I initially reached out to speak with the manager/owner regarding an issue my mother experienced while scheduling an appointment. I was told by Nicole that the owner, Sheryl was finishing with a client and would call me back around 3:00 PM. That call never came. I followed up at 4:00 PM and was then told the owner had already left for the day but would call me once she got home. Again, no call was received. The original concern was regarding my mother's appointment. As a Mother's Day gift, I purchased her a Groupon for highlights so she could treat herself and enjoy the experience. She successfully booked an appointment for next Saturday at 11:00 AM and later received a call at 5:53 PM that same day asking whether she would be paying full price or using Groupon. Once she confirmed it was a Groupon appointment, the tone of the conversation noticeably changed and she was told she would now need to wait an additional 2-3 weeks because that stylist "doesn't take Groupons." We were then told this policy is outlined in Groupon fine print and that Groupon appointments must be scheduled weeks out. However, I reviewed the Groupon details thoroughly and could not find any language stating that only certain stylists accept Groupon appointments or that there is a required waiting period. My concern isn't simply availability, it's the inconsistency and lack of transparency. If restrictions exist for Groupon customers, they should be clearly disclosed before appointments are booked, not after confirmation. It was disappointing that something purchased as a Mother's Day gift ended up becoming stressful and left us feeling like the appointment became an issue only once the payment method was disclosed. I was hoping to resolve this directly before leaving a review, but after multiple promises of a callback that never happened, I felt it was important to share our experience.

Well, she applies the color and puts my under heat lamps for what had to be 35 to 40 minutes, this was obviously too long of process time for my fine, thin hair. She was preoccupied working on another client while my hair was frying...you would think they have a shampoo girl/assistant to wash the color out when needed NOT have a client wait with chemicals on their hair. Finally, she washed, cut and blew out my hair. First, I see the color is actually darker than my natural blonde color, but I let that go even though it was the complete opposite of what I was asking for. I also notice a lot of fly away hairs on top of my head, but she slaps on some serum and smoothes them down. So, the next day after I wash my hair and dry it I really notice a ton of broken hairs along the entire crown of my hair down through the shafts too. I have never had such DAMAGE caused to my hair before and to think this is a professional in the haircare industry is really frightening. Needless to say I will never give this salon another chance and I strongly suggest you stay away.

I made my appointment for a full head of highlights weeks in advanced. Val suggested I highlight my crown since the hair at the nape of neck had some breakage. I was ok with that but, she still could have given me at least a half a head of highlights. The breakage was minimal, at the base of my neck and unnoticeable. I told Val I loved her Instagram and wanted exactly that - icy white highlights. The colorist I previously went to made my hair orange and I said I am looking to avoid that. She nodded as if she understood what I was saying. I asked for a blow out when we are done but, Val said she didn't have time and was running behind. I don't know how that is possible since she just cut my appointment in half by only highlighting my crown and not my whole head. Throughout the appointment Val seemed preoccupied and was on her cell phone most of the time. She seemed like she was rushing not because she was behind but because she wanted to get out of there like she had somewhere else she needed to be. I left the salon with a wet head and paid $275 for my highlights in my crown area. When I got home, I blew out my hair and noticed I had brassy orange spots throughout. I messaged Val on Instagram letting her know and she became pretty defensive and unhelpful. She was arguing with me that the orange I was seeing is from the previous colorist, she said I could come in and she would put more highlights in. She said she would get back to me with a time and day .. obviously that never happened. She just didn't seem to care at all and the NEW highlights were done incorrectly. Below is a photo of the freshly done color by Val and my old color done 4 months prior. I also posted a photo of my hair after 2 washes - the toner/gloss is clearly not there anymore and the brass/orange is even more pronounced. Like I said this was my first time there and my last. I initially wanted to try a blowout with curls, but let her know I usually opt for straight hair, so I may or may not like the curls despite my request to try something different. That was so unexpected because at other salons I would have multiple people doing my hair due to double or triple booking and only have the main stylist check in every now and then. Lisa was patient and knew exactly what I wanted from my brief description. She did the cut in steps so I wouldn't be too shell shocked by the end result and asked for my feedback about layering. Most people who hear the words "I haven't gotten a haircut in a while" immediately want to push a full chop onto their client, but Lisa evaluated my hair and suggested we keep the length and even out the ends/cut off all the dead hair. It was better than I ever expected. The organic products leave your hair so soft and smooth. There's no chemical smell for the coloring, it's nice and gentle. I have been a loyal customer for a year until this week when I met David for the first time. I was late for 10 minutes with a pre-notice so I said "okay" to every compromise I had to make, when the front desk (who was rude too) told me that I would have to accommodate a junior stylist and will not get a blowout. As a single working mother of a toddler kid, I did not mind at all, because it was the only 30 minutes I could squeeze out to get my haircut that I have longed for 6 months. Then came with David who kept brushing my hair with a thin comb so hard and so close to my ears as if he was going to cut my ears off. I walked out of the place charged with $90 with wet hair, because he dried my hair for 2 minutes but no junior stylist ever showed up to take over to further dry up my hair (I was not expecting a blow out at all, since I agreed to the arrangement, but at least walk out with dry hair lol!). My friend who picked me up was a witness for how red my ears were, because David kept brushing my hair and scalp so hard that I almost cried. I also heard from other patrons that they were offered tea/coffee whenever they went, but I was only offered the first time. The last time when I finished my haircut and waited in the waiting area for 20 minutes for uber, I recalled that the front desk lady was gossiping with a customer loudly to complain about another customer for the entire time (totally unprofessional) so do not share any personal details with anyone working there!
