So many good things about our stay at The Donatello. I'll be organized: The positives: AMENITIES: The game room is located on the first floor by the front desk. You can use the pool table for free for an hour, just ask the staff for the balls. There's also a foozeball table - hours of fun - for free as well. There's a lounge area on the top floor marked "C" on the elevator panel. It opens at 630am. They don't serve breakfast but they do offer coffee, decaf and Swiss Miss hot chocolate from then onward. The glass windows allow an unobstructed view of the city. It's a beautiful space with bathrooms as well. We watched the World Cup there while waiting for our room to be cleaned. CLEANLINESS: Rooms are cleaned every three days unless you request a different arrangement. I loved how thorough housekeeping was when tidying up our space. SPACIOUSNESS: Our room had a kitchenette area equipped with glasses, cups, plates and silverware. The fridge space was massive and our microwave was strategically angled to make opening it easier. I appreciated the dishwasher (although we didn't use it other than for storage). There was more than enough space for us three, which was surprising even with the sofa bed pulled out. So much room to walk around. LOCATION: This hotel is centrally located. Can't beat that. And what I noticed is that everything I needed to get to was downhill and walkable. So many good restaurants in the area - Bota (tapas), Halal Guys, à ramen place, a pizza place, a convenience store. Easy to get Ubers and a few blocks away you can catch a bus. STAFF: Warm and welcoming. Every time we returned from the city they would say "good evening, welcome back!" and it just made our hearts flutter. They are sweethearts and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay. After realizing we were celebrating my husband's birthday, they immediately sent up a gift basket containing apple cider, chips and pretzels. Very kind gesture. The negatives: NOISE If you can, get an odd number room so that you aren't street-facing. I don't know why but in the even numbered room we could hear everything - the homeless folks talking to each other, the sound of plumbing, cop car sirens - it woke us up from our sleep so many times that I had to go down at 2:38am to request a different room. I was accommodated. But I also asked for a refund of the payment for the first night since we got no sleep - it was honored. It's an old hotel so it's possible that it didn't provide the required soundproofing to ensure quiet in the room. I recorded everything we heard during the night and was incredulous at how thin the walls were. Why could we hear laughter and the sounds of glass breaking outside? What I didn't appreciate was the staff member handling my complaint showed absolutely no empathy. It's why I took off one star. I was not rude and I did not raise my voice, and while I was telling her what noises we heard she rudely interrupted so that she could just offer a solution. I get it, she wanted to be efficient. But at the very least acknowledge that the most basic thing a guest needs is to be heard. The hotel failed in this regard. CONCIERGE Another reason I took off one star is that immediately after check in, you are ambushed by a guy who offers something like a timeshare lecture. He didn't even listen to us when we said we go to SFO many times a year- he just went on his spiel. I get that this was his job and we couldn't fault him for it. But if management is reading this, know that your guests oftentimes are tired after a long drive or flight, and the last thing we want to do is to linger around and listen to a guy say things we already know. All we wanted to do was shower, poop, and get a bite to eat because we were hungry. However, all in all, it was good value for money (after they deducted the first night's fees). We got solid sleep after the room change and had absolutely no complaints after. Very grateful that management was reasonable. read more

Pros: friendly staff, quick room deliveries of supplies, well decorated, large room, great location Cons: takes 10-15 min for shower water to start to run hot (not kidding), elevators are slow and there are just 2 (during busy times expect a wait), no breakfast options in the hotel, bed has a soft topper (if you like firm or have a tempurpedic it'll be an adjustment), could hear neighbor's tv clearly in my room on a Sunday morning. Overall, not the worst in the area, but there are other options nearby like Parc55 that offer more for the buck read more

