Of all the activities we have done with the local rec center my kiddos are loving the ice skating classes! They're fun and keep my kids going and my kiddos are asking to repeatedly return daily. I also like the quality of their skate rentals that come with a class sign up! They are comfortable and my kids enjoy wearing them and after just few classes are getting the hang of things. This is my favorite ice arena in all of Denver/Littleton and the bar was super pleasant surprise and the viewing area and hallways are so warm I actually didn't wear a coat or anything! My son said the ice quality was great for his hockey game and I cannot wait to have another game here! read more

This is an ice skating arena (3 ice rinks) that provides skate rentals and food. If your kids are old enough you can drop them off and come back. I chose to stay and watch them skate with my husband. There's a viewing area above the public skate rink. It's comfortable with a great view. They do birthday parties here and have lessons for skating and hockey. We will come again! read more

My husband and I are from Louisiana and trying to keep skating alive! We bring our own ice skates made in the USA. For the past 10+ years we have made it our goal to skate in each state. Also, I enjoy a shiny smooth hard ice floor to dance on. On any night you want to ice skate in the USA. I advise you to check out their online site. Well this was a dud! We came here today with our seven kids ages 11 and under for our daughters birthday and before we got there we called to make sure they had the little helpers for young kids and they said they did. Well to our surprise after paying and getting down there they only had TWO and one was already being used! Our kids ages 5, 4, 3, 8, and 11 ended up sitting out because they couldn't skate. What an absolute waste of money. We went to Ice Ranch days prior and our kids loved it so much we decided to try ice skating again but were highly disappointed! I do not recommend this place. The one helper we did have was metal and didn't glide on the ice. I ended up having to help the kiddos by picking up the front half because it kept getting stuck in the ice. read more

We have skated here countless times over the past 15 years, and it is not a great place any more due to poor management. Watch out for the front desk staff members--some are nice, but some are aggressively confrontational and rude, and the administration will not take any action. Don't let your kids go in there unsupervised because they may get yelled at. Try Big Bear as a friendlier alternative. read more

Great and friendly staff. Always helpful. The Penalty Box when it is open, thanks Covid, has excellent food. Kids love the ice. However, I do have to deduct one star for a rink hanging the American flag wrong. Look at the US Flag codes and you will see that the Blue field and Stars go to the left of the viewer. Not a big issue to many but being a government run building the US flag should be hung properly. I was not impressed. They close the consessions down way to early for the later games. Then when I went to get corn dogs, I went through 6! And they were all still frozen. You cook them longer than 3 minutes. It takes 7 minutes to deep fry a corn dog. Not bad. I watched my husband play in the Hockey Gobbler Classic tournament here and the rink was really nice. It has 2 sheets, concession, pro shop, massage therapy, small workout facility, ozone gear cleaning machine, vending machines, women's leagues, etc.... I really like having a rink so close to home! This is a pretty nice facility and the prices are reasonable (it's cheaper to buy a pass if you plan to come here often), even if you don't live in the district. I'm a figure skater, but I've heard from several of my hockey-playing friends that drop-in sessions and stick-and-puck are high quality at this rink. There are two ice surfaces and the quality is pretty good (depending on who's driving the Zamboni that day). Group and private lessons are available, though it's been a few years since I took lessons and I don't know what the coaching staff is like now. My only problem with this rink is that it only has one public session per day (usually from 12 to 2) and offers far fewer figure skating practice sessions (freestyle/moves in the field/dance) than other rinks in the area. I guess they're just more focused on hockey. They do also have off-ice classes for figure skaters, but again, those offerings are less extensive than what you'll find at a place like South Suburban. The pro shop is adequate (again, mostly hockey-focused) -- they can help you out if you forget your gloves. I haven't eaten anything from the snack bar, but the menu is pretty standard snack-bar fare. To sum up: Great for hockey players. Pretty good for recreational figure skaters (though I wish they had an adults-only session, even just once a week). Probably not fantastic for competitive figure skaters, but fine for beginners. read more

And a word of warning.... Do not under ANY circumstances get your skates sharpened at this ice arena's "pro" shop. The people working that equipment at this rink have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Zero. So you're warned. I attended a Drop In hockey game last night and it was awesome. The people were very friendly and welcoming. I just moved from California and have been looking to find a place to play for fun. The guys are a bit out of my league in terms of skill level but were very nice in making sure I felt comfortable. It was awesome. I definitely plan on going back again. read more

My family and I love this ice rink, the ice is nice and well smoothed between skating sessions. The front desk staff need more training with the knowledge of info for classes. The web to sign up for classes was not intuitive, I ended up calling an instructor for help. I do wish the facility was a little nicer and the upper bleachers were warmer when I go and watch my daughter skate(she will be advancing in her skating knowledge at the Edge). Other skaters are nice and helpful with skating tips, myself being a newer skater I'd rather come here than The Ice Ranch whom had rough (larger pits) in the ice..it reminded me of skating on the open lake at Evergreen. Edge rates-are better...Adults are $6 to skate $3 skate rental, kids $5 skate with $3 skate rental. read more

Great ice, but if you are a figure skater and live anywhere near another rink, go there. The management at this rink only cares about the hockey program. Even though us parents pay an enormous amount of money for private lessons and ice time, the hockey program always gets preferential treatment for scheduling of all events. We cannot even get our holiday show scheduled on the rink with the greater amount of seating because the hockey program always receives preference. We had so many people at the rink for the holiday performances, elderly relatives of skaters were forced to stand for the two hour show. Worse, during the evening Freeskate sessions we pay for our kids to practice their competition routines, the hockey team members routinely hit their pucks against the rink wall and plexiglass, making an enormous racket for most of the 45 minutes. They also stand in front of the glass and make fun of the skaters. For some reason, even though there is another rink 20 feet away, they run up and down, do exercises, scream back and forth at each other and other things while the figure skaters practice. We have complained numerous times to the management but the behavior just continues. Most of the time, the coaches are standing right next to them while they do it. Considering the complexity and danger of the moves these kids practice, I'm truly appalled at how these players and coaches mock and distract the skaters. As I said at the beginning, go to another rink for figure skating. The figure skating coaches and everyone else involved with the program are wonderful, but the management and how they allow the hockey players to ruin the figure skaters' program ruins the entire experience. read more

My family was just there for a hockey tournament, what a wonderful experience. The added a bar and restaurant which we had lunch in, food was great people were great. We have been to almost all of the rinks in denver and this is in my opinion one of the nicest, great facility and staff! read more

To Phil and Nancy W (or whoever you really are) You might want to do your homework before you cast stones. The new head coach you are referencing is a gifted and dedicated coach. She has been the coach for kids who are champions at National Showcase. She has coached kids who have medaled in freeskate, dance and artistic competitions from basic levels Senior at State Games of America, Regionals, Junior Nationals and Nationals and you are lucky to have her. Her personal life is none of your business and what she does professionally, she does for the betterment of the skaters and the program. I trust her completely as do all parents from her former rink who have known her for over a decade. Continuous posting of false information that interferes with a business is just not a smart move. If you have true evidence of what your are inferring about "not a safe place for kids" then you have an obligation to give your true and full identity and report it to authorities instead of seeking your 15 minutes of fame in the media. read more
