I have to laugh at most of the reviews here. It looks like most people pay a fraction of the price through groupon and expect a $500+ detail. Anyway, I send cars here quite often and Mike always does a wonderful job. He is always able to fit things into the schedule, and everything is always done quickly. This place is terrible. I started getting worried when I first made my appointment. Once I said I had a groupon the man's tone changed and he started babbling about how they "don't really do the shampoo with that anymore because it takes too long etc etc and it's not included." Well I was confused but also did not have the groupon in front of me so I made the appointment then called my mom to check on the groupon details (she got it for me). She sent me all the info which proves that the shampoo was included and even called them and the woman on the phone said yes my groupon included the shampoo. I ended up having to reschedule my appointment due to snow and when I was doing just I asked about the shampoo and this time a man threat I was talking to confirmed I would get the shampoo. Fast forward to my appointment. First he had told me to drop off my car before 10 and it would be 3-4 hours, he left out the part where they don't open until 10 and instructions for dropping off my key if they weren't there. Luckily another person was dropping their car off so I did the same as hiim, left my name and number wrapped around my key. I called a few hours later to get a ballpark of what time it would be ready and the guy was at first very rude to me asking what car my key went to and what I wanted done with it all annoyed sounding. I explained I had a detail appointment and his tone changed immediately. (Did not mention that they apparently lost my appointment, I found that out later) He said since it was raining it would take a little longer but it would for sure be done by 5 and probably sooner. Well that was a little bit of a bummer but I understood with the weather. I get a call at 4 from a woman there (I was excited thinking my car would be done) and she says they are about to start my car. About to start?! So I inquire why and she says I didn't have an appointment and then explains the weather again. I 100% made an appointment so this is pretty frustrating. THEN she says my groupon doesn't include the shampoo. I explain that two different people there confirmed with me the shampoo is included. She says she will check and call me back. I called my mom to quadruple check that she called too and I missed the woman's call while doing so. She left me a message saying they wouldn't start until I called back. It wasn't more than 5 minutes later I called back and no answer. I left a vm and called repeatedly for 40 minutes until I finally got through. She again said the shampoo wasn't invluded and I got in a fight with her on he phone, why would two people confirm it was if it wasn't?! It was not clear and if it's not included they at least need to be clear about their advertising AND when they speak to people on the phone. At this point I just want to get it over with also I tell her to go ahead and she says it will be ready at 6pm. TL'DR even if I didn't have the poor customer service, lost appointment, way longer wait time, and not given the services I was told I would get, it was STILL A BAD DETAIL JOB. They vacuumed my seats but I still found leaves on my back seat. There was still dirt on the back of my car too. The Detail Man is two for two. The Jeep was in serious need of a cleaning. He was diligent and thorough. The car is immaculate. My wife and I were very pleased with the quality of work. The inside and outside was spotless. The carpets looked brand new. We think the car looked better than when we picked it up from the dealer. The Detail Man does great work in our book. The good: The outside of my car looks great. The dog hair on the back carpet is gone, and the seats, windows, and other surfaces are clean. Overall, the car looks good. The bad: For a detail shop, they didn't pay much attention to the details. Windows weren't clean all the way to the edges. The center console and seats needed a quick wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirty spots that were probably left after the cleaner they used dried. The ugly: The whole groupon thing. If you think you are buying a deal on a full detail, you are wrong. You are buying a "groupon detail." For $87, you are getting what you can easily do yourself on a Saturday morning. It was an additional $60 to vacuum the dog hair, clean the entire inside, and shampoo the carpet. Which leads me to the really ugly... When they called to tell me it would be another $60, I agreed but told them I really didn't want the carpet shampooed. I was assured that if they found it necessary to shampoo, they don't use much water. They used a lot of water. And judging by the smell, I think they used dirty water. The carpets look clean now, but they took a day and a half to dry. It's been 4 days since the detail, and my car still smells like something died inside. read more

When I came to pick up my car, my bluetooth headset had disappeared and the guy who detailed my car accidentally took my key home and took an hour to come back with it. My advice is if you buy the Groupon, make sure to buy at least the $99 one. I didn't know that was an option and had to pay an additional $50 (in addition to the $69 Groupon) to get a full detailing that included shampooing, unless all you want is an interior vacuuming that you can do for $1 at a gas station yourself. The detail work itself was decent, not the best but not bad at all, although no other detail shop has ever misplaced something I left in my car before. I also called multiple times for 3 straight days without anyone answering the phone or returning my phone call. read more

