    Scorpion Bowl - (AKA ) - Attitude Adjuster : )

Normally do not write reviews, but wanted to review and comment on The Dynasty. Recently moved to the Lakes Region from South NH, and while driving around the Lakes Region to some Coastal areas to get more acquainted, stumbled across,... The Dynasty. Since a female companion and I are fond of Polynesian / Chines Buffets, we decided to give the place a try one late afternoon, and were very pleased, and more so as stops there continued. This is a nice Local Spot, away from the Touristy type places, and is Comfortable and Cozy. I have now made this place a regular stop, three to four times a month. Have frequented various Chinese / Polynesian Buffet Restaurants throughout NH over the years and found the Dynasty buffet selections to be varied, tasty, good quality, reasonably priced, and the owners and staff very attentive, pleasant and friendly. Although there is also a menu to order from if one is not of mind for a buffet, we have always opted for the buffet, and never disappointed with the selection or the quality for the price. For those that indulge in what I like to refer to as " Attitude Adjusters ", there is also a full liquor license, but my favorite ( even if I stop-in alone ) is the Scorpion Bowl for... Two !!  : ), This is a Great Local Spot that I would recommend, and have often. And No, I am not affiliated with the Dynasty what-so-ever, but after now going there many, many times over the past year, felt compelled to write a review and make a few comments. Long Live The Dynasty !! -- Me: AtlanticRL@Aol.com

Happy Chinese New Year! I really wanted to find a buffet to celebrate this holiday. I was in Rochester, NH and did a Yelp search and, even after reading the reviews, decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Located in a small strip mall type building, I parked right out front. As I entered I was greeted by a gentleman who seated me immediately and promised to bring me ice water and hot tea and invited me to partake in the buffet. I read a few of the reviews complaing about dried out and cold food but, I didn't experience anything like that. They opened at 11:30 and I showed up just before noon which may have something to with that. I found everything to be hot and tasty and I was able to try about half of the offerings. The staff was attentive and pleasant. Quite a nice experience.

Before Covid the dinner buffet was $9.95

We used to have the dinner buffet at the Dynasty on a regular basis before Covid. Food was excellent, buffet selection was very good and price was reasonable. Not sure what happened. But after Covid, the prices went through the roof and the quality of food on the buffet went way downhill. I understand that prices have risen, but the other Chinese restaurants in the area have not pushed their prices up anywhere near the extent this place has. The dinner buffet has gone from $9.95 to $19.99 - that's more than a 100% increase. With the higher prices, there are fewer buffet customers, which mean the food sits in the trays and get stale and cold. What was once a favorite has now become an eatery to avoid.

Took for ever just to even get water because her time is to locals!

The food was as bad as the reviews said it was. Nice layout but we went to enjoy a nice buffet and wasted money

Ordered shrimp fried rice without onions. Received with onions. Way to ruin an expensive meal when you hate onions.

This was our first visit on a Saturday evening and we were glad we made reservations as it was packed yet still maintained a great atmosphere. Our male server Burak was very attentive, professional, and very friendly. We ordered the Lavash with the mixed appetizer - tabouli, Mediterranean salsa, hummus, and Haydari. Chicken and Beef Kabobs as our entrees. Their signature cocktail Istanbul Peach Martini and a glass of Autorotas Sauvignon Blanc. As always the Lavash was amazing as was the Kabobs. The Kabobs came with a scoop of white rice, potatoes and a great salad with no lettuce, just marinated tomatoes. Cucumber, onion with herbs.

I had the mixed app platter with lavash bread, cheese rolls and a cocktail (the name escapes me). The gigantic lavash and spreads were definitely the star of the show here! The bread is a perfect blend of soft and chewy with perfectly toasted bits, and the spreads were mouth watering. The haydari was our favorite, but they were all very good. We really enjoyed sitting on the outdoor patio- the cool artifacts from the old train station are a great touch. The waitress was easy to chat with and knowledgeable... I'm not certain if this is a family-run business but that was the general vibe- warm and friendly with an obvious desire to share good eats. We don't have many Mediterranean places in the area, and Anatolia really fills that void nicely. I immediately came back the next day to buy a gift card for my dad for Father's Day. I think he will really enjoy it here too!

So i thought at first well this is ok if its busy it must be a ok place. Then i noticed they dont sell any booze. No license it seems. ok new owners so they must not be approved yet. no biggie. I bought my wife a cue stick for league match when we join in a few weeks. It was a decent used condition. Figured i would get it at 60 percent of retail. Sadly my cell phone was dead and i didnt have a way to check the retail. I was not familair with the cue. seems i paid over retail for a used cue. Not happy about that. but it is what it is. BUT iif there was one complaint and why i will never return. This room was probably 20k square feet. and they had 1 single wall unit ac and it wasn't doing crap. it was 90 degrees outside. and 95 inside. I was covered in sweat after a single game. we waited for a table to open about 15 minutes. when the league play started. and i heard people left and right complaining. when i sat and drank a soda it was warm inside. but when we started to shoot the ball. i couldn't even see the ball half the time due to the sweat falling into my eyes. everyone was complaining about the heat. An why it was so packed. it was a league match and they had to be there or loose. They where not happy about the heat. if the owners cant afford ac. I dont see busters being here in 2026

I used to take advantage of the six hour special, which was all-you-can-play pool for $5 from noon to 6 PM on weekdays, except in the summer, when they closed most weekdays in the daytime. I was in training to become a professional pool player and needed the table time to up my game. I started out in their showroom, which doubled as their non-smoking room, since I didn't like smoke. After a few weeks, I just sucked it up and moved to their main room since it was very lonely in the enclosed showroom, since no one ever went there. Plus they had the better Simonis (tournament) cloth on the front tables outside. In my time there, I played on a number of local tours and in Busters' own in-house tournaments, which were weighted. There were weighted 9-ball and 8-ball tournaments, a few of which I won or placed in the money. Frank had just joined in a the "Four Tour" league with pool halls in Portland, Sanford, and Waterville, and I played in that too. The most exciting time was when they hosted the New Hampshire State 8-Ball Championships, and I got to watch some extremely talented players. At the time, there was a small snack bar up front, as well as a small pro shop. One of the employees also did work on cue sticks on his lathe. They always had the TV on up front. I liked it when they had ESPN's 9-ball matches on, usually with Allison Fisher. Most others there didn't want the channel on that though. I am not sure why, since it was a pool hall after all. Frank actually started giving me free lessons after a while, which I appreciated. All in all, I had a good time and learned a lot. No complaints from me. By the way, I see the new owners have put a lot of their games on their Facebook page, including live videos (https://www.facebook.com/pg/BustersBilliards/videos/). Very nice! These are fun to watch.
