This review is for the restaurant. We stayed with friends in Ketchikan for a few days, and had a lunch and two breakfasts here. Even though there aren't a lot of choices in Ketchikan, we didn't mind eating here a few times. This is a typical diner but the food is great and the service is very attentive. The prices are very good for Ketchikan. My favorite was probably the cinnamon roll french toast, which was kind of different. This place is definitely popular with locals because it is not quite downtown. It is very convenient to the ferry to the airport. Parking is available both in the garage and in the lot across the street. The Landing Restaurant is a great choice for eating in Ketchikan. read more

Good burger and the service was friendly. Our food arrived quickly and our server kept our water cups full.

If you'd like the tiniest burger in town this right here is the place to go. The cheese slice was larger than the actual burger. I believe they should look into some quality control service from their managers. This happens far too often on most of their burgers and sandwiches. We keep trying to give them a chance to redeem the experience or food. I think we will just not return or order out here anymore. You'd be better off going to McDonald's or Annabelle's. read more

The Landing Restaurant is located at the front entrance to the namesake hotel and easy peasy access for breakfast or to not have to leave the hotel for dinings. Other than the day the ferry came in, service was quick and easy. When you're a hotel guest, you get a $10 off coupon for breakfast the next day, which was much appreciated! Full dining room and service, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. We took full advantage of the breakfast coupon every morning and went in one evening for a snack. It was a nice dining experience across the board. Service was good, by day two they recognized us and knew our morning beverage order. Quick to bring meals and super attentive with refills and needs. Clean diner and not overly noisy during a normal day... ferry day is a whole different story though! If you want breakfast, get there at opening if you can, to give yourself plenty of time. The Landing Restaurant and Hotel are top notch and the owners are great and kind people. They serve free breakfasts to different categories each year like veterans, senior citizens, law enforcement/fire departments. They have had longstanding waitresses so they know all of the clientele and are very nice. We arrived in Ketchikan yesterday, and are going to be here for a few days at least. I always like to try to get a feel for the local that will be working in, and what better way to start than with breakfast at the restaurant that is attached to the Landing Hotel (see separate review)? The place is clean, everyone that is masked and there is plenty of hand sanitizer available, so I instantly felt at home. I sat at the counter, since I was by myself, and was immediately waited upon. I decided (since I had a $10 off coupon from the hotel), that I would get the French toast...and then the cinnamon roll French toast grabbed my attention, so I ordered that instead. It was a good decision. Large, well battered pieces of bread soaked in a cinnamon/egg batter and brushed with icing; enough that I didn't need any side dish. Served with a small orange juice and a large glass of water, my pre-coupon bill was under $15. Well worth it. So, do yourself a favor. First, come to Alaska. Second, visit Ketchikan during your trip. Thirdly, stay at the Landing Hotel and eat at The Landing restaurant. It will be epic! read more

My wife's reservation, made back in April, was abruptly cancelled without any prior notification or explanation. When she arrived to check in on August 8th, despite having all confirmation emails, she was informed that Britany had cancelled the reservation the night before at 11 PM. This occurred with no communication whatsoever--no email, no call, nothing. After years of loyalty and frequent visits to Ketchikan for medical reasons, this treatment is completely unacceptable. We will not be spending another dime with this new management. read more

The restaurant and staff were great. I have stayed at the hotel for the past 4 years. They always had a shuttle to take you wherever you wanted to go. This year when I called for the shuttle from exiting the airport it took an hour to arrive after I called back 3 times. Then the lady in the office said that the shuttle will not take you to Walmart thus costing us a $30 round trip taxi fare. When I questioned the man who checked us in he said it was unacceptable to have waited an hour for the shuttle, which I agree. I will probably pick another hotel next year. I am only spending the night in Ketchikan and this cute little diner was attached to my hotel. It is a simple menu with burgers and salads for the more timid and quite a bit of fish and seafood options for those looking for local flavor. My server, Columbia was awesome and on point. My tea never ran out, my soup was steaming, and I didn't have to ask for anything extra - she just brought things, knowing they went with the meal. She was friendly and efficient. We stayed at the Landings Hotel and ate at the Landings restaurant twice for dinner. The hotel room was very nice, and we appreciated the amenities - a Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave and even bathrobes. It was clean and comfortable. The restaurant is a good value for the touristy town - not nearly as busy or expensive as the downtown area. It is located across from the Ferry Terminal. We enjoyed our two dinners there. The restaurant has a good selection of entrees, the portions were generous, and the service was quick and friendly. There is a full bar, but not a great selection of beer and wines. There are a few outdoor tables on the second-floor balcony. The hotel restaurant was very busy during breakfast and lunch, but we didn't have those meals at the hotel. read more

