When they came in there were two guys- one was doing the work while the other one held the vacuum hose and informed my husband that if we wanted a thorough job we would have to purchase extra cleaning options. Very unprofessional place. These people damaged my home and because I didnt get mad about it right then and there being kind hearted I got cheated. Guess I should have asked for compensation without knowing cost. They came to my house to do a A.C. cleaning put the foil on a airduck and went to go sit in the car. Normally people will clean the airducks by putting in some broom type thing and push dust or whatever to help the vacume. When they were done, I'd say about 30min later, apon taking the vac from the ceiling the heavy big peice of wood that the foil vac seal bag is connected to fail off when he untighted the stick that's holds that up. When it fail it brushed my shoulder fell straight on my table where I was sitting (Thank God I moved over a bit I didn't need to but I did otherwise that thing would have knocked me out or killed me) bracking everything on it, cracking the table, sraching the hardwood floor and sadly broke my cell phone along with a few other things. He asked if I was ok I said yes and gave me his card to access everything and call him since my phone broke and if I needed compensation. I told him ok thank you I will, I know it was an accident don't feel bad and then they left. 10 days went by I called once i got the cell phone cost because unforchantly the glass just kept coming out of it over the days so I needed to get another one. I called the office told them what happened and the guy said he dosnt think it fair that he has to pay it. The office manager Michael said they would contact me in a few days and here we are. So needless to say they are not going to pay for any damages. I bought an online deal for duct cleaning and ended up paying an additional $240 and the tech didn't even finish the job when I told him I would not authorize any other charges... everything ended up being "not included" in the online deal! Absolutely terrible customer service. My original appointment for carpet cleaning was on a Sunday between 9a-11a, with a 30 minute warning call. The tech called at 11:30a and said he was getting ready to head my way. I explained that he had missed the appointment window, and I was on my way to the airport to pick someone up. He said he could likely come back that afternoon, and I told him I would be home anytime after 1:30. He never called and never showed. I called that following Monday to reschedule, and was told that due to their error, they would not require me to have a time window but would show up at a specific time, at my convenience. They were to come that Thursday at 8:00 a.m. I received a phone call that morning at 8:15 a.m. from the technician saying he was about to head my way, but he did not have my address. At that point I told him he would be too late, and to have his manager call me. His manager (supposedly the owner of the business) called me and was extremely rude from the get go. He accused me of lying about my appointments, and said that no one would have given me a specific time, even to make up for their error. Why would I make that up and inconvenience myself?STUPID. He ended up hanging up on me when I told him if he did not honor my next appointment I would report him. I would literally NEVER give them business. read more

I have been ripped off and scammed. Let me start off by explaining that I bought a "deal voucher" from kgbdeals.com. When they arrived, the main guy who spoke very broken English explained that the steam cleaning would not "work" unless I paid extra for stain removal chemicals. I said no thank you a number of times and he kept pushing the issue. He finally said "just let me just show you, I'll do one so you can see, and you'll want it on all the rooms." I took this to mean, as I'm sure anyone else would, that he was going to do a sample to convince me to pay extra. To get him off my back, I said fine, and planned on telling him no thank you AGAIN after he finished his sample. I was waiting in a different room when he came out and asked me to come back and take a look. I went back to the room to see that he had done the whole room with the chemical add on service. I said, ok it looks nice but I am not interested in using that in the other rooms. He responded very rudely to this and walked away from me muttering under his breath. He went on to do the two other rooms, incompletely and damaging my home in the process. We have our Christmas tree up in one of the rooms and he slammed into it with his arm and with the steamer multiple times. I have broken branches and broken ornaments because of it. He also sucked up the bottom of all of my curtains into the steamer in his haste. Once this incredibly poor service was finished, he informed me that I owed him $35 for the chemical treatment in one room. I was shocked! I asked him what he meant by this, as he clearly represented to us that what he was doing was a "sample" which to me, meant no cost. I didn't even want it to begin with, and said NO many, MANY times. He blamed the confusion on his accent but no matter what we said to him, demanded to be paid. This man would not leave my house until I paid his $35, so I did. I am so disgusted. Scheduled to come in this AM to clean carpets on a $49 Groupon coupon...same as others below, they called an HOUR before the appointment (after all furniture in house moved, vacuumed, ready for cleaning) to inform me that "she couldnt find the technician that was suppoosed to clean my carpets!!!" Monday morning...not at work...hmmmm...really dont need someone hung over in my home cleaning my carpets!!! Got on YELP...and see that my experience is not the first!!! I got a Groupon for them for $50 for 3 rooms, which would cover my entire apartment. I have a shady landlord and am moving out and want things as clean as possible, so they don't try to screw me on charging for carpet replacement. I have a pet and numerous stains, so based on previous carpet cleaning experiences with other companies (without Groupons), I knew that I'd likely be encouraged to pay for additional treatments. To no surprise that happened and I gladly paid - again, the extra is worth my landlord not trying to make me pay for an entire carpet replacement. I admittedly was a bit of a PITA customer and they handled it like pros: I had to cancel twice on short notice (couple of hours), because of odd and unavoidable life happenings that kept popping up. They were pleasant and happy to reschedule. They actually called to say they were early and see if they could come over - no problem. They thanked me repeatedly for letting them come early and did a stellar job and cleaned up after themselves. They were very polite and professional. I'd use them again if I needed carpets cleaned (though my new place is all wood flooring, so that won't be happening.) The upcharge to treat the stain may have been pricier than I expected, but I still think overall I got a good deal. They're open on Sunday, though not on Saturdays. It was a little annoying that I had to be home; previous companies I'd used in Atlanta sans-Groupon were able to enter if I gave them permission and access to a key. I think they want you there so they can try to upsell you on add-ons. Just know to expect that going in and be prepared with whether you feel you need that or not. read more

