Had a great week in El Paso. I closed out each night with a (or 3+) delicious expresso martinis at the Dome bar in the hotel lobby. The bartenders were great and actually enjoyed making the drink and almost challenging each other to who made a better one. The atmosphere is upscale but relaxed. They had a singer one night and she was fabulous. One night a piano player who was also very good. I highly recommend this bar, and the hotel.

Later the musicians/band set up here and were LOUD!

It was really working for me as a nice bar to relax at u til the band started playing. I guess I'm to old to be screaming at a hotel bar and still not be heard. My date and I came for a couple drinks. I went all Bourdain and ordered a Negroni. It was perfect but I should have ordered a double. Someone must have measured it with a micro milliliter cup as I felt it barely covered the ice cube. But it tasted great. I didn't want a big feed with it so I ordered the "Trail Mix". That was a big let down. I wanted the mixed nuts but the fake jalapeño heated dark chocolate mess it was in made me gag my dinner. For fear of losing it I only had one bite. The waitress was great and I just orders my second Negroni when the band just let loose. Four or five live musicians playing as if they were in a theater. Ok, that was enough for me. The dome was beautiful and the marble spectacular. When that much cool stone has full bore wind and percussion instruments, you get the point. Definitely recommend you come but stick to drinks and bolt when you see any musicians tuning up.

Fabulous French 75 in the Dome bar inside Paseo Del Norte. Fun, smiling bartender was hustling to get everyone served quickly when 4 different couples converged simultaneously. America knew all her drinks by heart and made them look easy!

The service was great despite a super busy night. Patience with the barman is always key. I have been here several times; even on National Bourbon Day where the Dome Bar had a great Bourbon night with some smooth jazz at the piano bar. The Dome offers some Bourbon Barrel Vintages blended in French, Mizunara, and American Oaks. This in a splendid setting with a recently (2020) renovated Dome that has a great of history to tell. This is one of my favorite place to go for some drinks and bites in El Paso. Located in the El Paso Del Norte Hotel downtown, the Dome bar brings the elegance of the 20th century with some well preserved features such as the Tiffany-style, high stained glass dome ceiling. The story goes that after some libitation some revolutionaries would go to the 10th floor and watch some troop in-fighting. Only in El Paso!! You even have a restored bronze statue of General Pancho Villa welcoming U. S. General John Pershing at the entry of the hotel. This is a great place that captures the time and atmosphere of everything that is good about our great city of El Paso!

We went to the Dome Bar on a busy Saturday night before the holiday season, so that may have impacted our experience. It was very busy and crowded with standing room only by about 8:30pm. I ordered one their seasonal drinks and it was good, but the amaretto was very overpowering and made it hard to drink. I don't know what else was in there, but maybe the point was just the amaretto flavor. My husband had a couple of classic drinks that were okay. Nothing good, nothing bad. They had live music, but it felt like a bit much in an otherwise classy and open space. Glad we went to experience it, but it was just okay overall.

It's really really really expensive. $5 beers and $10 mixed drink. Don't go top shelf, don't do it.

They're known for creatively risky craft cocktails and their thick burgers, so we dove into both, including bacon/cheese burgers and the filthy martini ($18, gin with sardine brine and blue-cheese-stuffed olives!) and the Chupa Mi Chili ($20 Sotol, chili syrup, crema, bitters). She loved the salty/bitter martini (not so much me Lol) and I really liked my Chupa, although about half foamed out of the glass (see vid). The burgers were excellent as were both the roasted veggie and shoestring fries. It was empty when we walked in around 7/7:30 but by 9p it was approaching half full... not bad for a Tuesday night. Ambiance in this tall-ceilinged venue is dark/cozy and staff was fun/friendly.

If it's not too busy, the staff are usually very personal / happy to talk to you. - Great vibes - my favorite is usually the main tiki room and its booths, but the outside patio can be really nice as well - Food - portion sizes vary a good bit, so I recommend telling the how hungry you are and/or asking about portions. If you have the right expectations, I think you'll enjoy the food. I've liked all the food I've had, and so did my companions. I say surprising because when we entered and for most of our meal, there was only one person waiting on tables despite several people entering the establishment--she even made everyone's drinks behind the bar! I ordered the Unbranded Smash burger since I was really craving one, and the photos looked amazing! Unfortunately, I would rate this burger a 3/5. The patty lacked flavor and honestly wasn't juicy compared to plenty of other smash burgers that I've had at other places. The pickles, cheese, and condiments honestly saved the burger some. I also ordered a mango virgin daiquiri, which was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Once again, I'm so surprised that the single person waiting on tables at the time was able to expertly make the drink despite handling everyone's orders. I feel like I might've just had a bad luck of the draw since my friends seemed to enjoy their meals since there was flavor. They ordered the Baja Fish Tacos, El Paso Hot Chick, and Mushroom Swiss Smash. Overall, I would give this place a solid 4, mainly because of the amazing service, the daiquiri, and the chill ambience.
