I placed an order on Monday for 30 doughnuts for my daughter's class birthday celebration and was quoted $30 total. I even confirmed the price during the phone call because I wanted to make sure I understood correctly. The order was very simple , plain doughnuts, half maple and half chocolate. When I came in on Wednesday to pick them up, I added 4 additional doughnuts at the counter for my family. The total came out to $62, which was more than double what I had been quoted. I asked if the amount was correct and explained that I had been told $30 for the original order. The employee recalculated it and still said it was correct, then asked if I still wanted them. Unfortunately, this put me in a very uncomfortable position because there were people behind me, my children were with me, and the doughnuts were for my daughter's school class. I felt embarrassed and pressured into paying an amount I was not prepared for based on the quote I had received. Mistakes happen, but the situation was handled with very little concern or effort to make it right. The experience left a bad impression, and I won't be returning. read more

Passable raised glazed donut but nothing remarkable; taste and softness remind me a lot of the donuts you'd find at the bakery section of a grocery chain. Donuts and coffee [Cameron Park CA] Ugh! Daylight savings time... lost an hour and now hankering for donuts. Took a little detour in Cameron Park to this local shop off of Highway 50. Inside is clean, spacious and bright with natural lighting. There are some table seating inside. I chose my usual cinnamon roll and hubby his regular raised glazed. OJ and coffee to wash it down. Really good donuts. Apple fritters on a whole different plane than anyone else local. I just wish they made more as I have arrived after they sold out too often. Pretty careful about when I choose treats, and these apple fritters are worth an extra hour of cardio! Staff is super friendly and fast. Easy parking for an in & out. Not a place to stay and eat. A few things: -I think my phone said it was closed. It obviously wasn't. -TGFGPS. Business sign wasn't lit. Open sign was. -Felt like my donut had been refrigerated. It wasn't a huge diversion from the freeway so sure, why not spoil myself a little more and pick up a donut or two on the way up to the snow? It was a tad disappointing. I'm on my way up to the cold. I'd prefer my freshly baked/fried/sugared goods to be warm. My cruller looked phenomenal but maybe that's how food photographers do it- it was cold. Not sitting-there-for-a-while cold, but refrigerator cold. Difficult to tell it was open for business. Even more difficult to find it in the dark. An 'open' sign in the middle of nowhere is too vague. Is it a tax preparation office? A massage parlor? Eh, phone luckily found it. Phone also told me it was closed. I am in Redding location scouting for a production we are shooting here in May. - I ordered a breakfast sandwich bagel. Now keep in mind this is a BAKERY I get my breakfast bagel to find out it has been microwaved and rubbery the less than pleasant lady working there could care less - HOT TIP you are a bakery you shouldn't even have a microwave in your shop. OR if you are so lazy and don't care about your customers just their money that you can't use the oven you should tell your customers you don't actually put the bagels in the oven or a breakfast sandwich in the oven you instead microwave them so they are rubbery - please due better please educate yourself on what a bakery does. I have to explain my low 2 star review. First of all the people that work here are very nice and the service is usually good when you come in. The donuts are absolutely delicious and that's why this is a very popular donut shop. My disappointment stems from an order I called in for 30 donuts recently for Sunday pick up. It was actually on Mother's Day, and I sent my husband to pick up the donuts around 9:30 am. We were throwing a Mother's Day brunch for 12 of our friends that day. When I called the order in on the Thursday, the man on the phone took my order down. Twice I told him I would be picking up the order Sunday morning the 14th and could he have it ready for pickup after 8:30 AM. When my husband came in to pick up the order there was no donut order. The man showed him the written order and said he had clearly written down Monday instead of Sunday for pickup. How did this happen when he repeated the order back to me when I called? In addition, because it was Mother's Day, there were no donuts left in the shop at all. This was very disappointing as I was throwing a brunch for 12 and we were looking forward to the delicious donuts. The man apologized, but didn't offer my husband any compensation whatsoever for the great inconvenience he caused us. My husband went all over town looking for donuts and finally found some at Raleys in El Dorado Hills. He was supposed to be at home, helping me get ready for the brunch. I hope the owner reads this review. What I'd like to say is...if you know it's a holiday and especially a Sunday, why wouldn't you make more donuts? To run out of donuts on a holiday weekend at 9:30 AM is just ridiculous! Also, when you make a mistake, and the customer is unhappy, do something to compensate or follow up with an apologetic phone call. That's just common courtesy and good business! read more

Owner is very friendly and accommodating and the donuts taste great. We were staying in El Dorado county since February 6, 2022 and left on Sunday of August 7, 2022. As strange as it is, one of my fondest memories throughout the last 3 months in El Dorado county will be our various visits to Heavenly Donuts. It has been 9 days since I last visited Heavenly Donuts with my young daughters, Sophia and Elika, respectively aged 3 years 11 months and 4.5 months now, on August 6, 2022 with my first visit having been on May 9, 2022 when my daughter said she wanted a donut after our visit to the playgroup at the Cameron Park library. As soon as I walked in I felt a wonderful energy from Heng. The shop is very spacious. As my daughter Sophia chose her usual chocolate donut with rainbow sprinkles, I was able to walk my then 1.5-month in the stroller to help her sleep and Heng smiled very warmly without objection. It was then that I knew that Heavenly Donuts was going to be one of our favorite spots as humble as it is in the rural parts of Cameron Park off the 50 freeway. Twice when we came here, Heng's sister-in-law and young niece, Elizabeth, Sophia's exact age, ran around the shop and played together. Not once did his sister-in-law object to my child having a good time with her daughter. All of the muffins here, chocolate chip, blueberry, banana nut, and poppyseed, are absolutely delicious!!! What is more is the kind energy with which they are prepared. Every time, I ordered coffee, Heng would immediately put out the orange container of half-and-half cream and allowed me many refills as I walked my baby daughter's stroller. I used to love this place. I live in town and this was always my go-to spot. Lately however, I have not been impressed. Their doughnuts still taste great, but I've gone there about 5 different times now and they are consistently sold-out of the doughnuts I want to purchase. I once went in at 7:30 am and they were already sold-out of the ham and cheese croissant? I've also gone there multiple other times just for their croissant, and they are ALWAYS out. I went in today at 10:00 am on a Saturday and they were out of chocolate bars. I definitely wont be going there for a while as every time I go, I'm let down. Tips for those who want a specific donut: you can always call ahead even days in advance to guarantee you get your perfect donut selection. They try to accommodate as best as they can for every customer. All donuts are made fresh and to reduce waste they are only made in the morning which is why sometimes later in the day the selection is limited. Based on ND, FB, and Yelp reviews, I decided to give this place a try. I wanted to surprise my three kids with doughnuts this Sunday morning. Mind you that the kids have been spoiled by their favorite place, the Donut Shop, in Folsom. First of all, the prices are a bit lower in Folsom and they give you a free 13th bagel with a dozen and free 7th bagel with half a dozen. As far as taste is concerned, the Donut Shop in Folsom is better and my kids wholeheartedly agree. I know I'll get some slack about supporting mom and pop shops which is absolutely a valid argument, but if I'm spending $$, I also demand superior product. read more

Great donuts. They don't have anything super fancy, like bacon maple donuts, but they do have a decent selection and everything I've had is tasty. The Crullers are excellent. I've never had one before, so I don't have anything to compare them to, but the ones here are light, fluffy, and delicious .