This company is a complete rip off. I just purchased a new home (10 YO home) in April and my 3rd floor loft A/C was not cooling. They came in on a 34.00 Groupon for duct cleaning and checked out the house and told me the 3rd floor had never been hooked up and they would charge 540.00 to hook up. When they did it in 10 minutes, I questioned them and told them no one liked to get screwed. Oh no that floor had never been connected electric or ducts, that's why they were charging so much. The ducts were up there just never connected. Of course they'd already done the work so they couldn't prove it. I Found out who installed the a/c when the house was new finally through the HOA and contacted them and this company lied. The original company in Garland said it was under warranty and they had never had a complaint about the 3rd floor and if they had it would have been fixed under warranty. Dirt Doctors are liars and cheaters. Watch it if they come into your home, they will find something to rip you off and make you pay more!!! They refused to give me my money back after finding out they actually did rip me off because 'I approved it' when they were on site. I had to file a complaint through my bank credit card. I COMPLETELY agree with everyone's reviews. I never take the time to write reviews but these guys made me so angry I had do. I bought a deal online for the 3 room carpet cleaning. When they get there they keep saying the stains wont come up unless they add chemicals which is an extra charge per room which I could not afford. I'm like why did I pay to have my carpets cleaned if it is not even going to work?! The guy and I went back and forth on this for a while and I finally I was like fine, pack up your stuff and leave and give me my money back if it won't work unless you add chemicals. If I am paying to have my carpets cleaned, I want them CLEANED. He finally gave up and said he would add the chemicals for no charge. Unbelievably bad experience. Scheduled appt window 10-noon and we were told to move all our furniture off the carpet, no small feat. At 10:15, I confirmed that they were in fact coming. At 12:15, I was told 2-2:30 At 3:30, I was asked if I'd like to reschedule for another day. I'd taken the day off of work, waited in my home all day in a house with furniture sitting in the hallways, and then dealt with one of the most inept customer service people ever who barely spoke English on top it. We bought a Groupon and called to set an appointment. The appointment was set almost 2 months out because they were so busy (and also outside of the groupon return policy) When the technician came to the house he refused to clean the carpets because there were pet stains. He said "my cleaning wont do anything" "you won't even notice a difference" that was unless we paid an additional $49/room. Then it would make a difference. He also suggested that we clean the carpets ourselves then he could come back and clean them. Waste of time and money. In reference to the Dirt Doctor Carpet Cleaning GroupOn for North Texas I was HIGHLY disappointed and felt deceived by their offer. I believe this company has set up a deal that they are not honoring. I purchased the carpet cleaning deal ...and when they arrived at my home they told me that the type of carpet that I have (Berber) requires deep cleaning to make a difference, not simply steam cleaning which was the Groupon that I purchased. Nowhere on their site nor the Groupon did it specify there was a difference between steam or deep cleaning. The deep cleaning fee was an additional $40 per area of my house, since I already had each room cleared of furniture and prepped for carpet cleaning and had taken off work to be present for the appointment I felt trapped in paying the additional money to have my carpets cleaned. It was a total of $190 plus the $50 Groupon I had purchased. Either the Groupon, their website, or both should specify a difference between steam carpet cleaning and deep cleaning and identify that different types of carpet may incur additional fees. read more

