It's way overpriced for the quality. It's a basic hot dog, and I'm pretty sure the fries are literally Ore Ida Frozen fries from the store. $15 for that is insane. To put it into perspective, even if it was a $5 combo, I would still be deeply disappointed in the quality of the food. It wasn't just subpar quality as well, the hotdog served was lukewarm at most, and the bun was cold. Some fries just straight up weren't cooked. This was the very first time in my life that I've bought food from a restaurant and felt genuinely scammed. In fact, I have never left a negative review on anything in my life. But this business just seems disingenuous. Until they change their prices or improve the quality and effort they put into their food considerably, just don't waste your money. Pick a different food truck, or pick a different restaurant at the mall. (This was at their Solomon Pond Mall location. Was excited to try it, but unfortunately it is what it is.) read more

Oh yeah.. a "new" classic in the city of worcester. Like if you think you are going to find a snack bar at lake park on a summer day you are sorely mistaken. But should you decide to camp out there for the day and you haven't thought of bringing adequate snacks - you can walk to the adjacent parking area across from the Bancroft field where there will be a van or truck with these informal dogs. This is for the review when they were at Worcester Commons for Thursday's out to lunch event. Nothing special. Had The Tessio(forgot to put their signature hot sauce ) which is sauerkraut with hot sauce and relish. Didn't get it so don't how how it tastes. Also took The Don with their Chili. While the chili felt nice but definitely went really light on the amount. The bread and the dog although felt fresh but tasted like any supermarket dog and buns. You don't expect it from a 3.5 dollar dog(without tax). 1 star is extra, just for the girl on the window who kept smiling and attending the hungry customers. read more

Used to love this place when the original owner was working at the Shore Drive location... Sadly, the woman working there currently is incredibly rude. My 2 younger brothers (13 and 10) went up to buy hotdogs; the woman got upset and demanded to know why she wasn't tipped. When my mother came out to talk to her, she claimed that a man in line had demanded the kids tip her, but she herself hadn't said anything. My brothers confirmed that she was in fact lying. Passive aggression towards children then lying about it when confronted? That's a new low. If you thought tips should be included with every order, just add it to the price of the hotdog. That's what you're there to do - sell hotdogs, not run your mouth. Unfortunate, but I can't recommend this place to anyone after that. read more

I've been looking forward to coming here for a while after reading the reviews here and hearing about it from a couple of friends. I knew I was in for a treat when I pulled up yesterday. Here it is at lunch time on a January Friday afternoon, a balmy forty degrees and overcast, and a line of a dozen people. I chose to stick to the basics on my first visit, and ordered the lunch special of two regular dogs (with mustard and onions), a bag of chips and a can of soda for five dollars. Steamed to perfection, on a beautifully toasted bun with just the right amount of mustard, covered in onions, it was delicious. The taste, the snap, I would not refuse a return visit. read more

I wanted to refuse it. "I'll make you a hotdog you can't refuse" was the motto on the side of the truck when I pulled up. I wanted to. It was a sketchy truck in a sketchy lot in a sketchy part of town, and needless to say, i was sketched out. I was hungry though, and when hunger gets the best of you, there's no joint too brow raising not to try at least once. The theme for this entire place is right out of perhaps one of my favorite movies, The Godfather. Every item is a variation or play on a part of that movie in some way. Usually when places try to pull this kind of stunt off, it just detracts from the experience (confusion and lack of cohesion), but here, it works. I ordered two standard hotdogs, some chips, and a can of soda, $5 in total. The bun was lightly toasted, and the hotdog nicely steamed. I would have liked a bit more ketchup then what was put on, but that's my own fault for not speaking up. There were a couple of picnic tables a few feet away, one of which was full, the other kiddie sized. Chilly day, but enjoyable none the less. They offered some fried dough (love of my life) and bottled toppings, neither of which I took advantage of. Limited hours and accommodations make this a great place if it's a nice day out and you're in the mood, but not really something I'd rush over on your lunch break to grab. read more

