What an awesome spot for kids! I brought my niece here, and she LOVED her first visit to the DoSeum! If you have elementary-aged kids, that's the best age to experience nearly everything this place has to offer. If you plan to come often, go ahead and use your daily admission ticket and upgrade towards a family plan. Admission will run you $12 per person. The museum is split into several sections with themes of their own. My niece was all over the place in each of these sections. There's an area that allows you to build and fly your own homemade parachutes. We named them Chief Feathercone and Captain Coffee Cup. It was a competition to see if her chutes could make it further each time. She also like the outdoor waterworks and plumbing area. The major down side is that a few of the other exhibits had non-functioning displays. Unfortunately, there were no signs which explained what was not working. You just looked at it or fumbled around until you realized it wasn't going to work. On the other hand, there are so many other things to DO! Overall, my niece was super impressed that I could explain a lot of about science and what was happening with the items she played with at the DoSeum (so there's a win for me on excelling at elementary school science classes)! Can you PLEASE open the same amazing children's museum in the Washington, DC region!?! Our family first visited your facility years ago in the original, downtown space that has grown into a mature, intelligent space for children and families. We only get to visit when in town visiting our family, so for those folks lucky enough to be nearby, the DoSeum is the exception, not the rule, of children's museums. We have tried multiple museums designed for children in many States, and nothing else comes close. There's little I can say here to articulate how fantastic the space is - both inside and out - or how well the museum is managed. Each time, there is something new in addition to the traditional spaces. Thank you, DoSeum, for showing us what an intelligent space can provide our kids. I only have one comment: can you please get some better magnates for your store? I collect them and yours could be better. I will certainly come here for all their outdoor areas and activities. From giant bubbles to tree house and water experiments. The inside certainly requires more frequent maintenance. Possible that we visited on an off day where half of the stuff was broken or out of order, so had to patiently wait for our turn and lots of kids had different perspective of turn, so it's just a mad house. But outside has very well thought out areas and worth the visit. Adults must wear masks inside the building and I can't say that was a very exciting or explainable part of their policy. read more

My 2yr old had a great time! They have 2 sessions 10a-1p or 1:30p-4:30p and you have to buy your tickets and reserve a time online, due to COVID-19. We went to the first session since everything would have been freshly sanitized prior to opening. There were lots of staff working, engaging with the children and sanitizing surfaces and stuff. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. My daughter loved the mini town and the music exhibit the most. Upstairs exhibits aren't as toddler friendly, with the exception of the ball area. Pros: amazing and large space for kids to explore and learn. The membership price is reasonable, and they have great Members-Only nights that are a lot of fun. The cafe has some good food to snack on. Cons: can get very busy depending on the day, time of day, or whatever else is going on in the city. There is so much to do at this children's museum. Not as big as the Minneapolis and Houston museums, but bigger than the Austin Thinkery. Worth the drive to visit this place. read more

We went to the Dyslexia exhibit and it was nothing at all. It was people with dyslexia, which we already knew. There were kids' profiles of dyslexia which all seemed like they had victim mentality as they were all bullied or injured in some way. We are a thriving family of dyslexics and this was a sad and poor portrayal of the dyslexic life. It had a scrabble wall. My kid, typical dyslexic, can't spell. any kind of spelling will bring on ANXIETY for lag dyslexics. Poorly done. There should have been more about the dyslexia brain, dyslexia images of words, etc. All three of us left in under 45 min. read more

I was extremely disappointed with my recent visit to the DoSeum with my grandson. Although I have always had good experiences in the past, I was very disappointed in the number of exhibits that were inoperable or partially operable, as well as the condition of the toddler area (broken cars, missing parts, etc.). Even the bubble stations were subpar, as the mixture did not allow bubbles to be formed. We spent only about an hour, as I was not able to hold my grandson's attention when most of what we tried did not work. The experience was definitely not worth the price of admission. read more

We absolutely love this place. We have Science Spectrum near our home. This place was so much fun and had so many activities for every age. Save a little money and check this place out. If you have a kids museum member ship ask if you can use it here for a discount. Staff are awesome and like I said so many activities we came two days in a row. Save $100 on Sea World and stop by here for a day of fun $16 a person versus $50 + parking at SW. I doubt you will miss seeing a dolphin show to spend a day playing like a child. read more

My son had a fun morning at the DoSeum, but it was not without its issues. We arrived around 11:30 and it was not packed but definitely busy. There is plenty of parking near the DoSeum, but some of the spaces/turns can be a little tight. If you have a large truck or van you probably want to park further away from the building. As others Yelpers note, the DoSeum is full of stuff for kids to do. Some were for very small kids, some activities were for larger kids, but not many. My son is 7 and he had outgrown a lot (probably most) of the activities. Some of the activities were great, including making your own stop motion short film. He had some fun with that. There are lots of activities with sounds, light, and movement that he enjoyed. There are more rooms for smaller children and he did not enjoy the activities in those rooms. There are water apparatus outside as well as a large fort/jungle gym type construction. There is a slide that is probably a little over 2 stories high as well as other stuff. This was advertised as being for children 5 and up, but there were several pre-K kids that were 4 going down the larger slide. My boy loved that large slide, it was probably the favorite of the visit. The reason for the 3 star review is that a lot of the games/activities were not working or did not work completely. This caused a bit of frustration, but there is a lot to do. I can see how if the DoSeum is crowded it can be a bit of a mess, but it was okay when we went. I don't regret going, but given my son's age I doubt we would return unless we happen to be with smaller children. read more

