I recently moved to the area and was in need of a jeweler to solder my wedding rings together. A parent of a friend had recommended The Diamond Exchange, but I was slightly hesitant based upon some of the reviews online. I emailed Tony to see if this was a service they provided and if so, the cost. I had already met with two previous jewelers in my hometown-one sent my rings out for soldering and it would take Saturday to Saturday, while the other wanted to charge $250 and it would take 4 days. Tony said the service would be $75, including polish and cleaning, and it would be completed in approximately 30 minutes while I waited. So I took my chance and went to The Diamond Exchange. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. They did not pressure me to purchase anything while I waited. As promised, Tony had my ring done in half an hour and it came better than I expected! I would absolutely recommend The Diamond Exchange for any jewelry repairs you need. While I did not purchase anything while I was there and therefore cannot review the store from a sales perspective, based upon my experience today, I would go there in the future for any jewelry needs! read more

Stay away. First off this is the first negative review I have written in my life, but the service was so bad that I can not let this one go. We purchased our wedding bands from diamond exchange and also had my fiances engagement ring repaired, there was a small cracked diamond in the setting. First off the repair; we had left the engagement ring there for a week to be repaired, they called us to come pick it up because it was ready... We come in and pay for the repair and inspect the ring. The diamond was still cracked. We show the lady, she tells us, oh there was 2 cracked and you only paid for one. There was without a doubt only one cracked. After much arguing they admitted that they messed up fixed it. Just terrible. Now the band's.. My fiance got a diamond band to match her ring and I got a plain white gold band. We pay for them and put them in the safe til the wedding. Few weeks before I take mine out to try it on, it's a tad too big, we bring it in to get resized. Hold on to your seat. They tell us, we can not resize it because it's not gold. They tell us we didn't pay for gold. We 100% did. They pull out the receipt, it says clear as day white gold. So they go back and forth with the owner in the back arguing with him not offering us a solution. We wait and wait at the counter, no one tells us anything. So more customers come in and they go to help them. Leaving us at the counter. I just lost it, started screaming are you serious?? Can someone just tell me you will make a new ring and I will leave. They looked puzzled and finally told me to come back for a new ring. The whole time both ladies were extremely rude. With the cracked diamond and the fake gold ring. I would not step foot in this business again to save my life. Do yourself a favor and do business elsewhere. read more

My Husband had gotten my Engagement Ring at the Diamond Exchange in 2008. August 9th, 2020. We celebrated 12 Years Married. On August 8th, 2020. My Husband took me to the Diamond Exchange because my finger size changed since we got married my Engagement Ring was very tight on my finger and very swollen. My Husband and I looked at Rings and I picked out what I wanted. We went there at 1:00 PM. We were told that we would have to come back to pick up the ring My Husband explained to them that our Anniversary was the next day and that we wanted to wait and leave with the ring.. They were very Professional and said to us that we would have to wait until 4:30PM. We told them that we didn't mind waiting I picked out a New Engagement Ring and a New Wedding Band they were finished at 3:00 PM. I Love Both of my Rings I not only have New Rings from them but I also have my Old Engagement Ring from them also! I will definitely buy more Jewelry from them! read more

