Triple Berry mule mocktail
Kim W.

I'm trying new things every month this year in honor of me turning 50. Today, I went to The Dub, Kansas City's first sports bar dedicated to women's sports. It's such a vibe. This is their 1st weekend with a new menu and it had something for all of us: the carnivore (me), the vegetarian, and the gluten-free/dairy-free person. They also had mocktails and N/A drinks. I appreciate this. All of the TVs had on various women's sports. They're showing gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, and soft ball on different TVs. It felt super safe and inclusive. Karaoke is starting 25 mins. 10% of their proceeds tonight will go to Safehome, a domestic violence shelter. Monica is amazing and I already can't wait to come back.

Go check this out: an outstanding, focused sports bar in the north part of downtown KC! The Dub is zeroed in on women's sports, but mostly, inclusivity and opportunities for all to enjoy a drink or a bite & a sportsball/athletic competition. Whether you fancy basketball, soccer, or hockey, there is almost always either college or professional women's athletics on the TVs. Don't sleep on the popularity of women sports; rather, ride the wave and enjoy how much fun it can be when everybody can celebrate athletics regardless of gender. The decor is KC-focused (think Current) or women's athletic memorabilia, with the 'Locker Room' adorned with jerseys and other regalia. Awesome stuff! But the chances are that you're there for a drink, and you can get a FABULOUS selection here. Specials every day, and some standards on the menu that you shouldn't miss. Craft beer is on tap, much of which is local, and cans of known labels are on the menu. Recommendation: the Jewel Box, made with local J Rieger vodka & a berry/lemon syrup blend and simply smashing! Seating is find yourself a spot, if there is one available, and there is a patio that is off to the far left of the bar. There is table service with orders from the menu, and during busy times it can get fairly cramped, but that just means they're popular! The shareables menu is not deep but what they do, they do fairly well. Enjoy the view with sight-lines that are pretty strong and TVs in most any direction. You're there to have a good time, and The Dub is giving us all that opportunity to do so with a vibe that celebrates women and women's athletics.

Vegetarian nachos (full pan)

Stopped in here on a Thursday night to watch the USWNT game. It was pretty busy, but we were able to quickly find a table. Our server came quickly with waters and we got some drinks. The server accidentally brought me the wrong alcoholic beverage, but she quickly corrected it. My wife and I shared the full pan of the vegetarian nachos. They're covered with white queso, shredded cheddar, jalapeños, black beans and pico, served with sides of salsa and sour cream. They were good. Our server was quick and kept our waters filled. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the bar was run given it only recently opened. They had adequate staffing. The bar and restrooms were very clean and there are plenty of TVs to watch the game. I'll definitely come back here to enjoy more games in the future.

Loving The Dub! The space is larger than I expected and the Current-colored walls keep the space feeling fresh and bright. There are 2 additional rooms off the main bar area, 1 of which can be reserved for private events. Not too long ago the entire space was closed for a private event, so a good idea to double check they're open before visiting. All the bartenders were delightful - welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The menu is solid and there are even multiple vegan options. The hummus plate was great and more of a platter given the generous portion. But I'll be returning for more of the vegan chili, yum!

Very cool sports bar for fans of women's sports, no matter what your gender. Stopped in on their first official weekend. Friendly staff, quick service. Had a cold beer and the flatbread pizza. Lots of women's sports on the TVs, volleyball, soccer and there was men's football game playing as well

We went to Double Tap KC for my friend's birthday and ended up having such a fun experience…read more We booked the virtual reality, which was definitely the highlight of the night. It was a little confusing at first getting everything set up and figuring out the controls, but once we got into it, it was a blast. The setup upstairs is really cool--it's somewhat separated, which helps you stay immersed, but there are still other arcade games up there so if you're waiting for your turn, you're not just standing around. One thing I really appreciated was the drink selection. I don't drink alcohol, and they had a TON of mocktail options, which honestly made the experience way better for me. It's not something every place puts effort into, so that stood out. The food was also surprisingly good, with plenty of options to choose from. Downstairs has more of a full bar vibe with additional games and more space to sit and eat (no VR down there), so it's nice to have both environments depending on what you're in the mood for. Overall, it's a great spot for groups, especially for birthdays or a night out where you want something a little different.

Really good sports bar! We were in town for the Argentina vs Algeria World Cup game and wanted…read moresomewhere to watch the other games the night before so we headed to old city! There was a concert of some type happening on top of the World Cup madness and it was absolute pandemonium!! It was amazing! So naturally, after partying and screaming through games, at the end of the night we wanted grub and this was one of the few still serving food. Service wasn't bad at all despite the crowded madness. We walked in and found a table ourselves as the host was MIA and then asked someone to clean it for us. Eventually, Casey W. made his way to our table to take our orders. At first he said kitchen was closing and that our food would take about 45 mins but we didn't care and said we were fine with the wait. After all, it was 11:30 at night and the place was packed! Drinks: I was the only one that had a cocktail, my boys had beers. I had the "blue balls" which was pretty good! Food: we had the mango habanero and Wilson's sauce wings with fries and 12 inch pizza because he said they were out of the bigger one. Wings and fries came out first and were so hot and fresh. I loved the mango habanero with pieces of jalapeño on it. The Wilson's sauce wasn't bad either. The ranch though?!? Seriously, KC might have the best ranch I ever had! The pizza came out not too long after and it was SO good! It was thin crust, very fresh, with chicken, mushroom, and jalapeños. It had the perfect amount of sauce and the flavor was just soo good! Didn't even get a pic because it got attacked soon as it hit the table!

The place was busy with the line going out the door. I felt the cherry pop cocktail was weak. We ordered chicken lettuce wraps that were decent and filling for two.
