Salad with steak tips
Diana L.

The Farm is one of my fiance's favorite spots, so we decided to come here for our anniversary dinner this past Sunday. We were seated quickly around 5:30pm at a high top table near the bar. We started with the fried cheese bites which were good and had a great cheese pull, but were not as great as leftovers. My fiance was super excited for the mac and cheese with pulled pork, and I was ended up with the autumn salad with steak tips. The mac and cheese was absolutely massive and he was satisfied. The salad was nice and loaded, the fried goat cheese was nice and crispy, and the steak tips were cooked perfectly (medium rare) with a slight sweetness to them. Parking is a little cramped since you have to drive down a small driveway to get to the parking area, and be aware you will have to walk up a hill (unless you're dropped off by the door). We love that they offer catering here too! (He actually ordered a few trays for my surprise birthday party last year, which were a big hit).

New England clam chowder

Rustic atmosphere with excellent food. The bbq nachos are huge and easily shared between multiple people. The clam chowder is silky smooth with big chunks of clam and potato. Haddock burger and fries are filling and tasty. Our server, Jon, was super knowledgeable about all of the on tap beers, and made some great recommendations. We will definitely be back!

Average food and service, even on a dead night - nothing great to rave about, not bad not great just adequate. The capri sun is delicious and I bet the view is amazing in the summer with outdoor seating - it was still gorgeous in the winter night!! Very clean and well kept space. Got a burger and it saturated the bun so it was soggy when delivered to the table. Wasn't really a fan of that but it didn't change the decent burger.

Oooh went back to this lovely slightly off center little spot yesterday for a late lunch with a friend and refound a favorite- the fish tacos, baked not fried. Now fish tacos are kind of a thing with me, had them in several different countries and continents, and I do so love them. I've had them here once before, and wasn't that impressed. This time I was. As usual, the farms take on them is a little deconstructed and eccentric, but yummy. A slightly sour sauce and pickled onions makes them a wonderful taste experience. The fish was flaky and lightly but well seasoned, with a touch of cabbage slaw to brighten it all up. Maybe not as good as some I've had on the streets of Loreto, but pretty dang good for NH. Our server was professional , kind , and attentive. Also patient, as my friend and I spent more time catching up than eating. Well done; I look forward to trying more from their interesting menu.

Really enjoyed this place on a very cold Saturday afternoon. We came in around 2;30, seated right away, and immediately noticed how clean it is! The menu is huge, and I saw a bunch of different dishes from all across the menu come out to people's tables, so I got the sense the whole breadth of the menu was safe. I was right! We got BBQ Nachos, YUM, a grilled California chicken wrap (bacon and avocado) and fajitas. I'll definitely be back. Oh, the fries were super crispy just like I love them. Big portions, great value. Gem.

Incredible food, service and would highly recommend! It was completely worth driving out of the way…read moreto go to. Haven't had food this good since our trip to Barcelona.

