    Clam Chowder
    Danielle P.

My brother and I were on a nostalgia tour of Montauk, and ended up here after walking around Gosman's Dock. We had wanted to go to what's now Mary Lou's but used to be a restaurant we went to all the time on family vacations. The security guards and swarms of influencers in sparkly dresses and cowboy boots made us quickly realize this wouldn't be an option for dinner. We started walking back toward Gosman's and noticed The Dock tucked away on a side street. We decided to grab a drink at the bar and regroup on next steps. The ambiance here is very casual, its a busy spot with a large indoor bar and a handful of indoor and outdoor tables. Our bartender was a master at tending to the rush and took care of us quickly. While we were deciding what to do next, we made conversation with a local Gosman's fish monger who let us know the food here was worth staying for, and even went as far as to ask one of the staff members for the name of what the restaurant next door used to be for us as we were trying hard to remember. I'm so glad we stayed, because the food was really on point here. Clam chowder was hearty and had plenty of clams. Their steamed clams were incredible, fresh and packed with lots of chopped garlic in a broth that you'll want to drink. The star of the show here is the tuna melt: a giant fresh tuna steak served on an English muffin with cheese and some of the best fries I've had at a restaurant in ages. Glad to have made another core memory here in Montauk at The Dock.

    No services dog

Not dog-friendly at all. Don't come here, even if you have a service dog. Their window sign says "No screaming kids," yet there were still children running around and yelling. They should probably update the sign to also say "No service dogs." On top of that, many of the items listed on the menu were no longer available. Total waste of time coming here. We waited 30 minutes in the cold only to be told we couldn't eat inside or even out on the patio.

We sat outside after about a 30 minute wait, but no complaints it's worth the wait and more! The service was attentive and professional you can tell these are career servers they move like a well oiled machine. Now onto the food, the Jalapeño poppers are 11/10 I would come back just for those. The special fish sandwich was very fresh, light and well done. The mahi mahi bites were breaded and had a buffalo wing vibe but a very generous portion. The nachos were great and the mozzarella sticks were solid. This place has a great local small town vibe and the food is spectacular.

Super solid spot! I love the Phony Negroni. So nice to see non- alcoholic options like that at a divey place. I've had it before and made me so happy to cool off with a mocktail after a hot beach day. Clam chowder and fried calamari were great to start. And the soft shell crab sandwich was really tasty too. The sauce it came with complemented the deep fried crab very nicely. I enjoyed dinner here. The only thing is that it's pricey! $150 for 2 people including tip

Salad was good. Jicama slaw was good. Fried clams were awful. Fried calamari was mediocre. Shrimp was overcooked. Not worth the price.

This place is a good place to find a fisherman, a tuna melt and a sense of humor. I love it and come here every year.

The food was amazing as well.. I never had to ask for a knife and fork for a Hot Dog before, but didn't want to unhinge my jaw to take a bite!- it was righteous !!! the Watermelon puree margarita was my go to drink and I appreciated the lemon/lime water stations inside and out to pace myself from overdoing it.. it helped that the weather was perfect too on the Saturday I went. I will gladly make the trip back, this time with my girlfriend to enjoy a day at Lynn's Hula Hut!! - Top Notch!!

The delicious and reasonably priced food was a forerunner to soak up her incredible award-winning cocktails, most made with Lynn's own proprietary brand of naturally infused spirits, like Lynn's hula juice. Lynn herself is warm and welcoming, getting to know everyone on a first name basis. She makes everyone feel like a regular, whether it's your first visit or your fiftieth. We ordered a ton of food (two-three of a few dishes) which was all very satisfying, but the Branzino stood apart. The striped bass carpaccio was flavorful, but it would have complemented better if it were chopped thinner. The lobster was tender and soft. French fries were nice and crispy thin. I loved the tomatoes (tomates olivettes confites). Cauliflower could have done without as both servings weren't to temperature -- more on the warm side. However, I would recommend just about everything we ordered (see proper French dish names below). Drinks were all good; we just ordered classic drinks/wine/cocktails. Let's talk dessert! We tried everything except the fruit. My absolute favorite was the crepes dentelles! Second favorite, the chocolate ice cream. Beignets were ok, a little too dense inside instead of airy/puffy. And the brioche cake (or tropezienne a la vanille) was sweet - a couple of bites are plenty. French names: Carpaccio De Bar Rayé x2, Gosman's Live Lobster x2, Tomates Olivettes Confites x2, Pommes Frites À L'origan x3, Choux-Fleurs Marinés Et Dorés Au Four x2.

They definitely seemed to have newer staff/be understaffed as it took awhile to place our drink and food orders once we were seated. We ordered a round of drinks, the pineapple vanilla daiquiris are fantastic and my official go to drink when here now. The elderflower martini was good but nothing special. We ordered a bunch of appetizers for our table: clams casino, baked clams, New England clam chowder, fried calamari, and the fried blowfish special. The chowder here is good but definitely needed some additional salt and pepper, but was reasonably priced compared to other restaurants here. The clams casino could have had more clam and less breading but the flavor was decent. The baked clams came out in three larger shells, and the breading honestly tasted like thanksgiving. It was an odd flavor combination but it worked very well. The fried calamari was probably my favorite and the breading was crisp yet minimal with a kick to it. The fried blowfish was decently prepared thankfully we ordered it without the buffalo sauce it came in. It took awhile to get our servers attention, as we had three different ones throughout the course of the meal. We had some completely different younger girl come to check on us and take our second drink order. It took awhile to get the check and pay. But overall a solid 4/5 experience.
