This place is a scam. Beware. Menus says $13.99 for a dozen donuts. I asked which ones were included and lady told me anything I want. I picked out 12 pastries. As you can see from the receipt she overcharged me for a dozen donuts plus 7 fancy pastries. It should have been more than 19 pastries but I only received a dozen. Great place for donuts! We went at 6am on Saturday and bought an assortment of long John's, old fashion, apple fritters and plain donuts. The lady was bringing hot ones out of kitchen and gave us one. Yum yum. We got chocolate milk and a breakfast croissant. The final cost was still less than most places in town. We decided to try The Donut Palace this morning. I didn't actually go, my husband picked it up on his way home from third shift, so I'll have to come back with more about the location (which I understand was an old Sonic building.) We got a maple long John, a plain chocolate frosted cake donut with sprinkles and a jelly donut. (My husband also got a chocolate frosted old fashioned and loved it, but that's all I know about that.) My first impression with the plain chocolate frosted cake donut was that the chocolate frosting didn't have a super strong chocolate flavor to it, but to be fair, very few donuts in Wichita do since Squeaks closed. I'm more of a fudgy frosting girl and it's hard to find someone who will just go all out with the chocolate frosting for some reason. But! It was still tasty, the whole thing was well balanced and the texture was light and crisp yet perfectly soft inside. The jelly donut is yeast, full of jelly all the way through and glazed like a Krispy Kreme. I think it's blueberry so they might have had a special jelly today. The texture was perfect but you gotta really like sweet donuts to make it through this one (I couldn't as breakfast). Definitely don't try to eat it without a plate if you take your time! I look forward to trying their other breakfast items eventually, and since their hours are so reasonable it won't be hard to do. If you're in the neighborhood and craving good donuts, give them this place a shot! read more

Great customer service, the employee that helped us even threw in a free donut! I had never had a cronut before, but it looked so good! And it was so good, I loved that texture! There is a drive thru and a walk in area, but no seating. It was no complaint for us that there wasn't seating, we took our donuts to nearby riverside park for a little Sunday picnic. I'm looking forward to trying more donuts, their biscuits and gravy, and their breakfast sandwiches. The best breakfast sandwich with bacon I've ever had! The bacon is amazing! All of the donuts (and pastries in general) are so fluffy! The donut holes practically melt in your mouth! The owner gave us samples of the honeydew smoothie and it was delicious! The only thing I didn't really like that I've tried was the Thai tea smoothie, it was very syrupy and thick but everything else was amazing! The donuts are absolutely delicious! Some of the best I've ever had--especially the original glazed and the cronut! You truly can't go wrong with any of them, though. The Cambodian family who owns it is very kind and helpful, as well! If you need a good breakfast, I highly recommend giving them a try. The donuts are very reasonably priced as well. I stopped by the Donut Palace this morning for the first time. I had been reading reviews on Facebook and decided today was the day as I needed to bring donuts to work so I got two dozen. I was NOT disappointed! The raised glazed are light as air without a greasy film or aftertaste. The apple and cherry fritters are huge and delicious! Everyone remarked the size of the donuts and then mentioned how good they were and asked where I got them from. I wasn't able to wait for a fresh batch of the cronuts to come out but I'll certainly be back for those. Thank you Donut Palace for making me look good on the job today!