I love family owned businesses that just "get it". This guy has been around for a long time and he hustles like no other. His food trucks have a normal spot on Holden St but he's at special events year-round with a second truck. The food is consistently good and the prices are fair. I like that he has created a number of specialty hot dogs named after references from the "Godfather" franchise. The Fredo is one of my favorites. In short, it's a good, quick meal or snack at a very reasonable price. And you get to support a local business! read more

Stopped by for a couple of dogs with kraut for lunch. Kraut was cold.....sorry....but cold kraut on a dog is just slightly above the ketchup only miscue. Dog was a steamed NC Kayem "Old Tyme" which I do love. The rolls were fresh and the location was great. The place is definitely worth another try....but please at least get the kraut to room temperature. read more

The actual black food truck is routinely parked on the common. I've never been - and today they were hired for a catering event at my work. Needless to say it was a poor first impression. We had to have tickets - so there must have been some kind of head count (unclear here if the fault is on the organizers of the event or the Dogfather). Each ticket should have gotten you a hot dog, a bag of chips, and a drink. Half way through the line of people waiting - they run out of soda and chips. We had to stand in line for nearly an hour just for supplies to run out. For very simple steamed hot dogs with few toppings, it seemed a very inefficient setup. I would not recommend them for a work function or any kind of mass service. read more

I got a hot dog from these guys at the Brimfield Flea Market. Super cool business, however, my wife and I got very sick after eating our hot dogs. We even had to leave the flea market due to how sick we got. Plus, they had a really poor order-placement system. No one really knew where to stand or wait to get food. And, the cook and the "order placer" were bickering. However, our main problem was the food poisoning we got. Pretty disappointed overall. read more

I am from out of town, but moving to Worcester soon, so I had to stop by this neat little food truck to see how they compare to all of the food trucks that I know in Houston, TX. As far as hot dogs are concerned, this truck would be hard to beat. The menu is really cool with unique combinations of toppings and named in "Dogfather" theme. The buns are unique and better than buns you would just buy at the store normally. I'll warn that there is a bit of a line (at least when I went) that takes awhile to move through as there was only one man in the truck. The wait is the only reason that i gave 4/5 stars (i waited probably 20 minutes to order). But given its only one man, he was pretty fast and Suuuper nice. They also allow you to build your own dog. Dogs start around $2-3 with even some specialty dogs under 3 bucks. There is a two-fer combo with 2 basic dogs, chips and a drink for under $5! Definitely worth checking out, I know i'll be back! **UPDATE** I've been back several times, always delicious! I've been following this place on Facebook for awhile and finally had a chance to try it out. A friendly propriator/cook welcomed me and quickly produced the two chili dogs I ordered. They were perfect with homemade chili that seemed a little sweet and a little spicy at the same time. Chips and a soda made this a great little meal. I'll be back. read more

This is a great hot dog truck. So many different hot dog combinations to chose from or you can have the original toppings. There all great. But i have to tell you this guy can make some chili. it is fantastic. Putting it on a hot dog does not do it justice. You need to have it in a cup. read more

Great hot dogs. My favorite chili dogs in the city. They have a lot of specialty dogs that I still have to try. Great location also. Our family stops by here at least 4 times a month. The only con is that the orders take a little time. But they are made to order. So the trade off is ok. read more

Yea,a hot dog truck gets 4 stars!The Dogfather has the best of both worlds when you're speaking the dog world.You can get basic dogs with basic toppings or you can choose from a variety of gourmet dogs.This man is passionate about his chili and chili dogs and these are quite popular here.All the ingredients we tried on his gourmet dogs were fresh and tasty.He uses Kayem all natural casing dogs and toasts all the rolls so there is no skimping on the quality there.He is parked on a little dirt parking area so there seems to be plenty of space to park.I think he could compete handily against any dog joint in the Worcester area. read more