My family and I came here for a couple nights for the 4th of July. Parking at the hotel is very expensive, $57 a night. We know someone who lives in the area so we were able to leave our car with them. Upon check in, everyone was nice and got us checked in. We were asked if we needed help with our luggage but we didn't have much. I like how the staff seem to always acknowledge me when I came down the elevator. They would smile, say hi, open the door. The room was large and the AC unit worked well. We were able to use the sauna and hot tub the first night and that was very nice. The hot tub is pretty small, luckily we had it all to ourselves. Leaving the hotel you really don't need a car, everything is within walking distance. There is a good breakfast place right down the street. After the fireworks we had to walk back to the hotel late at night because Waymo and uber was not available. The area around the hotel at night can be pretty dangerous. We encountered people doing drugs on the street. Someone also followed us for a while and when he got close to me I moved to the side and watched him. I have no idea what he was trying to do, maybe snatch my purse. We let him go ahead then he stopped and waited for us to get ahead and followed us again. We kept looking at him so he left eventually. When we finally got to the hotel there was a staff that opened the door for us which was nice because it was almost midnight. I felt safer knowing someone was watching the door at night. read more

The entire staff is friendly. The facilities are clean and comfortable. The hotel is nestled amongst great restaurants, cafes, and theater. After a day of fun in SF, we loved relaxing in the jacuzzi and saunas, and partaking in the happy hour. We will come again and highly recommend this hotel. read more

Our experience at The Donatello was extremely disappointing. The staff assuerd us they would tahte care of a seriuos parking issue and any resulting costs, but those promises were never honored. We relied on their instructions, only to be left dealing with the consequences ourselves. The lack of accountability, poor communication, and failure to follow through completely overshadowed our stay. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel. read more

The hotel is very clean. The customer service is good! There is Concierge service from Ms Pamela that helped get us on our way to experiencing takinh bus tours, and learning to jump on the cable car and the ferry! Eventhough our room faced the roof and back of buildings. The hotel was a right choice for Union Square. Clean, conveniently located to walking to the jazz clubs, eateries, department store shopping, Parks and great breakfast! The people were very friendly and helpful i. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is good and bad, could be a little too close to street noise from daily morning cleaning crew and those who like to sing and yell at night depending on where your room is as the windows don't seem to be double pained or help with any noise reduction. Location is pretty convenient though. Rooms are spacious and looks like it was renovated not long ago. But a few issues are though to get over. The doors to each room is super heavy, if you are elderly or having difficulty with heavy items, you will have issues managing the doors. The biggest issue is that every time a door closes on your floor, you will hear it and feel it. It's that loud. There are ice machines on alternative floors and the door there is also heavy but they have a soft close feature to it, not sure why they don't do that with the room doors. It is so loud that when the door closes from one end of the hall, you can hear it all the way on the other end. The doors are frequently opened and closed and all hours of the day and night. We were there for a few nights in Nov and the heater/AC unit was not working properly. The staff is very nice and will send engineering quickly, but after 2+ nights of the same issue and resetting the system didn't fix it, they didn't do more to address this, like getting external people to fix the real problem. So we are left with either very hot room during the day and very cold room at night. Which in Nov is very uncomfortable. This issue continued for the 7+ night we stayed. The room cleaning is a little iffy as well, there is a 3 day cleaning policy which was not noted prior to reservation. We are fine with not having service every day but like most hotels now a days, assumed that if there is a need for earlier service, there will be. But that's not the case here. The 3 day room cleaning is set and can't be changed. Even though front desk sent someone to replace dirty towels and service the bathroom, it wasn't really cleaned as hair was still in the shower and floor and the cleaning staff seemed put out that they had to do it prior to the 3 day set time. Since they don't service the rooms daily, there is no extra bags for ice and none of the cleaning staff has those bags except for dining staff. I would suggest just having the small bags in the ice machine room to make it easier for people to get it on the way to their rooms instead of having to chase down the bags. All in all, the size of the room and location is a plus but for the price, some things need to be address to make the cost really worth the stay. read more

