This hotel only has up to a one bedroom. I was expecting it to be a lot smaller than it was, so I was pleasantly surprised. The staff, like most Worldmark's, was friendly and helpful; the hotel was clean. The strange thing though is the flooring. If you weren't on ground level, the floors sloped, so my equilibrium felt off, and when I'd walk in the room I felt Like I'd fall. I gather it's because of the age of the building... What's also nice is the location. It's only a few blocks from Union Square and there is a parking garage right across the street.

It has been a while since we were here. Staff was so accommodating. Allowed us to check in a bit early! Helped with luggage and parking options. Guest services didn't push for a 'meeting' which was nice. The room was very clean and spacious. Parking is still so expensive but hey it's SF after all.

Small but comfortable Studio We stayed here for the weekend and sufficed our lodging needs nicely. Hubby planned the parking details since there is no associated garage or parking space with this resort. Parking in San Francisco is outrageously expensive so we used the garage at California Parking on Sansome Street. I had no idea that it was some 0.8 miles (19-min walk) from WorldMark with some uphill walk. Yikes! But I was able to close some Rings on my watch LoL We had a studio unit on the 4th floor. The hallways and our room was clean as what we come to expect from WorldMark as owners. We were not used to the small size of the room, though, but it's okay, it had all the amenities we needed including a small microwave and a fridge. The staff were friendly from check-in to check-out. They did mention attending an owner update but the concierge did not push us to attend, which we were thankful for. This location is a very close walk to the Dragon's Gate in Chinatown on Grant Street, Nob Hill, and Union Square. It is also located just one block from the Powell Street Cable Car. Review #2653

Great location, rooms are well maintained. Read a few comments about noise levels at night but wasn't bad at all. (They even provided ear plugs.) They gave us lot of info about the area, restaurants, markets, etc., and where not to go. Would definitely return!

The lobby had a welcoming setup. There was a flat screen TV along with coffee, tea, and cold water available to help you pass the time in case your room was not ready when you arrive. The one available elevator was super slow. I ended up taking the stairs most of the time even though I was on the 7th floor. They had signs on each floor that tell you how many steps to reach the ground floor. Although everything about my room was nice and clean, as a WorldMark owner, this was not one of my favorite locations. The rooms were tiny and do not come with kitchens. That's one of their major selling points about their properties. Also the shower had low water pressure. Overall the property looked to have been refreshed recently, so it looked pretty modern on the inside even though the building had a pretty long history. I have stayed at other hotels of relatively the same cost in the Union Square area and I have found that this place was much better than any of those locations. In case you're out late, please note that as with all hotels in the area, they will lock the entrances for the night as there is a huge homeless problem in San Francisco. There will be a security guard to open the door for you.

Location! Location! Location!! This is why we come here to do our Christmas shopping tradition every year. Love the access to this hotel, it's easy to get to, easy to park (we always have the hotel park for us but you can easily do yourself across the street is a huge parking garage) easy access to everything you'd want to see or do while in SF. Check in is at 4:00pm and check out is 11:00am. Kind of quick if you are only staying a night which we do for shopping purposes. We live so close to SF so sightseeing is not the purpose here. When we arrive around 10:30am we check our bags with the hotel and take off to Union Square. Starbucks on every corner is a must as well. The Westfield Shopping Mall is also a stop for us as we love Nordstrom and all the surrounding typical mall stores. You can easily do all your shopping here. The downside is you don't have your car so you carry what you buy. We dropped off our packages at the hotel then went out for round 2. Dinner reservations were at John's Grill. Pricey but good place to eat in the area. 8th floor facing busy street - no bueno! Very loud drunk bar crowds and kept me up all night until all the drunks finally left the bars and went home. I've stayed here before and I didn't hear a thing, but realized that was because I stayed in a room that was more inside facing away from the busy SF streets. Turned on the AC unit even though it was freezing, I tried to drowned out the noise from the street below but the unit kept turning on and off. That was just as hard to sleep. Oh well, it was only one night. Saw less homeless people this time around. Not sure why? Also, no poop in the streets like I witnessed last year same time. Maybe SF is cleaning itself up finally? No free WiFi. Waaah!! Kind of a bummer, but again, only here one night so quick stay. Plus, plenty of free WiFi at Starbucks.

