It's a little shack right by the marina in downtown Cedarville, and you can eat your delicious cone or sundae out at the tables by the water - if it's sunset, even better! The shoppe always is well-stocked with three cases of rotating flavors of ice cream (Mackinac Island Fudge is always there, though!) plus plenty of specialty sundaes, shakes and malts to choose from. One of my family members orders a Heavenly Hill sundae (with hot fudge and Reese's Pieces on top) every time - yum! One scoop is $2 and two is only $2.50. Sundaes are a little more ($3.75-$4.75) but remember you're paying for the experience and the enjoyment of summer! They also serve hot dogs and other food-shack-type but I've never tried them. You can order from inside (standing room for only about 4 people!) or outside at the window but I think the inside is faster and you can see all the ice cream flavors. In the evenings there's usually a bit of a line but the girls who usually are working there are fast and friendly. Small little parking lot fits about 5-6 cars. There's a little slide where kids can play and a gazebo with extra seating, and it's just an all-around perfect experience to go out for ice cream in the summers in Cedarville!

The hospitality…read morewas just as warm as you'd hope, with friendly staff who made choosing from their wonderful variety of flavors a fun challenge. I chose the Peanut Butter Mackinac Fudge, and it was pure creamy goodness--rich, decadent, and packed with generous ribbons of peanut butter and chunks of Mackinac fudge. Every bite was absolutely delicious and left with wanting more! One of my favorite things is how conveniently Sadie's is attached to the Grand Hotel. As a hotel guest, it's was a treat to grab my ice cream and (after 6:30 p.m while dressed according to the evening dress code), enjoy it while relaxing in the beautiful Parlor. It adds an extra touch of charm to an already memorable Grand Hotel experience. Whether you're craving a classic favorite or a signature flavor, Sadie's is absolutely worth a stop. Delicious ice cream, genuine hospitality, and an elegant setting made it much more than just a place for dessert.

Quick friendly service. The vanilla ice cream on it was gooey and nice but the overall sprinkles, portion of ice cream to cake was a bit too much! (Can be shared between 3-5 people) Overhyped and over-rated place but good for one time visit to experience the old world ice cream parlour charm. Root beer float was refreshing for the super summery day after walking entire day on the island.

When we arrived, there were a couple of people inside but we chose outside (shaded) seating since it was such a nice day. The deck, which is partially covered, overlooks the Cheboygan River. Apparently there is an award winning chef creating the delectable entrees. The menu included a nice selection of appetizers and ala carts/side items, burgers, salads, baskets, desserts, pastas, etc were on the dinner entree side and available after 4pm. Too bad...the mushroom pasta sounded delightful!! My husband and I both chose fish & skinny fries. What are "skinny fries"? They are the perfect size and crispness!! They are what fries were made to be!! I ate every single delicious one!! The fish was lightly beer battered Alaskan cod and it was just what my stomach needed to tame the serious case of hangries!! I'm not sure if the best part was the first bite or the wonderful smell as it was being brought to our table! (I'm saying this because almost all my life I've lived in KS, the allergy capital of the US, and have never been able to smell things like food until we moved to MI)!! Hubby and I agreed, we will be back for a date night dinner even though this is a 30 min drive for us! Also it's a dress up or casual dress place. We really enjoyed it!