The customer service, that I've encountered so far, were friendly from the porter to the club desk on the 15th floor. Negative #1: Toilet is too high for short legs. Peep hole on the door, is 5' high, I'm 5'1", and I can't reach the hole, not that I need to look out. Negative #2: You can hear people screaming outside, not their fault! Negative #3: The living room area lamps, you need to turn it on/off by hand, not from a wall. Negative #4: As owner for a week, (Time Share) we have to pay for parking $40 a day! That's total ridiculous! Negative #5: We're one floor from Club Donatello, since we're higher up heaven, I thought the view there would be more heavenly, than what we have on the 14th floor, facing the Marriott's side walls. I was wrong! I was planning on spending more time there, relaxing, reading or something, and having a time of my life on the upper deck, but there's really NO VIEWS of the city! So disappointed! Positive so far: Pillows perfect, reminds me of my pillow from home! (Hubby said: too plump!) Positive #2: I like the lamp that comes with plug for my phone, but it's facing towards the window, and so was the switch (negative?) Positive #3: Spacious living area and bed! I can do my power walk, here & pray my Rosary, like I do on my porch at home! Positive #4: Love the furniture and glass inserts in the tub, and mirror walls everywhere in/out of the bathroom area. Last NYE, we stayed here for one week since we used interval to exchange our timeshare with interval international. It was comfortable, clean and close to everything we wanted see. We didn't get to visit the restaurant on their premises, but the menu sounded delicious. They went out of their way to make sure guests had music, hors d'oeuvres,and drinks available before and during the NYE countdown. The weight room, coed hottub, separate ladies'/ mens' saunas were the best part of the trip. Only issue I had was getting to use sauna on certain days because it would turn off automatically and eould take 30 minutes to heat up again. It's been a week and I was told Marie Vergara would be in contact with me. She has not contacted me to find a resolution. The problem is not solved, the hotel lost/threw away my items and will not take accountability. They have admitted to throwing away items left behind from guest before but refuse to believe that it might have happened to my items. Once you report your items missing/lost, they then imply that you are lying. Then tell you that someone from upper management will be in contact and you are ghosted. So much for "improvement." What's the point of sharing experiences like these if they are just going to be ignored? You provide a response just to show that you "care" when your staff actions demonstrate that they could careless. Great job! Update: Marie finally contacted me and I have attached her email. Even from an Executive Manager, she is saying pretty much giving me a professional "F" you. Yes, it is my responsibility to check the room prior to departure but take accountability that your staff do not take your Policy of Customers items seriously. The Donatello is a very good option for a stay close to Union Square if you want a few extra amenities such as a bigger room with seating area and a kitchenette. This was my first time staying here, although I've booked my husband here as well on his weeks working in the city. Contrary to other reviews, we were not approached by any kind of timeshare talk. In fact, it's not entirely obvious that The Donatello is one. My only frustration with my experience here was that my husband specifically asked for housekeeping one day and it was not done, and there are only ice machines on certain floors, not every floor as the welcome brochure states. The room's wet bar has a full size coffee machine, fridge and microwave with all the basic utensils and dinnerware you might need for heating up leftovers, take out, etc. The adjoining restaurant is also good (separate review). The Donatello is on a relatively cleaner corner in Union Square. Lots of great restaurants, convenience stores and other shopping nearby. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. read more

Location is great if you are wanting to be near union square. Also easy to get to Market street and all the public transit that runs around that area. Stayed here twice and have loved the rooms and now since the last time we stayed they have the top floor opened as a lounge area with free papers, coffee, gym and jacuzzi. Also mention the coffee is actually good so that will save you a few bucks if you need to start your morning with coffee. Staff has always been helpful and friendly. One thing you do not need is "the welcome package" got to be firm about that if you don't want it as we all know that is a lead to a timeshare presentation. Sometimes i do like going to those if the timing is right and the gift bribe is worth my time. Maybe if that works for you then go ahead and do it. Normally i would say of course not to buy a timeshare but i also feel the prices are so outrageous that do i need to say don't do it? read more

