She guided me through upgrading my 2024 Ford F-250 Lariat Ultimate 4x4 from 3.31 gears to 3.73 gears, along with installing a rear E-locker and a front limited-slip differential. Jesse, the owner, was equally knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions. From day one, it felt less like doing business and more like working with people I had known for years. Jesse and his team at The Differential and Axle Shop do AMAZING work!!! I had them rebuild and regear my front Dana 44 and rear GM 12-Bolt axles from 3.07:1 to 4.10:1 on my '72 Chevy K10 4x4. Their work was not cheap, but still cheaper than replacing my axles with aftermarket units from Dana, Dynatrac, Currie, or Boyce Equipment. By far the BEST axle repair shop in the greater North San Diego County area. Jesse and his team took great pride in caring for my classic truck, going as far as covering the entire vehicle with plastic to keep dust, dirt, and contaminants from getting on the paint. Was referred to Joe and Jesse at the Differential and Axle shop from AAMCO and just as advised, they were able to quickly diagnose what the issue was on my daughter's 2018 Camaro. The office lady (don't recall her name), jumped right on looking at what the options were - an amazing team! First, let me begin by saying how straight-forward, honest, and happy Jessie and Joe were when answering my many, possibly silly, questions; in addition, both Jessie and Joe were happy to take the extra time necessary to include insight and experience when answering, and recommending one brand of wheel bearing over another. Moreover, Joe recommended that I have the carburetor on my 1973 Chevrolet Corvette rebuilt because of the odor emitting from the exhaust pipe while engine running; turns-out, it needed rebuilding, adjustment and correct placement of the vacuum hoses--I had hooked-up the vacuum lines incorrectly; in addition, the carburetor was using way too much fuel because of an interior gasket and misadjustment. Originally, I connected with The Differential and Axle Shop because of noise radiating from the driver's side rear wheel of my Corvette; and, I diagnosed the cause as the Independent Rear Suspension spindle bearings failing, in reality, the U-Joints attached to the Half Shafts, completing the Axle, were old and failing. Joe could have up-sold me, however, he didn't--instead he told me the truth about the U-Joints; so, I opted to have all of the U-Joints and Spindle bearings replaced. I am happy with the job Jessie did to my Corvette, and the honest answers both Joe and Jessie provided to me. This review is based only on a phone call so far with Joe. I called with questions about tackling an axle seal leak. Joe patiently explained his answers in understandable and detailed terms. He helped me come up with a plan of attack that is the most conservative in terms of cost. He also explained in detail the meticulous work they do to correct a bent axle. I took my toyota 8.4 3rd in to Jesse to have it rebuilt I purchased the ring gear and pinion and master install kit from yukon gear and axle he was reluctant to rebuild it with customer supplied parts as he had no faith in yukon products but he did it. The thing howled like crazy on decel. I took it back outta the Truck and he did all the checks right in front of me back lash pattern bearing pinion preload all in spec. It was a brand new bad ring and pinion. So I was out about $1000 in parts and labor. So I said rebuild it with the brand of parts you like he said motive gear in about a week I had the 3rd member back in the truck with a new ring gear pinion and all new bearings. Another $1030 outta my pocket but it's quiet now. Jesse is a stand up guy that stands behind his work a word to the wise is let him get the parts and do the rebuild so if there is an issue he can resolve it the parts I bought from yukon I supplied that's on me. Just take what ever you need fixed to him and have him source the parts and do it all start to finish and it will be done right. Took my 69 F250 to Joe and Jessie for upgrades, power steering, disc brakes, regear and diff. rebuild. These guys are the best. All went well until we got into the power steering. Bad pumps, bad gear box (all rebuilt stuff) and they never gave up. Took us three months to get it right and they hung in there the whole way. Went way above and beyond what most shops would.