When a guest left one minute later on the balcony close to the water, we changed seats. No one got seated in our previous bad seats the whole time we were there. Strike one. We began our meal with a $16 margarita, which was tasty but fairly small. Husband had two martinis and I had an Aperol spritz later. These four drinks accounted for about $70 of our bill, even though it was happy hour. Strike two. We asked about the $1.50 oyster HH special. Were they small and from Washington state? Our waiter Alex answered yes to both. When our dozen oysters arrived, they were huge, gritty, slimy and inedible. The waiter even said they were "bigger than usual" and he liked them smaller. When we only ate one and said we didn't like them, he didn't take them away nor comp it. Strike three. One the positive side, we split a New England clam chowder soup ($12) and he brought an extra little bowl. The soup included bacon, parsley, oyster crackers and was creamy and very good. I had the ahi tuna ($22), with seasame, soy, avocado, ginger, scallion, and a good amount of wonton chips. Generous portion and fresh fish, but the ahi could have been sliced smaller. Husband had the cerviche ($24) which had a nice serving of seafood, with local rockfish, gulf prawns, avocado, lime, cilantro, and corn tortilla chips. He enjoyed it. Service was pretty slow but they were busy. If I was to go again, I'd stay for the views and not the food.

It really made the difference in this case. First off, the lobby/rooms are gorgeous. It has a really fun, stylish vibe that sets a nice tone right when you walk in. I did happen to visit during a heat wave in San Francisco (rare timing) and unfortunately the AC stopped working in my room that night. But I have to give credit where it's due as the hotel handled it perfectly. They refunded the night without hesitation, and by 7am the AC was already fixed. That level of responsiveness impressed me. Three things I didn't like was they removed the gym for a conference/phone room? People like to keep their routine going while traveling and sometimes don't choose a hotel based on that. It also stated they had a gym, when they didn't. Should add it back. The bathrooms are insanely small. The lobby bar only has water? They can make some good money with such a nice bar. As for the location, if you're not familiar with Geary Street or the Tenderloin area, just do your research ahead of time. Personally, I had absolutely no issues at all and felt fine and completely safe. Try and get a higher floor for less noise, like any other city. It's also super convenient: there's a convenience store literally right across the street with snacks and anything else you might need during your stay. Between the staff, the vibe, and how well they handled the hiccup, I'd definitely consider staying here again (not during a heat wave haha)

Did I just beat the system and Yelp something in Belize?…read more This review is for Blancaneaux, Cayo District Belize. My wife and I were in need of some major R and R. We only had a week and were seeking a place where we could get to easily from a US gateway, yet be located as far away from real life as possible. Blancaneaux is this place. Located in the western part of Belize high in the Mountain Pine Ridge National Park this is one of the best kept secrets in the northern hemisphere. The location is absolutely beautiful and offers all the amenities that you would expect from a 5 star resort. The villas are large, comfortable and private. The views from each are spectacular. Nestled next to a river with rushing waters that will lull you into a restful sleep. The resort has two excellent restaurants, one offering Guatemalan cuisine and the other Italian. If either of these were here in the Bay Area there would be a line out the door and would take you weeks to get a reservation. Everything from the thin crust pizza to the Guatemalan beef will leave you begging for more. Coppola uses only the finest ingredients and makes every effort to find them. There is an organic garden on site where over 70 percent of what you eat comes from. The wine list obviously is 100 percent Coppola, but there are plenty to choose from in all price points. They offer plenty of excursions including day trips to several different Mayan ruins, caves and nature walks. Or if you want to be lazy you can sit out by the pool, lounge and read by the river or take in a relaxing massage (which my wife did twice both Thai and full body oil). There is a reason that Travel and Leisure Magazine has voted Blancaneaux the top resort in Latin American two straight years. http://www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest/2010/hotels/resorts-latin-america/46 It's the attention to detail and effort made to make you feel like you are a member of the family. The staff is among the best you will find anywhere in the world. And just in case you are not sold yet, this place is AFFORDABLE! I mean not expensive at all. This is one of the best values for your money that you find. Coppola Resorts from time to time also offers discounts or promotions, so make sure to check the website.