This is a nice and clean children museum. We came here using our Children Museum of Houston Season Pass (Thinker $155 - Package). We were only able to get 3 people out of 5 for free. $14 per person. So we end up paying $28 for 2 kids. There were a lot of things for my kids to do. They had an amazing time. There is also an outdoor play area for the kids to run around. I prefer the indoor area since it was so hot outside. Parking is for free. There is a cafeteria where u can order food. Everything looked over priced to me. $10 and up. We end up walking across the street to eat lunch at Taco Cabana. (However, Taco Cabana was not all that great. There registrar was over charging the price from the menu. So check your receipt if u are eating at Taco Cabana). read more

What a blast!!! If you are in San Antonio and have kids, you will enjoy bringing them here. My four year old loved it! It is great to have a place where the kiddos can go and run without having to worry if something may break. It's pretty much all kid proof. We went around 5pm till close (8pm). The staff was stellar. Very kid friendly! It was great. Everyone had a smile on their face. We paid I believe ~$14 per person and there was three of us. Well worth it. The attractions were fun, and my daughter enjoyed the little village the most. She was able to try out being a veterinarian, police officer, pilot, construction worker, etc. The little bank and grocery store were cute. She loved pretending she was grocery shopping, of all things. We took so many pictures, but didn't want to post them all so you can see all the attractions for yourself. Came out to The DoSeum for the Fiesta Redo event for the first time. It was so much fun and such a great experience. It was an adults-only event, and a great way to explore the exhibits and activities. I loved all the interactive stations, and I would love to take my nieces and nephews to come and make a day out of it! There was so much to do and plenty of space to just wander through, even though it was a packed event. There is plenty of parking and the space is very inviting. The staff was so friendly and helpful. There were a couple of exhibits where the staff came and explained the activity and encouraged us to participate. There is something for kids of all ages and I would love to get a group together and spend an afternoon there. Since it's located off of Broadway, there are lots of cute shops and great restaurants in the area to make a day out of the area. read more

So fun. My 4 & 5 year olds loved it. So many different hands on areas and the kids were right in the sweet spot of being able to do almost evrything and not be bored. Please if you have children under two, don't bother. There are kids that run around that parents don't watch so they can sit on their phones. Little ones being knocked over and hurt. If you're a member there is no member line (they have one but it's never open because they're short staffed). You'll have to wait in the regular line which each time I've been here it's taken 30+ minutes EACH time to get in. The safety of the young kids is more my concern. Parents don't watch their kids and let them run rampid. If your child is under 2.. there really isn't anything to understand at that age. Other than balls. read more

I love this place! It was my daughters first time here, we had so much to do and she was already tired by the time we got to the Heb market... we didn't make it past that and she was out! She loved pushing the Heb carts, she loved the 18 month and younger section with the soft blocks and flowers - super cute! Took our 3 kiddos (10,9,2) to the DoSeum while visiting San Antonio. All kids had a blast. Exhibits and activities were well designed and well maintained. Outdoor areas were really nice as well. Only thing I would say is that it's a little pricey - i think it's really good value for the money, but if you have little ones with nap times, you just might want to plan things so you can stay long enough to make it worth your while. One of my favorite spots in San Antonio for kids to learn and have a blast! This place is roomy and very interactive for all abilities. I love that the Doseum is well organized and every exhibit is hands on. There a play-town for the little kids and a baby spot as well as outdoor attractions for the loud and more active kids. It's great how they have incorporated nature elements like a tree house surrounded by trees and a water exhibit with real fish, as well as a wading river. Off to the side is a nice sand box and the kids can go crazy in! They also have a little restaurant to order snacks and meals while your at the museum. This was the best children's museum I have ever been too. For 20 dollars (myself and child with military discount) I felt that I got more than what I paid for. The only reason why it's not a full five stars is because some of the exhibits did not work or where in need of repair. The admission price lets you in for everything. Unlike other places where they want you to pay more we were able to do everything. This even included a live story book reading and monster hunt after! They have a spy section where children can go on a spy adventure guided by staff, light and sound section where children learn through interactions how light and sound waves work, a transportation area that includes a airship game where they control remote controlled air ships and a augmented reality bike race, a robotics section where they control and program robots, a under the sea area that included a green screen and hand puppets, and a city planning area where children learn about city building by building their own city and a live feed from the museum in Mexico City where the children can interact. This was just inside. Outside they have a play area, giant treehouse, bubble area, and splash pool. The story time that was included with admission allowed the children to sit and hear a story read from the writer. After the staff had the children search for clues to find a hidden monster in the museum. While the experience was great and worth going back to I would like to see some things fixed. Not all of the robots worded and some of the screens were broken in the city planning area and some of the carpet trim was coming off in the under the sea area. This still didn't provide a bad experience but did take away. This overall was the best 29 dollars spent in San Antonio. read more

