    Crab sushi and baked oysters
    Holly R.

5 stars for the venue. The smallish upstairs dining room has windows overlooking the sea and the mariner and restaurants across the inlet. It's great for sunsets. There is outdoor seating too, but I didn't see any umbrellas. On the lower level outside there were tables and chairs, a musician, and food trucks surrounding the building. We ordered appetizers and a main course to share. The servers had to be reminded to bring extra plates. A large water bottle is left on the tables so you can pour your own water. There were no crackers or bread to start. I liked that they use real crab in the sushi rolls. The baked oysters were good. The fluke main course tasted fresh. It would have been nicer if the filet wasn't folded over. People told us this is the best place for a fish dinner in Montauk. I don't know if that's true. Overall, we liked it. We thought it was quite good, but not great.

Inlet is located at one of the most beautiful spot in Montauk, NY. I have been there 4 times. The restaurant has an outdoor deck that has a view of the water. I caught a stunning sunset in June 2026. The food is delicious. We had lobster, grilled fish and sushi. I will go back.

Sadly inlet is off my list after visiting several years in a row. We had a group of 10. We called ahead and asked if they could seat us upstairs as the table downstairs we previously were given was loud, very warm and in direct path of sun (we have some people who have had issues with health and sun). They said arrive early at 445. We did. They refused to accommodate seating us upstairs even though there was a way to do it. Eventually they did concede that they could have but a group was now sitting in one of the tables we would have needed. So we ended up baking in the sun downstairs. In an area that is also the loudest in the restaurant (next to bar and near where trays of dishes crash near kitchen). Inlet is always busy and has decent food and nice wait staff so they wont miss us but its sad that they care so little about the comfort of their guests.

I'd heard so much about this place, particularly how great their sushi is, so I was excited to try it last time I was out here. We came here during lunch time and the restaurant had a strange smell to it -- not sure if it was something they used to clean or what. We knew that there had been some issues with boats coming in to deliver seafood the day before and were told that some things were not available -- but wish that we would've been told of things that weren't fresh like the sushi. I ordered the sushi platter and it was so dry and bland, as if the fish had been cut days ago. I ended up not finishing it. The blacked fish bites and the fluke sandwich were decent. The sliced yellowtail was better than the sushi since it had a lot of sauce on it. The clams were the freshest thing we had. Service was slow which was surprising given we were one of two tables in here for lunch. Not really overly impressed.

A hidden gem and so glad it popped up as a recommendation! Their sashimi was some of the windy and biggest pieces we've ever had! We went twice on our trip we liked it so much there

This was such a great restaurant!!! The view here,of course, is stunning!!!! The food was fresh as can be! The mussels with garlic sauce were big and creamy. The raw oysters were great too! We ordered the lobster and it was so fresh! The desserts were a treat as well! But the star here was not the food or view,it was our waiter Kristian. He was such an exceptional server. One of the best I have had. He was very attentive and such a sweetheart. When I come back to this restaurant and he is no longer here,I would be highly disappointed!

A great place for sushi and sunset. The food here is great, the service is good, and the food comes out fast (too fast). The sushi here is as fresh as you can get. Since 1985, the inlet fleet is responsible for 9 million pounds of seafood each year. In 2006, the restaurant was built for the purpose of bringing seafood directly from the boats to your plate. With 85% of seafood coming from overseas, they take pride in serving fish caught off of Montauk the very same day. I got the Ika Salad (marinated squid) which was very good. I did the Sashimi Platter for my main dish which did not disappoint. The ambiance is very casual and good for large groups. They do not take reservations. Waits for a table can be over an hour but it is worth the wait. The only thing I didn't like was that they brought my main dish while I was still in the middle of my appetizer.

Fantastic views from inside or outside. The wait once seated is long but you can watch the boats drift by. Ordered the fluke picatta based on a friend's advice, and it was excellent. Lunchtime was filled with country music. One unpleasant surprise was that after requesting the dessert menu, I needed to use the rest room downstairs, so I left my hat, sunglasses, and sun umbrella at my table, along with the dessert menu. When I returned a few minutes later, the host handed them to me and my place had been cleared! I told her I was not yet finished and resumed my seat. She did not apologize, but at least she didn't seat anyone else there in the meantime. This place has a lot going for it, but they need more staff to keep up with the busy crowds, and please, dear owners, fix the elevator! There were many elderly patrons with mobility issues who would be grateful to save some steps.

A must stop every time I am in Mtk. Whether for lunch or dinner you will have a great meal. I highly recommend their scallop and shrimp penne pasta. It's a huge portion and guaranteed to fill your appetite. Their in house sushi is out of this world too. Service is always great, no matter how busy it is. The closer to dinner time and sunset be prepared for a long wait time as they have a phenomenal sunset view right on the marina water. This time we stopped for lunch and all of our sushi and appetizers were delicious and filling.

Truly, the cocktails and menu at this restaurant are so inventive and flavor packed it feels as if there has to be something supernatural happening in the kitchen and behind the bar. We came here in early May and sat at the bar. Dillon took great care of us, walked us through the menu and made stellar recommendations all around. After having my mind blown by the Everything Bagel Martini, we moved on to share the charred octopus and Leggy's Thighs. The charred octopus was tender, and paired so well with the citrus fruits on this plate, plus the bite of pistachios?! So well put together. Leggy's thighs (RIP Leggy) were literally the best chicken I'd ever had, fall off the bone tender and topped off with flavorful furikake and hot pickled fresno chilis. We also split the Wagyu sando which I'm literally still thinking about. Wagyu on milkbread?! What an excellent idea. Live acoustic music was going on the night we were here which really added to the cozy ambiance. They also have trivia here on Thursdays (Dillon, if you're reading this, we hope your team wins the championship). 10/10 no notes. Come here if you can get a table.

After waiting, we were seated and informed by the hostess that we would have our table until 6:10 PM.We enjoyed our meal and, after finishing dinner, told our waitress that we were not interested in dessert but might order another drink. Instead, she brought us our check. Shortly afterward, a member of management approached us and told us that we needed to pay our bill, despite the fact that we had only been seated since approximately 5:38 PM and had been at the table for about 30 minutes. We were very upset by this experience. We had driven nearly three hours from Nassau County specifically to dine at this restaurant and had also waited an additional hour just to be seated. Being rushed out so quickly, especially after being told we would have the table until 6:10 PM, made us feel unwelcome and significantly detracted from what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. The food and atmosphere were lovely, but the lack of consistency in communication and the pressure to leave our table so soon left a very negative impression. After leaving our table, our table remained emptied for over an hour which showed that they did not need the table immediately.

My non-vegan friends all loved their food as well! She was so kind and even gave us tips on where to go out for my birthday after dinner.
