The other day, my family and I took a trip down south and I went back to all my bookmarks and saw that I had bookmarked this cute little bakery for dogs and I'm not gonna go home empty handed, without bringing my favorites back anything. This is not only a bakery, they also sell toys, doggy gear, and other doggy items. It was really hard to decide what to get my pups, everything looked amazing. Don't judge me but, it looked good enough for me to eat haha. They design their doggy cookies with so much care, I mean, seriously speaking... dogs don't pay attention to what their cookies look like and I was rather impressed with all the time and effort they take to design these treats. I purchased some chicken jerky and 3 different kinds of cookies and after my pups have devoured all 3 types of cookies (in moderation of course), I can't tell which ones were their favorite. They LOVED it! They absolutely loved the chicken jerky too. My dogs are picky eaters and sometimes will just sniff goodies given to them and will walk away, but they scarfed down those goodies so I know it's delicious. Carob chip (the acceptable dog alternative for chocolate chip), snickerdoodle, and muffer butter! Every baked good is considered "human grade" which means that technically we can eat these dog products but they wouldn't necessarily taste good... even though they look so tasty! My golden retriever basically inhaled his snickerdoodle and muffer butter cookies in one go, so if you have a bigger dog like me I would suggest buying a couple of them and maybe spacing out the timing so they can enjoy the flavor. They do make custom cakes for your pooch and they're priced from $20-30 depending on size and ingredients. Also featured are some toys and furniture for your little one(s) so I'd say that this is a rather ideal one stop shop in Pasadena. I always drop by here whenever i'm in the area to get a couple braided natural raw hides for my dogs. Yes, I know raw hides aren't good for my dogs and I should get antlers or bully sticks for my dogs, blah blah... I don't like the scent bully sticks produce when my dogs chew on it and it makes my entire house smell like a bull's pee pee. LMAO And my dogs are afraid of the antlers for some reason. *shrugs* So what else can I give my dogs to keep them occupied when I'm not home? Anyways, I'm so glad I dropped by this weekend. There was a buy 3 get 1 free deal for the raw hides and I have two dogs so they both got 2 each. It makes them really happy and raw hides last forever with smaller dogs. Sometimes when my dogs get tired of their food at home, I will try and get some samples from here to let them try it and if they like it, I'll end up getting a small bag for them. They don't always have samples but when they do, it is so appreciated that they're able to provide that to their customers. Wanted to spoil my dog for her 2nd birthday because I'm a crazy dog lady, so I looked for dog cakes in the area. Found great reviews on Yelp for The Dog Bakery, so I decided to give it a chance. I go to Old Town pretty often, so instead of trying to look for street parking near the shop, I knew there was a public parking lot just down the street (at Fair Oaks and Green); if you plan on just being in Old Town for 90 min or less, definitely just park there for free. Like other reviewers have said, they have the heart-shaped and round cakes on hand, but when I was there, someone asked for a wheat-free cake and they said they could make one in 20 minutes. So I wouldn't worry too much about buying one day-of if you're not too picky. I got the peanut butter cake for my dog and used their $10 for $15 Yelp deal. I also checked in for a free Mutter Butter cookie, but when I got home, I found out that I got charged for it. I called to see if they could somehow remediate it over the phone without me having to go back and they quickly resolved it within the same night over the phone. It was great customer service! Needless to say, my dog loves it and she's a small one, so it's going to take her a while to work her way through it. You can freeze it up to a month or keep it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. What we did was cut the cake in half the first day and put half in the fridge and the other half in the freezer since it takes at least 1.5 hours to thaw. read more

The dog I'm caring for is a recent rescue and has been hit or miss in her interactions with other humans and dogs. Nonetheless, she a cutie! We took her here one evening to check out the area and to also get her more used to socializing. She picked out her own little treat and even ran up to the girl manning the shop. The staff here is so incredibly warm and friendly and I think that that attitude helped my rescue pup (actually a fully grown German Shepherd) feel comfortable enough to run up to them! I'm sure that it helped that they had jerky and other dog friendly treats to offer her :) If I ever get my own dog I'll definitely be back! The prices are reasonable and the staff is amazing. Oh my goodness!!! So glad they have such a wonderful thing for our puppy babies. I wanted