I went to this place with some friends after church, and I was very impressed! The menu had a large variety of empanadas to choose from and they offered combos so you can try different ones. My husband and I shared the mini mixed box combo and really enjoyed the empanadas we selected. Our least favorites were the Godfather and the Colombiana. They were still tasty just not our favorites! You get to select dipping sauces as well and I chose the Chipotle and Cilantro Garlic Ranch. Both were delicious and really added to the flavor of the food. Our friends ordered the corn, so we all tried it. It wasn't my favorite but if you like the combo of mayo and corn you will love the corn! All in all, we will go back here for sure read more

Empanadas were very good. We purchased a sample of three different empanadas and the seasoned ground beef was the best. At $3.00 per individual serving, I would enjoy them more if the price had been a little less. I understand there is labor to make these, but for the amount of filling they could reduce the price and sell more. All in all, very tasty. read more

Really tasty empanadas! We ordered the box where you can mix and match traditional and speciality empanadas. I arrived 30 minutes before closing and they were out of a few I wanted to try but I don't deduct any stars for that because that is completely understandable to me, just beware to show up earlier in the day if you really have your heart on trying a certain one. The girl working the counter was extremely friendly and made great recommendations based off what we typically like to eat. Overall, some empanadas were better than others but isn't that the fun of trying a place like this? None of them were bad. Anything that had pork in it were our absolutely favorites! The seafood paella was also great too and the cheesecake dessert one was fantastic. Our favorite sauces were the Cilantro Lime and the Cilantro Garlic Ranch. Since they were out of a few sides we had the black beans and mac and cheese which were great as well. We will definitely be back! I've had Makus Empanadas a ton of times at the Carolina Hurricanes games and these are FAR superior, there is no comparison. I wish they were in Raleigh rather than Wake Forest as it is such a far drive away and I would visit much more often. read more

I enjoyed the empanadas they were very yummy. I got the beef with oilives empanada which was my favorite. I also got the Jibaro one with the pork and sweet plantains which was also very good. My husband got the cheese one and it also good. My son got the pizza and he said it was great. This restaurant is super good. The food is ridiculously good and it's well priced. The portions are awesome as well. My personal favorite is the El Camaron. The dessert empanadas are so delicious! If you crave empanadas, this is a good place to go. The chicken and the cheese empanadas were my favorites. You can buy boxes with 12 or more. What I didn't like is how small are the sauces recipients they give with the empanadas. 3 little (tiny) tubs with a dozen is not enough. The boys that were serving were really nice. read more

Stopped by this place for lunch today with friends. Absolutely worth it! Very tasty empanadas with a great crust. I recommend the Aroz con Pollo, chipotle chicken as well as the beef and chicken empanadas. They also have sauces for dipping. Chipotle sauce was my favorite. I had a very poor first time experience. I came with my son, mother, and sister. The first stumbling block was I misunderstood the buy 2 empanadas, buy 2 drinks, and get 2 traditional empanadas free special. I didn't understand there were traditional and specialty empanadas. Then they just ran out of the one traditional empanadas I ordered - the Raleigh. The place opened at 10:00 AM. I ordered at about 12:40 PM. They are scheduled to be open until 9:00 PM. How do you run out of something so quickly? I was looking forward to trying a new place to eat. Instead I was terribly disappointed. My sister ordered a meal. My son, mother, and I went to Red Robin where they don't run out of menu items. Because of this experience, I won't be giving The Empanada Factory a second chance. read more

I heard rave reviews about this place since moving here 2 years ago, but I personally did not enjoy my meal at all. First I tried calling and was left on hold. Hung up after 3 1/2 minutes. I had the steak and cheese and the NY pepperoni pizza empanadas and they were lacking, to be kind. They were not even warm. My cilantro rice was crunchy from undercooking. I literally watched the cook take premade and frozen empanadas from the freezer and drop them in a fryer. My husband had the Piccadilla spicy beef and cheese and the Popeye (spinach and cheese) which he said were very good. The bathroom was filthy and the trash can was overflowing. It was just alright. I tried the Brasileira, the Raleigh, and the Picken Chicken. I really like the Raleigh, the BBQ was very moist and flavorful. Coming from Miami, nothing compares to the delicious foods that Miami has to offer! Not at all impressed with this place in the least. Unfortunately. North Carolina really doesn't have good Latin food! I have found that out the hard way! I am a professional chef that specializes in Latin cuisine and I have yet to find a real good Latin (Cuban) food restaurant. We had to check this place out after hearing so much about it on the Wake Forest Community Information Group on Facebook. We placed an order online and picked it up. We tried a variety of different ones and they were delicious. What I love about this place is the menu and the fact that you can order one of every empanada and experiment. This is a great place to eat. We took my nephew and niece and there are so many choices. I had the queso, which was yummy, and the cubano, which was also quite good. Ehh.. I am not impressed. Me being from Hartford, CT and being raised with and around Puerto Ricans these empandas are sub par to say the least. They are overpriced and not the best quality.
