Honestly, I would have loved to stay longer to sample some of the local beers. They have many craft beers on tap. I just couldn't pass up the Booty Juice cocktail. It's strong & unique. I think he said it was a local huckleberry vodka, but I could be wrong. The best part was the Duck Fart shot. Don't go by the recipe because he actually makes it a little different. I won't spoil it for you. Not all Duck Farts are created equal. Haha! My husband won a t-shirt with the pub logo. Yes, our group played a trivia game. The owner admittedly has no filter. We decided to get a round of duck farts, which contains Kahlua, Baileys, and whiskey. The shots were perfect and they know how to make them. This is a great dive bar decorated with wood carved bears locally known as Happy Bears. They have some branded products for sale and I regret not purchasing at least one item. The bar vibes are relaxed, friendly, and welcoming. They have a waterfront patio and a perfect hang out spot to enjoy the views of the water. This bar does get busy with the influx of cruise ship passengers. I do recommend stopping by just to experience the drinks and wonderful energy.

I also saw what looked like an antique painting of gamblers in the Gold Rush period, as well as some old historical memorabilia. It was like walking into a different time period with all the décor and wood paneling. We had a choice of a beer or a cocktail. We chose the Sourdough Mule. Apparently, tequila and ginger pair well together. It was good, but I liked the Bear Skat shot the best. Who knew that Blueberry Vodka would make such a big difference in the flavor? Had amazing chats with bartender and locals. One was a diver and shared scary stories. As a retired merchant mariner (capt ) I knew all the places mentioned and we all shared sea stories. I felt like I was "home" with my peers. Great service, real conversations, real Alaska all the way. Love this place.

So, we went in asked the bartender who was awesome to explain it as she made it and it was a tasty little concoction of crown, Jameson, and Kahlua. I thought it to be so good, that I ordered one for Liz. I also tried their imperial stout which was pretty good too. The bar looked roomie, it was empty during midday though, but it appeared to have potential for live music and lively gatherings come sundown. If you have time and are thirsty, check it out.

It looks as if they have perhaps 3 small stills that you can see from an observation window and open doorway to the distillery proper. They have a variety of spirits: Whiskey, gin and vodka. Their whisky is a sourgum whisky... so not sure they have intentions to move towards a proper bourbon. Whisky old fashion was different. It's a booze style old fashioned without any sort of mixer... but it was good. Truth be told I'm a little envious that I don't have a distillery in any former Fire Station.