to celebrate Porkchop's birthday so I decided to give it a shot. My shih-tzu Cinnamon's 1st birthday is coming up and I wanted to spoil her with something special. She is the pickiest dog on earth. She doesn't like your "run-of-the-mill" dog treats. My second time purchasing a doggy birthday cake from the Dog Bakery for Sachi. It was his 5th birthday last weekend and he celebrated with about 10 dogs at his barkday pawty. You can customize your cake with an icing written greeting of your choosing and cake flavor as well. I always get the smallest cake because I'm afraid of giving the dogs too much cake, something that their stomachs are not used to and have messy dookie problems. Lol tmi? Just looking out for the doggies and myself since I will be the one cleaning it up. Since we were in the neighborhood for lunch, our hounds asked us to check this place out and see what the hype is about. Ok! We accepted the challenge, and finding it was somewhat of a challenge because it's not really on Colorado, it's off this little corridor if you're strolling down Colorado. It's very small, but carries tons of pre-packaged and frozen doggie treats as well as some other doggie supplies. And the hype we think is the fresh pastry case! Treats so yummy looking, it's hard to believe they were not prepared for humans! And we are pretty sure these pastries are fresh because we could see the ovens and felt the heat as soon as we walked in. From the prepackaged items, i picked up some Dogsbutter--it allegedly tastes like peanut butter (i will test it later and let you know), and it is beneficial for the canine's skin and coat (might have to keep this one for me!). When you buy one, the company will donate a Dogsbar to a dog in need. My plan was to spread the Dogsbutter on baby carrots and apple slices for a healthy hound snack, but like i said i might have to keep this one for myself ;-). I also grabbed a box of biscuits called Sojos. The box says they are "gourmet" biscuits made with real Duck and Cherries, grain free, all natural. Hmm . . . i see another taste test in my future. Then finally, i made it to every chow hounds fantasy come true, the doggie pastry case! Because i couldn't reach the hounds by cell phone to ask what i should order, a very nice young lady behind the counter gave me some recommendations. I selected 2 s'mores, 2 carrot cakes, and 2 peanut butter bites. As I was paying, a large chocolate lab behind the counter came over to my pastry box and took a huge sniff, licked his chops, and gave me a look of approval. The true test -- we came home, unloaded the goods onto the counter, and the boys sat very nicely as we took a vote to determine which pastry to eat first. S'mores won, paws down! (and i chickened out of this taste test when i had flashbacks of how awful Frosty Paws tasted, but I'm totally trying the carrot cake.) And the results -- the boys loved their s'mores! After he was finished, Charlie had such a funny look of bewilderment. I think the cartoon bubble over his head said, "Holy cow! That was the best thing I ever ate!" On the plus side, you can leave it in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to a month! Just let it thaw for about an hour or so before giving it to your dog. I have had this bakery bookmarked for quite some time now and since it was my brothers' (aka my dogs) birth month, I decided to spoil them with some sweets. Three days prior to Donut's birthday, I had called in to place an order for their custom cake. The staff was very helpful and informative in answering all of my questions which I was very happy about. There are 3 sizes of cakes you can choose from: 5-inch circle shaped, 7-inch circle shaped, or 7-inch bone shaped. Then you choose from the 3 flavors they have: chocolate (carob), peanut butter, and pink coconut. As for the writing on the cake, you can choose to write whatever you want. In my case, I had them write "Happy birthday Cody & Donut". Everything about this cake and my visit to the bakery was great except for when I got home and realized they had spelled my brother's name wrong. His name is Donut but they had added an "S" to the end so it turned into "Donuts". I was slightly upset at first because I had remembered clearly that the staff had double checked with me on the spelling of the names and it was even spelled correctly on my receipt. But oh what heck, it's not like my brothers can catch that and plus the "s" was close to the edge so after a while I just saw it as a curvy exclamation mark. For those of you with smaller dogs or dogs with small appetites, you can save the cake for up to 3 days if you refrigerate it or 30 days if you freeze it. Just leave it out at room temperature for 1-2 hours before serving it to your furry friends. Aside from the incorrect spelling, both my brothers and I loved it here. Came in on Valentines Day, hoping they would have a cake already made! Their website says it takes around 24-48 hours notice. When I got there the location is in a cute alley next other stores. Parking is always a little difficult because it's Pasadena, I went down the alley and