We stopped in for a snack between lunch and dinner because we had been meaning to come here so many times. I'm so glad we did! Our server, Dixie, was so friendly, helpful, and cheerful she made us feel right at home. The special was shrimp po'boy sandwich and it was beautiful. My son did not even offer to share, but I insisted on a bite (we were supposed to be having a snack :-) ) The building is unique, interesting, and clean! The food here is very delicious! I LOVE the pretzels and the wings are amazing! The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food takes around 30 minutes (gives enough chit chat time). The place itself is very nice, it's been there long since I moved in 2018, it's been good. It has a southern fancy vibe to it. But the reason that I put 3 stars is because when me and some friends were getting ready to eat, a German roach crawled over my plate! I've never been to Micanopy before, and I was looking for a table service restaurant with outdoor seating to accommodate my Covid concerns. Thankfully, this restaurant offers patio seating, so no worries there. I will mention, though, that this appears to be a maskless establishment. The server who attended me was not wearing a mask, whether outdoors or indoors. I was sitting outside snd im vaccinated, so it wasn't too much of an issue for me. However, if you're wanting to go to a restaurant where the staff wears masks, then this isn't the place for you. In terms of service, the server was actually quite friendly and knowledgeable with respect to the menu. So the service was great, no complaints there. One of the things that did disappoint me was that they only had one burger on the menu. For a restaurant that is a sports bar and grill, that one was a shocker to me. I expected to find at least two or three burger options on the menu. I only found one. They've also got several pizza options and even a T-bone steak, so the menu is a little diverse in that respect. However, I would've liked to have seen more than one burger option on the menu. When I got the burger, I was a bit underwhelmed. The burger was good, but it wasn't great. It felt like it was under-seasoned. Again, the burger was still good, but I felt like it could've been even better. I found one of their best offerings to be their breaded shrimp basket. Those shrimp are absolutely delicious! I should also mention that they make fantastic fries, which is not something that every restaurant gets right. Their beer selection is really good. I had a mango wheat ale which went down quite nicely. Very soft and smooth. So they do have great drink offerings. Overall, I found it to be a decent restaurant if you're wanting a casual table service experience in the area. I'll recommend it for dining, but I'd steer clear of the like burger that they offer. We happened upon this little joint with a couple dead phones and empty bellies. We were so pleased with wandering into this wonderful place! A hole in the wall that is SO worth the visit. Hamburger bun was stale. Burger itself was good. Onion rings were very good. Husband had wings- a bit dry. Not a great selection of sauces. We went to watch sports (Sports Bar). Only 2 of the 4 TVs were working. And they were at the opposite ends of the restaurant, so you turned to the right & looked into other room at distant wall, or looked to the left over people's shoulders to see the football game. The TVs at the bar did not work. No specials on beer during football games. No Miller Lite either. Owner should invest in some smart TVs & some hi top tables to watch the games. I was looking for a place to meet between Ocala and Gainesville and happened to find this place on Yelp. The reviews were pretty good so I thought I would give it a try. I called first to make sure they were open. The young man answering the phone was very polite and friendly. Good start! Upon arriving we found a cute old fashioned train depot site that must've been quite busy in its heyday. We didn't take time to visit the gift shop but will do that on our next visit. Walking in we were greeted by a friendly hostess. The place wasn't super busy so we were seated immediately. They usually have live music outside but the weather wasn't great. Service was immediate so we ordered drinks while waiting for our friends. The beer was cold and they had a full bar with a good selection of beers. Not a lot but enough to cover just about anyone's taste. When our friends arrived we ordered the fried ravioli. It was crispy and a perfect portion for four. Our dinners consisted of pizza, a calzone, and the special of the evening which was stuffed shells. When the food arrived we were very impressed. The pizza had all fresh ingredients, nothing canned. The calzone was stuffed with filling, was puffed up and cooked to a golden brown. The outside was crunchy and flaky. The stuffed shells were delicious and the sauce was perfect. We were in no hurry, and they didn't rush us. We laughed, chatted, and ate our perfect meal. Saving room for dessert, we had the cannolis and a to-die-for spumoni ice cream ball surrounded by a delicious frozen chocolate covering. What made our experience so perfect was the fact that the staff and maybe the owner? really cared about our food, our comfort, and our visit. They went out of their way to make sure every item we were served was perfect. I will be going back. Thank you Depot for a great evening! read more

