The ambience is quaint with tables and chairs inside. Service was ok... my son had a wood chip from the wooden board that the pizza was on and they didn't offer him a new pizza but offered to take the meal off the bill... and boxed the remaining half of the pizza. I wound up speaking with management to advise he wasn't going to eat the rest of the pizza and there was a bit more than half remaining. They tried to correct the situation however the initial customer service part was lacking. Was also going to charge extra for more sauce for the pasta I got...so I didn't wind up paying the additional amount. Went out with a group of friends and had a really enjoyable experience overall. It wasn't very crowded, which made it perfect for sitting, relaxing, and actually being able to catch up over dinner. The restaurant itself was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive, polite, and offered great suggestions, which we appreciated. We started with the meatballs and calamari. The calamari came with both a white and red sauce -- the white sauce was a standout and really delicious, though the red sauce wasn't quite to my taste. For dinner, we ordered the fig pizza, which came out perfectly cooked and was absolutely delicious -- definitely something I would order again. One of my friends had the chicken Alfredo and said it was well-seasoned with a good amount of sauce. Her only note was that the full cloves of garlic were a bit overpowering, and she would have preferred them sliced or minced instead. My husband ordered the steak and said it was perfectly seasoned and cooked exactly how he wanted it. I had the branzino, which was good, but I felt it could have used a bit more sauce and salt to really bring out the flavors. Went with two girlfriends and caught the tail end of happy hour so ordered risotto balls, truffle fries and half the fig pizza with some wine. There are plenty of options for happy hour so worth swinging by during that time. The sauce that comes with the truffle fries is was yummy with a hint lemon. The fig pizza was just the right amount of sweet, I would order it again for my meal. We also ordered gnocchi and subbed the fish with grilled chicken and it was mouth watering. Some of the softest gnocchi I've had- it literally melted in my mouth. The other main dishes everyone else throughly enjoyed as well. I was turned onto this place by American Express! American express is offering this respy app and that's how I found this wonderful restaurant. I called them because I have extreme food restrictions and the lady on the phone. Kindly said that's not gonna be a problem here. This place is classy and casual all at the same time. You had some people who dressed very nice and some people who are business casual. I wore a dress and I was completely comfortable. It was pretty busy and the inside got pretty loud so we chose to sit outside on the patio, which was very comfortable. They have a grass area with steps leading down to it, it was quite curious. Everyone who worked there extremely kind. I loved it when the person who was in charge was clearly Italian! I ordered the salmon and it had squash and tomatoes and arugula. When I told the woman of my food restrictions, which is no dairy no sugar no gluten she said no problem. That's not in that dish! I didn't even have to ask them to make it healthy, it was healthy from the get-go! Oh my gosh, I'm in love. I have been hunting for a wonderful piece of salmon for 2 1/2 years, which is when I moved to Texas. I have finally found it! Even though this restaurant is 30 miles from me I will be coming again and again. The prices are extremely reasonable. My salmon was $26 and my glass of wine was 12. I would've paid much more than that and been happy with the price. This is a great place for a holiday or a birthday or a date. They had an adorable stylish bar inside. Cerdo is a really solid spot in Cedar Park! The food is good and the menu has a fun mix of small plates that make it easy to share and sample. But there was no sear, like it had been sitting out steamed, fatty, just a bad cut of meat. The Brussels were cut huge which made them also very hard, but ok flavor. My husband got the lamb shank and said it was really bland. The calamari was ok, but not crispy. And on top of all that service wasn't great. Our server seemed intense and rushed the whole time. At one point my husband asked him to check back in a few minutes and he might be ready for another glass of wine but instead the waiter just brought another glass that wasn't asked for. You can't go wrong with the appetizers here. The truffle oil fries were crispy and had a decent truffle flavor. The beets were so refreshing along side the heavy pastas. The bruschetta was delicious. And the calamari was the perfect texture. However I thought all of the other dishes were good but ok. I enjoyed the gnocchi a good amount. It's a lot softer than any other gnocchi I've had which I liked but my friends weren't the biggest fans. The chicken marsala had really good flavor that transferred to the pasta well. The bolognese was simple but decent. The carbonara was also another dish that was good but it didn't really stand out to me. I do think it could have been a little creamier though. I had higher hopes for the fig pizza. It's usually my first choice whenever I see it on the menu. But usually there's some sort of savory element to balance out the sweetness of the figs. I didn't really get that so the pizza was just very sweet. But I did really like the pesto chicken pizza. The seafood risotto was pretty good but I wish the rice was a lot creamier and broken down a bit more. I like that they gave us so many mussels though. read more

