Recently my wife, 3 of our close friends and myself, went to the Escape Effect. We have been to the Escape Effect on two different occasions. This company definitely is different from other brands. Unlike most escape rooms they offer a 60-minute, 75-minute, 90 minute, and 2-hour time limit room. Thats not the only way Escape Effect sets themselves apart from the rest. They give unlimited hints without penalties. Rooms are always private you'll never have to worry about being grouped with strangers. The escape games will only have you and your friends and family. Our first time here was the 75-minute Sherlock Studies. I don't want to give away too much information. If you're a fan of good mystery movie, you'll truly love this. My wife was a nervous at first because it starts in one room. It didn't seem like they'll be multiple areas. As everything unfolded, we could see that it wasn't the case. Again, this was absolutely a great room. Our second time here we did the A Knight to Escape. This is the infamous 2-hour time limit escape room. Again, I don't want to give away too much information. You're inside of Stonebury Castle. It takes the split-start escape room concept to new heights. I'd say if you're a fan of Medieval Times you'll truly enjoy this. We originally had 4 of our friends scheduled to join, however 2 couldn't make it. The 4 of us decided to press on we knew it would probably be a little tougher with less people, considering we spilt into 2 and 2, starting in 2 separate rooms to work our way back together. In this style of escape room communication is paramount. We were not able to escape due to the number of tasks. We inquired with the employee at the end. She said for a group of 4, we made great progress. I think she was being kind lol. Now on our most recent visit (3 days ago) we chose to redeem ourselves with the 2-hour escape room. This time we had five in our group. We had success this time around and finished with 9 minutes to spare. It was a great feeling to conquer this one. We definitely will return to the Escape Effect. Still have 2 rooms to conquer. We must do the 90 minute rooms as well. At Odds With The God and In Fright Before Your Eyes. And of course the 60 room, Encore. If you're looking for something fun to do for a date night or a birthday party or even a team builder at work, I would highly recommend the escape effect. Aces! read more

A fun escape game that included paranormal activity. This was the first escape game that I've done that heavily involved relying on ghost and spirits of the past to help you escape. We needed to escape from a room it did feel slightly cluttered with most of the game taking place in one main room, but they really maximize on clues and truly making you pay attention. Also it was fun to have to operate a bit in the dark. Game master was very good about letting us figure it out and only chiming in when we asked. Would absolutely come back to play other games! I don't know who needs to hear this, but GO TO THE ESCAPE EFFECT. This place had me feeling like I was the main character in a movie... except I kept forgetting clues and panicking like a Walmart version of Sherlock Holmes. And let me tell you about Tino. This man deserves an Oscar, a raise, a parade, and maybe joint custody of my firstborn. He hyped us up, roasted us just enough to keep us humble, and somehow managed to make us feel smart even when we absolutely were not. At one point I was convinced we were about to spend the night locked in the room because my brain fully shut down, but Tino guided us like he was the Uber driver of escape room enlightenment. 10/10, five stars, would absolutely get mentally destroyed by their puzzles again. We decided to try this place out for my friend's birthday. Only one of the three had ever done an escape room before so we decided to give it a go. Making a reservation online was very easy and they have several discounts that could be available depending on your circumstances. What I also like about The Escape Effect is that you can do a private escape room and no minimum number of people are required. Please note there is no internet service in the escape rooms, and you are NOT allowed to take photos inside the room. Your guide will take a picture of your group in the room at the end of the event and then text you a link to the picture. We did the "At Odds with the Gods" escape room. It was a blast! Although we did not finish in time (we probably should have asked for more hints!), we had fun. It is quite challenging, and you may need more than three people if your group is a novice at this type of activity as was our group. We still had four more locks to go to unearth additional clues and we were told the last part of the puzzle takes about 20 minutes to finish. (Lydia was our hostess and she told us only 20 percent or so complete this escape room.) We would have needed at least another hour! LOL! We enjoyed the 90-minute exercise so much, we would have stayed another hour if it was possible. I think once you get the hang of these escape rooms, it gets easier. We learned a lot for our next attempt at it. This is a fun activity for friends and family alike. Give it a try. I think you will enjoy it as much as we did, as supported by the overwhelming majority of customers giving it five-star reviews also! read more