I always feel so much better after visiting Stalk-it's a light in the darkness, when things feel so…read moredark that you feel swallowed up by it. A cook, myself, I've been held prisoner in jobs that make one feel discouraged due to indifference and laxity. Eating here, taking in the pride of craft and respect for the clientele makes me realise that places -and people-do exist that truly care about about the customer and strive to make them forget their lives outside the comforting walls of this restaurant. We shared a couple of apps: a crispy-skin chicken leg, indeed crispy and as usual, perfectly cooked, as usual. there are few greater pleasures in life like chicken that is juicy and cooked with an expert hand. It came with excellent ricotta mashed potatoes so good my daughter-who normally refuses to eat mashed potato-had to be fended off with my fork so Dad could swipe a couple forkfuls! The dark, flavorful sauce complimented both the meat and the potatoes. We also got the charred Halloumi cheese with pork belly with sweet and sour grapes and a whiff of finely chopped sage, again having to fend off my daughter for my portion...I was detecting a trend here... For the main courses, my wife got the Black Cod with nicely browned fingerling potatoes and braised cabbage/asparagus. She rarely ate unbreaded fish until Stalk introduced her to exquisitely cooked and seasoned fish filets. My daughter got the mushroom and eggplant kofta with a superb cashew hummus and grilled pita that was cooked with love-grilled enough to get grill marks, but not so long as to cook the life out it-they were still soft and fluffy, with just enough crisp to make scooping the hummus practicable. I got, against my usual practice of eating through the menu (as much as possible during a recipe cycle) to get the Sweet Potato Cavatelli-this is one of those dishes that I could never get often enough. the pasta dishes here are unfailingly excellent, with little culinary surprises in every one-this one, for me, in a dish with sausage AND pork belly no less, the unifying surprise is the Balsamic black butter! It just made every bite taste,,,right, perfectly complimenting the dish and making a delightfully whole flavour profile that one would not, perhaps, expect at a first blush. Taken with the Almond Romesco, it gave a slightly sweet, acidic depth that woke and gratified my palate. Again, as a cook, I appreciate the care and consideration on display that a dish such as this displays. It makes me happy... Our desserts, sadly a harbinger of the meals' approaching end, left us with a nice parting glow-the Coconut Rice pudding-with a mango compote, ginger candied cashews and flashy cherry crisps was nice, light finisher, as was the, wait for it, English pea Mojito ice cream. This follows the Mad Scientist-esque genius of Stalk's ice creams. The unbridled exuberance on display with the ice cream flavours, always makes me lean towards the ice creams over many other fine and tempting desserts...this was no exception. The peas provided a subtle pea flavor, the chill mellowing the flavor we typically associate with peas, but not losing it, is worth a victory lap on its own. The zest of lime and a nicely chiffonaded mint layered on the finishing touches without overtaking the finish, a sign of the practiced hands at work. I also must make mention of the French Press coffee service, there is truly no better way to take your coffee than via a French Press, it is so very nice to indulge in this simple life pleasure outside of my own kitchen... I would be terribly remiss if I didn't give a shout out to the staff-from the exceedingly professional and courteous staff, to the bartender who was very engaging and free with her smiles all night, the professionals preparing our dinner, who deserve much credit for turning Chefs' vision into delicious and intruiging plates of food for all of us to enjoy, and finally to Chef Nicole, who is everywhere making sure everything is running as smooth as possible, yet taking the time to chat with the patrons whenever possible. Our trips to Stalk are almost a pilgrimage-a reminder that cooking can be a joy, and that striving for that goal of making the diner perhaps, through the care and excellence of the food and its preparation, make them forget the nonsense outside the walls of the restaurant for even just an hour or so. This a lofty and noble goal, and one, for this diner, is always met. I hope it is for you, as well

This restaurant is 100% worth all of the hype. I've eaten at several Michelin star restaurants from…read more1 to 3 stars and honestly Stages deserves to be in the top tier category with some of the best meals I've ever had. The tasting counter experience is a favorite of mine to begin with and the flavors and execution were immaculate. My wife took me for my birthday last year and the only thing I can possibly ask is what took me so long to come here? If you enjoy fine dining and are anywhere in the New England area, it is absolutely worth a visit. You will not be disappointed.

We had a really unique dining experience at Stages! You enter the restaurant into a homey living…read moreroom style room and you start your drinks and meal in there. They even have cards and blankets. The drinks were excellent and I really appreciated that they offered each drink as regular, low ABV, or no ABV. The first "stage" was a plate of small apps that were outstanding. This stage was probably our favorite part of the entire dinner! For the next stage we were transported into a six seat counter in front of the kitchen where they cook right in front of you. It was really cool to see what they were doing in the kitchen. They even had whiteboards up with their thoughts for future dishes, and that was really cool to see. Each dish was very unique and mainly featured vegetables. There was one tuna course and one course featuring a very small piece of meat (which was actually really tough). There were also two "cookie" courses. Some of the courses were amazing including the sorbet which came with some amazing unique sauces and toppings, and the squash course. Overall, we really had a good time at stages. We really loved the first stage and some of the dishes, but felt overall it was a little overpriced (175 per person prior to drinks tip or tax) for the type of ingredients (vegetables, cookies etc.) and success of the dishes. They do accommodate some allergies (for example no raw fish) but do not for dairy, which makes sense because most of the dishes had creamy based sauces.

We were not having any luck finding any of our regular places open today. While driving through Dover, we passed The Nook and realized that we walk by it many times at night and this was the first time during the day we were in the area, and with the sign All day breakfast and Burgers, we found the place. Just on the corner, you can people-watch during your meal. The space is currently decorated for the holidays (yes, it is January), but we loved it. The menu is fantastic with a variety of breakfast and lunch options. If you cannot find something to order, there is something wrong with you. They also offer a full bar, so Mamosa are a perfect brunch option. The staff is friendly and made our visit. Of course, you walk in to a large display case of muffins, cinnamon rolls and other bakery treats. But today, I wanted pancakes! Eggs, baked beans and pancakes! The beans were incredible. Loved them and only hope they were homemade, but if they were canned, they were pretty yummy. My spouse had a burger with fries, and the fries were perfect. Crunchy on the outside and not mushy on the inside! What a find! Sorry it took so long, but we will be back again soon. There is street and paid lot parking nearby. You can use Flowbird app to pay and track your parking in Dover. See you soon.
