Ambiance -3 stars, nothing fancy here...a pretty big U shaped bar and a bunch of tables, keno, but it's clean! Service- 5 stars, we've always had excellent service. Drink menu- 5 stars, full bar with plenty of choices ( there wasn't a bar on my first review) Beer menu- 2 stars, my husband said anyone who loves IPA's might give more stars. Food- 5 stars, the food is very good and they honestly have the best clam chowder (still) that I've ever tasted! So we've been coming here often in the last year (or their food truck), so I'll give them 4 stars instead of the 3 that would be the average for the stars. Please add some more craft beers that aren't IPA's!!

I ordered my food, got home and realized they forgot a couple things. No biggie, went back and they apologized. What I didn't know right away was that they double charged me. The next day I sent a message and was told they'd investigate it. Ok, great. Days went by and nothing. I sent another message and nothing. I'll say the food is good (reason for the two stars) we'll never go back again though especially if they can't even give me my money back from over charging me. Apparently this has happened to a few people I know as well. So, if you eat here, make sure you check your prices!! Unfortunately the receipt doesn't show each price of your food. Just shows you the grand total of everything. Just BEWARE!

Either way.... they find new and improved ways to disappoint our delivery service. Quite a few times I have found hair in my food. That should have been it- especially since they promised to send us a gift card, even though they never did. This particular time? They sent us a JOKE of a meal consisting only of a sad, lonely piece of a fish triangle in a lonely, floppy corn tortilla. No cabbage. No condiments. Just a SAD piece of "Baja" fish for $17. The one star is because I couldn't vote zero. And if I had to give ONE redeeming factor, it would be their delicious guacamole. I'll give them that. Wish these were more options in our town! Luckily- the delivery services are starting to offer more

I've been to Mexicali 4 times so far. The good news: ambiance is great, staff is always attentive,…read moreseating/dining area always clean, restrooms clean. Ceviche tastes fresh, guacamole is fresh, salsa is pretty good (I like a watery salsa), chips pretty good, mixed drinks (Paloma and margaritas) are good enough, chicken tortilla soup is filling. None of this is so good that I would recommend driving 15 minutes + out of your way for, but decent enough. The downside: most of the food is lackluster. Tamales: dry (thank God for the watery salsa); rice and beans: dry, with beans slightly on the flavorless and burnt side; the burritos: vegetables are fresh, but meat always tastes dry (chicken) or slightly flavorless (beef), (thankfully most burritos served with a cheese sauce as well, but the lettuce and tomatoes that are served with it are always cheap and flavorless); enchiladas: one-note, the salty sauce and cheese covers up other flavors ( if there even are any); tacos: forgettable and one-note in flavor (needed guacamole, salsa and hot sauce to provide any depth of flavor); street corn: a complete joke, and covered with a mayonnaise-like condiment containing Sazon. For entertainment, order the street corn! Ask them to split it in two so that it can be for two people. Depending on who the chef or waitress is this could turn into an interesting conversation (about whether corn can be split in two vertically, seriously- the waitress left our table and returned asking if we meant split a cob of corn vertically or horizontally). She then stared in wonderment at us when i said "we just want 2 portions"; i felt like i was making an Abott and Costello bit, when she replied "sooooo, two orders split in half or what do you mean?". I mean one ear of corn cut in half so one person can have one half and another person can have one half. She nodded in amazement, saying that it would be really hard to cut an ear of corn in half but maybe if the chef has a good knife, maybe this amazing half corn could happen. Then it arrives, yes split horizontally in two, she looked very proud. Now, what's supposed to make street corn street corn is that it's grilled and seasoned, then covered in a Mexican crema and cotija cheese topping with lime and onions. Mexicali boils their corn in unsalted water, doesn't usually cut it in half or season it afterwards, leaves the corn probably for the whole shift so that each of the kernels gets really shriveled and dry like an old raisin, then coats it with mayonnaise and sprinkles Sazon on it. It's an entertaining experience, if nothing else. Definitely have an adult beverage- at least those will have flavor and hopefully make the whole experience fun/worthwhile!