This place is great! Studio apartments with a full size bathroom and a kitchenette (sink, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker and dishes). Also, there tv is Chrome Cast ready (Netflix, Hulu, etc). Entertainment covered!It's so quiet and has valet parking with in and out service for $50/day. It's close to Tad's steakhouse, Fishermen's Wharf and movie theaters. The staff is amazing and check-in was a breeze. Room service is available for their on-site restaurant Zingari Ristorante (Italian) for lunch and dinner. Also, breakfast can be be pre-ordered from Club Donatello's Buon Giorno by completing a form and left on your door knob. Everything of course charged to your room. The facility has a lounge with excellent views and on that floor you will find a small but clean gym and a massage room (by appointment?). No pool but they have a sauna. We've stayed at Canterbury in which we loved (one bedroom) but it's a busy location. The Donatello is perfect for our needs and I can see us staying here in the future. read more

A weekend at the Donatello for our family visiting out of town and a nice staycation to recharge...we had the most amazing stay. You can tell it's an older building, but w/ nice updates here and there. We stayed on the 5th floor w/ terrace access and the girls running back and forth between rooms. The Donatello has friendly astaff who are always willing to attend to guests needs w/ towels, room touch up, and assist whenever they can. The rambunctious girls, ages 7-8-9, loved the rooms and even enjoyed the exercise room and jacuzzi facilities. The valet parking is safe, but not cheap...50bucks over night but that's also SF rates. We can't wait to stay at the Donatello again! We really had a well rested and fun time! See ya again soon! read more

Stayed here as a guest of a friend who has an ownership interest in the hotel. When we arrived we weren't quite sure what to think as there were faded silk flowers adorning the awning and we walked walked into a scene with a faux Japanese cherry tree that screamed 1970s (we later found out that we were at the tail end of a season of floral displays for the Union Square area). The staff were very welcoming and attentive to making sure our stay was most comfortable. The lounge on the top floor overlooking the city was one of the highlights for us as a great place to relax, read and unwind after adventures in the city. Had an after dinner drink for my dad's 80th Birthday at the bar. Bartender/mixologist/therapist Dr.Tyler made amazing drinks and we could taste the LOVE Tyler made our night and my dad's birthday fantastic! The only negative is a stupid curtain that separated the small bar from a beautiful view of the lobby and outside. We begged to open the curtain but told they are not allowed due to policy...WTF! The Donatello is a great option to stay at in San Francisco. I found a room on Airbnb and it was the cheapest, good option in the area. Here's why: 1) Rooms: They are spacious and clean. The entire hotel is old, but not in a musty way. The cleaning crew came every day. 2) Amenities: There's a restaurant inside the hotel. On the very top floor is a gym, sauna, and hot tub. There's also morning coffee, a lounge, and amazing rooftop with beautiful views of the city. 3) Service: The staff were consistently helpful and friendly. 4) Location: It's in the Financial District close to many great neighborhoods like Chinatown and Telegraph Hill. read more

Great location! The staff was awesome. They were so easy to work with. We stayed here due to my husband's family's timeshare and I'm telling glad we did. The hotel room was beautiful! Big bed and a very nice bathroom. The view was better than I thought it would be. It was within walking distance with union square. The restaurants around this location were really good. There is a cvs right there so that was helpful. Felt really safe here. Keep in mind it cost 50 bucks a night to park your car but I would suggest doing so. They took great care of our vehicle. I spent a weekend here and really loved it. This place had an old school charm and I really felt like they were taking care of us. The bed was big and comfy and even though it was in the same room and the sofa and TV, I felt like my husband and I had our own space. The only issue is that they have a gym, sauna, pool, and steam room on the 15th floor. Had I known ahead of time, I would have brought a bathing suit. I was told that it wasn't necessary, but it's no a hippie hot springs, so I chose to forego it. I went to the 15th floor for a look-see and was impressed. They had a nice lounge area to read books and they had free coffee. The coffee wasn't great though and they have hot chocolate at the desk. The woman who worked there was totally nice and explained how everything worked. I would recommend that a friend stay there. I'd also tell them about the sports club on the 15th floor and to bring a bathing suit. read more