I have had a great experience at the Diamond Exchange. Everyone was so very helpful and kind. I needed to raise the head on my engagement ring and make a custom wedding band to match. Naturally very nervous about how everything was going to look, after about a week, the ring looked 10X better than expected and even cleaned my other diamonds I had on me too. I'm waiting for my wedding band to come in now and I can't wait to see what it is going to look like with my new and improved engagement ring! I went to about 4 other stores as well to find the best place where I felt comfortable leaving my rings. For the past few months I have been going in and out of the Diamond Exchange both for engagement and wedding rings for my fiancé and I. I have dealt with both Carol and Stacy and they are super friendly and honest people. Not once did I feel pressured into buying anything I didn't want, but they also showed me a wide range of pricing for things I was interested in. If I wanted something on the cheaper range, not once would they try and persuade me for something more expensive - something I'm expecting to deal with based on my previous shopping experience at other places. If you are looking for quality merchandise & a pleasant experience - STAY AWAY FROM THE DIAMOND EXCHANGE ON ROUTE 17 IN PARAMUS, NJ. I first came to the Diamond Exchange to look at engagement rings with my now husband. I am thankful I was able to get a lesson in diamonds from another jeweler, because the diamond Kiki showed us had a large, VISIBLE imperfection dead center. She was telling us the quality was amazing, and charging more than other places for the same cut and size. While we did not buy the engagement ring from here, we did go back for my wedding band due to their "highly recommended" custom orders. Our wedding was February 22nd, 2014. My ring was scheduled to be completed at the end of December. December came and went without a phone call. I reached out to this company a total of 8 times between January 2nd and February 21st only to be met with giggles and excuses as to why the ring was not completed. FEBRUARY 21st, at 4:30PM (The evening BEFORE my wedding day) the ring was finally "ready". Upon pickup, I requested to speak with Tony, the owner. Tony refused to come out from behind his mirrored back room. As much as I requested to speak with him, the employees said there was nothing they could do. In pity, they offered me a $100 gift card that (for over an hour) they refused to apply to my balance owed. I was late to my own wedding rehearsal at the church and a I was a complete stressed out mess. All the employees of The Diamond Exchange (Including Kiki) did was laugh, and say "I have no authority". You can guarantee I, as well as my family and friends, will never go back to this company again for any kind of jewelry. I should have known since day one that they do not know how to run a trustworthy business. I have sure learned my lesson now. Just as a side note to The Diamond Exchange on Rt. 17 in Paramus, NJ: Customer service goes a long way. If I was contacted in a timely manner and properly explained the situation as to the delay of my wedding band, I would not be as ashamed of your company as I am right now. Being met with giggles when trying to solve a problem is the last thing that any customer wants to encounter. Also, Tony should have the common decency to come out and speak directly to his customers if requested, especially if there is a problem. Customer service is a learned trait. There are many classes to train both yourself as an Owner/Manager, as well as your employees. This is absolutely something I would recommend to your company. Had a fantastic experience at the Diamond Exchange!!! My fiance had purchased my engagement ring here so we went back to look at wedding rings this past Saturday. Kiki remembered him immediately and she was so warm and welcoming. She did not rush us at all and was very honest and not trying to upsell. Actually went with smaller diamonds on the band then we originally wanted at her suggestion. She remembered my ring and the diamond quality to match for the band. Price was fantastic. walked into the Diamond Exchanged helping mother sell old engagement ring. The man behind the glass studied and measured then offered $3,000 dollars for a beautiful 2 carat diamond. It was the lowest of all offers !!! I was informed that the diamond value was between $8,000 and $10,000 dollars. Ironically was offered $10,000 dollars for the diamond !! This review is long overdue. My husband proposed to me with this absolutely gorgeous ring back in Nov 2011. I remember the first time I went into the store with him, we looked at rings together, and I immediately noticed a very uniquely designed engagement band. Kiki was the person who helped us and she was very friendly and shared my excitement. I didn't know when my husband was going to propose, but the fact that he wanted to look at rings together was very exciting. I was very happy with my initial experience with the staff, even though we didn't stay for very long. Both my boyfriend at the time and I felt comfortable and reassured about coming back in the future. My husband had the most encounter with the staff, especially Kiki, since the very early stages, as he will write his own separate review. From my perspective I was always greeted with care upon each visit. Fast forward to today, it's been like seeing family or old friends. They were always happy to see us. After my husband proposed I had gone back to thank them and happily show them the ring they made. My husband found a great deal on the actual diamond somewhere else, and even shared his research with the staff. They would laugh along with my engagement story and were very happy for us. Both of us have gone back several times for polishing and to fix the smaller stones on my ring that seemed a little loose overtime. It was done at a decent price or no cost. I was told polishing was free for life, and it has been until lately. Just the other week, I got the ring re-sized since I am pregnant with my second child because my wedding band was a size 7 and my engagement ring was a 6.5. I figured it was because I had been so skinny at the time of my wedding. Today I had the rings match both size 7, which was $40, but the "free" polish charge was a surprise as it cost me another $40. That would be my only gripe because we were introduced to that service as a free service. Overall, I had been given the best care with my rings. In 2013, I was pregnant with my first child and my rings were stuck on my finger. They carefully removed it and melted it back together for a charge. I had my in-laws come and they had a good experience with Kiki and were charged a fee for polishing as well, but the customer service was great. They were very nice to them and to my parents who I also introduced. In terms of costumer service they were much like family and we never had a problem with them. Kiki is like an aunt and always wants her clients to be happy. I felt like she wanted the best for me and my husband. She is quite a character, so you have to accept her mannerisms in a positive way. She gets the job done and the rest of the staff like Stacy and George work really hard. We admire George because he is always willing to help and his workmanship is great. If I notice any natural flaws overtime, he is always happy to fix them. He also did a lovely job on my husbands ring. They were there from the beginning and played a big part in our union. I really can't complain because the service has been great over the past 5 years, and I would highly recommend them in the future. read more

