After researching highly rated facilities, I was drawn to BratPak based on the reviews and photos. The facility looked clean, welcoming, and designed with the dogs' comfort in mind, so I scheduled an assessment. From the beginning, I was impressed. Sean was flexible with my work schedule, which I greatly appreciated. We met in a comfortable front room where he clearly explained both the facility's expectations and what owners could expect in return. It quickly became clear that BratPak operates differently than a typical daycare or boarding facility. They don't simply take your dog and send you on your way--they take the time to understand each dog and determine whether the environment is truly a good fit. Throughout our conversation, Sean carefully observed my dog and explained what he was seeing. His observations aligned with my own experiences and gave me confidence that he genuinely understands canine behavior. I felt that my dog was safe and in capable hands. During the assessment, I watched from the front room while Sean introduced my dog to the daycare environment and several calm, well-socialized dogs. He communicated with me throughout the process, explaining what he was observing and why. Rather than simply labeling her as anxious, he recognized that she was not showing curiosity or interest in engaging with the other dogs. He explained that many anxious dogs still display curiosity, while my dog did not. Afterward, we discussed the results and possible next steps. While it's possible that she could become more comfortable over time, I agreed with Sean's assessment that daycare was probably not the right fit for her at this stage. What impressed me most was that there was never any pressure to enroll. The goal was clearly to do what was best for my dog, not simply fill a daycare spot. Our conversation then shifted toward training. My dog came from a breeder but received very little socialization or engagement early in life and was essentially feral when we brought her home at eight months old. One of our earliest experiences involved her bolting and leading us on a long chase through the neighborhood. Since then, leash confidence has been a challenge for both of us. After meeting with Sean, I felt confident enough in his knowledge and approach that I have decided to move forward with training sessions. I'm excited to work with him to help both my dog and me build confidence and create a more enjoyable walking experience. Although I ultimately decided not to pursue daycare, I left with tremendous respect for BratPak, Sean, and his team. If my dog had been comfortable in that environment, I would have enrolled her without hesitation. While daycare may not be the right fit for her, I absolutely plan to continue working with Sean through training. After 3 no notice cancellations (day of, within an hour of our scheduled session) he stated "he didn't know how he was supposed to task train a dog for PTSD anyways" and quit. We only received a partial, prorated refund (at a higher hourly rate) after threatening legal action against him. His only sessions repeatedly focused on having the dog walk with a shopping cart even after being specifically told that was not a priority for us. I regret working with Ira and losing thousands of dollars. Spend your money elsewhere.

I have had multiple dogs and she's the only one I've ever felt the need to get help training with, so she's a challenge. My recommendation to get the best bang for your buck is to do the 3 week training program at their facility while coordinating with an extended vacation you might be planning.