Please note: The Donatello is a Shell Vacations Club/Wyndham Corporations-Owned property; however, my review is directed towards Shell Vacations Club/Wyndham Corporation and NOT A REVIEW FOR THE DONATELLO, capisch? Anyway, knowing I was attending a "sweatbox meeting," placating, quelling my brother's growling hunger and sheer boredom, I gave him my box lunch Shell Vacations Club gave me for attending the Owner's Update Meeting. Too many updates: Do you have 3-1/2 hours listening to the plethora of exponential amount of vital, owners' updates, expounding new corporate regulations and policies, and the never ending-too many to list updates' list? Yup~Shell Vacations Club and Wyndham have reorganized their entire corporation, AGAIN: Wyndham is now Wyndham Destinations while the Wyndham Hotels have merged into their own corporate entity. Owning with Shell Vacations Club, the real estate values have increased THREE, no~FOUR TIMES since becoming an owner in 2002. Anyway, I had a major problem regarding the owner documentation, recording issues which caused my first and second born daughters not appearing on BOTH of my two owner-deeded properties, i.e., resolving, addressing each FAILED recorded, deeding issue one at a time took patience akin, to an Angelic Being~Eye roll . . . I wasn't happy nonetheless, regarding the recorded deeds weren't registered in May 2015 as I had paid $250.00 for adding my daughters to my second deeded property! SO EXASPERATING! Well, upon wrapping up the elongated, long-winded, updates meeting, hopefully-I do mean hopefully, both recorded deeds will be immediately recorded tomorrow, 11/26/2018; if, not-I will transform into a fire-breathing dragon . . . Thus, attending the Shell Vacations Club's Owner's Update Meeting for 3-1/2 hours has decreased exponentially from five stars down to negative twenty stars. FYI AND Heads Up: If, a Shell Vacations Club and Wyndham Destinations owner visits the 15th Floor, i.e., C FLOOR at the Donatello, the owner must be registered staying at either Inn At The Opera, Donatello or Fisherman's Wharf properties; you can't use the spa facilities unlike previous years. I stayed at the Donatello on Aug 18-20 and was severely bitten by bed bugs on the pull out sofa bed. I have NEVER experienced bed bug bites before even when traveling outside of the country. This has been extremely itchy, painful, and a process that takes up to 3 weeks to completely heal. I am currently on day 20 and have documented photos every week. I tried calling the hotel to notify them so no other guests experience what I have gone through and they don't answer the phone. I tried sending a message through the website I booked the room and they never replied. I posted a complaint on Google and a few days later I got a reply that said to email them a copy of my reservation. I immediately sent it (on 8/29) along with my room # and offered photos as proof of my experience. I have yet to receive a reply of any kind. This is unacceptable. I spent over $500 for my 2 night stay and have received no apology or acknowledgement. This completely unacceptable and NO one should have to go through this!!! read more