This is not a fake review, I have never interacted with these people before today. I'm not necessarily a fan but my experience was not negative, everything went well. All I know is that I needed to have my rings done as soon as possible and I wanted to be present because I do not trust my rings (20 years) to anyone. I wanted my rings sized from a 7 1/4 to size 8. My rings are an engagement ring with a 1 carat center diamond and two rows of .50 ctw diamond channel setting, the matching band also has .50 ctw diamond channel setting. So I went to the diamond exchange because it was literally the only place that would do same day resizing of my rings at a good price. I was hesitant due to the posted reviews and if i was buying a ring I would have held off. But I threw caution to the wind because Kiki sounded very nice and gave me the price on the phone when everyone else I called kept on saying they have to check my ring first for diamonds, band thickness... yada yada yada. I didn't want to hear all that. She told me it would take an hour and would cost $50 per ring. I got over there at 2:40pm. There was no one in the store so Kiki took my info right away in order to make the sales receipt, took size measurements and gave the rings to the jeweler sitting behind a large open glass window where I could see the whole thing since they are facing the showroom. She very nicely offered me coffee, tea or water. I grabbed some water and sat down right in front of the window and the guy proceeded to size my rings. I got up a few times looked at what he was doing, looked around at their jewelry, it all looked very nice but I resisted the urge to start trying on stuff. And they didn't ask me to or try to make a sale. Within 30 minutes, the jeweler was done with my rings. He came out gave them to Kiki, I thought I overheard them say something about the price but nonetheless, she called me up to the counter. I checked my rings, paid and left. The rings were a little bit more thinned out toward the bottom of the band because that's where the ring is cut and some gold is added to make them larger but it's not a bad job. It's sturdy, doesn't look like it'll bend or break And I'm happy that I have my rings and can now wear them all the time again after my upcoming vow renewal. read more

I went in here several times scouting out an engagement ring. I went in there the third time ready to buy. It turns out they didn't have any actual diamonds but were going to order some for me to come look at. Turns out they never called me back. I called them, and got a big apology...once again, they didn't call back. I decided, "Why am I going to spend this much money at a place like this?" Had a terrible feeling about it. This place is such a disaster and full of scam artists. We purchased two rings with the birthstones of two very special people. We have taken both rings back approximately 6 times each because stones continue to fall out of them. The last time we were there we asked for a refund, which they refused and responded by saying that WE are costing THEM money by continuing to come back asking for repairs. I asked Tony, the owner (by the way.. great business man, very customer service oriented... catch my sarcasm?) if he agreed that he sold us two unwearable rings. He shrugged his shoulders and said, stones could fall out in 10 years, they could fall out in 2 hours, it all depends. Really Tony? Because I thought it depended on the quality of the ring. But, I guess he doesn't know the definition of quality. And, ironically enough, the last time we went back, two stones had fallen out of one of the rings, and I had JUST gotten it back from them from the previous repair! It sat on my dresser for 2 HOURS and I picked it up and 2 were missing. I said to Tony that I can't keep coming back there, driving back and forth to drop off and pick up the defective rings, and his response was, "you probably pass right by here more than you even realize." Ok, so not only have you insulted my intelligence by telling me that I don't know when I'm on Route 17 or not, but I'm also supposed to look down at my rings each time I'm passing by, check to see that some stones have fallen out (which clearly they have because it's been 5 minutes and these rings aren't supposed to last longer than that) and stop to get a "repair" when I'm on my way somewhere else. Sure, I've got all the time in the world. Basically, I should have known better than to purchase, or even pull in the parking lot, of a jeweler on the side of the highway...