found street parking with a meter (pay by phone or coins). Inside it is so chic! They had dog beds, foods, toys, collars, and so much more! It was the cutest thing! I went in looking for a cake and she gave me three options to choose from! How great is that?! I break the cheesy bone into pieces and mixed it with his kibbles and Cooper would pick out all the pieces before eating the kibbles! It's a good appetizer for him. So I decided to buy my dog a birthday cake for his 4th birthday and this was the closest bakery to me. It's located in Old Town Pasadena. It's sort of hidden so it's a bit difficult to find it. It's hidden behind the Cotton On store. I ordered the cake two days prior online and was able to pick it up by noon. The worker was very friendly and nice as well. There are three sizes of cakes to choose from. A 5 in. and 8 in. circle shape cake and then a larger bone shaped one. There are also different flavors you can choose from. I chose the peanut one and my dog loved it! I do have to say that I think the prices a bit high. This place offers unique and tasty treats for our furry loved ones! They have all sorts of dog accessories for different holidays, bagged treats, and very cute bakery treats. We wanted to buy a last minute birthday cake for our dog. Typically, they can customize it in any way you would like if your order online within 48 hours. However, we called in last minute and they were kind enough to accommodate us with a cake they had in the freezer. They were able to decorate it within a few minutes and our dog absolutely loved it! Note: the dog cakes are all made of human grade food so you can try it before giving it to your dog. We personally tried the cake we gave to our dog and it wasn't too bad! (Tip: they also offer shopping for cakes if you order well enough in advance.) They are taking good precautions due to COVID. There is a sign out front telling customers the maximum number of people that are allowed inside. There are also markers on the floor indicating where to stand so that customers are adequately distanced. I appreciated this, considering the store is fairly small and it is quite easy to bump into another customer without these markers. Docking one star due to location. It's located on Colorado amongst all of the shops which is wonderful if you want to go shopping before/after, but very difficult if you just want to go in to pick up some treats for your dog. We had to park at a structure a few blocks away and walk there to pick it up. Even though the display case has all dog treats, they do look quite cute and very similar to some baked goods that you can find in a human bakery. Anyways, later that evening, I gave our dogs their pupcakes and they all devoured it quickly. Most likely were hoping to have more. The reason why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because the prices for these baked dog treats are a bit more than what I am willing to spend on occasion. Also this bakery is somewhat hidden, down an alley way off of Colorado, so can be a little tricky to find. Also the store itself is really small and crowded, not exactly something I would call inviting to bring in your little 4 legged friend, especially if there are other dogs inside. And you know how dogs can be with their personal space sometimes... a dog fight waiting to happen... Overall, cute place to splurge on your dog once in a while... perhaps inspire you to throw a dog birthday party since they do make birthday cakes for dogs and you could always purchase some of the pupcakes and cookie treats as favors for your 4 legged guests to take home in their doggie bag. read more

I was here just yesterday just having lunch with my boyfriend and I wanted to buy a little something for my toy poodle that was turning the big 1! So I came here and ordered the "munchkins" (I think that's what it called, it's 3 balls resembling like Neapolitan ice cream colors) and once we got home they looked weird like with whitish residue on them or growing or something! Very awful! Honestly, I just assumed that's how they are? Idk So both of my puppies smelled it and nothing they left it there! Cute, quaint shop! Hubby and I love to spoil our puppy. On any occasion that we may be going anywhere out of the norm, chances are that if there is anything we can bring home for our pup, we will go there. We've actually been to this location several times. The staff has always been very nice and helpful, and provide great recommendations. It is a small shop, but it is fully stocked with toys, treats, dry food, wet food, accessories, and, of course, their baked goods. Our pup doesn't like anything biscuit-y, so we aren't really able to buy any fresh-baked goods for her. But, she does like their packaged products, such as the jerky. And, at times, they have deals on those packages, so it's a win-win for all of us. Prices are okay. This is specialized for mainly pups, so I can see why prices may be a little high, but it's still pretty reasonable. It is in Old Town/Downtown Pasadena, so parking is pretty easy as long as you hit up a parking structure. read more
