Veggie bowl with over easy egg
James R.

Quaint little place. There are about 6 tables inside and three outside. I did a to-go order this morning. Restraunt was clean and not packed at 11am. It does not have a huge menu but does have vegan options. If you leave hungry, it is your fault. Portions are large. Definitely a good place for breakfast.

This is one of the few places that was open on a weekend for breakfast in the downtown area. I got here early right when it opened and had no trouble ordering and getting a seat. The food took a while to come out, but when it did, it was fairly good. The restaurant filled up fast and by the time I left, there was a line out the door.

In full transparency we came here because the other two restaurants we had in mind had long lines. Then, we appended to take a chance on this place and discovered it had decent review. Seating here is very limited and while the menu is small it has many excellent options. Staff is fairly hands off, they are not overly welcoming and don't really check in on you once your food is delivered. They do; however, pressure you to leave once you have finished eating, quickly clearing the table. All that aside the food was tasty as was the coffee and once you order at the counter and are seated, the food comes out relatively fast. This is impressive considering all drinks are made to order as are the food options . I had the Breakfast bowl be it was cheesy and delicious with a perfectly poached egg and tasty hollandaise sauce. I also had an Americano which was piping hot and very tasty. There aren't any frills about this place salt and pepper were actually empty at the table and I had to flag someone down for cream and sugar. But it's a great spot overall and I'd return if in the area again. Also, street parking is easy!

Le Petit Belge consistently has high-quality food and service and a lively ambiance. Every time I go, the food is delightful, and the service is fast and friendly. So, if you are looking for a good place for brunch but don't have much time, then Le Petit Belge may be a great place to start.

This place is a small but in demand breakfast nook. There's a good reason for that - it is absolutely delicious. My wife and I enjoyed breakfast here a couple of days ago, and we decided to split orders of salmon Benedict and crab Benedict, both being served over a bagel rather than the beautiful waffles they had, simply because that is our preference. The service was fast, the tables were clean, and the food was delicious. Service was impeccable, and the staff could not be more polite. The chai lattes also rounded out the meal very well, and overall, we felt this was one of the better breakfast that we have had in recent years. Highly recommended for people living in and visiting Vancouver. we will be back!

Came here for breakfast while in Vancouver based on the suggestion of a family member who lives here. It is a very small place and can be crowded so be prepared to wait for a little. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The food is very good. The Belgian waffles are delicious- not hard, but slightly crispy outside and soft and airy on the inside. I'd definitely come back if I was from the area.

Hot breakfast

This breakfast spot was close to our hotel so we decided to give it a try. You have to order at the counter and then you take a seat. We had the hot breakfast and the breakfast bowl (without the hollandaise and arugula. Both were very good! The smashed potatoes have great flavor and the sausage is also very flavorful. It's a small place that doesn't take reservations but I recommend giving it a try when you are in town.

Cute little spot across the street from our Hotel. We had the salmon benny on waffles. SO GOOD! It smells amazing in there! The fresh waffle smell fills the air. Makes it so hard to choose what to get. All of the breakfast items we saw looked amazing. Would definitely go back again!

Great breakfast LOL IT WAS desert Waffle with fruit Place is good, but a little expensive. I got a fresh glass of orange juice and it was a lot.

This place deserves a 10 star! The best waffles I've had my entire life. The coffee and fresh juices were also appreciated. My daughter also loves the smashed potatoes. 10 on 10 on the waffles both savory and sweet.

This place has the most incredible breakfast! The waffles melt in your mouth. It's light and fluffy yet crisp. The hollandaise sauce tastes amazing. I am picky about hollandaise sauce and this passed the test. They know how to make their bacon! It's not too crisp and it's not too underdone. My only complaint is the coffee has no free refills but it's absolutely smooth and delicious. You can drink a gallon of coffee here it's so good lol! Before your pictures in there enjoying the Great friendly service and casual ambiance.

Dirty Fingerprint on plate (Yummm)
Mori N.