Well... you get what you pay for. We used the Groupon for $50 special for duct cleaning. They use a vacuum and only reach in as far as the vacuum will enter (about 4-10 feet). This is not the length of the entire duct. They also do not use the any compressed air or system wide vacuum or any agitation device other than a brush attached the end of the vacuum. This is not a complete cleaning. They will 'upsell' for cleaning the intake duct, the blowers and other parts. They also upsell one thing at a time - we agreed to pay $99 for cleaning the intake duct, then they said it would be $150 for the blowers and $99 for one more part. So they asked for $350 extra for cleaning the entire system. They are not a scam like the what you see on you tube (search for 'duct cleaning scam' on youtube before you hire anyone). But they are not entirely honest either. read more

I was given an appointment window of 10-12. I called to verify (which they should have done) at 10.15am & was assured they would be there to clean. At 12.15, I called to ask where the technician was. The lady advised me she would call me & he would call me for the time he would arrive. 12.45 rolls around, & no call back. I called them back again & she said he was behind on appointments & she needed me to reschedule. She also said that for my area, an additional $30 would be due. Like others, we purchased a groupon for the cleaning of 3 rooms. We have a cat and have numerous carpet stains and odors that we needed to get taken care of. They came and charged us an additional $75 for a special treatment in one room that was particularly stained. The room looked nice for less than a day before the smell got worse and the odors resurfaced. After calling them to come back out and retreat, they stood us up twice. Finally called the office and had to reschedule again to come retreat our carpets. The manager yelled at me and hung up on me 3 times! I finally got a deal in writing, in which he would do the Groupon again (3 rooms) but then wanted to charge us another $25 for any additional rooms to be deep cleaned because he "couldn't do the original treatment for free" (mind you, we all had to rearrange our schedules and already lost work time as we work commission based jobs). After reading some online reviews I wasn't sure about going with The Dirt Doctor, but I'm very glad I did. I called them up looking to have a good job done on a damaged carpet, and I got more than I paid for. I purchased a 3 rooms and a Hallway coupon from DealSaver for the DFW Dirt Doctor service. They scheduled an appointment for two weeks out. Then, they called 30 minutes prior to cancel. So, we rescheduled for another two weeks out. Then, they called and cancelled and we, reluctantly, rescheduled for another two weeks out. This time, they did not call to cancel - They Just Didn't Show Up! I finally called the provider where I made the initial payment and got a full refund. Dirt Doctor wouldn't even return my calls. I made an appointment with this company and the only availability was a month out. My time slot given was between 2pm and 5pm arrival and was supposed to receive a call 30 minutes prior to arrival. I called at 4:30pm wondering why no one had called me yet and was told the tech will call me soon. At 5:30 I called again to tell them no one has called me yet and I was told they will call me soon and that if they do not to call them back. At 7pm I received a call back after them missing 4 of my calls and was greeted with a disappointed owner I guess and said they will call the tech. 8pm I received a call that the tech went over on the job before mine therefore it was going to be too late to come to my house and would need to reschedule. They offered to come to my house the next day between 8am and 10 am but I told them this was very unprofessional and ridiculous. I got a Groupon for them for $59 to clean the air ducts. They arrived as scheduled and immediately started to work. However, they were pushy to have other services. I inspected what they proposed and approved the work. However, I was very concerned as was not sure they have licenses to perform air conditioning work or anything. After they left the fan on our system locked up. We called them back and they tried to accuse me of breaking it after they left. I explained I only pushed one button and made clear this was a result of their work. The alleged manager called and wanted to take pictures of the system. My husband , a Master Electrician , denied them as he clearly pointed out the issues. We demanded a professional A/C/Heating technician come to repair our system. We have left numerous phone calls with no results. In addition they asked for a tip which I refused. I have never tipped a service industry for repair or maintenance on a household item. read more

