The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in, which made the whole experience even better. I ordered two sugar donuts, two strawberries and cream donuts and a cookies and cream donut, and honestly everything was delicious and fresh! The strawberries and cream were light and creamy, the sugar donuts were perfectly soft, but the cookies and cream absolutely FAVORITE!! it was seriously so good. Still luvin this donut shop. They make donuts... classic, traditional donuts. They got raised, cake, fritters, old fashion, and of course their signature French Kisses. Their version of a French Kiss is slightly bigger than bite size. They are custard filled raised doughnut bites covered in powdered sugar. Ohhh lala delicious. All their donuts are mighty tasty and sure purdee looking. The customer service is usually pretty awesome. They also sell coffee and have a cold case of drinks (milks, juices, sodas, water). I love the donut shop. It's better than BJ Cinnamon. The donuts are always fresh and I love their coffee. That's the main thing as they make very good coffee. Richard has Coffee-mate there in the refrigerator next to the coffee. I don't use that powder junk. I'm really happy with the quality of the donuts because Richard is a king making quality donuts. Love this donut shop. I first had donuts here about 4 years ago and they taste so good. I'm pretty picky when it comes to donuts. I've tried a few other places in Folsom and up the hill, and they do not come close to comparing with the donut shop. The donut holes are sub pat. The donut holes lack the fluffy and crumbly sugar coating that make good glazed donut holes stand out and fun to eat. The maple old fashioned is good with good density and weight. The store is clean and cozy and a nice place to hang out for a quick coffee break. Excellent and efficient service. Donuts were moist and good but not memorable, EXCEPT for the Crème Brûlée doughnut! Oh, I was not expecting it to be so amazing. I'm not a big fan of crème brûlée, I think it's an overhyped dessert, but their custard was light and creamy, the glaze perfectly caramelized on top. Poor and bad customer service received during visit. Staff named Carina/Karina very rude. My pointer finger accidentally touched the glass display in my attempt to tell her which donut I would like. In an unhappy and annoyed tone of voice told me to not touch the glass because she just cleaned it!!! # 1 very rude and poor customer service skills # 2 Change your minuscule sign saying "dont touch glass" to a banner so everyone can see it! # 3 I didnt touch the glass purposely... again the end of my pointer finger came close to the glass...its not like my whole palm is touching your glass display! Clearly this staff needs customer service training or maybe find a different job because she is clearly not happy working there. Sorry for the rant but so sad that staff like this person can negatively affect a business. I am picky about my donuts but alas we saw this on our way to lunch. With that said, we came around noon on a Saturday. Suffice to say, selection was picked over but that is to be expected. I am not one for crazy fancy donuts. I just like your plain traditional glaze raised. If you can't perfect that, then that's a tell tale sign if what the rest will be like. I have tried some that were so bad, I threw the donut away. Surprisingly not so here. The outside didn't look great but the inside fluffiness was. It probably looked better earlier that morning. I ding a star because it seemed pricier than I am used to. I think it was nearly $6 for 3 donuts? But hey I cannot imagine how many donuts you have to sell just to stay afloat. Went I to this place for the 1st time to pick up donuts for my crew. There were only 6 types of donuts and not an employee to be found. With the big cow bell on the door, I was sure someone would here me come in, but no!!! I see 3 workers in the back but guess they didn't see me. First off, the donuts are amazing. We used to come here all the time. After two negative trips, we have sadly decided to stop supporting them. The first negative trip was when the owner( i believe) made some negative comments towards folsom PD during the 5 minutes I spent in the shop. I tried to give the gentleman and opportunity to correct himself or stop being negative ( I get it, it's a touchy subject right now) and that didn't happen. On my second visit, my 2 year old daughter and I came in and waited at the door for our turn. We were yelled at to go outside. We were wearing masks. The second employee let us stay to inside because it was cold, however it just destroyed the start to our day. You don't yell at children. read more

My hubby told me about this donut shop about a year ago. Before we moved here from the Bay Area we had our favorite donut shop and now I am also going to be one of the welcome and grateful customers at this donut shop... there is no need to visit any other place when we found the best for us. I've only visited here a total of 2 times now-including this morning-however my hubby has been a regular customer for over a year now and he is not one to settle for just any donut shop. There are certain criteria we both need to confirm before choosing our favorite destinations which are... 1. Quality of the product-taste and presentation. 2. Cleanliness of the business. 3. Customer service with friendly welcome energy. 4. Ease of parking and access to get to business. 5. Selection on menu and availability of product. There is a sign on the door that reads service is not provided unless a mask is worn and that for safety measures just 3 customers are welcome in the store at a time. The donut shop is not very large however has everything needed to be efficient and necessary including cold drinks placed in a fridge with ease of access. There were already 3 guests inside so we waited outside at the door until a guest left. 2 friendly ladies wearing masks were behind the counter and another man who was also wearing a mask was behind in the baking preparation room. The guest before us was ordering one dozen donuts and didn't seem to quite know what he wanted and had a lot of questions however he was treated with patience and never rushed. I noticed that our cashier wiped down the payment display unit after each transaction and not quickly either- she sprayed the payment unit and wiped down thoroughly. A customer walked in when there were already 3 of us in the shop so the man came out from the back to let the guest know that only 3 guests are permitted at a time and as soon as one of us leaves she may enter at that time. The guest apologized and said she'll wait outside then. We took advantage of the buy 6 and enjoy 1 free special. Even with the masks worn by both team members we could sense the friendly warm energy by the tone of their voices and choice of their words to us and their guests. read more

0 stars if it were an option due to my last 2 visits not being so pleasant. I came into the shop at 7am this morning, a male was working. I politely asked to order two breakfast croissants, I was immediately told " we don't do those when we're solo" I replied, " that must be new because I'm in here often & have never been told that. His response, " No, it's not new, I've worked here for years & it's been the same, so goodbye you can leave now ( in a very rude tone)" I replied and said excuse me, as a customer you do not have the right to speak to me that way as a matter of fact I came here last week & ordered my usual croissant sandwich, you had an attitude & was very unpleasant and unprofessional. His response, I did not have an attitude, get out & don't ever come back here again, & when you're on this property I can tell you to get off of it if I want." I asked for the owners name & phone, he told me, "I run his store and I am not giving you his information." Last week, I came in around the same time & ordered a croissant breakfast sandwich, my usual, a girl who was very pleasant took my order, the same guy was there with her. As she went to the back to grab donuts off of a rack, I heard him tell her "no more breakfast sandwiches they take too much time." He huffed as he made my croissant. I didn't think anything of this & just brushed it off. While I was waiting a man came up & ordered a regular croissant warmed & he warmed it up for him without a problem. As a frequent customer, who actually like this donut shop, I will never give them my business again. They have the worst customer service. I will make further complaints as no one deserves to be treated this way. I am not one to ever pull the race card, but I do feel that his issue towards me could have been race related as I was the only one that he treated different on both attempts that I seen him.
