I grew up in Millbrae and we stayed here for a family reunion for the weekend. 5 Stars based on; Parking (close to entrance), Easy access to freeway. Restaurants nearby Grocery store I highly recommend Lunardis across the street. Hospital two blocks away. Airport ten minutes via side road. Quiet!!! Quiet!! GREAT breakfast which changes daily. FRIENDLY staff, like being at home. Very comfortable rooms each one has different vinyl to play on record players. Refrigerator which works.... VERY comfortable beds and rooms are clean. We were willing to give this place another shot because of its location to local restaurants and grocery areas. Unfortunately, there were a few cons that forced me to give a so so review. I was told that check in is at 3pm. We arrived at around 2:30pm so we didn't expect our rooms to be ready. We weren't checked in until around 3:30pm. Once we received our keys, we arrived at our room wide open which I guess is okay since at least it smelled like it was just cleaned. The wife wanted me to request for additional toiletries and blankets but we discovered that our room phone was broken. I had to walk all the way to the front lobby and explained the situation and they said there is nothing they can do about the broken phone. The coffee machine in the front lobby was also broken and the LP player in our room was also broken. I would probably go back to this hotel due to proximity but don't expect premium service and amenities. read more

The Dylan at SFO was amazing! We were planning our family trip to San Francisco but didn't want to stay in the city. A former co-worker suggest Millbrae, which started our search. Almost immediately The Dylan at SFO came up on our search so we took a deeper dive. Our initial call was with Joyce who was fantastic! She was very patient and informative throughout the call. The Dylan did not disappointment when we arrived. Everyone was so nice and the place was how it looked in all the pictures. We stayed in the deluxe room, which was super cool with a record player...a legit record player with vinyl! The added bonus was the free coffee, latte, mocha and hot chocolate in the lobby. Another bonus was the water station so bring your reusable water bottles (however, they have water bottles you can use or purchase). The location of The Dylan was perfect. It is a very short walk to the Millbrae BART/Caltrain station but there is also free parking if you have a car. Across the street is CVS and Walgreens with places to eat up and down the El Camino Real. Oh, and Trader Joes is up the street (a bonus of us Hawai'i people). The Dylan was the perfect place to stay for my last night in San Francisco with an early flight the next day. As many have commented, the location is ideal if you need easy airport access, but likely not a great home-base if you're still planning to explore the city. There are a decent number of restaurants and shops nearby, so you're not so far out that you're stuck eating fast food. There is a decent sized parking lot in which you can self-park. I had a standard double room, which was clean and sizable. There was an adorable corner with an armchair and a real working record player with a small selection of records, which added charm to the room. Many of the rooms are accessed through an outdoor corridor, though a small number at the end of the hallway have an indoor hallway but still require a trip outside to get to the lobby. They offer free breakfast, but it starts around 6 AM and that was when I had arranged to get my shuttle, so I did not get to enjoy it. You do need to register for a specific shuttle time because the shuttle is shared with several other hotels. Be prepared to put your bags in the back or hold them on your lap --- I wound up in the very last seat. read more

What a hidden gem! This is our 5th or 6th time staying here and each time we are impressed with the fact that they keep improving. It's so impressive. Also, just a short walk to restaurants. There is also a fun restaurant next door. The beds are so comfortable, the Staff is so accommodating, the lobby is an adorable hangout with happy hour and a cute outdoor courtyard. This is the perfect place to come stay, walk into town for a great meal and park fly out on vacation. There have been a few times when we returned from our trip and didn't want to drive so we just stayed another night. This really is the perfect place!!! I can't say enough about the Staff! My father was so exhausted and tried to check in this afternoon, and was very let down by this place to say the least. First of all, the place appeared to be more like a motel/budget stay which is fine, but not what they're selling online. Second of all, my dad was seriously mistreated by the receptionist and felt he was targeted because of his ethnicity. He noted that she interacted with others checking in kindly, but treated him very rudely and spoke to him in a brash manner when he made simple requests and informed her he was displeased with the quality of his room. Dear Hubby was not enchanted with the funkier aspects of the layout of The Dylan, especially in the hallways, but I took it in stride. Arriving at 3 in the morning on Wednesday, I was enchanted by the holiday decor complimenting the mid-century modern design aesthetic. There is a sense of whimsy and homeiness in the lobby area, with a giant Scrabble board on one wall, and see-through bookcases filled with books and decor accents. The hallways are tight, but it worked out for us to load up a luggage cart and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. The luggage cart was substantial, not rickety, and glided very easily. Our room was on the cozy side, and lacking the refrigerator I thought was part of the deal. The decor was high-style and elegant. Small adjustable wall since lights made it easy for one to read without disturbing your partner. A plushy shower was a great way to start the morning get-ready routine. They offered a carb-heavy breakfast buffet in the morning, but straddled the line between several cultures by featuring cold meat and cheese, rice, scrambled eggs and potatoes, plus sausages, waffles, yogurt, fruits, juices, and coffee. It was tricky to negotiate, as all were tucked into a corner, with only 2 or 3 people able to access at one time. Overall, I was pleased with the hotel and wished that we had more than so few hours there to sleep with our late night arrival. read more