I used my Groupon to get the bedrooms in my house cleaned. After they had been here for approximately 10 minutes, I heard a noise from the hallway where they were working. The ridged hose that went from their truck to the attachment they were using was rubbing on two corners of the hallway. One corner at the entrance of the hallway, and one around the bend to the next room. I called to them, and one of them came and was very polite, and told me that the man who I took to be in charge of the crew (I believe his name was Ivan or Yevan) had said it would loosen up on its own. I called the number on the side of the truck to let them know that their crew was damaging the house. The man who answered said he would call the crew. I was standing with them when they recieved this call, which was all conducted in a language I did not understand. When Ivan got off the phone, he proceeded to ask me repeatedly "WE did all this?? Where did this color on here come from? How did it get up this high?" I answered the questions (after all, I had seen it happening, the hose was riding farther and farther up the wall and scraping more and more paint) and he kept repeating them louder and more agressively. At that point I asked him to leave. He stood in my front hallway and said he was just trying to understand why I had a problem, and that they had not done anything. I again asked him to leave, and said that I would rather file a complaint than have him browbeat me. He started to say something else, and I again said that I would rather he left. Pros: They did a good job to clean the duct and carpet Cons: I used the Groupon for the carpet cleaning but make a mistake to when I make an appointment for the duct cleaner. Their website declares that a duct system meaning it will include the in and out including main unit, and that's what my previous duct company charge me a flat rate for the whole systems. I ended up paying $500 for the duct + dry duct systems. This jewish guy is very pushy and gave me an invoice with junk description. We should report these people to AAA and Federal Commissioner. We purchased two Groupons in October 2012 for Dirt Doctor to clean our air ducts. In December, we booked our appointment for mid-January as that was the first available. No biggie. On our scheduled appointment, we were given a two-hour window in which they would arrive. 15-30 minutes after our window had closed, we got a call from the technician saying that their car broke down and they wouldn't be able to make it. Bad luck, but oh well. We waited a couple weeks and rescheduled, this time about a month out as that was the first available. Again, given a two-hour window. This time, we called them near the end of the window to make sure they could come. They said they would be late, as they were doing a house in Dallas and were running late. We called back, and eventually, they stated that they wouldn't be able to make it that day. We schedule our third appointment, about a week later. I bet you can't guess what happens. Oh wait. We call several times throughout the day to check on their progress to make sure they will be able to make the appointment, they confirm repeatedly that they will. With ten minutes to go in the appointment, they say the technician is still on site at another location, which happens to be 45 minutes away from our house. They said they could schedule us TWO WEEKS LATER, because their schedule is already full for the next day - as if it's our fault they can't make an appointment. I eventually convinced them to come out two days later, first appointment - and the next day they called and said they would have to do it in the afternoon, at which point i said no thanks we're done. Throughout the whole process we tried to be understanding, and if we asked for anything to be remotely accommodating to make up for their poor scheduling, they seemed like it was a huge issue for them to go out of their way. Terrible way to treat customers, don't care about keeping commitments, shouldn't have purchased the groupons. We are in the process of trying to get our refund now - maybe they treat customers better who pay full price? Don't know, but wouldn't risk it... read more

Worst thing happen to our house. We have a 4 bedrooms home and a stair and he finished his job in 40 minutes that is impossible that he did a thorough clean! We found a few places that were not even touched and our stair case area has a wet spot that we have to spend the whole roll of paper towel to try to suck the water out of the carpet. I thought I can trust them by reading the reviews, but it is not the case. Really regret paying that much money to have that kind of service! All good reviews are either left by them or are fake. Worst Ever! Set up an appointment 3 weeks in advance for 8. We called at 8:30. They said it would be 9:30. They called us at 9:45 and said they would be there shortly. They finally got here at 11:00. They spent all of 30 minutes here. We had moved all the furniture except a couch and love seat. We figured they could slide them from one side the the other. Wrong. They didn't move them at all. The carpet was wet but not any cleaner. They left a puddle of dirty water on my tiled entry way. Then they put their lunch leftovers and trash in my recycle bin. I had to remove their NASTY trash with my hands and put them in the trash. I paid $28 for this and that was way too much. If I had paid full price i would be on the phone screaming. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Doctor after purchasing $100 Groupon for an entire house carpet steam cleaning. I also noted with them that I was interested in getting the air duct system cleaned as I saw they also provided these services on their website. Last week, a Dr. Doctor team consisting of Asaf and Michael came to house to perform the requested services. They were professional, courteous, and did an excellent job of cleaning the carpets and the air ducts. I didn't make it easy on them as I was trying to work from home while they were trying to get things done. When something needed to be discussed/decided, Asaf was very courteous when interrupting my work time. He and Michael did a great job and I would definitely recommend using them for all carpet and air duct cleaning needs. read more

