Prior to Archie's; We spent our Saturday on the motorcycle and ventured out to Williston and Kirby Farms "corn-dog" festival... it was okay. (Fair) We decided on lunch and every place we visited was either closed down or full. Then we remembered passing Archie's wood fired Pizza on Hwy 27 in the past. So we paid them a visit and I'm certainly glad we did. We settled on the chicken-spinach Alfredo pizza, and it was AWESOME. The atmosphere is nice, outdoor sitting, and the weather was beautiful. They do have a nice area with games such as corn hole. They have a decent beer and wine list now the pizza itself was OK. The cross reminded me of a frozen crust base and for woodfired pizza. There was no bubbles and the crust was really very white. It is the only way little pizza place short of your nationwide, such as dominoes and Pizza Hut. All alone it's served of the need that time. read more

Have seen the sign on the side of the road but always in a hurry and would say need to check this pizza joint out. Today was the day as they are open mostly weekend days. Not what I was expecting at all. The highway keeps this Shangri-La pretty well hidden. Walking up you enter a garden of sorts and (today) yacht rock playing on the sound system. Michael McDonald, America songs to name a few . Wood-fire pizza is actually part of a food truck type of set up. Pizza's are super thin crust and really a personal pan size . We ordered 2 pies , teas and chocolate chip cookies . Food out super quick . Seating area is very cozy and loaded with tree coverage. Pizza was piping hot and really good. No leftovers! I have had take out from Archie's before but this was my first 'dine-in' experience, which is actually dining out because the whole venue is outdoors. Set in a slightly wooded enclave, is this little food truck with bar truck/cart and plenty of picnic table style seating. It's a bit like you're camping! I love the vibe. We sat at the bar truck, where you can place an order for food with the bartender (otherwise you stand in line and order at the food truck, get a buzzer, pick a table and wait for you pizza to arrive). There were 3 people working the bar, all of whom were jolly and attentive. We ordered a round of drinks and a garlic cheese flatbread for an app (half without cheese as one of the girls doesn't eat cheese). They also happily brought us marinara and ranch to dip. The main attractions arrived. We got a margarita, the garlic chicken Alfredo and the 'smoke stack' which is the monthly special. This month it's bacon with spinach and mushrooms with a white sauce and drizzle of pepper jelly. Crust is outstanding, thin but not too crispy. Not soggy from to much sauce and the flavors were on par. The wood fire oven makes a huge difference. I could have gone back the next night for more this husband-wife duo make a great pizza making team! Make sure you save room for the famous ice cream sandwiches. They are huge and the cookies are all different and the ice cream is soft. Easy to eat with the ice cream headache!! read more

When someone sees a sign on the side of the road, is it not human nature to simply wonder what it is? When one sees a wagonwheel in the shape of a pizza beckoning my group to see whats up... we have to. The food was pretty solid. The pizza was a little soft... and small... but yknow, still tasted very solid. Service was really quick, I only ended up waiting about 2-3ish minutes, so I was really pleased. Just grabbed two pizzas for takeout, they were delicious. The service is super friendly too. Definitely want to come back and eat in the courtyard, it looks like a really cool place to hang out with friends and enjoy a nice meal and drinks. What's not to like? The owners and people working there have always been great. I wish they offered more than just pizza. Sides and salads. They have a nice selection of beer, wine, ciders. The pizzas are thin crust, which I love, but they are a bit overpriced for the size. They are a one person pizza. It is $3 extra for the cauliflower crust. The pizzas and flat breads are delish! The orange and strawberry cider was also very yummy - not sweet, more on the tart side. Outdoor seating, laidback atmosphere, there's corn hole, space heaters for cooler nights, and cute string lights all over. A nice spot to hit for a casual pizza night out. Although it's nice to eat outside, it's a food truck with picnic tables. The pizzas are barely the size of a personal pan pizza. Basically small and it did not fill my husband. Although they are tasty and bonus they have cauliflower crust , albeit soggy. We made sure we asked for extra crispy, but to no avail. Our biggest complaint is it's way over priced. We went with a group of neighbors and 5 days later we are still talking about how ridiculously overpriced they are. My husband and i had two pizzas, (all pizzas are the same size (small). He had 3 beers, I had 2. We spent $67.00 and we served ourselves, went up an ordered, and went up to order each beer. Only service was bringing out the pizza. Thats not the issue. No problem getting our own. My husband did give a $10 tip ugh.. but $77 was crazy!! By the way, we all left hungry. Thats how small the pizzas are. read more