Let me say WOW! I'm putting this review everywhere! This is not what I expected to be doing, but there's so little exceptional customer service we hear about that I had to. First, the property is very aesthetically pleasing and clean! The photos on the website are identical to what you get. Our room was a traditional double. Pay a little more and get some amenities like fridge and microwave. The rooms are very nice and the beds were the most comfortable I think I've ever stayed in, truly! Parking... one of the only places that is free and convenient! No car? No issue. The Millbrae BART station is not even five minutes away to walk. Now let's get to the staff. We came for Gay Pride and they were so LGBT+ friendly and welcoming. From the first phone call, they were friendly and willing to help and as someone that's never been to San Francisco, I had a lot of questions. We needed more hangers and we were sent some within five minutes. The stand out was Maritza, our TV was not working and she came up to try and help. When she could not resolve it, she contacted the beyondTV service and connected me. WOW! The Dylan Hotel SFO was a phenomenal stay! Thank you so much! Avoid this place like the plague unless you want the concierge breaking into your room while you sleep! All was going well until a flashlight started shining into me and my girlfriend's room circa 11:30pm. After clearing identifying that my girlfriend was laying there in the bed, the individual with the flashlight then proceeded to enter the room with a key card. After announcing my presence the individual the fled. I called the front desk to inform them of what had just happened and was BAFFLED to hear from the concierge that it was him who had just answered. He said he was checking to see if the room was empty? Excuse me, you couldn't check on the computer? You couldn't knock? You couldn't tell from shining a light inside and seeing someone was laying there in bed? I emailed the hotel to inform them of what their employee admitted to doing and have yet to hear a response after 72 hours. What a joke. read more

Location is ok. Yes its not near the tourist area of San Fran. But look on the bright side. The rooms are way bigger compared to hotels in San Fran. Prices are cheaper. Free breakfast. Best is that its close to the Bart Station and it cost $4.65 one way to go to Pier 39 or Fisherman Wharf or downtown. So its not bad. Yes the location might not be great but its also close to airport and that means free airport shuttle. Service was great. Place is nice and clean. You get what you paid for for the location. Nice pleasant stay. Free parking available. The style of the hotel is like a motel. It is secure because you have to go through the front entrance to go to the room. Washroom nice and clean. There is someone on site 24/7. If you forget your tooth brush or toothpaste then you can get it at the front desk for no charge. Awesome. I liked it. It costed for 2 nights $350 where as in financial district was over $500 for 2 nights. I booked it last min. So price was what determined to stay here. read more

The price super affordable, and just about 5mins from Sfo...This was our last minute way of finding a place right before boarding from Honolulu.. Had to get on the plane just to catch the next flight, which would take us another week if we stayed in Hawaii. There were 5 of us that check in here,so we were loaded with luggages.My sister and my Dad got here first. My sister informed me that the front desk that was working last night was very rude to her.So I wanted to see for myself.Sure enough. This person has no personality at all(her name Is Joyce) I mean NADA, you are working up front and you don't have such personality, then why are you working here.She doesn't seemed to love her job,or atleast like it. Just the fact you are getting paid, atleast pretend that you like your job your, getting your bills paid right??! First and foremost, if you're serving customers, and your are at the from desk your personality is very important. Your smile, needs to be on point wether you're having a bad day. Second, when people are speaking in your tongue, don't be rude and not conversations back,.I mean what's the deal,I'm a customer, treat me as one, without one of me, there won't be you in that position.. The room was very comfortable and clean, the location was very convenient, they provide free transportation to the airport, and the price was reasonable. The location is a short walk to the BART rapid transit station. It is also walking distance to a couple of shopping centers with restaurants, and a grocery store. Staying in the city area of San Francisco can be quite expensive. I would recommend staying here and taking the BART to the areas you want to go to. The walk from the SamTrans bus stop is a long walk that is impractical with luggage. You'll need to Uber from the bus stop. The room looked nice but it smelled a little funny. Instacart was able to drop my order off at my door without getting the front desk involved. However, the room had no refrigerator, ice chest or microwave. The BART train ran nearby and blew its whistle all night, waking me up twice. The constant trickle of a water fountain outside made it a little hard to fall asleep, although fans of ASMR might like that. Also, beware of door jams. My jacket got caught in the bathroom doorway because the metal door jam was sticking way out. Luckily my hair didn't get caught in it instead. When I informed the front desk took a report but didn't offer a complimentary anything. They did send maintenance to fix it promptly, though. Before I told them about the door jam situation they were nice enough to let me check out an hour late, but they didn't seem to inform the maid who came in on me while I was still in the room. Nothing is complimentary. Everything is for sale, even breakfast toast. Maybe coffee is free but the mini cameras everywhere make it seem like maybe it isn't. One plus is that the rooms nextdoor seem to have a decent amount of sound proofing. All in all it's a decent but out of the way hotel with a few quirks and fewer perks. Loved this hotel! My best friends and I decided to do a girls night in last minute and came across this cute modern designed chic hotel! It's right off of the highway in Millbrae near the bart station. I love that this hotel is inspired by a surrealist artist! I'm a huge fan of Vladimir Kush who is also a surrealist artist. I love that the theme color is blue and that the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We checked in late at night on a Saturday about 12:30 AM and the check in went smoothly as I expected. We got a double queen room. It was small but sweet! Had all the essentials we needed. Their bathrooms were clean, beds were comfortable and had strong AC. This location is also convenient Bc it's close by to a lot of drugstores, food restaurants etc.. they also offer free shuttle to and from the airport! I'd definitely recommend this for lodging. Your stay also comes with breakfast and that includes continental and hot breakfast like waffle eggs etc.. Their lobby/breakfast are are combined it's a small place but very well constructed. Obviously you can always bring your food back to your room If you choose to. But the breakfast/lobby has small iPad-like tv's and you can watch your own show while eating your breakfast! It was great. Overall, everything from start to finish was a great experience. Definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to friends and family who are traveling read more

