I don't often go out for brunch but was surprised at how much I liked this place! They do Asian-fusion brunch dishes and I got the beef bulgogi hash while my friend got the traditional omurice. It was a fun, unique place for breakfast. Service was wonderful, they brought coloring pages for the kids. While they don't have a kid menu, the old faithful breakfast was great for them to share. Very nice hospitality and good food. We got a table as soon as we walked in; and they were quite packed on a Friday morning. Clean, cozy and simple decor. My only constructive feedback would be table spacing; it was quite tight and I could barely move, as the person behind me needed more space, so he'd had taken some of my space, which I didn't mind at all but I felt a little stiff not being able to move my chair and worried that I'd make the other person feel uncomfortable if I did. I wasn't quite sure about their "fresh squeezed orange juice" - I saw them pour it in a glass from a bottle so that got me concerned because it did not seem like it was freshly squeezed. I had to ask because I cannot do added sugars, they confirmed there wasn't any sugar or additives. I believed them and drank it, it was delicious! My only constructive feedback here would be to scrap of "freshly squeezed" from the menu, as it is misleading. Other than that, good food and very good service. read more

A hipster brunch place that serves good quality, fresh, and creative dishes. We've been here twice, and we were impressed by the duck confit, gluten free waffles, chicken sausages, and the homemade jam. I usually dislike jam, but their jam is absolutely delicious. Coffee is good, too. Service is chill and friendly. Portions are very decent. The oil they use to fry eggs tastes good and clean. I cannot stand the bad oil taste from a lot of other diners. TL:DR : Just like every brunch place around, the prices are steep, but the food is good. Biggest Ick, the coffee is not included with coffee( thats fine) BUT it costs 4.50$! This place I would say might not be everyone's cup of tea (pun intended....why not.) I'll tell you why. It's a very local hipster style join, and you can feel it by first walking in. They are welcoming and friendly, but the standard and quality entirely reflect your typical even stereotyped neighbourhood diner. Sometimes, with places like that, standards tend to slip, because the majority of diners who tend to be locals choose to love the place in spite of its quirks. It was a very wet day that morning and naturally the floor was wet and I nearly slipped inside. Perhaps mop the floor dry when mother nature decides to join us inside? I wanted a latte and asked our friendly server if he'd recommend a second shot as I like my coffee strong, and I was told it already came with two shots. It didn't. It was one shot at most.....and tasting mainly of just hot soy milk made into a pretty shape. Personally, I don't care how pretty my morning coffee is....it could look like a troll, but if it's strong...it's got my vote. Moving on...... The Egg Avocado Toast was ok....some red onions, radish and drizzles of balsamic on there. I tend to gravitate more toward a "less is more", and "minimalist" but quality approach. So, I could've gone without the fresh onion and balsamic on my palate first thing in the morning. You know, when I was in college I remember every serving job I had.....we had to clean the table with both a wet cloth and a dry one... to ....well....dry it. We randomly popped into this place while browsing Granville for a quick lunch. We were seated right away inside. We ordered the Smoked steelhead lox salad and the Hipster Benedict (sorry! No pictures). The salad was quite tasty and the crispy soba noodles added a nice crunch. The Benedict was also very good with eggs perfectly cooked. I usually don't order drinks but the Ube Latte intrigued me, so I ordered it. I don't want to say it changed my life but I did find myself googling a recipe for an ube latte so I could try and make it at home. It was so delicious! I visited Breakfast Table with some colleagues this morning and we had a great experience. The coffee was excellent as usual (always perfectly done, never bitter). I had the beef brisket benedict special with four poached eggs on top -- lots of protein to help me through my upcoming fast Lol. Solid enough breakfast/brunch spot with a single vegan option. I decided to do an UberEats order for brunch one day -- the order was on my doorstep half an hour later. I got their vegan fried daikon cake and tofu bowl ($18.50 plus tax and UberEats fees). The bowl was decently structured, with tofu, daikon, avocado, sprouts, cherry tomato, edamame, and served over rice. I'd say too much deep fried stuff -- between the deep fried tofu and deep fried daikon, it was fairly oily/deep fry-heavy. Still, the mix of different items was good, but missing some greens I'd say. The sauce they drizzled over the bowl was nice. All in all, decent bowl, but I'd design the bowl quite differently if it were up to me. read more