Wow; can't believe how consistent the reviews are. I also got a $49 Groupon, they missed 2 appointments and never bothered to call; rescheduled after I called them to find out where they were. Manager offered us 25% off all the upcharges that they wanted to charge us for standing us up twice. Showed up in an unmarked van with a "machine" that wasn't even as nice as the Rug Doctor you rent at grocery stores. Once the technician realized (and argued with me) that I wasn't going to spend all the extra money that he expected he literally finished my entire upstairs in 12 minutes. My carpet is so wet now I'm afraid it's going to smell mildewy before it dries. Run away from this business -- Groupon is not worth the hassle or lousy job they do. read more

What a poor job! I made an appointment with The Dirt Doctor and "AAA Air Duct & Carpet Cleaning" came out to my house. They were 4 hours late. They were more interested in selling additional services than cleaning my carpet. All they did was "power-wash" my carpet. They squirted on cold water and vacuumed it off. Any pre-treatment would be extra. Use of any detergent would be extra. The completed my 2500 square foot house in 30 minutes and during half of that time, one of the guys was on his phone. After they were finished, I asked about some of the stains. They said "that's what the pre-treatment was for". They reminded me several times that the GroupOn price did not include their gratuity. I had to avoid getting near one of the guys because of his bad body-odor. This was just a horrible experience and a waste of time & money. read more

A TOTAL RIP OFF!!!! I would first like to start off by saying that the whole experience was not what I purchased and expected! We were given an appointment time of between 2pm-4pm and the cleaners did not even show up until 6pm. I then was told that they would be "steaming" my carpet, not cleaning it. I purchased a Groupon for $59, valued at $149, which claimed that I would get 1,000 sq ft max for 3 rooms. Well, upon further disappointment I was told that I needed to get "pretreatment" for stains. Umm what did I pay for then.... Apparently, for them to come in and steam the carpet with hot water, no chemicals, etc. One of the workers claimed that this details were laid out on the groupon. I reviewed the complete groupon details and no where does it say that pretreating, or actually cleaning the carpet was extra. I feel like I have been totally ripped off. read more

If I could rank with NO star, I would. This is a horrible company with horrible techs. When I set the appointment I asked the lady if it would be alright if my 15 year old son was the only one home at the time and she said yes. I asked AGAIN the day of the appointment when they called to tell me he was on his way. Next thing I know - the tech comes to my door and when my son answered (who is 15 but 6 foot tall and BIG) he asked him how old he was. My son told him and then I the tech told him "Oh, you can't let me in. What if I was a robber or a murderer". REALLY, you're going to say something like that?? Then, instead of calling me and telling ME that they needed someone 18 or older at the house - the rep proceeds to KNOCK on my NEIGHBORS doors until he finds someone home and has THEM come over to my house. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? That is the RUDEST thing! I rushed home right before he left and expressed exactly how I felt about him. He was rude to my face and I had to ask him to leave my property 4 times. I have a call into the manager but of course no return phone call yet. AND the carpet looks horrible. They did a great job. I purchased a Groupon and they cleaned 3 rooms and did a fantastic job. I had multiple doggy stains from my little Pomeranian all over. The stains are gone and carpet looks great. Be prepared for them to offer other extra services such as treatment chemicals for stains, bacteria, etc. They're just doing their job, but be prepared and ready to decide if you want the extras or not. Results are perfect. No more stains, carpets clean! read more

Got a DealSaver coupon from Star Telegram and this is the second time (1st time was a house cleaning deal) that i've had trouble with the Business. Their customer service woman is very had to understand. Made an appt for between 2-4 and the guy pulls up at 4 and then leeaves!! WTF! No call nothing.