We enjoyed our stay at The Dylan. Although from the outside it looks like a low-budget motel, the rooms have been recently updated and they are really quite nice. The beds were comfy, there was a balcony with a little sitting area, the bathroom was spacious and clean with a rain showerhead, and our stay included free breakfast with hot food options, free wifi, and free parking as well. We had a deluxe room which included a microwave and a mini fridge, but I'm not sure if all rooms have them. We would definitely stay here again in the future! read more

We stayed here to avoid the ridiculous SF prices while attending Octoberfest. It's conveniently located next to Caltrain and Bart. We were very happy with this place. It's modern and very clean. Our room was small, but had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. I have such admiration and appreciation for the man (who might be the owner) that checked me in and refused to let a pushy/rude/A-hole cut in front of me. He said "umm no, that's not how it works- she was here first and I'm helping her" Thank you!! Check out wasn't until 12:00, that was such a gift! Our only complaint is that the TV remote didn't work. I absolutely recommend this place. it's very reasonable, it's cute/fun/current, and passed the test. read more

I had a short, two-day stay for a business trip, but was actually very impressed with this hotel. Marco, the front desk rep I worked with let me know the property was recently renovated (I've never stayed at this hotel previously). Overall, it's a cute kind of hipster-vibe hotel. Very clean, nice staff and complimentary breakfast is also nice and the food was different every day - which is nice, because a lot of hotels just serve the same food everyday. Also love their barista machine in the lobby (you can make lattes, mochas, cappuccinos, americanos, etc. all with the touch of a button...of course free)! Marco was kind enough to upgrade my room. He upgraded me to the 2-bedroom deluxe with the mini fridge and microwave. My room even had a balcony to sit outside and enjoy the weather or you could throw a record on the record player inside the room - super cool! I flew in and out of SFO. The hotel conveniently has a shuttle you can schedule for free to shuttle you back to the airport to fly back out. This was very nice and convenient! Okay so this one is complex. The title of this hotel is misleading. I want everyone that reads my review to understand that it's not conveniently-located if you're traveling to San Francisco. Yes it is located right next to the BART. If you don't mind the BART okay maybe the statement I started off with is untrue. But if you don't like public transportation you are going to pay for the distance between the Dylan Hotel and San Francisco. If you're like me, you're visiting San Francisco for a bit of fun over the weekend or for a vacation. And there are lots of beautiful things to do. But all of those beautiful tourist attractions are 38 minutes or better from the hotel. Now let's get down to the nitty-gritty. There was someone else's hair in the shower! Gross Right! Aside from that it was a cute room and the beds were clean and the property was well maintained. You can check in at any time and they offer free 24-hour airport shuttle. Remember to reserve the shuttle in advance. The wait for the shuttle to arrive at the airport was pretty standard about 20 minutes. Uber showed up quickly. So I would recommend that you keep looking for a hotel to give you the value of the Dylan but closer to the city. And if you can't get a room for less just remember that whatever you don't spend on the room you're going to spend on Uber's and taxis if you don't mind public transportation. A round trip from the Dylan to the city is about $10.50 per person. So safe travels and those are my two cents. One more thing before I wrap up this review I almost forgot. They offer free breakfast but... One day of that may be okay but it's inconsistent. They have a really cute set up don't get me wrong first day we went it was amazing second day we went the waffles were separating they didn't have half of what they had the day before and you understand. My god...I did not leave anything in the room, but why the theft left the door opened, Thanks to the theft! You let me know it's not safe here. The hotel's attitude was unprofessional and rude, and they made the decision that I did not locked the door, omg... my friend asked me why checked several times with the door, you know...it's like a routine when locking my own house. I asked the rep to watch the video recording and the rep told me there's no cameras on that floor, so no camera on that floor and nothing was stolen and charged my fee ended the investigation without informing the customer. The first time I encountered such a ridiculous experience. Please save your money and keep you safe! Don't stay here! read more