Parking along the street was $7/Hour - meaning 14-21 depending if you needed 2 or 3 hours for your experience - there is some free residential parking further along the way - that you could attempt to get - but it will probably give you a 10-15 walk to the restaurant - and for a rainy day that wasn't the plan xD 2. Looking online it showed there was a long queue. But when I drove by it didn't seem to be too busy so we popped in and luckily we were seated right away. The coffee crusted pork belly eggs benedict was perfect. Since after covid when I eat pork it has an off putting taste, but surprisingly this did not. Had a great Sunday brunch experience at Breakfast Table! Breakfast Table is located on Granville and is a great option for a brunch place if you're in the area. We did end up putting our names down on the Yelp waitlist and there is generally always a wait time to get in. I got the Beef Bulgogi Hash which was extremely flavourful! It came with sides of steamed veggies, eggs and potatoes. Overall this is a great option, my only criticism being the steamed vegetable were not as flavourful and I'm not sure if they were the best pairing with the beef bulgogi. I also got their homemade Irish cream with coffee which was fantastic! Service was quick and personable, our hostess took good care of us. read more

Went to Vancouver last weekend and my boyfriend discovered this place to try! It's very popular -- we came here on a Sunday! It's worth it for the wait. They have unique menu items and beverages. I've never had savory French toast before (just the simple French toast egg whip-up at home). Visited this spot when it was Ouisi Bistro prior to 2020. The Breakfast Table always seems to be busy, having eaten there now I understand why. This popular south Granville brunch spot is a good alternative to Cafe Barney across the street. Their only other real competitor is Heirloom - which has much less non-vegan options and terrible toast (unless you like very grainy, tree bark and horrible homemade jam). The first thing we noticed was the volume/acoustics, likely the result of high ceilings and busy tables. The layout allows for some breathing room, standard tables of 2 can be pushed together for larger groups. As expected the menu is mostly breakfast and brunch options, there is a scannable online menu with full selection plus a daily special. Service was prompt, we were seated right away and the tables and space were immaculately clean. Very good hospitality from each staff we spoke to. Food came up quickly, generous portions, warm and very tasty. We had classic eggs Benny and croque madame, side of toast, OJ and Americano. The portions were so big we couldn't eat everything. There were a good number of great options, including vegan choices, it had hard to choose just one. Jam with toast was fresh and seemed to be home made and very good. Been wanting to try this cute brunch place in South Granville and finally did when I had a friend visiting from out of town. I ordered the chicken karaage hash (why wouldn't you?) which is what they're famous for, it was delicious. Fried chicken and hash brown, pickled veggies and spicy kick a$$ chili sauce, need I say more? Must try altho it's so hard to not order something fried. Also my friend ordered the ube latte (does not have caffeine) and it was so good, so I got one too but as dessert as we asked for it to be half sweet and with oat milk. Our food took a long time after we ordered but we were catching up but it ended up being a longer brunch than we anticipated. Apparently this is the best brunch place in Fairview ... probably because it's the only major brunch spot in Fairview. I've been here a few times and the lines are always super long (like 1 hour plus wait time) on weekends. The service is pretty fast but the restaurant is pretty packed and loud when it's full so you don't really get to stay and enjoy the company of your friends/family. The food is good but nothing to write home about, I enjoyed the buttery English muffin and their eggs are always done well. Better than a chain like Cora's or OEB but not as good as Jam Cafe or Stable House which is a couple blocks away. read more