I had my car detailed tue Jan 3rd. It took them 2 hours, I have a white car and its not really that dirty. When I saw my car (the outside) I was really happy! It looked all shiny and waxed! However, I do wish the inside of my windshielf had been cleaned more; I still see the oily streaks that I had done by accident and minor details in the console that shouldve been gotten to. Seen a Groupon that had a great price on detailing my truck. It had a 4 star rating on Groupon and had 285 reviews. The price to detail my truck was good, so I decided to have the truck detailed there. Boy do I have buyers remorse!! It started by me calling a few times to make an appointment, leaving messages and my phone calls were never returned. So my wife went there and made an appointment. We took the truck there at the time of the appointment, they said it would be done in 4 hours. 5 hours later we called and found the truck wasn't done, and it would not be done for another 2-3 hours. 3 hours later we called and the truck was done. When we got there the truck was still wet. I ran my hand over the hood to see if it had been waxed and my hand did not slide across the surface. I've waxed this truck before and when I was done my hand always slide across the surface effortlessly. I went into the shop to announce I was there to get my vehicle, I asked if the trucked had been waxed, the owner told me it had. I told him it didn't feel like it had been waxed and he said the surface of the truck felt that way because of all the pollen in the air, but it had been waxed. I also asked him about the chrome rims, they did not look like they had been cleaned, he stated they had. By this time I knew I had chosen a business I will never do business with again. One of the other reviews stated their vehicle had the interior detailed and it seemed as if they cleaned it with filthy water because the inside smelled very bad, not fresh, this was the case with me also. It's been 5 days, I've left the windows open and the smell is still there. I asked the owner about these details and he basically told me that I was expecting for more of a detail then what I paid for. I told him I purchased this detail on groupon. He told me for what I had asked for in the detail would cost another $100.00. I bought a $200 detail for my truck for $87 on groupon. I dropped my vehicle off the night before for a full detail and carpet shampoo. When I picked it up at the end of the day (7pm), the carpets were soaking wet. A few days later, the vehicle developed a mildew smell. I had to take the vehicle to a different detailer to have the pad replaced as the detail man over saturated the carpets. I contacted the detail man for a refund not seeking the additional funds from the carpet pad replacement and they did not return my call. I would not recommend that anyone use this company for their vehicle detailing or shampooing. read more

The Detailman did have a tough job with this one but should not have given the representation that they could do what we expected. The car was admittedly in very bad shape but we did not get what was clearly stated in the list of services for Full Service. The center console still had drip stains from soda. All of the windows had dirt where the windows meet the weather stripping. (didn't roll them down to clean them) There was a lot of debris still in the center console where a vacuum attachment would have reached. There was plenty of debris and dust over the steering wheel (didn't drop it down and vacuum). With a name like Detailman I expected detail work. I didn't expect a fine tooth comb detailing but for $150 bucks I expected more than what any local drive thru car wash would give me and I definitely didn't expect to have a puddle of brown dirty water the next day in my back floor panel. Buyers beware!! I bought a Groupon for a SUV detail inside and out. The owner called me and said $45 more to wash the seats. I was so disappointed when I picked up my car. It's literally look like the car was taken to a car wash and got a fancy grade wash. The inside was vacuum and washed down with a chemical leaving the car with no shine. I purchased a groupon for my husband and he called at least 5 times over several weeks, left multiple voicemails, emailed them though their website (including the owner), and even went through groupon so that groupon can contact the business for you and no one was able to get in contact with the business. Not one message was ever returned. I previously read multiple reviews about this company not answering the phone or returning calls and so I should have listened as it is true. Thank goodness for groupon that they kindly refunded my money and gave me an account credit even though its a shame that the business already got their money from my groupon purchase. My wife purchased a coupon from groupon for the detail man and that was a mistake. I had to call more then 10 times leaving messages with no response. When we finally got an appointment the service was horrible! Now I see that someone posted on here about what do you expect if you buy from groupon a $500 dollar cleaning? Well if that is what i paid for then yes. We paid 30.00 extra for the pet hair removal and i would admit we had a lot of hair but only in the back area behind the rear seats. After getting the car back we have have all over the car! My windows are worse then when i took the car in. There are white streaks on the dash, door pads and interior door surrounds which can only be described as some sort of cleaner/polish which I had to use a cleaning clothe to remove. The windows had streaks like a five year old had used a dirty towel to clean them. I had to re clean them myself the next day since they were so bad. We also have dust still in the vents and around all of the small things like the emergency brake leaver, the gear shift, the knobs for the heating and air conditioner. Also all for rims still have brake dust on them the rear hatch had a large area where it had not be cleaned as well as the roof. The rear arm rest and cup holders looked like they were never even touched! My wife wrote a disappointing review on groupon and he responded in a way that was lacking of any type of customer service or sense of professionalism. We were accused of having multiple vomit spots in the car. The person who responded also had the audacity to state that this is a groupon special so what did we expect to get. Well we expected to get a vacuum job and a wipe down of the car that didn't make it look worse then it had when we dropped it off. We dropped the car off at 9:30 am and didn't get a call to pick up the car until 5:45. It was dark and we really couldn't inspect the vehicle. That seems long enough to do a descent job. I have to say that I wouldn't have tried this place if not for a Living Social special offer, but now that I have, I am really impressed. First of all, Mike was as nice as could be. Unfortunately, I have found that many places that offer these on-line discounts discriminate against coupon holders in terms of scheduling. Mike was really flexible and when a family emergency came up, he even allowed me to reschedule. My SUV had endured carpools and two kids moving furniture before I bought it in. It now looks fabulous, beautifully clean and sparkling inside and out. Just remember, when he tells you, "good detailing takes time," he means it. They do a thorough job, so allow yourself two-three hours for your car's spa treatment. If you don't have someone to pick you up after your car is dropped off, there is a Dunkin Donuts with wi-fi and a diner a short walk away down Middle River Road. That's where I stayed today. I now know where to go for a good value and a good job, with or without a coupon. Also, they are a little bit hard to see, since they are in the middle of an industrial business park.