Amazing Service. Good Value. Butler Service…read more I came to the Bay Area for a relative's 80th birthday and booked The St. Regis because it was the only Forbes Five-Star rated hotel in San Francisco. I'm usually hesitant to stay at American hotel chains' "luxury products" because they often just feel like Marriotts with nicer tile (most new Ritz-Carltons, for example). I found the St. Regis to actually offer the kind of luxury service that is often missing in American hotels. I arrived fairly early, around 11:00 a.m., and the staff were incredibly friendly, accommodating both an early check-in and late check-out, along with a room upgrade. Prior to this stay, I didn't really understand the purpose of butler service, but they were kind enough to gift-wrap the presents for the birthday party I was attending while I booked a massage and walked around the city. The spa at the St. Regis is fairly large, with an indoor heated pool (well designed), a gender-separated steam room (out of order during my visit), and a sauna. I will say the spa could use an expansion or renovation. The "relaxation room" felt a bit like a repurposed salt room, and the men's lounge basically just had tea and snacks. The massage itself was great, and everyone there was extremely friendly. What really impressed me was the service. I casually asked whether they had bath salts available for use in my room, and within 30 minutes of leaving the spa, bath salts, bubble bath, and bottled water were delivered to my room without my needing to make a special request. Great attention to detail. I walked through the gym and it seemed large enough for a full circuit workout, with plenty of equipment. I do wish the hotel had more dedicated lobby or guest lounge areas. The check-in area, bar, and restaurant all seemed to blend together into one shared space, which felt fairly busy in the evening when non-guests came in for happy hour. The bar was nice but honestly expensive and not especially memorable. I was a bit surprised by some of the clientele (there were what I assumed to be a couple "working ladies" at the bar who I wonder if their services were less than the cost of breakfast in hindsight), though very friendly occasionally felt slightly out of sync with the otherwise polished atmosphere of the hotel. I didn't try the restaurant for dinner. The hotel does offer a complimentary car service around the local area, though unfortunately it was booked when I needed it. Breakfast was expensive, easily over $100 per person for a fairly normal order, but it was very tasty. The Eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked and included truffle, which was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable. I do think it could have used a deeper scrub, though I admit my standards may be skewed by an exceptional housekeeper at home. There was also a slight musty odor. It was not on the level of a room at an average Belmond property or the former Mandarin Oriental Miami, but it was spacious and perfectly comfortable for one person. I'm not entirely sure whether St. Regis considers itself directly competitive with those brands. In summary, the service is what makes this hotel worthy of five stars. They seem genuinely happy to accommodate nearly anything you might need or even casually mention wanting. Personally, I find San Francisco itself dirty, stressful, expensive, and rough around the edges, so having a hotel that felt calm, polished, and attentive made a huge difference in my trip.

Stayed here for 2 nights as part of The Edit program from Chase. They are also a FHR hotel but the…read moreChase portal price was significantly cheaper so we ended up using Chase. If you have both cards, check both portals. If you have the Amex Plat, you are also Gold Elite status so you can get some extra perks such as fast wifi (it's pretty fast lol). Service is top notch. Hotel is clean. Room is beautiful and quiet. I love how the AC is super quiet, I couldn't even notice it turn on. We also got $90 breakfast credit for two. The food is extremely overpriced and $90 doesn't get you very far if you eat at the restaurant. We ordered to go most of the time. Note that there is tax on the food and tip (if you choose). Breakfast: Two farm egg any style. Fine but small portions for $32. Would not order again. Chilaquiles. Also fine but basic for $35. Would not order again. Sourdough muffin sandwich: If you want best value for price ($26), get this. It's seriously huge and filling. California croissant: This one is like an elevated avocado toast. It's really good. Price is $31. The mixed berry antioxidant smoothie is also meh. I can make a better smoothie at home. As part of The Edit they also give you $100 credit to use on food and drinks only at the hotel. It was SF restaurant week so we ordered the $90 3 course meal for dinner at the hotel restaurant Astra. We ordered the duck cannoli (ok tasting but the duck is cold), braised short rib (very good! Love the polenta) and the brussel sprouts (menu said it was gremoleta/garlic/parmesan flavor but it ended up being gochujang flavor and it was overly sauced). Was not a huge fan. The hotel is dog friendly. They give you a bed and bowl and treats. The pet fee is steep at $200 per stay. There is the Yerba Buena gardens across the street (5 minute walk) to take your dog out. The park is clean with lots of grass. This was one of the deciding factors of us picking this hotel because it's hard to find grass area in the city. They allowed me late check out at 5pm which is awesome!! Also, they have a chi hair dryer which is very powerful. Location in Financial District is very central to a lot of eateries and next door to Soma.