My first time in the Bay and I came across this place on Tik Tok and it was even better than I expected. I really appreciate the Donatello team for respect the new Covid standards and making sure everything was safe and clean. The Jacuzzi was open and club deck was open as long as vaccinated. The employees were super friendly and accommodating which made my two days at The Donatello worth it. Also I forgot to mention it walking distance to great restaurants and the mall. As a Shell Vacations Club owner, the reservation booking for this resort was easy! My friend and I arrived to the hotel and was greeted by the Bell Boy as I walked to registration to see if I could do an early check-in. The agent was very nice and informed me that my room was not available yet. She was going to make sure I had a great room and would call me when the room was available. She did give me a call, which I missed. I returned the call and she answered letting my know that my room was available. I had asked if they could also bring our luggage up from the bell desk, which they gladly did. There was some kind of event on the club level the night we checked in. We went up to check it out. There was a DJ and drinking, along with smokers in the outdoor area. It really wasn't my kind of scene, so we elected to head out! This club level area is also where the fitness amenities (which was very small and limited equipment) and complimentary coffee and tea available. The view from the club level is a little bit obstructed, but none the less, still a nice view of the surroundings. The first 10 levels are dedicated to Shell Vacations Club and the above few levels for Club Donatello (from what I was told). The 11 and 12 floors were decorated way differently, from what I saw when the elevator stopped on those floors. Our room was very contemporary. It had a sink with plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, and flatware. We also had a fridge, coffeemaker, and microwave with microwave popcorn, coffee grounds, and other condiments. It was a much bigger room than I expected. It had a king bed and a queen pull out. The closet was spacious with an ironing board, iron, and keypad safe. The bathroom was pretty standard in size. Sufficient room for the 2 of us. The toilet I felt was awkward, it was a standard toilet you'd find in a public restroom, lol! Check out the pictures of the room. Overall, the room accommodations we're very nice. On our last morning, the concierge called to set a members update meeting. I explained that I just came from Napa and went through that update. She was very persistent, saying that it will only take an hour. I replied, well that's an hour away from the city I could be venturing in. I was no way giving up an hour, which will end up to be longer, and I didn't give in. I just went through an update! Get it! Geez! So don't give into the concierge! Bell services on the way out was great. They stored our luggage while we ventured out into the city for a few more hours before we head to SFO. We came back and retrieved our stuff to repack a few things we purchased and off we went! read more

We booked this trip way back in Feb of 2019. Here we are now the first week of October. The property is located in an area of SF that makes getting around convenient. We are a block from Union square and a 10 min. walk from the ferry terminal. The cable cars are close as are many shopping and dining options. The on site restaurant is kinda pricy, but it is delicious. We enjoyed a nice lunch on the roof top open space. The staff was helpful and friendly throughout our week long stay. Our room was made up everyday and they were respectful of our belongings. Check the schedule that is posted to see what they are offering to the guests, as it changes through the week. The room we had was spacious with a small wet bar and sitting area. There is a nice size closet and shelves for getting your clothes out of the suitcase and an in room safe for your valuables. The counter in the bathroom is nice sized but we wished that it would extend wall to wall as our belongings would fall off into difficult areas to retrieve them. As much as we enjoyed our stay, the one thing that could have made it a 5 star stay was the room location. We were on the 6th floor (619). The view from our window was not worth opening the curtains for. We looked out to the backside of taller buildings and the 5th floor rooftop of this hotel. A large planter with dead weeds in it didn't improve the view. We were told this side of the property is quieter than the street side rooms. We are Hilton Grand Vacation members and we thought that the room view would be better. Truth be told, we booked thru RCI to Shell vacations due to HGV rooms being unavailable. It would have been nice to have a view of downtown San Francisco, but overall it did not affect our vacation or the effort that The Donatello staff gives to the guests. I would recommend staying here for the location and convenience that this location offers. read more

We stayed here recently for our fifth time. We have been spending a week there every October. We may not go back. During our seven days, we did not have hot water four of them. I can't--won't--shave without hot water. When I called the front desk, no one was too concerned. They knew about the problem. (You didn't want to warn us?) Like lots of crappy hotels they do not provide daily service to your room. (No one makes the bed? That's why I don't stay at an AirBNB.) An employee told me they went from a housekeeping staff of about thirty to seven. I am sure this saves them money but what about the customers? read more