Wow! We had so much fun. I took my son to the old kids museum downtown and they closed it to open this one. So much to play and experiment with. So many different rooms and outdoor play. My son loved the water area outside and the high slide, the light room and the ball room. We bought an almond butter sand jelly sandwich which came with a choice of chips or fruit for $5, it was delicious. Water bottle was $1.50 but you can bring your own in as well as snacks but no ice chests. read more

This place is great! TIP: Go on a week day! It was pretty packed but we did go on a Saturday during Summer after all. We bought our tickets online which I think saved us a few bucks. Parking was kind of crazy we had to park pretty far. Once inside the kids were very excited. So many little areas and things for them to explore. Again, the only really downside was how crowded it was and with that usually comes kids that don't always like to share. My kids favorite part was the little town with the grocery store and veterinary office amongst other things. Very good place to use your imagination loved it. This is a great museum. We went on the first Saturday of the month, and we get one admission free because we had a BofA, Merrill Lynch or US trust credit card. The exhibits are terrific. The ball area upstairs has a series of tubes that shoot those super lightweight plastic balls everywhere. The outdoor area has these nice places where kids can get in the water in the summer. There's a treehouse that has some wooden and metal instruments at the top, whitch is cute. The Little Town exhibit is always popular with the HEB, Whataburger, frost Bank, airplane, trolley, etc. They have a food court too! The kids also enjoyed the huge chalkboard, the robot that mimics you, and programming the robot vehicles. Fun time at a reasonable price! read more

Let's all pause and reflect on the fact that San Antonio has officially become a metropolitan city. This museum is proof that our city is capable of amazing things. There are so many fun set-ups for all different age groups throughout the space. Upon entrance there is a wind tunnel where kids can put on butterfly wings and hold small kites. There is a motion sensor butterfly wall, and behind that a large area with tunnels and small hills for the kids to navigate. A toddlerish area houses the trolley car, bulldozer, grocery store, and airplane from the old location. The airplane has been upgraded to include working control panels and a luggage carousel where baggage can be "scanned." The outdoor areas are ah. maze. ing. One area is targeted at the smaller kids with a low river area where they can take off shoes and splash around. Another area houses a playscape with rope and bar climbing. The water table has short areas for the toddlers and taller areas for the big kids. They have all different types of contraptions and do dads to play with in the water section. There is a nice library area inside, which I'm guessing they will probably utilize for school field trips and education. The upstairs of the museum has (drumroll please) the coveted ball machine, but they made a separate space for it and upgraded the plastic balls. A quieter area up there has a real life puzzle map of the US, and some other history related activities. There is also a robot area and different tables where the kids can make crafts. The museum store is much bigger than before, and you don't have to walk through it to leave. The café is not finished yet, but it is supposed to open soon. If you live in the area it is definitely worth the membership if you plan on visiting more than two to three times. Also, members get to visit for certain hours that are not open to the general public. If you are not from the area, but have a membership to a fellow ASTC museum then I believe it is accepted if it's over 90 miles away. read more

I absolutely loved the DoSeum! It was so fun and exciting! I came here with my daughter, mom, niece, nephew, and cousins. They loved it! They had such a great time trying all the different activities including the Spy Academy, Innovation Station, Sensations Studio, Little Town, and more! I would say we were there as soon as it opened and left as soon as it closed. That's how much fun we all had! They all got to learn lots new things and exercise their minds by having fun and doing things they loved. I am really glad that they got to do many things here not just one which makes it so much more fun!!! I really wish we had more time here. There's so much for the entire family at the DoSeum. I love that they have a huge area for kids under 1 year old to play, our 9 month old baby was laughing and giggling nonstop with pure excitement and joy from all the fun things there was for him to do. Fun Fun Fun! Educational too! This is the best place in town to learn, create, and explore! The museum is split into several different sections, each with a different theme of exploration and learning. The crime lab looks straight out of CSI! It allows you to get hands-on and explore and learn how science is used to solve crimes. They invite you to touch everything, and climb all over the place. You can even climb through the ductworks just like a real spy! I really enjoyed the sound and light area, where you can see how light refracts, learn about wavelengths and different types of instruments. The entire place is thoughtfully laid out, and there's always staff around to assist, and answer questions! They were all very helpful and accommodating. The building is absolutely beautiful. It's an environmentally friendly set up, using recycled materials and low energy usage! It's got a huge solar array on the roof, which helps to power the building. Look out for the water catching system in the back. Make sure you see the playground area on the Broadway side of the museum. They have plenty of things to crawl all over, and an obstacle course! Absolutely worth checking out. The gift shop is great, with lots of little educational gifts. The best part is that they have lots of little gifts that are less than $3! Parking is easy!