Wonderful airport hotel we regularly use for Park n Fly. Staff is excellent with an extra shout out to Maritza who is ever helpful. After driving from our home to sleep here and catch an early am flight, we always enjoy their great happy hour and eating in Millbrae or Burlingame.Good beds and love we aren't constrained to shuttles but get to use BART, Uber or a taxi to and from the airport. After trying maybe 10 +/- airport hotels over the years this is our favorite. read more

AA put me up in this motel after cancelling my flight with none others available. The other option was a Super 8. This is difficult to rate and part of the challenge of Yelp. First things first: it is a motel not a hotel. Park in front of your room, access your first, second or third floor room by outdoor walkway. Wall unit AC. It was probably a Quality Inn or similar in a previous life. Now it is indeed "updated" to the extent you can update an old motel. So while the layout is just like the motel in the movie Sideways, there are no wood panel walls and the accessories are boutiqueish and nicely done. But the rooms are dark, dank, and a bit cramped even by small footprint city hotel standards. So it is an old renovated motel but Yelp categories it as a 2 dollar sign ($$) hotel which doesn't seem fair. Yelp also categorizes Courtyard by Marriotts as $$ for example. Well, the Dylan is nowhere near as "nice" as a Courtyard (which is not to say that all or even most Courtyards are nice, but that's what we're asked by Yelp to compare this motel to in ranking it). It is convenient to the airport and walking distance to about 16 Asian restaurants. Room is clean to the extent a many-year-old motel can be. There is a stale quality to the air (I won't go so far as to say musty) that I'm sure will always be impossible for the owners to completely remove without tearing out all the interior walls and starting from scratch. The lobby area is actually stinky (fishy??). The rooms don't stink but are just kind of stale. It's not horrible. I had no issues. The staff was polite. But being forced to compare it to other hotels that Yelp categorizes as $$, I can't see giving it more than 2 stars. Sorry Dylan, you were nice to me. As a 1 dollar sign ($) Yelp categorized motel/hotel, I'm sure you would probably be at least a 4-star. read more

Not quite sure if I can call this place a "hotel," but instead more of a boutique "motel." Outside entry and ac under the window sill lead me to believe this building is very old, however newly renovated. The owners did a great job flipping this place. The lobby is chic and comfy. There are a few lounge spots that are very inviting as well. I really dig the theme they went with for the renovation - very modern, chic, and bright! Check in was a breeze and we had no problem finding parking for our rental. I essentially chose The Dylan due to its close proximity to the airport as we had an early flight the next morning. A hot breakfast is a bonus and the value seems to be there for the most part. I would not stay for a long time on a trip, but this definitely does the trick for a one nighter. The only main thing we missed was a mini fridge. Other than that, no complaints here. Unable to bring myself to rate a 5 star because I haven't experienced a "wow" factor here yet. read more

The owner and staff are very gracious and helpful. Room is a deluxe suite and very clean. The bathroom shower and fixtures are very good quality unlike comparable hotels. The bed is very comfortable. One of the boutique touches was the retro 60's style portable phonograph and four LP's: Box Scaggs, The Imperials, Chuck Magione, and Three Dog Night. The photos on their web site are accurate and the photos of rooms posted by other reviews are accurate representations, unlike other hotels that take a photo of a model room that is nothing like the one you stay in. They have a self serve wine system with quality wines for a nominal price that is activated to dispense by your room card and a coffee machine that is free, both available in the lobby 24/7. Since hotels cannot serve food, they have discount of 15% with the Cafe Roma, across the street. Very quaint common courtyard for relaxing to read a book, or socialize, nice wall mural with fountain makes for a nice ambiance. The pricing was great for the quality. Note that this hotel is but a 3 minute walk to the Millbrae transit station for BART and the train. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Overall, I am very satisfied with my stay. read more

She worked the graveyard shift and was beyond helpful to me when I explained I left my phone in the city while I was there on business.