My boyfriend & I enjoyed our stay. Very friendly staff and comfortable. The downside of our experience was when we got back home, my boyfriend checked his bank account and noticed a charge of $171. He called to see what he was charged for and the lady who answered told him he was charged for valet. We WALKED & UBERED during our entire trip. In their defense, it was due to them installing a new system. So, did everyone who didn't use their valet get charged $171 because of the "newly installed system"?? I don't buy it. I'm sorry. Communication is lacking on top of that when he had to call them back multiple times about his refund. He finally got his refund. But he shouldn't have had to gone through this. The Donatello hotel is amazing. The thing that separates the Donatello from other hotels is their wonderful staff. When we pulled up to the hotel, we were greeted by Joe and Brian. They both made us feel right at home. The reception we got from the front desk was amazing as well. We had arrived at the hotel earlier, then the 4 o'clock check-in. Joe took our bags and held them for us. Joe gave us directions to Chinatown. We spent three hours there until check-in. The room was very clean and nice. On the top floor, they have a club lounge, which serves coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Also on the club lounge they have a gym, Jacuzzi a men's and women's locker room with saunas. Monday morning I went up to the club lounge and met Bill. Bill showed me all the ins and outs of the facility. For the duration of my stay, anytime Bill saw me he would address me by name. As a matter of fact after meeting Joe,Brian,Rolando and Ms. Zenaida the next time they saw me they would address me by name as well. They made me feel like a part of their family. When you go up to the club lounge be sure to talk to Ms. Zenaida. She is such a lovely lady. Any time we needed anything for our room Ms. Cynthia was there to help. I cannot wait to go back and stay at the Donatello. read more

Was gifted an overnight stay in the city and was not disappointed with this at all! Was conveniently located by union square, within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Hotel has its own valet parking that varies by vehicle size and all of the attendants and front desk staff were helpful and full of smiles. Pretty sure every one of them greeted us as we walked around. Room was super clean and provided a fridge, coffee pot and microwave. But more importantly, the bed was like sleeping on a cloud. SO COMFORTABLE. Yes, there was road noise, but that's expected on busy streets in a bustling city. There's also a rooftop lounge that had coffee and tea to go with the city views. All in all was an amazing overnight stay. Beautiful hotel with amazing staff. read more

Yet another excellent timeshare stay from start to finish! Easily found it on Post and Mason St. Pulled up to the valet. Checked in and was greeted immediately by the front desk. I forgot the guy's name, but he was very helpful. Picked up the keys, was given more information about our stay, and I was on my way! We had a room on the 7th floor, and the only complaint was the street noise and thin walls. But we were warned of it, and not to mention that the only other available room was facing Ruby Skye nightclub. Also, its downtown SF, so high noise level expected. Okay, so back to the room description. I was very impressed. A fairly high ceiling, larger than your average room, and more space than anticipated. Upon entering, you're provided with a closet (and clean white robes), dresser drawers, and a shoe bench. The bathroom was clean and had a remote. Remote for what you ask? Well, the built in LCD monitor in the mirror of course. See pic! Only basic television though, so kinda useless. At least the shower head was detachable and flexible. We also had a microwave, a modern mini-sink, and fridge. Almost a kitchenette, only without a stove. So I guess it's considered a wet-bar if anything. There was a 50' LCD flat-screen with cable. An office workstation, and free wi-fi. A comfortable king-sized bed with clean sheets and soft pillows. A cool leather sofa-sleeper with extra bedding in the closet. Man, I tell ya, this place was so worth it! Outside our room, we're provided access to the Club Lounge on the top floor. Up here they brew Peet's coffee for free. More couches and tables for you to just lounge and relax, read, or watch TV. Patio chairs out on the balcony to enjoy your coffee, and enjoy the weather. As far as the balcony view, it was OK. Nothing scenic or spectacular, just a lot of buildings. The concierge desk was helpful; The guy there was informative about restaurants and touristy spots. The Fitness Center was kinda small, but good enough. It provided: Two treadmills, two exercise bikes, a few dumbbells, and weight machines. The locker room seemed pretty clean as well. The sink area even had items for shaving, now that's a plus! And with plenty of clean towels provided, I spent my last morning relaxing in the spa and then in the sauna. Score! On a side note, I also had issues with my key card. Again, I was given excellent service from the front desk, as they re-keyed my card with no issue. What a perfect staycation in the city!
