The food was worse than the service, if such a thing is possible. I got a relatively easy to prepare dish, the Skyway Chicken, two grilled breasts topped with melted cheese and a side of mashed potatoes. The chicken was tough and dry, typical of frozen meat tossed on a grill too long, the cheese was chewy and greasy, and the mashed potatoes were cold and tasteless, likely prepared from freezer to microwave as some parts were hot and others ice cold. The server hardly ever stopped by as she seemed to be doing double duty as bar tender. Save your money and go elsewhere read more

Went here to celebrate a wedding. It's located in cascade park in a prime location looking down at the center stage. I was very shocked it was a buffet (I hate buffets) and that the items on the menu were so rich in taste and seemed freshly prepared. It was a Sunday in October and we were there for breakfast (Bacon sausage eggs grits strawberries blueberries yogurt honey granola and more) but they had a full bar also! Getting a servers attention wasn't difficult and the check out was smooth. The only complaint would be the position of buffet in the middle of the restaurant! I have to believe it would be very difficult to give customers elbow space while eating with the bar and buffet on top of one another.. read more

I called ahead of time to make the arrangements; and spoke with Cynthia. She was nothing short of incredible and kind, and so accommodating. My experience here was absolutely terrible. We went at 12:30pm on a Saturday expecting to eat lunch and they only had brunch/breakfast food. There was no lunch food to be found on the menu. Our service was terrible. We waited 25 mins at our table before being spoken too and once we got our drinks the first time we never got a refill. I was hoping the negative reviews would be wrong, but unfortunately I experienced several of the issues experienced by others. We arrived for a 7pm reservation, we got our seat promptly. We waited almost 15 minutes before someone came over to take our drink order, we ordered a bottle of wine and then confusion ensued, they thought they were out of wine, then a manager shows up with a glass of the wine bottle we ordered, she told me she thought they only had 3 or 4 glasses left, I said that's fine. We ended up with a bottle thsr had been opened the day before, and she let us know they would take some money off. My friend ordered the Yoder fried chicken, this was when things really went down hill, the chicken was not cooked, and completely raw in the middle, thank God for the overly bright lights at the table. Sent that back and waited and waited for an order of the meatloaf to come out. Meatloaf was great, as was the appetizers we had. I will say that my server was very pleasant and super helpful and they ended up comping the bottle of wine and offering a free desert and that's why they desert the 3 stars and earned a second shot from me. The places suffers from communication issues and I would assume this starts with management. The servers work hard and are pleasant and when cooked, the food taste great as well. I really hope they are able to work out these issues and take advantage of their location. Kudos to the servers who deal with the issues here and still manage to make the night decent. For the management, work on better communication skills with the staff, and please make sure your cooks (won't call them chefs) make sure that chicken is not served raw! read more

Horrible service. I waited tables for 5 years so I understand certain situations. But this was failure on hostess, management and bar staff. We waited 15 mins for hostess, manager finally showed up to put our name on list. Other guests besides us were also upset. Many tables open so I assumed they were short staffed, this was not the case. We ended up sitting at the bar b/c the seating situation seemed to be too difficult for staff. Bar staff was rude. so i came here because my cousins go to fsu and we hadn't see them in a long time anyway the atmosphere was wonderful with the lights and all (and the rustic-ness) but it didn't seem very unique. the food was pretty good. i got the lobster guacamole and it was really good but lacked lobster. next to me my had some some chicken something and it was sooo good. at one point two workers walked out together out the door next to me and my sister thought were gay so #pride. my sister also got nachos which were really good. the restaurant is a little pricey tho. overall it was good and i really enjoyed it. read more

Went to the Edison Saturday night for a birthday celebration. Was impressed with how nice and different it was from other restaurants in town. Sat outside because the inside was so noisy you could not hear! Since salads don't come with the dinner we asked our server if the wedge salad at $11.00 was big enough for two to share. She assured us it was and with a price of $11 one would hope so. When it came it turned out to be, not a wedge as described, but a handful of loose leaves turned upside down with dressing, etc drizzled over it. When I went to cut it in half the loose leaves collapsed because there was nothing but air under them! I was appalled that they priced this item at $11.00. What a total rip - do not order! I would of sent it back but didn't want to cause controversy over the dinner table. Wish I had taken a picture. The meals arrived and all three of us got different items. We all agreed they were very good. My shrimp and grits was the skimpiest of the three with only 6 average sized shrimp and a rather small portion of grits. The other two, chicken and pork chop, were very flavorable and tender. We asked our waitress what one side was because it was very bitter and extremely tough - totally inedible. She insisted it was spinach, which we all knew to be incorrect, so she had to go check and came back and said it was broccoli rabi - since none of us had ever had that before we don't know if bitter and tough are the norm or not. They definitely have some kinks to work out but the place really is beautiful overlooking the waterfall and all the lighting. Someone will make a real success of it even if these folks don't. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

We have so enjoyed the new restaurant in Tallahassee, Fl. - The Edison. A great dining experience in the wine room with a birthday party of 10. The wait staff was so on point and took very good care of us - thank you Troy and others! Chef Minas rocked last night with his shrimp/grits/amazing sauce, pork chops/roasted veggys and amazing steak plus risotto ball appetizers. The 10 of us were all very pleased. AND THEN......the dessert. I pre-ordered a cake so CHEF made a huge 3 layer Hummingbird cake with cream cheese icing, he personally brought it to us and also sliced and served it to us. It was the best cake ever. The wine room downstairs was beautifully set with sliver chargers and great stemware for our wines Kistler Pinot Nior! Good wine list and also house Chard and Pinot were tasty. What a fun, yummy, birthday evening......thank you Chef Minas !! read more