For excellent diner food and good downhome cooking, look no further than The Landing. Hubby and I were wanting a good place for breakfast, but weren't finding too many highly rated restaurants on Yelp. We passed The Landing, which is a hotel and attached diner very reminiscent of a Best Western or Holiday Inn. Sounds not that great, but believe me IT WAS. Hubby and I had the biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns and the chicken fried steak and eggs. EXCELLENT, and everything you'd expect from your favorite comfort food. The gravy was delicious with a little sprinkle of paprika. Hashbrowns = golden goodness! And the mochas were made with an actual espresso machine and were the best ones we'd tried on our whole trip. This was truly a pleasant surprise. A lot of times, I go for kitschy places that have something unique about them - either location, name, theme, etc - and a lot of time the food doesn't add up. So because this normal looking restaurant ended up being one of the better places we tried, we were completely floored and left very happy. Our server, Merita, was a sweetheart and a true gem. I guess from the outside I was a bit taken back when I walked into the restaurant and it reminded me of like a Denny's or IHOP which isn't bad, just not what I was expecting; maybe I was expecting more of a privacy between booths feel; I don't know. We were told that their other restaurant, Jeramiah's Pub, was upstairs with a different dining atmosphere so maybe we should've gone up there. Same menus with a few other items. Anyway, the waitress was pleasant and inviting. I ordered a burger and fries and asked that they double dip my fries in the grease as I saw others with fries that appeared to be "limp" and I like my fries crispy; that did not happen. The fries were just like the others; a bit limp and actually room temperature. Also asked for mayo and had to ask again when my food got to the table. I did notice that their were empty booths that had ample amounts of food on their plates which made me wonder if I really wanted to eat there. NOTE: I did go back for breakfast since we didn't have many breakfast choices. I will admit that breakfast was on point. But I rated this review based on my requests not being fulfilled from my initial visit. read more

After being on a ferry for several days, this was a nice place to stop. Our server knew the menu very well. I wanted iced coffee but they didn't have cold coffee. The waitress managed to cook me up with some delicious iced coffee. I definitely recommend stopping by! read more

Food was alright but pricey, not all the burger toppings are listed on the menu (got a burger with mayo and pickles, neither of which are listed and I can't eat). There really is no competition for this type of restaurant in Ketchikan. It's a breakfast and lunch restaurant with good food and a good selection, comfortable, nice people, and is recommended. The only down side is that the service is not good. The first day we had Lia, who eventually came, took our order, brought it, and then did a disappearing act. The next day we had Kathy who is mostly attentive, but also failed to come back until we got another server and asked her to send her back. Do not misunderstand. These are nice people, but while Kathy appeared busy, Lia was plain unmotivated, and I say this in the hope she'll take notice. The Landing is in a perfect location, which we found out when the ferry stopped in Ketchikan one morning during our trip back north. Only about a 1/4 mile from the ferry dock this was an excellent place for us to grab a decent breakfast and relax before heading back to the confined quarters in the ferry. I really wish I could remember my waitress's name (she was from Albania, if anyone from the restaurant sees this review) - but she was very good; incredible friendly, responsive and seemed to enjoy her job. Our experience was improved because of her. For food I got the chicken fried steak, eggs and bacon for breakfast and it was delicious. Not sure if that's just a matter of contrast to the food I'd been eating on the ferry, or because it actually was very good! I would like to start this review with my rating 3.5 stars The landing, you walk on and instantly see that it's a diner. Open at 6 in the morning for the early birds they have a large variety of breakfast and lunch foods. Starting with service, it was fairly fast and the servers are great people getting it's first star. For the most part it's very clean, but could be better giving it a .5 star (mainly I say this because there was a hair in the eggs Benedict). The quality of the food was good aside from the potato sides with your meals being very greasy getting a .5 star. One of this diners very good qualities is it's consistency to have good and fast service, along with knowing what you'll get when you order it earning 1 star. Overall I beleive its somewhat expencive and the portion sizes are huge therefore I'd give this diner a .5 star but since I can't give it three and a half stars I round it to 4. Do not go here unless you only order toast and pancakes because everything else was very strange and undercooked. Sausage links were just warm with a strange plastic like casing on two of them that I could barely cut through and got stuck in my teeth. Hashbrowns were undercooked and soggy with grease. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito which was just refried beans and scrambled eggs inside of a tortilla with a big clump of half melted cheese at the end. The Bloody mary was okay but the server came over once I took a sip of my husbands bloody mary and asked to check my ID. Just thought it was a bit strange. I was grateful for the extra hot water the server gave me for my tea because it ended up being the best part of my meal. read more

Fantastic location, great food and wonderful waitress! We stopped in to the Landing on Sunday morning during our recent trip to Ketchikan and I'm so glad we that we did. They had a vast menu and served breakfast all day. Everything appeared to be reasonably priced and sounded delicious. The food was fantastic. Everything was cooked to perfection. The waitress (who has been in the same establishment for 27 years) was sweet, friendly, helpful and a true asset to the restaurant. You could easily see that she is loved by the regulars that were there during our visit. She kindly reminded a sweet, older woman of her usual order when it appeared that the patron had forgotten what she wanted to order. It was just a lovely gesture by a very kind soul. Mostly because her voice was loving and so patient. The patron seemed truly appreciative of the caring assistance. We will definitely go back to the Landing in the future! Great view, friendly and fast service! The halibut blt with sweet potato fries is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Halibut and bun are super fresh. Everytime I'm in town I can't leave without having one! Doesn't look like the 'best' restaurant and it's in a hotel but don't be turned off by that...it's amazing! read more

The food is fairly good but the female employee who sat at the counter through our entire meal and talked incessantly was very irritating. She truly did not stop talking the entire time we ate our meal. There appears to be a huge lack of supervision.
