Top right corner, Flame's artwork from Freshman Orientation

Flame had a blast meeting new friends and playing when he attended "Freshman Orientation"..... can't wait to go back to school soon! And the icing on the cake is the journal notes they left detailing his day, a piece of artwork, AND his doggy bag they provide!!! 5 star service thank you!!!

Charlie, our golden retriever, absolutely loves the Doghouse. He gets so excited to ride the bus and comes home happy as can be and exhausted from his big day. The staff is so friendly, always greets Charlie with a huge hug, and takes such exceptional care of him whether or not we send him for Daycare or board him overnight. I would recommend this business to anyone with a fur baby!

But, Ashley is the best! She took a lot of time to meet with us before going solo with our dog, and really listened to my concerns and advice on the best way to make our dog comfortable with her. She has also worked with a local trainer (the same that we have used actually) so she has a great background in dog behavior and is very knowledgable. She's had many years in the pet sitting business and this is exactly that for her- a full time business. She's licensed and insured and far more responsible than your neighbors college age kid for pet sitting. I really appreciate that Ashley is very detail oriented and trustworthy- she is at my house when she says she will be, my dog is always fed, safe and happy, and my house is always locked and armed when she leaves. (Honestly, this is more than I can even manage some days lol) She's really one of the few people I trust with my crazy/challenging dog, and one of the few people that my dog seems to like and trust as well, and that in itself is a very high recommendation!

If I were to describe an ideal pet sitting service, it might look exactly like Crate Escape. I have…read moretwo rabbits and a tortoise, and I've used Crate Escape twice--for three weeks in December and two weeks in March. In my ideal world, my pet sitters would be hyper communicative. Karen and her team post daily to a private online "pet care journal," with a brief description of the visit and often a couple of pictures. When I've texted, Karen has responded within the hour. When I've scheduled service online, it's been confirmed by the end of the day. Oh, and she posts pictures and video frequently on Instagram, all full of adorable shots of Jonesboro pets. When my mother-in-law discovered this, she became Karen's biggest fan--she often sees fresh 'grams before I do. "Did you see the latest from Karen?" she'll ask, "It's super cute" (because it always is). In my ideal world, my pet sitters would play with my pets, would seem to enjoy interacting with them, would think up new games. Karen exceeds my dreams, in this regard. She sits on the floor and plays with my rabbits, brings new toys, comes up with creative search-and-find games where she hides a little bit of banana in a cup. And to be clear, Crate Escape meets every job description of a pet sitter, too: They give food and change water dishes and let you know if they notice strange or destructive behavior. More, too: They'll collect mail. They'll take trash cans out. They'll do pet clean-up. I understand that if your pets need walking (mine don't), that's part of the service. I often see Karen out by the Farmer's Market with a gaggle of dogs, throwing a tennis ball from a launcher. Given that my previous experience with a different petsitter in Jonesboro was a nightmare--long story short, my pets went four days without being fed/watered--I cannot recommend Crate Escape highly enough. Karen's awesome. And their rates are so very reasonable for the top-notch service they provide.

Disclaimer: Long review on Rebecca, The Dog Whisperer…read more I cannot recommend Rebecca at Paw Paw's Pets enough! After 10 exhausting months of battling with my dog, Theo--who treated his kennel like a personal torture chamber and barked like he was auditioning for a siren competition--I was completely worn out. We're talking nonstop, ear-piercing, dramatic barking for hours. I'm pretty sure the neighbors considered moving. Then we met Rebecca. Within ONE WEEK of obedience training, Theo transformed. He now goes into his kennel willingly--yes, willingly--and actually sleeps in it like a peaceful little angel. I still catch myself staring in disbelief. I spent nearly a year trying every trick in the book, and Rebecca came in and solved it like she had a cheat code for dog behavior. Her training style is calm, clear, and somehow makes you feel like you can actually do this. She understands dogs in a way that's almost magical. Theo loves her, and honestly, so do I. If your pup is testing your sanity and your sleep schedule, stop what you're doing and call Rebecca. She is the real deal, and Paw Paw's Pets has been a total game-changer for us!

I've been taking pets to Walnut Grove since the early'90s, and have been very happy with the…read moreservice they provide. There are definitely vets I prefer, but they are all good. I've had MANY dogs and cats treated, as I fostered for years, so I can definitely speak to their quality. One of the things that touches me is that the staff & vets always remembers my various pets, and it often feels like Norm at Cheers when we're there. They genuinely act excited & happy to see my four legged companions! Six years ago, we dealt with the trauma of having my 7 year old soul pup diagnosed first with cancer of the spleen (which weighed 10 pounds & was the size of a mini basketball). Dr. Slattery did an amazing job of safely removing it (which would be beyond the skills of many vets). Dexter didn't even need a transfusion! Dr. Slattery suspected extremely aggressive (and deadly) hemangiosarcoma, but Dexter couldn't be treated with chemotherapy because the pathology report was inconclusive. It was SO traumatic! Dr. Slattery saved the day (again) by coming up with a treatment protocol that helped Dex survive for another precious 18 months. (This diagnosis generally either is found when the dog drops dead or has a maximum survival of 6 weeks.) He referred me to an acupuncturist & Chinese herbalist, told me about to find a beneficial anti-cancer diet, and prescribed medications to help Dexter medically. He was with us every step of the way, and clearly was sad that we couldn't save him. Dex had all the support he needed to continue playing athletic fetch daily and ate very well until the last two days before we had to let him go. Now Dexter was VERY tough, smart, & determined to stay with our family as long as he possibly could as he was the heart of it, so YMMV. Dr. Slattery tried a Hail Mary exploratory surgery on his last day, and said Dexter had cancer everywhere & he had never seen so much in any dog. He didn't know how Dex had still been playing enthusiastically & eating well the day before. I think it was definitely a credit to Dr. Slattery's efforts that Dexter survived so long. The prices at the clinic have definitely increased significantly since Dr. Halford's son took over practice management. Maybe he doesn't appreciate how expensive it is to take good care of your beloved animal companions? I have definitely sacrificed things I personally needed in order to pay for vet care for my precious cats & big dogs at this clinic. In their defense, though, I haven't found any inexpensive vets & I don't want the ones who finished at the bottom of their classes, so I think you get what you pay for in most cases. I do wish they'd moderate the prices of office visits & nail trims, though. Conclusion (if anyone reads this far!): I strongly recommend Walnut Grove as your vet. They truly care & have taken excellent care of over 40 pets of mine (foster & permanent family members). They do very well with both cats & dogs.