I'm a tough critic when it comes to food, and they get no notes from me. Every dish was a standout. I've never heard of a scallop roll before, but I want 3 more of them right now. Shuckin Truck was an absolute hit! They set up the outdoor raw bar...clams (littlenecks), oysters, and shrimp on ice, in a very attractive manner. The table was manned by a charming "shucker". There were an assortment of passed hors d'oeuvres which included lobster grilled cheese lobster triangles...these were indescribably delicious. Everyone was oohing and aahing over these. I also loved the smoked salmon on toast and the small cups of really tasty clam chowder. All the appetizers were incredibly delicious although I would say the lobster grilled cheese was the biggest hit. All of the staff were polite and friendly. After the appetizer round, the lobster rolls came out and they were simply spectacular. They were true New England lobster rolls on toasted square edged (this is key) frankfurter buns, and absolutely stuffed with chunks of delicious lobster meat that had been lightly dressed with mayo. Those rolls were out of this world, deliciously prepared and very generously filled with sweet lobster meat. They also served fabulous fish tacos. For the non-seafood eaters of which there were none at this party, they served a pulled pork taco which was spicy and delicious. The portions were generous and the food just kept on coming out. While there was plenty of additional food at this party from other vendors as well as some homemade additions, Shuckin' Truck was my favorite part of the overall feast. Great job! I would not hesitate to hire them for a party or to seek out the food truck wherever it was parked!

Cousins Maine Lobster is a chain of food trucks with multiple sit down restaurants across the US,…read moreand this particular truck travels around East and Central Massachusetts. We spotted it at a local stop and decided to grab a quick seafood meal without committing to a full sit down restaurant. The menu is centered around lobster in just about every form imaginable, from rolls and bisque to tacos and grilled cheese, making it a convenient option when the truck happens to be nearby. We ordered the lobster roll and clam chowder. The lobster roll was good overall, though it came out a little smaller than expected given the price. The lobster itself leaned more toward claw meat rather than the larger tail pieces some people associate with a traditional New England lobster roll. The flavor was still solid, with fresh tasting lobster throughout, but the roll came with less butter than we anticipated, resulting in a lighter and less rich presentation than we were hoping for. The clam chowder ended up being the stronger of the two items. It was creamy without being overly heavy, with a good balance of clams and potatoes, and worked especially well alongside the lobster roll. Together they made for a satisfying meal that delivered the classic seafood combination most people are looking for from a lobster focused stop. The experience here is ultimately about convenience and consistency. When the truck is nearby, it offers an easy way to grab a lobster roll and chowder without making a trip to the coast. The prices reflect the reality of lobster, but for a quick seafood fix on the go, it gets the job done.

Properly selected cheese complimented the flavor of the lobster. 2/10 Shrimp tacos were a joke, the shrimp was minuscule and tasted like they had been fried then sitting for days. I thought I was being pranked. I couldn't believe it. I wanted my money back for them. But didn't even bother. If they fix the shrimp the potential is there, not sure it's shrimp? I visited the Soulfully Vegan's stand at the Big E last night, and let me tell you, it was an experience that changed my life! We had the chance to meet Alison, one of the co-owners of this amazing truck. She was super friendly and had this warm energy about her. She answered all our questions, and I really appreciated that. Now, I usually don't eat anything when I go to the Big E because everything there is deep-fried and heavy. But this truck totally changed my mind. I was curious about the big dog, which is a vegan hotdog with vegan cheese, vegan bacon, and jalapeños. I was surprised to learn that all the meats and cheeses were vegan. (I know that probably sounds silly considering it's a vegan truck, but that's is such a rare find in Massachusetts.) I'm not a vegan, but I do enjoy vegan products. I don't eat pork or beef products, so I can't usually eat hotdogs when I go to Fenway or any other event. But the big dog exceeded my expectations! Every bite was a chef's kiss. The hotdog tasted authentic, with a perfect balance of saltiness. The crispy bacon, evenly spread cheese, and the perfectly warmed bun all complemented each other, creating a harmonious symphony of flavors. Alison was so sweet that she even offered us a strawberry milkshake. The strawberry milkshake was hands down the best milkshake I've ever had. The consistency was ideal for a milkshake. It was the ideal level of sweetness and the little chunks of strawberry sent me over the edge. I thought I was going to die and go to heaven. I cannot say enough good things about their food and customer service. If you plan to go to the Big E or venture to central Connecticut, then you have to stop by and check them out. I hope this business continues to thrive! I can't wait for you to open a truck or spot in Boston. I'm sending you all of my good vibes and manifesting it for both of us!

Called him on the phone to see why he never showed, and he claimed to have not written it in his book. He said this had never happened before and he would make it up to me. Ok fine, mistakes happen. Give him the benefit of the doubt and book him for our block party two weeks later. Because of the no show the first time I sent a confirmation email the day before the event and he confirms that he will be there. But once again, NO SHOW. We had kids in tears because we promised an ice cream truck and no one arrived. I am completely shocked that a business could be so unprofessional. Despite multiple confirmations and affirmations that he would be at two separate parties, he never showed. So two times in less than a month he was a no-show. I would suggest using a different company if you want the ice cream truck to actually come to your party. I would never have left this review if this were a one time event, but for it to happen to the same person two times is a trend. Obviously we will never use them again and I would warn people about using them too.