Honestly so disappointed in Cedro. We were so excited to try Cedro and ordered dinner for our family to go. We picked up right away but you would have thought our food had been sitting out for hours! The two flatbread pizzas we ordered were hard as a rock! Don't know if they toasted it to death or what but it was uneatable. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs for our littles and the meatballs were still pink inside... we had to cook them longer and the noodles in every dish were so mushy and broke apart every time you tried to pick them up. The braised lamb orecchiette pasta was similar in taste to the spaghetti. The fettuccine carbonara was the only thing that anyone was able to eat but even that lacked flavor. I went here for a friend's birthday and we split seven dishes between 7 people. I had high expectations for this place because I love pasta and Italian food. Unfortunately, the dishes were very much okay for me. The bruschetta was yummy, but that was an appetizer. The tomatoes and the sauce mixed well together. The chicken marsala pasta was okay, I feel like the pasta tasted okay and the sauce was alright. I've never had chicken marsala before so I can't really compare what the dish is supposed to taste like, but based on my thoughts of the other dishes I'm not sure if this was dish was amazing. The salmon and gnocchi were also okay. I've never had gnocchi before but these pieces were bigger than what I thought they should be and my friends told me that they aren't typically like that. The salmon was yummy though. The mussels and risotto were a first for me. It's hard for me to know what to compare this to but my friends told me the mussels were not that great. Some of them tasted pretty tough for me. I care about the texture of my food and the risotto texture is not really my favorite. Truffle parmesan fries were yummy, but those are not that hard to mess up. The fries were nice and crispy. The carbonara was what I was looking forward to the most. It was sadly just alright. There was a poached egg that we broke up and this is probably on us for not breaking it up all the way; but we had chunks of egg throughout the pasta. Typically, the egg is mixed into the pasta dish and we don't really need to do anything besides mix it up a bit and eat it. Overall, this restaurant was okay. The staff were super friendly though. I stopped in here for a glass of wine on a Saturday night without reservations. It is in a strip mall area next to the Alamo Theater, so I would imagine many people come there before and after a show. I sat at the bar and was greeted very warmly by a few people that work there. They were very prompt. We discussed what wine would go great with the fig pizza and I decided on an Italian Beaujolais. Delicious! It went perfect with the figs. A real stand-out for Italian food and top marks for Happy Hour. We started with mimosas. Their HH offered a bottle of sparkling at a good price to split, plus the choice of cranberry, orange, or grapefruit juice. We ordered the meatballs and calamari from their HH menu as a festive way to start our evening of catching up. The meatballs come with a warm red sauce and helped me stay on my high protein diet. Notice: the calamari is one of the best in Austin. The batter is crisp and light and the calamari also comes with some thin strips of zuchinni coated in the same seasoning as well as dots of yellow giardiniera peppers. It is the perfect date night choice because each bite is the same size and easy to eat. Next, we sampled the carbonara. I love a good carbonara and felt it would be a good test of the pasta quality here. We loved it! The egg yolk mixed nicely with the sauce and created a silky coating on the homemade pasta. The pasta is made each day in-house and I loved the bite on the fettuccine. It was perfectly cooked. Somewhere during the meal, little slices of homemade focacica arrived with an olive oil dipper. I loved the focaccia and wished I had ordered the appetizer portion. Delicious. Finally, we ended the meal with crème brulée. I wasn't excited about having crème brulée because it's usually average but I loved the crackle top and how warm the custard was underneath. It was light and creamy and the right option for a shared dessert. In summary, Cedro is a best kept secret. Each dish is a flavor bomb and the staff is professional and attentive. The dining space is a long rectangular space and the lighting, linen table clothes and low din of conversation among diners reminds me of the typical restaurant in France or Italy, especially in the Spring when you can enjoy the back patio dining. If I lived here, I would be working my way through the pasta menu and you should, too. read more

Offering complementary parking outside, we were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. This restaurant has patio dining as well as indoor dining for your comfort. Our server was wonderful, and that totally in tune to pacing our meal to our comfort level. She also visited all the items that we had questions about on the menu. A relaxed decor that was very clean. The menu offers a great selection of housemade fresh pastas, house pizzas, and wonderful entrées. We started with the bacon wrapped dates which were absolutely cooked to perfection and served with arugula and a little bit of a balsamic reduction, which was awesome! We also enjoyed the cauliflower which was seasoned so that it was a perfect accompaniment to our drinks. The focaccia was a fantastic addition and we totally enjoyed it. Moving on to the main course, we enjoyed the pork cutlet Parmesan, which, being from Iowa in the land of the pork tenderloin, we would say that this ranked one of the best we ever had! Further, the lamb dish was phenomenal, with braised lamb that fell apart in homemade pasta sauce was just over the top. Not one thing we tried was less than awesome. Checked out this spot during Austin restaurant week '24!! It's right next to the Lakeline Alamo Drafthouse movie theater. They accept reservations, but I didn't think it was too bad for a Saturday night. I made reservations for 4 at 8:30, but they were able to seat us by 8pm. They are an Italian scratch kitchen and wine bar. They have handmade pasta noodles, and the fettuccine noodles in my Bolognese was the bomb dot com. This is also where I tried my first glass of soave wine (white). Freaking delightful - bright, clean, crisp, with fruity notes. Paired so wonderfully with my Caesar salad and PEI mussels. The restaurant week deal was a 3 course $60 menu, which I ordered the Caesar salad, fettuccine Bolognese, and chocolate mousse. We ordered the grilled bread and mussels to share with the table.
