food: 50/50 service: 25/25 ambience: 25/25 total: 100/100 The Dirty Apron Delicatessen gives Sur La Table before it blew up, minus the kitchen products, add the food & snacks. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage and an oat milk cappuccino. Both delish! I loved the lighting and the plants in the space-- warm and inviting truly the best way to start the day.

Great food & loved the setting. Staff was really nice & allowed us to linger w our little ones after they'd stopped serving lunch. Would love to take a class there some day

What a gem of a place! My fiancé and I were staying in an Airbnb down the street. Originally I wanted to visit Jam Café, but we slept in and the line was way too long. Fortunately there was no line at Dirty Apron, and I might have enjoyed my experience there a little more than I did at Jam Café later in the week. I ordered the avocado toast, while my fiancé got huervos rancheros. Living in San Francisco, I've had a lot of avocado toast, but this one took the cake. I wanted to cry out of happiness at how good it was. My fiancé wasn't particularly hungry so I finished half of his dish too. Tasty! Too bad our schedule was filled for the weekend, otherwise we would have taken cooking classes! I was tempted to buy the cookbook but resisted due to lack of luggage space. At any rate, I would go out of my way to come back to Dirty Apron on my next trip to Vancouver. From sandwiches to coffee, this place has it all!

This turned out to be a great find. We were on our way to a downtown hotel and planned to stop by another place for lunch but the line was too long - so we found the Dirty Apron near by and made a quick decision. We were greeted by extremely friendly and hospitable staff answering all of our questions and providing great recommendations. My bride went with the Salmon Biscuit ($9) and loved it! My son and I both went with Dirty Deal options ($16) which were great values including a side and a drink. My boy selected Thai Beef Sandwich and Roasted Tomato Soup of the day and seemed to enjoy it. I went with the Roasted Chicken sandwich and Orzo salad. The sandwich was tasty (loved the baguette) and the salad was very good - as my family kept stealing bites. Very casual and laid back atmosphere - all while a cooking school was going on next door. Definitely recommend this spot.

We got down 'n' dirrrty with The Dirty Apron...okay no, we didn't, but I just felt like saying that! In reality we had good, clean fun and a delicious (and nutritious) meal here! I can say with confidence and a happy belly that this is one of my favorite eateries in all of Vancouver! My husband and I flew into town for a long weekend and literally walked off the Canada Line subway from the airport and straight over to The Dirty Apron (our flight landed at 10:19am, so breakfast/brunch was our first mission!). Our order: - Green Machine Smoothie Bowl (absolutely delicious and artfully topped with granola, shredded coconut, chia seeds, slivered almonds, blueberries, sliced banana and strawberries, and grapes...yes, grapes! I never thought of putting grapes on my smoothie bowls before, and I loved it!) - Hummus & Avocado Grilled Sandwich (super fresh and tasty, and the perfectly toasted sourdough bread was light and smelled amazing!) - Last but not least, our 2 Almond Milk Lattes, poured into a pair of beautiful ceramic mugs and saucers I might add...I almost wanted to buy them! We loved the healthy and vegetarian/vegan options here and looking around at all the attractive items to buy to spruce up your home or kitchen. The fact that they also offer cooking classes here has us thinking that we'll be signing up on our next trip back to Vancouver!

Yum, yum, yum. The menu ain't voluminous nor ultra-chic. The comfort food recipes are honest, tasty and will make your tastebuds and belly sing with happiness. Bambie and me deliberately were headed for Jam cafe located 100 steps away. Made a special effort to get there. Upon arrival at 10am there was a line of 40 people out on the sidewalk in the pouring rain waiting for tables. How do I put this delicately? Oh, that's fucking ridiculous. No cafe is worth waiting 90 minutes to enter. We backtrack to Dirty Apron. "It's a cooking school", I tell Bambie. "They are going to be sincere, motivated, and try hard to please". I was right on that prediction. There was just one person in front of us at the order line. In 2 minutes we ordered and paid. Ten minutes later the food arrives. The portions at first glance seem small, but our eyes were deceived. The amount of food of the salmon biscuit and the avocado toast was quite adequate. The side order of bacon, 5 slices, was thick cut, succulent, sweet and juicy. I'm 66 years old, the bacon might be the most delicious I've ever eaten. We finished with macchiato coffees. They also were great quality, as good as most in Italy. Prices while not bottom dollar are fair. Well, maybe my bottle of kombucha at $7 is priced a tad too high. The meal tariff before kombucha was about $25 Canadian. The lunch salads and pre-made sandwiches were being put in the display cases while we finished breakfast. They all look scrumptious. If I lived here in Vancouver, this place would be a regular eatery for me. There are two culinary arts colleges close to my home in Sonoma California, neither of them produce food as delicious and eye pleasing as the Dirty Apron. Bravo students! Well done. Excellent job.

