Miss Cathy and her entire staff are absolutely AMAZING and always do a great job on my 4 dogs. We have 4 shih tzus and they love the dog spa 1. The owner Cathy Or Kathy and her groomers certainly are great at grooming my pups. The spa is clean and tidy. Unfortunately Kathy can become quickly angry and outspoken when she feels she is being questioned or corrected. We were recently "fired"because we were 15"late. Do not go to this place unless you want unsolicited advice regarding how you're taking care of your abused rescue dog. Apparently it's absolutely disgusting to walk your dog on a retractable leash so make sure your dog is on a short lead if you don't want to get harassed by the staff there, especially Cathy who thinks her opinion is warranted when not prompted. Took my sweet dog in yesterday for her second grooming. It smelled so good in there. It's not a fancy place, but I don't need it to look fancy as long as my dog gets good care. I loved the results once again. Winter weather means extra dry skin for my pup, despite excellent diet and care. Dog Spa used shampoo and double conditioning to address her needs. Upon request, they also ground her nails after clipping. The extra charge? Zero. "That's just who we are," they said. I tipped extra. I'm sold. read more

I love taking my dogs here! The staff is so kind and knowledgable. One of my dogs is very timid and Kathy was so patient with him and gave me tips on how to make him feel more confident. My other dog Lucy LOVES going to see these ladies! I tell her she's going to the spa and she gets all excited!! I started using The dog spa 1 when i moved into my new house. Elsa my dog has had 3 visits now and today would of been her 4th. My appointment was at 11:45. Just morning they started asphalting my street i live on. I live in a col-de-sac. I asked to workers would I be able to get out of my driveway and they said yes. About 10:30 they were just starting asphalting my side of the street and i panicked because i needed to leave about 11:35 to get to the dog spa so i asked the guy if i would be able to park on the street on the other side he said no but i could either leave now (10:45) or in 30 minutes to a hour when it drys. So I called Pet Spa and asked if she could let Elsa come 20 to 30 minutes early she said no because there only allowed by law to have a certain amount of dogs at a time. I said I understand. I said I don't know what to do can i reschedule she said it will be a $25 reschedule fee. I said that's insane. I can't control the city workers like you can't control the law of how many dogs your allowed in your store. I felt under my circumstances it was wrong to charge a customer for something out of there control too. I told her fine bill me and hung up. I then realized how unfair it was to pay $25 called told her I'm leaving now which it was then 11am told her ill sit outside. but this would be my last visit. she told me No your not bringing Elsa up here that will both go our own ways. Fine by me. It goes to show you how a returning customer is treated today. I felt it was rude for her to even suggest i pay a rescheduling fee to begin with I understand she paying a employee to cut for that appointment but she should of understood i cant help they were making me not be able to leave either. The employees at the dog spa did a fantastic job on my dog! This was my first time at The Dog Spa and it went wonderfully. I think if he wasn't so excited to see me my dog would have wanted to stay at the groomers longer because it was such a paw-sitive experience. The employees/possible owner took the time to talk with me and fully understand what I wanted out of the groom and then made my dog look exactly how I asked. They seemed to really care about my dog and me as a customer. They also gave me a picture of him at the end of his groom and let him play with the other dogs in their daycare while I was driving to get him. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with them and was happy with the result. read more

We have been taking our little dog here for about seven years. They are really nice and do a great job. They really care about the pets. Each dog has a little card where they write what the dog likes and doesn't like (for instance: our dog's card says "doesn't like face blower"). They take great care to give her a good cut, and they help us decide when we think about changing up her cut. The prices are reasonable, and the hours are excellent. read more

I will never take my dog anywhere else! He loves going to The Dog Spa. He comes home looking very clean, very happy and smelling great, all for the lowest price in the area. They also have a great selection of toys and dog products He was nervous the first time I dropped him off but he has been so excited ever since! The staff is very courteous and friendly. You can tell that they actually seem to enjoy what they do and that all of the dogs there seem to love them. We take our 11 year old Shih Tzu to the team at The Dog Spa 1, and could not be happier! Charlie looks fantastic and smells fresh when we pick him up. His hair cut is blended, and does not have a choppy look at all. I really appreciate the fact that Charlie is not there all day - he is finished within 1.5-2 hours. Everyone I have spoken with is friendly, helpful and so sweet to Charlie. I never have a problem making an appointment, and usually book the next appointment before leaving. I have now taken my dogs here multiple times. Staff is always extremely friendly to both my dogs and I. They always take good care of em. My dogs always come out smelling fresh, everything cleaned and paws trimmed well. Definitely recommend especially if you have a dog that sheds bad, like my husky does, they de-shed them and I don't have to brush the loose hairs off of him for weeks. My go-to place! read more

After having to cancel two hours before appointment for two , which never took more than 1 1/2 hour , I was told by Cathy Davis ( owner ) that I owed a 20$ cancellation fee ! She further said she had turned away 15 callers for appointments that morning due to the appointment of my two . ?? She was very hostile and obviously not customer friendly ! Was our first time there but won't go back. The only thing I like is that my dog wasn't crated and the service was quick, but they did not do a good job. His nails are sharper than when I took him in and they didn't cut in some of the spots that I asked them to. I would have sent him back and asked him to fix it but I didn't want him to go back there again. Also the lady that took him back kept questioning me about his breed and asked how "sure" I was that the breeder didn't lie to me about what he was. Then she asked me about some of his training and asked if he slept in bed with us and I said yes and she was judge mental and said we shouldn't do that. Sorry, I didn't ask! And he's my dog, not yours. Place was also filthy and you couldn't even see the area where the dogs get groomed and when they realized I was waiting in the lobby they shut the door too! I don't know if this person owns the shop or is just an employee, but she is unbelievable. She thinks she knows more than the pet owner and even more than the vet. She berated me because she said I had waited too long between groomings and insisted that I leave the shop while she groomed my dog. When I came back earlier than she expected she insisted that I leave again. She told me my dog had fleas and that she had to give him a flea treatment so that my total bill would be 75.00. My dog had just been to the vet and he would have said something if he had had fleas. I told her what kind of flea control pills he takes and she said in a snotty way " where did you get those from Walmart." When I told her I buy them from my vet. She said, "Y our vet must not know what he is doing then, I wouldn't give that to my dog. It will kill him, It's poison." I will never go there again. That woman is rude and a know it all. read more

We have a 6 1/2 year old cocker spaniel name Chucky. He has never been groomed any were else. The last time Chucky was there they cut him on the side of his face didn't tell us he got a infection, the cut was 1" wide and 3" long done with the clippers we called them they said they did not do it but they described exactly where it was at . The prices are reasonable, the time spent on each dog is fair, but there are no disclaimers displayed anywhere in the store that explain a No-Call, No-Show fee to the customer nor any disclaimers that give a clear explanation when one must call to confirm they cannot make the appointment. We had a death in the family and spent the entirety of the day in the hospital, the same day of the dog grooming appointment, and forgot about it all together. This is a reasonable explanation for being forgetful, right? I called the next day to reschedule, and they said nothing about this No-Call, No-Show fee. Instead of being upfront about the fee before we handed the dog over, they mentioned it after they took her to the back. And after talking to the owner, and listening her to repeat the same 3 things thrice(I'm a small business owner, I have bills, my mother died recently so I know what you're going through)she continuously exclaimed there was nothing she could do to wave the fee.
