I hadn't been to Canopy Road in many years but was in town and wanted to have some of their delicious pancakes! Came by and ordered black coffee to start - fresh and delicious. Ordered a blueberry pancake, a sweet potato pancake, and two ordered of scramble eggs with cheese and hash browns. Unfortunately one of the orders had an egg shell but was promptly remade. Eggs and hash browns were tasty. I especially loved the pancakes. They've stayed as delicious as ever! Our server was super nice and friendly. Their menu is extensive but breakfast and lunch. 2nd time in a Month having breakfast at this location. Great coffee w plenty of refills. I had 2 eggs over easy, Sausage and 1 pancake. Sausage patties were overcooked and dry. I cut them up and made pigs in a blanket with 1/2 the pancake. Butter and syrup masked the dryness. Eggs were Cooked perfectly. The other person had the breakfast burrito which he said was delicious. I would say overall, the food was just OK. We had some issues with service. Two out of the three meals we ordered were completely wrong. So we had to wait for our meals to be re-cooked while the third person ate and almost finished their entire meal by the time we received our correct meal. It wasn't like one thing was wrong with our meal, it was completely different food than what we actually ordered. They didn't comp our food whatsoever. I think for such big mistakes like this, there should be some type of compensation. I wouldn't say this would be somewhere that I would visit again not just because of that experience, but I just thought the food was subpar. read more

Been there a few times. Steak eggs is delicious and last tried to get bacon instead of grits but they wouldn't for whatever reason even though it's the same price. Not the cleanest place. We had to get new water because there was a bug in one of our glasses and the whole place just has a sticky feeling to it. But that being said, the food was pretty solid! And the serving sizes are very decent. As all the other reviews mention, the fried green tomatoes are a must order. It's perfectly crispy but the inside just falls apart. The sauce is so good, and the macaroni salad it comes with is so cheesy and addicting. The Nashville hot chicken was also amazing, fried chicken almost always is. But I do wish it was a little spicier. The cabo blt was good but not the best thing I've had. Loved my first experience here, an excellent breakfast. I was in Tallahassee with a friend and our Uber driver highly recommended this place. The fried green tomatoes we shared for an appetizer were perfect, probably the best I have ever had. I absolutely loved the pimento cheese, it was creamy and delicious. The pancakes had a nice texture and flavor. I ordered a stack of two but could only eat one as they were very filling. I had ordered two eggs over medium, and they were quite undercooked, even the whites were runny. But this was a minor matter and didn't take away from this enjoyable breakfast. read more

Small spot that I stopped in for breakfast thanks to a recommendation. The coffee was good, and my breakfast was great. Food came out burn your face hot, and the corned beef hash was crispy, as it should be. Hearty multi grain toast and choice of hash browns, home fries, or grits. Everything was served in a hurry and my waiter was very nice and accommodating. Not much more I could ask for in a breakfast spot. Solid breakfast food. We've been going to various locations for years and always find the food to be consistently good. This time we went to the North Monroe location for an early-ish breakfast. Despite being early, the place was hopping. I've had various omelettes in the past as well as the pancakes and have enjoyed it. This time I wanted to l try something different and the Southern Benedict caught my eye. On top of a biscuit they put a sausage patty, fried green tomato, pimento cheese and poached egg which they top with hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately, it sounded better than it tasted. It was good, but there was too much contrast in temperature (hot sausage patty, cold pimento cheese, luke-warm tomato) so that it didn't quite work. And the hollandaise, while very tasty, was also on the cool side temperature-wise. So it was an OK breakfast but not great. Regardless, we will certainly be back. read more

