk into the office after driving 35 minutes and basically hear "pay us or get out" I'm sure you can understand why I am upset. So.. if you are like me who's only fault was "not knowing my benefits" I suggest you find out your own benefits because when there is an issue that is where they will try to place the blame. Have a great day and please do not let these people take advantage of anyone else financially or otherwise.
