Very strange experience. We placed a "too good to go" order at this establishment. When I arrived to pick it up, the lady behind the counter, looked at me, said she had canceled my order online, and walked away without so much as an explanation or an apology. If they don't want to be part of this program, they shouldn't have signed up for it. There were dozens of donuts still available so it's not like they ran out. The donuts are nothing special, just like any regular donut. Giving them 2 stars for charging more for sprinkles. I asked her which are regular she tells me any round donut so I stick to that, she then charges me more sharing that the sprinkle round donuts isn't regular. I told her you could have said that and she didn't apologize nor proceeded to charge he for regular. Not good service and so sad because I support local business but that's a shady practice charging people more . If I wanted mix I would have gotten different donuts and paid more. It's time for an update! As tradition, Sunday morning I stopped in to purchase 2 dozen Fancy Donuts and 3 dozen assorted Donut Holes for my daughter's 4th Donut themed Birthday. When I came in they had lots of delectable looking goodies, I purchased Jelly Filled, Cream Filled, Mickey Mouse with Fruity Pebbles and Sprinkles, Strawberry Maple and Chocolate Bars with Whipped Cream, Chocolate Chip, Maple and Chocolate Bacon Bars and of course the classic Sprinkled! They even threw in a few extra sprinkled donuts for the birthday girl, which was a sweet gesture, I left a nice tip! My favorite was the Chocolate Bar topped with sliced strawberries and whipped cream, doesn't that sound divine!? I would highly recommend this donut shop, trust me you won't regret it for drool-worthy donuts and donut cakes! It's become a tradition since my daughter's 1st birthday, we won't go anywhere else! We each got old fashioneds. One maple and one chocolate. What we noticed about several of the donuts were they weren't as brown as they should be. When we got home they looked like old fashioneds. The frosting seemed spot on, but the doughnut itself was soft almost squishy like they were undercooked. Just as the color told us. Fresh, fluffy, and never greasy. Ever since moving to Orangevale, this is my fav donut spot. However, I have to give a shout out after taking the chance on trying their low key infamous giant donut! We went in a few days before the reception and chosen a couple dozen donut holes, and a few dozen donuts. They were open to every combination of frosting/donut/topping combos we asked for. Had a random donut craving and saw that this place was open. It's in the same suite as the old Jack's Donut but it's under new management and a different name. There was an assortment of traditional and unique items which was a plus. They also had a lot of drinks to choose from. Environment is casual and inviting. The staff was very personable and friendly. The donuts that we picked out were light and fluffy just the way I like it. I was worried that it would be heavy and make me feel sluggish afterward (like most other places), but I admit I am pleasantly surprised. One of my favorite donut shops in the area. They carry your standard donut collection as well as many unique and fun flavors that appeal to both adults and children. My son is not a big cake person so he opted for a giant donut cake from Ducky's for his birthday "cake". It did not disappoint. From the reviews it seems like this place is popular for specialty doughnuts. If you want cereal on your doughnut try this place out, but avoid it for anything else. My husband went to buy croissant breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts. He paid extra to have a croissant sandwich, but they gave him plain croissants. By the way, these were the worst looking croissants I've seen in my life. Not flaky at all, basically regular bread with a coat of butter on top. They were out of chocolate bars so I couldn't try those (how can they be out of such a basic item??). They must take Old Fashioned literally, because my Old Fashioned looked like it was two days old. They accepted a return and were really nice about it, which does deserve mentioning. read more