We had a great experience here. We had walked by it on one of our tours of downtown Vancouver, and then one morning we were headed for the Jam Cafe, just up the street. After seeing a huge line of people waiting to get in there, and in the rain as well, we looked at each other and said "absolutely no way"! Neither of us are the type to wait in lines for anything. We knew there had to be something just as good close by. So we backtracked and saw the Dirty Apron. We also realized it is a cooking school and they served breakfast. We peaked in and were intrigued. The menu is small, but oh so delicious! I ordered the wonderful avocado toast with egg, and it was served on the most wonderful thick slice of sour dough bread. Hubby Tom ordered the salmon biscuit which was served on a large homemade biscuit, smoked salmon, lots of avocado and an egg. We decided to share the the smoked bacon, and it was by far some of the best bacon either of us have ever had. They also serve all sorts of coffee drinks. While we were finishing up, they started bringing out all the lunch offerings into the display cases. The sandwiches looked awesome as well as the beautifully made salads. Our bill for the breakfast for 2, plus the macchiato coffees, apple juice, and kombucha was quite reasonable. I wish we had a place like this in our home town of Sonoma County, California! I highly recommend the Dirty Apron!

Cute little spot without long lines and with with great eats, fresh ingredients at super reasonable costs in a clean, sweet environment. NOT A RESTAURANT more an in/out deli with tables but very fresh, yummy and fast. My gravlox biscuit was a bit bland because the tomato was too large compared to the gravlox so it drowned out the gravlox taste, but my cappuccino was amazing and for the intimate space and the price (biscuit was around $4.75 US and fresh baked, with homemade gravlox), one can't be too choosey. I mean, seriously. This place exists in Canada. I love Canada. We grew weary of the line next door and were very hungry so bumbled in here and were delighted. Travelers - check out their website in advance - they offer cooking classes and great starters and rubs and cookbooks and whatnots. The donuts looked so divine. Fish & Chips apparently sell out fast, so be there at 11:15.

My adorable 79yo mom enjoying an excellent avocado toast and cappuccino

Had breakfast here. Excellent avocado toast (generous portion for reasonable price), great espresso drinks, and a delicious smoothie (mango, kale, & other good and healthy ingredients). Place was virtually empty which was odd because a place this good should be packed! But maybe we were a little late for the breakfast crowd. There was a kids' cooking class happening at their cooking school next door (you must pass through it to use washrooms). The place is attractively decorated, spacious, and a great menu. Farm-to-table, California cuisine vibes. If I had a place like this in my neighborhood I'd eat there a couple times a week. Highly recommend!

Weekend all about brunch and almost all popular locations in Vancouver is filled with long line ups. But I am about to introduce you one with the minimal lineup and affordable, delicious breakfast/brunch. The Dirty Apron Cooking School, Delicatessen & Catering locates just right next to Jam Cafe on Beatty Street. They are known for cooking classes, but do you know they also serve amazing breakfast on weekdays and Saturdays? The Dirty Apron is steps away from the Stadium-Chinatown station, and they offer breakfast and lunch on weekdays, and breakfast until 2 pm on Saturday. We went on last Saturday at 12 pm, and they are having a cooking class in the kitchen. The delicatessen is on the left, where you can find gourmet sandwiches, specialty coffee, hot lunches, and unique ingredients. It is spacious, with a quaint and relaxed ambiance. With the server's recommendation, we ordered the Salmon Biscuit and Sausage Biscuit. The biscuit is made in house, and I don't know what to expect until I tried it. Salmon Biscuit comes with avocado, tomato, salmon gravlax, sunny-side-up egg, with a lemon chive mascarpone. I first tried a bite of the housemade biscuit with a spread of the mascarpone, and it was heavenly delicious. The egg yolk juice is soaked into every layer, and that's the way I like it. The biscuit has a flaky outer shell, just like a croissant, but with a soft center. It is buttery, and the lemon-chive mascarpone works well on the biscuit. It is refreshing and creamy. I think I can eat the biscuit on its own! There is nothing better than a breakfast simple but delicious like this. Sausage Biscuit is similar, except with Mennonite sausage and no lemon-chive mascarpone. They cut the sausage in half, so you can enjoy all the ingredients in one bite. The sausage has crispy skin, and I think it did a good job of dominating the dish, and Mr. enjoyed it. *** Overall Impression *** It was my second time coming to the Dirty Apron, and they never disappoint me. Both Salmon Biscuit and Sausage Biscuit are heavenly delicious, and I promise you won't be able to get better biscuits elsewhere. I also enjoyed the ambiance here, which I am surrounded by chatters and laughter. Everyone is taking their time to enjoy every bit of the food. If you are in this area, I highly recommend trying this place, where you can sip on a coffee and enjoy a simple breakfast at your own pace. Taste: 5/5 * Service: 5/5 * Ambiance: 4.5/5 * Quality-Price: 5/5

We came here for breakfast because the line at Jam Cafe next door was too long. The cashier at Dirty Apron was really nice and helped us select our breakfast items. We got the Sausage and Egg Biscuit, Breakfast Burrito, and a coffee. Both were good but the biscuit itself was too much. I wish there was more sausage and just half a biscuit. The burrito would've also been better with more fillings.

Decided to try this place after all the great reviews on here. However, my friend and I were left disappointed. It's very nice cafe with a great selection and the staff were very friendly. The lunch special is also a good deal ! You get a sandwich, soup, and a drink for about $17! I got the confit albacore tuna and the flavours didn't really work for me. The fish was not what I expected and it was way too saucy. My friend got the roast chicken baguette and it was shredded chicken with mayonnaise. The chicken was quite bland itself. I would say give it a try but I probably won't return !

    Breakfast sandwich, recommended!
