This is a wonderful boutique with lots of thought put into the whole experience. The house itself is beautiful and beautifully decorated. It's one of the best shopping experiences you'll find. Take your time and explore each room as they're set up to feel the products in their environment. I just love places that go that extra effort to make your time there memorable. The selection of items is amazing with such a wide variety. Absolutely perfect if you're looking for a gift. I stopped in just to browse and left with a couple gifts, and not even a recipient in mind. Their stuff is so cool you'll just want to leave with something. And the candles! The scents! I just wanted to say that I thought it was a little bit rude and awkward that the staff wouldn't acknowledge my presence. I'm in my 20's and was with my mother) the entire time I was there. If I'd ask a question, they would respond back to her and not even look at me. At checkout they only addressed her even though I was the only one making a purchase.They handed her the receipt and the bag. Again never looking at me or responding to me when I would say" could I please have that gift wrapped" and so forth. I'm sure this wasn't ill intended but all age groups may like to shop there as well ! read more

I have tried multiple times off of a friends advice to shop here for home decor. I'm not looking for a candle I am looking to decorate multiple areas of my house. everytime I have come in since Christmas I find little to 0 help. if you want to purchase something off the shelf or display then that's fine. but I am looking for multiple items to complete two rooms in my house. upon entering there really is no one to help. there has been one girl inside who is always carrying items or arranging clothing she is very short and doesn't say much or want to help. i walked around for an hour without anyone assisting me or greeting me. they said their designer wasn't in. I came another day and same thing no real help someone by the cash register who was kind but for sure wasn't able to help with design. I walked around out and there were 3 people standing by a table by the back door talking. same short lady as before and two others. they offered 0 service. this place is a gift shop at best. no upscale items or design services. the owner should no that people get 0 help at this place and clearly nobody wants to do any work or customer service. off to pottery barn I go!! I tried to support this small but rudely staffed business. read more

What a lovely place!! At Old Town Orange, charming home turned into a wonderful place full of great decorations for your home. Actually be a great place to find unique gifts too. The ladies who work there were all welcoming and helpful. Beautifully restored home displays great merchandises and you will enjoy seeing them all (2 story home with garden & garage). The fall theme (Halloween decorations) is currently on display and you can find the cute seasonal items inside their converted garage. I was told they have awesome Christmas decorations and I can't wait to see it when the season comes around. I was able to find beautiful scented candles (soy, clean burning) & beautiful kitchen towel. My mom found herself a cute pajama pants (light, cotton, & colorful) & scarf. You can find something for every room in your home and enjoy browsing in this charming store. Parking was easy (behind the house) but plenty of street parking available too if the lot gets full. read more

Overall kind of snobby, overpriced and no one was really available to help me. I had to search out an employee from outside and this person seemed slightly annoyed at needing to help me! Strange experience. Won't be recommending or returning. To top it off I was responded to weeks later by someone that apologized, promising they would make it up to me? When I inquired back, I got no response. This was over a month ago. Customer service is key, however it does not exist at The Duchess on Cambridge. I have taken my business to Summerhill LTD in the Orange Circle. I highly recommend you do the same. They are lovely and were very happy I came in to shop. read more

There's also always new items circulating throughout the store. A complete waste of time. The renovated old house is beautiful on the outside but the inside, like Bonnie, "The Duchess" is shallow and phony. What claims to be an interior design store is really only a high end, over priced gift store, including women's clothing. It felt like the business was not sure which direction it was taking. There was very little furniture at all. We spoke about a custom chair I wanted them to make and the encounter itself was disappointing as Bonnie was full of attitude but not much knowledge. Fortunately I found someone else, a European without a false title, that designed a beautiful custom down, overstuffed, wingback chair. Custom Blinds and Upholstery in Anaheim. Rose was wonderful with 30 years of experience and gorgeous European furniture from which to choose. It was worth the extra money I paid for the quality - as it will last me a lifetime. I can find expensive gifts without the attitude at Fosters gifts in Orange. read more