Nice renovation and reuse of an old train depot. Greeted at the door by the waitress/ bartender. She showed us around the small bar, and the two adjacent dining rooms, one is proposed to house a pool table with several tables the other has several booths and some high top seating. We tried the pizza one size only , it was nice good dough and fresh toppings very well priced. Next time we will both order one. When we arrived there was only one other table of 4 but by the time we ordered and finished our pizza the place was pretty busy with roughly 25 other patrons. The waitress was doing great everyone was being helped pizzas flying out of he kitchen wine was flowing. Even the two kids in high chairs seemed to enjoying theirselves. Hope they do well I will drive back from Leesburg to check in on them next trip to Gainesville. read more

The meat in the Philly cheese steak tasted old and there wasn't much if it-mostly peppers, onions and bread. The meatball sub had only 2 meatballs sliced on a huge bun. I can't even tell you what the sauce was like because there was very little of it. If you want a plate full of half cooked fries and bread this is your place. Went there Friday night because a band I like was playing there. 5 people at our table. After being ignored for 20 minutes I flagged down a waitress and we managed to order. 3 of us ordered dinner. Over the next hour they brought our food, first my sister, then 20 minutes later mine came out, and then they said it would be another 20 minutes for my wife's order. When we complained to the owner she said "well you just don't understand what it's like to run a restaurant ". Evidently she doesn't either. Gorgeous bar--- the old wooden floors, walls, & ceilings. Aestetically beautiful w/ its yesteryear charm. Space to dance. The Olympics were playing on TVs over the bar area. Multiple types of seating. Clean bathrooms. Friendly staff. Great place to hang after eating dinner next door or eat finger foods here. There's outside seating on the train platform. Ordered a sub sandwich, no cooking involved. Waited over 42 minutes and finally asked for my money back. They refused and tried to make excuses that it was very busy . Only 8 people in the whole place. I pointed out that the gentlemen with burgers and fries in the back came in after I ordered, and a customer at the bar ordered directly after me and had her pizza for approximately 20 minutes while I was still waiting. It magically appeared and there was tomato and cheese all over the box, but most ingredients had fallen out of the sub. Obviously was prepared very rapidly. i really have no idea what happened to this place. super disappointing. we had a fantastic time here a couple months ago. the gentleman bartender at the time was knowledgeable on drinks, local food, and offerings from in-state breweries. there seemed to be a very young girl training under another competent female bartender who couldn't quite grasp the fact you need to talk to customers or be, i don't know, personable?? also, it's probably a good idea if you don't visibly look at your seated customers enjoying a drink, point at them and then whisper to your other coworker and patrons at the bar: you just appear catty and rude. and you've cost the bartender training you a decent tip. this place has now implemented an 18% mandatory gratuity. i've been in food and beverage for 20 years and i have always tipped 30% plus, sometimes even more given the monetary losses during the pandemic. now they just get 18% flat and a poor review for rude service. my advice would be to not hire the nasty young one in training if you'd ever like for people to return. it may be high season here in horse county, but you can't treat your neighbors this way without suffering on the future slower nights. read more

The owner Antonio is always pleasant and the bartenders/waitstaff have been too. His wife on the other hand is standoff ish and sulky at best. We were there to see a band and buy dinner and drinks. We have kids and so did the other 3 families from our McIntosh neighborhood who were there. We all spent money. She clearly dislikes children, as she griped at them for not wearing shoes while playing in the grass outside and leaning over to tell them to close the door every chance she got as they went between eating the food we paid for and playing w other kids outside. She doesn't know me, but I stood only feet away from her while she complained to a complete stranger about how she felt about the inconvenience of having kids in her establishment. Unfortunately we found out she even refused to pay the band (after they finished the entire gig). We will go elsewhere. read more