Little breakfast spot located not far from our Airbnb that I found on Yelp, duh! Greeted immediately with a smile when I walked in and asked what I would like to drink. The menu is pretty large and there were several things I wanted to try. LOL. I ended up going with a make your own omelet that had sausage, mushrooms and provolone cheese with hashbrowns and toast. The sausage had a little spicy kick to it so very well may have been homemade. The amount of food given is a lot so I had plenty to stuff myself and then take about half back to Ben. The service was attentive and most of the people that came in after me were regulars as they were greeted by name and the one table had their drinks brought to them immediately and just one person had to actually order. This was my first time visiting Tallahassee so I had no idea about the food scene. Thanks to the Uber driver's recommendation I had a fabulous breakfast. Got started with some amazing fried green tomatoes. I loved that they came on a bed of greens. The remoulade was super yummy. I couldn't eat the pimento cheese that comes with it buty friend said it was delicious. I was on a quest for awesome pancakes and Canopy delivered! Perfect texture for me - crepe like but nice and fluffy. I should've stopped there but didn't. I got the Crab Cake Benedict which was rich but super tasty. When searching we found canopy road cafe less than a mile away from Main highway, very convenient for us, the place was super clean , very friendly, food was amazing we had the canopy special with coffee. Breakfast before starting a long drive, I filled up on protein and carbs (yes, keto diet is out the window on vacation) and lots of coffee. When I arrived, there was only one other customer inside. It slowly got busy so when I left by 9am, they were just about to have a wait. Service was great and I chose one of the filled omelets that had a bunch of yummy in it. The home fried potatoes were tasty and a little spicy. Sourdough toast was just right. They're doing the best that they can for social distancing with limited tables and one-time condiments. I was provided butter and salt and pepper and ketchup with my meal. The staff is wearing masks and masks are required of customers when not at their table. Nice meal, very tasty. This is always a go-to for breakfast. I usually get the vegan skillet but I decided to branch out and try some pancakes. I honestly think that I've been spoiled by IHOP because every other pancake really doesn't compare (I'm open to suggestions). Their pancakes were a little on the sweet side and I should've tried the pancakes before adding syrup because they were just that sweet. I will be going back to my usual skillets and omelets. If it ain't broke don't fix it right? I will say that they give you some good size pancakes and I chose a side of scrambled eggs and turkey sausage which of course were delicious. I came here for some breakfast as my hotel's restaurant was closed during the covid pandemic. I came right when it opened at 6:30 - to avoid crowds but also had an early start to my day. Quickly was greeted and sat as they were still preparing for the day. I ordered the breakfast burrito and a coffee. The coffee was nice and hot and had a nice coffee taste (i.e. - it didn't taste like water). Y'all, this place is so good! I was in Tally for a conference. Our hotel did not offer breakfast, so my colleague and I were on the lookout for a place to grab sustenance before a long day of work. I was shocked at the number of places near our hotel that were closed on Monday. Thankfully, Yelp, brought up this place and the picture of the pancakes sold me. We arrived at 8am. The location is small and doesn't look like much from the street. They do have a small outdoor patio that is dog friendly so that is nice. We were able to immediately grab a table inside, but 30-40 minutes later you would have been hard pressed to find one. Their pancake selection here is insane. It's one of the things that steered me here so I had to get one. They have a combo where you can get 1 specialty pancake with eggs and bacon or sausage for $10. Perfect. Lots of food and balance out the sweetness of the pancake with some protein. I had the Fat Elvis pancake (bacon, banana, and peanut butter) with scrambled eggs and sausage patties. My colleague had the blueberry cobbler pancake with eggs and bacon. It was the best pancake I ever ate in my life! The salt of the bacon, and the sweetness of the banana, with the creaminess of the pb sauce. It was a thing of beauty. I was totally glad I got the protein though because otherwise I might have ended up in a sugar coma, especially with my glass of sweet tea. Service was fast and friendly. My colleague and I were both very impressed, so much so that we came back the next day! The second day we changed it up and got the sticky bun pancake and the Reese's pieces pancake. We both give a slight edge to our day 1 pancakes, but maybe just because they were our firsts. We loved it the second day and were happy to discover that this is a small Florida chain with a handful of locations. We agreed that once we got back home we would have to trek to the Brandon location some weekend as unfortunately there is not an Orlando location. So if you are lucky enough to find yourself near a Canopy Road, do yourself a favor and go grab some pancakes! read more