A five-star review for Bradford Animal Hospital is a no-brainer. When I moved to Tallahassee in 2011, the first thing I did was ask for a recommendation for a good vet. I received numerous recommendations for BAH and I now I understand why. My pet would be in capable hands by people who are very caring of my animal's needs. Drs. Fred and Sprayberry were very helpful when I was going though a difficult, emotional period when I had to put by 16 yo Cleo down. And now they are giving me wonderful, helpful advice and care with my dog Missy to assure that she lives a long and healthy life. Thank you all. You are the best. read more

I had read about this place before we came and had hoped to sit outside where it seemed beautiful and relaxing. Sadly we had come on a night that a graduation party was happening. So we had to sit inside... but the inside was very beautiful and we were next to a window. We were told it would be a 45 minute wait, but before we even made it back to our car they texted us that our table was ready. By the looks of the inside I was afraid kids wouldn't be super welcome, but surprisingly they had a kids menu with crayons. The food was great however the kitchen did not seem to be super accommodating. This may have just been because of the party; I don't know. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. I wish I could give this place zero stars. Unfortunately, we came here on a weekday for lunch for a coworkers birthday and were completely let down. First, we wanted to sit outside (50 degrees out) and the hostess said they would turn on the heaters and move them near us. So two of us are waiting outside for the rest of our party to arrive and for those 15 minutes, no one came and moved the heaters. No one even greeted us or got us waters or anything. So then we went inside and asked for an inside table smooshed with 6 people. The waiter was the worst. He had no idea what the specials were or the soup of the day or really anything. Through the entire meal two other parties of two came in and were helped by the same waiter. The waiter never checked on us during our meal for refills, condiments, how the food was tasting or anything. Meanwhile, the princess manager bartender was greeted by her boyfriend who brought her Chipotle and flowers. Instead of being a manager and doing her job, I literally watched her look at and smell her flowers for a good 10 minutes not even noticing that she was ya know, at work??? We brought a cake at the very beginning of the meal before we sat and wanted it brought out when we finished our food. We sat at the table for 30 minutes with our nasty, dirty plates in front of us and no check or cake in sight. I had to fake going to the restroom to tell the hostess (the manager was still too busy chatting up her boyfriend and friends) that we needed our plates cleared, our check delivered, and our cake brought out. By the time that even happened, we were super late to get back to the office. We didn't enjoy cake and no discount was given for crap food, crap service, crap management and for me basically telling the staff how to do their jobs. I noticed through the whole meal one table got all the attention towards the end. I looked up and saw Adam Corey and his pals enjoying excellent service. Thought it was great the waiter didn't take care of real, paying customers. Adam never once thought about anyone else in his restaurant or cared to know of how crappy the experience was. The service was passable until I attempted to get my server's attention to pay my check. When I could not get her attention, I walked up to the hostess and explained I must be leaving. The hostess said "I will just take this to the server" and I objected. 10 minutes later, I flagged down the manager and told her that both my server AND the hostess were MIA. After eating my chicken sandwich on Friday afternoon, another person at my table (who ordered the same chicken sandwich) noticed that hers was not cooked at all and was completely raw inside. This was a concern to me, as mine was already consumed. The manager came out and said this was a rare situation and offered the girl another chicken sandwich. I did not say anything about my sandwich because I didn't even look at my piece of chicken when eating it because I was dipping it in sauce. I woke up the next morning with a terrible case of food poisoning. From throwing up all day to having terrible diarrhea, I realized that my chicken sandwich must have also been raw. I called the restaurant, but only to receive more terrible service. This is a great location and one that I have been to many times, but this experience has absolutely changed my opinion on this establishment. I cannot tell you enough how badly the food is. Make sure to check your meal before eating it. I highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

Yes sir, beware of booking a private event at the Edision. I tried to book a private a party for 25 people through Sam. He told me that the minimum for my date was $1K food and beverage they could do buffet style of pre-fix menu. Two hours later he called and said that he spoke with his manager and he was told to tell me that for the month of December I would need to spend $2K for the event. I explained to him how on earth will a party of 25 that don't drink alcohol could reach that amount. I had no problem with the $2K but he kept insisting that since it wasn't in my budget I should find somewhere else. The investor should be aware of how their staff treat particular race of people. I was looking forward to hosting a party at Edison but the way Sam and his manager treated me left me no choice but to reach out to Sean Pittman via twitter. I hope he looks into this because I felt like they up the price because of my race. read more

Our group of ladies had lunch at The Edison after enjoying the Tour of Homes in Tallahassee. We enjoyed the excellent attention of our server, who was a definite upgrade from the usual college student servers in Tallahassee, who are really sweet and friendly but sometimes a bit on the amateur side. This gentleman was clearly a professional - what a pleasure! We also enjoyed a nice visit with the executive chef, who gave us all the info we needed about both the restaurant and the food. The food was wonderful, the coffee was outstanding - and we lingered for a long time with no feeling that we needed to give up our table. I will bring out-of-town guests to The Edison every time. With its view of Cascades Park and its sophisticated ambience combined with hometown attention, it's a winner. read more

Went to The Edison last night for the first time on a whim. I had been wanting to try it, but just had not made it there. I thought with no reservation it would be just a nice little tour of the place for future refererence. But, the staff was welcoming and pointed out there were spots at the bar that were open. I consider myself somewhat of a restaurant snob. What a great place! The atmosphere is the best in Tallahassee, the drinks were expertly made, and the food was delicious. The brick, wood, metal, and enormous arched windows makes this the coolest place in Tallahassee. Overall, The Edison is the gem of Tallahassee restaurants and bars! read more