If you consider yourself at all someone who knows and appreciates quality food, you'll want to skip this place. Here's why. The place itself is tiny and not very clean, but I thought maybe it's one of those holes in the wall that just serves amazing food. That wasn't the case. We ordered the Mixed Berry Waffle and the Salmon Benny. Salmon Benny: The dish came with dirty fingerprints on the edge (Yummmm!) The egg came soft, the Salmon was turning colour and tasted unusually fishy (see pic.) The potatoes had brown scrapes on them....not sure if that was seasoning or oven scrapes....let's hope it was seasoning....(see pic.) The Arugula had also gotten rotten and turning yellow. I stopped eating less than half way through....the whole dish was actually disgusting. A few minutes after we left the place.......I started getting a headache and my throat started to burn.... The Mixed Berry Waffle was average, at best. So, the deal with this place is .....you show up...order a new Mercedes Benz, pay for it, sit down and they show up and serve you a rusty bicycle with a tire missing and a torn seat.......they look at you and say, "saddle up buddy and enjoy!." Yup. That pretty much sums it up.

Super cute place! We ordered at the front and then grabbed a seat. Drinks came out super fast and food shortly after. The breakfast bowl was soooo tasty! Can't really go wrong with hollandaise sauce! The staff was very sweet and we got lucky that the place was empty when we showed up around 830am on a Sunday because it was full by the time we left.

Date of visit: May 2025…read more We had a wonderful experience at Chambar attending their Apprentice Dinner. The evening featured a 4-course Nepalese-inspired tasting menu by guest chef Uddhav Neupane, and it was thoughtfully executed from start to finish. It was my first time trying panipuri, and I really enjoyed it--light, flavourful, and a fun introduction to new flavours. All the dishes were delicious and well-balanced, though the portions were on the smaller side, which is understandable for a tasting menu. The dessert was especially memorable, reminding me of porridge from home--comforting and nostalgic, yet refined. What made the experience even better was the atmosphere. We were seated with other guests, which made the evening feel communal and engaging. Overall, it was a great dining experience that went beyond just the food. Highly recommend if you enjoy tasting menus, cultural fusion, and supporting emerging chefs.

This could be the greatest staff in all of Southern BC. Patient, kind, humorous. Not only can they explain the different items and their ingredients, they can describe exactly how it all tastes. To which they are 100% accurate! The six of us played community food, but what's the point here? All the poutine was awesome. Oh well, it's fun to share. Yes, get The Gaucho "Cowboy", but also try the Butter Chicken, Vegetarian Chili and my favourite, the Le Montreal. ALL the poutines rocked! The burgers are juicy and full of flavour. This group has found a way to marry all the flavours so they complement each other all through the meal until the end. Portion size was another crazy, happy surprise. So much so that the cost no longer matters (as you may have guessed, the cost was reasonable). Still, if it's just a couple of you, you might go regular as opposed to jumbo...unless you're thinking late night leftovers. We pigged-out and didn't get a chance to reheat this food. Mistake on my part. 05/25

Service was good, friendly. The restaurant is the same as I recall, clean enough. A little cramped and the seating isnt too comfortable. Its really not a good place to hang out for a long time, but rather sit down, eat, and get out type of place. I had the lavender latte and the Tagine this time. Ive had it before and at least its pretty consistent. Ive tried several other things on their menu in the past too, all pretty solid 4/5. Nothing standout as so amazing to deserve 5 stars, but consistent and tasty. I did have a reservation which they charge $10/person for, purely for donation to a charity and does not contribute to your meal at all, and also nonrefundable. While I find this somewhat annoying, I dont blame them for doing this from a business standpoint. They always have a lineup so there is no shortage of customers for them. There is no reason they need to deal with the headache of a ton of reservations. On the flip side, they honoured my reservation in a very timely fashion and I bypassed the line, so props to them for doing that part right. If you have to park, then you may find street metered parking or use one of the nearby paid lots.

We ordered: fish dip - cured/smoked white fish with onions and capers, served with saltine crackers. The fish was good, but the saltine crackers were nothing special. The Burger - good beef but a bit too salty. Served with cheese and bacon on a bun. No veg. I prefer a classic American style burger personally. The fries were just ok - on the dry side. 3.5/5 Roast chicken - excellent piece of chicken. Perfectly cooked, moist, crispy skin. Excellent sauce and sides. For me this was a 5/5. Duck Breast - nice cook on the duck, solid dish. 4.5/5. Side of Cabbage - 2 quarters of a head, grilled with an anchovy sauce. Actually quite nice if you like cabbage. 4/5.
