Went in last night, and we were unsure at first as the crowd didn't really seem to be "our people," but we gave it a go anyway. After a couple cocktails making friends became easy as pie, everyone we chatted with was quite nice, the atmosphere is dark and comfortable but a bit spare, and the bartender was very welcoming and attentive. We are still making our way around the Redding bar scene, but we will definitely be back. read more

Cool new bar in a familiar spot. Hailing back to an earlier time when Bombay's used to play good music the new ownership has done an excellent job putting together a friendly and clean bar where you can see local line music. The Drip features respectable diversity of beers on tap and a friendly wait staff that is both efficient and polite while not overly aggressive. Best place in Redding! There is a great craft beer selection and an equally-as-great patio! My partner and I stumbled upon this place when we were hitchhiking and got stuck in Redding. It was late afternoon, so it was slow, and we had a very friendly bartender! He very politely asked that we leave our backpacks by the door and even apologized, but it wasn't a problem at all. He gave us advice on where to stay and what to do and he even gave us each a drink on the house because of our rough day. He was also super helpful recommending beers. I found myself in Redding again waiting to catch a late night train, so I wanted to check out the bar scene. After asking people around town, everyone said to go to The Dip. I made it there and was excited to see as i walked up that it was the bar I had been to and loved my last time in Redding! I had a great experience again, but the bartender that night was sort of rude. When I walked in she told me there were no backpacks allowed and I had to leave. I asked if I could leave it by the door like I did when I was there before, and she just said, "sure you can leave it there but I can't watch it." But there was live music that I liked. Too loud and crowded inside but it was perfect hanging out on the patio. read more

Great atmosphere and even better service! Mike, the bartender was a super great host! He gave us the history of the copper cups and drinks that are trending in them. We were at an establishment across the street and had very bad service and left to head home and saw their (The Dip) sign. Decided to check it out and glad we did. Live music and huge beer on tap selection and full bar with Mike the bartender servings perfect highballs at a fair price. Highly recommend this place. read more

Great place for a great drink! The bartender Mike makes all the juice fresh squeezed! Very informative about what is on tap! Well drinks are not your usual. I was very impressed that they used Skyy, Jim beam and ballast point Gin for their well drinks. No bar in town and I mean no one ... Uses this type of alcohol as their well... No plastic bottles here.. The extensive 20 beers on tap was very impressive. We will be frequenting this establishment again soon! I plan on catching some live music here soon as well! read more

Went to this place offhandedly while waiting for the Amtrack. Mike, the bartender, made a stressful day of travel turn around and he was so cool that it made me feel obligated to write a review. He was great and the ambiance of the bar was really cool. Highly recommend this joint as they've got a great collection of brews and booze. read more

Wants to be a concert venue, has no business serving drinks. Twice have been sold drinks, only to be asked to leave before they could be drunk to accommodate bands. They sold us drinks on St. Patrick's Day, then kicked us out for band set up before we could drink them. What kind of bar closes on St. Patrick's Day? read more

If youre looking for a chill night with great beer this is the place. The bartenders know a lot about the beer theyre serving you and its stuff you cant get just anywhere. The bands are great but they dont play every night if thats not what ure into. Always had a great time here. read more

The dip, is the jam. I don't live in Redding anymore and am never stoked to go out to drink when I come home. But I remember the dip from years ago when I was a young buck, they had great shows and I loved it. Now it's super nostalgic to come to this bar with the same people and owners and actually have a good drink. They actually know how to make a cocktail and don't use crappy booze. Yay. read more

I just moved here from ohio and decided to check this place out. So happy I did! They were doing a fantastic painting class well contest with Bob Ross and the service was amazing. Will definitely be coming back again. The only downside was two female customers were being very loud and rude to the employees. This place is very unique and fun and I look forward to coming up for shows in the near future. Keep up the great work and customer service. read more

They always have a great selection of beers. All the bartenders are great and really know how to mix up an excellent drink. They only use fresh squeezed citrus in their drinks. Also a good place for live music. read more

This place is great. Good beer, great music, and you can even bring your own food. There is also an outdoor smoking section in the back.