It's so rare to find a brunch spot with an Asian flare, and especially one that does it well, but I had a great experience at Breakfast Table. My friend and I came for brunch on a Thursday, around noon, and had to wait maybe 10-15 minutes. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday... They have a number of normal brunch options such as benedicts and omelettes, but I was very intrigued by the beef bulgogi hash ($18), so I went with that and substituted rice for an extra $1. It comes in a bowl and is served with two eggs, sauteed mushroom and spinach, seasonal veggies, and chili sauce. Normally kimchi is included as well but I asked for it to be removed as I'm not a huge fan. The seasonal veggies for the day were beets, carrots, and zucchini. I thought everything was fantastic, except that the bulgogi was way too salty. I think I was unlucky and got a batch had been marinated with a very heavy hand on the salt. Luckily I had rice to eat it with, and when I explained to our server about the situation, he first asked if I wanted to order anything else instead, and when I said no, promptly provided a second bowl of rice free of charge. The service was great from start to finish. Overall I really enjoyed this meal. Except for the saltiness and the fact that I ate way more rice than I was planning to, I actually really liked the bulgogi. The flavor was good and the meat was tender. The seasonal veggies also tasted very fresh. I was afraid the chili sauce would be spicy, since I have very low spice tolerance, but it wasn't spicy at all even by my standards. My friend ordered the vegetarian omelette and thought it was just okay. Street parking nearby on Granville is all metered. We tried to come here one time before and the lineup was about half an hour... but we vowed to come back again. So here we are! I asked Michael (think he might be the owner?!?) as he helped us with our order. I was torn between the beef bulgogi hash or the korean style 'kalbi' short rib Benedict. He quickly recommended the beef bulgogi hash and I agreed. "Did you want the shiitake xo fried rice?" ABSOLUTELY!!! And with poached eggs (so I could have this "benedict" style. It has been a long time since I've been wowed by a dish... and this is it. WOW!!! The bulgogi was perfectly seasoned with that touch of sweetness that you love with a beautiful contrast of that sour spicy kimchi. The xo fried rice was fantastic and would have been delicious to eat on its own. And the eggs were beautifully poached with that luscious egg hold creating that lovely sauce over top of everything. I'm almost drooling just thinking about it. We also had the poached chicken omelette and in my head the eternal question arise "Which came first?" It really didn't matter because the chicken was beautifully cooked and was juicy, flavourful and tender. But enough about that, I'm back to my bulgogi. My partner and I came here about half an hour after they opened on a Sunday and there was no wait. However within about half an hour, the people started to stream in and the wait was getting longer. By the time we left, I think the servers were saying there was a 50 minute wait. The food, even if you have to wait is well worth it. We got the pork belly benny and the smoked salmon benny and they were both delicious. The salmon and pork belly were very tender and juicy and would recommend both. I also have to give kudos to Breakfast Table on their covid guidelines. Tables were well spaced out, enough table service to make you feel like you were cared for but not too much, and all staff were wearing masks. Will be back again for brunch! read more

We were happy to get a seat at this ever so booked up restaurant. We attempted a few weeks ago doing a walk in but the wait was over 1 hour and I know why after dining here for the first time. We were leaving downtown Vancouver and on the way I checked to see if there was availability on google. I clicked "wait list" and said there was no wait. Due to Covid-19 each table was separated with plexiglass where tables were closer. All staff wore masks. The menu is quite extensive and happy I was able to choose a dish that fit my dietary needs. We love the Korean influence weaved into some of the menu items. We ordered: - beef bulgogi hash - poached egg omelette My hubby had the beef bulgogi hash. He actually said this dish "wowed" his tastebuds and this doesn't happen often. His expression as he devoured the meal got me a bit jealous . He did give me a bite to try and I agree the flavour was to really tasty. I would asked for more but I need to watch sugar intake. I had the poached egg omelette. I eat a lot of omelettes but my goodness, this by far is the best omelette I've ever had! The sundried tomato pesto with the mixture of egg, cheese, spinach and chicken made flavour profile perfect. The chicken had some skin on which gives flavour and juiciness. The sourdough bread (my only bread option under dietary restriction) paired nicely. I would order this dish again! After attempting to get into this place while it was still on Broadway but the 1.5 review chased us away, we had the chance to pop in on the pretty quiet Saturday that was yesterday. I got the beef bulgogi hash ($16.5), while the boyfriend got the Tonkatsu Benedict ($18) and his sister got the hipster benedict. We all got coffees, but after I saw a girl get the thai iced milk tea, I sort of wish I had ordered that! Coffee was solid and free refills. The beef bulgogi hash was flavourful and the eggs cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed my meal, and felt it was very healthy. Loved the kick of kimchi on the side. I didn't really know if I should be tossing everything together or mix and matching it all. Sort of started it off with the latter approach before deciding that mixing it all together would probably result in the best fusion of flavours. The hipster benedict was a generous portion, and what made it hipster was the bacon, avo combo (we think). Pretty standard North American breakfast. Now, the tonkatsu benedict is not a regular on the menu, but was a special item. The pork was tasty, and the benedict good overall. The potatoes were good but the other veggies served on the side didn't wow my boyfriend nor I. With the bulgogi hash, I had the delicious sauce to smother the vegetables in but just on the side without sauce, they were subpar. Nice big space and super friendly staff.