We did the God room. Fun room. No sound effects, or music. So basic theming compared to others we have been to. Majority was locks -which is not our favorite Still fun for a family of 5 Heads up if you prefer a more interactive escape room, or game master style immersive experience. A part was missing, but we still figured it out Youngest was 9 and a couple teens in our group Worth a visit for sure! We got out with 29 minutes left 3 hints Total allotted 1hr. 15 min If you are ever in orange county California-the weeping witch is one of the best escape rooms I have been in. Maybe 1 lock in the whole room. The more locks typically the less immersive the experience But better for smaller kids. I recently realized I have not reviewed the escape effect. I consider myself an escape room enthusiast, we have another couple that we very frequently go to escape rooms with. We've also done a few with family and other friends. I absolutely adore escape rooms; they are so much fun and you have such a good time. I do not like any that are scary, my husband would prefer to do the scary ones but I'm just not that into it. We have been to the escape effect twice, one time we did escape the other time we did not. The escape effect is unlike any other escape room in Orlando. It's different because their rooms are more than the standard 60 minutes. They have one room which is 75 minutes, two rooms which are 90 minutes, and one room which is 2 hours. We first did the 75-minute Sherlock studies room. I don't want to give too much information away but we had a lot of fun, it was really neat to start in a room but have to move to different rooms after you figured out your next steps. I was a little nervous with this room because it just seemed like it was one of those escape rooms that you only stayed in the one room, so I was very excited once we started to move to different areas. The second time we went here we did the two-hour escape room. There was supposed to be six people total, but two canceled a few hours before. Since myself and my husband and the other couple love escape rooms, we decided to still do the room. This room is completely unique in that you have two hours to complete it, you also start in two different areas, half of us started on the light side which was a courtyard, and the other half started on the dark side which was the dungeon. This room requires lots of communication and eventually everyone will meet up. For this room I absolutely 100% say you need more than four. I think if we had had the additional two people we would have escaped. When we asked at the end how much we had left we actually had quite a few tasks left before we would have escaped. We were not even close and this was with quite a few hints. This room was not hard it just needed more people to assist. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking to do an escape room. There are two other rooms that we want to try one of them being at odds with the gods which is also 90 minutes. The other 90 minute room fright before your eyes seems a little scary which again I do not enjoy, however their website says we can let them know to adjust for those not so brave people. If you're looking for something fun to do for a date night or a birthday party or even a team builder at work, I would highly recommend the escape effect. read more

We did the Medieval Dungeon Escape room with our party of 8. It was a two hour mission that we didn't finish in time, even with hints. It may have been because our party consisted of 4 teens, 2 adults and two children. I wouldn't recommend this one unless you're experienced at Escape Rooms. But we had fun figuring out clues. It was nice to know we were allowed to leave for bathroom breaks if needed, although no pause on the clock to do so. read more

Done many escape rooms in NYC, but this escape room experience was just as exciting and great. The rooms are not just thrown together, and you can really tell the time and love that went into designing them. We did the haunted theater and the Sherlock Holmes rooms both amazing in their own right . Great staff, helpful but not just giving things away with their clues and hints. Very interactive experience a lot of free range in the rooms which is great, plenty of surprises too. Plan on coming back to do the 2 room castle themed one. Keep doing what you're doing this was a great birthday activity and that's coming from a group of 20-30yr olds! read more

My fiancé wanted to do an escape room for his birthday, so we did the "At Odds with the Gods" room and had a great time. It was our first time in an escape room, and we had a great time. We ended up playing in a different room after finishing the first room. I was relieved to find out that you don't have strangers in with you so it was just the two of us. The first room we played in was AT ODDS WITH THE GODS. These rooms are not easy, and we asked for a lot of help, but we did finish this particular room. YAY!! The second room was even more challenging! I apologize for forgetting the name of the room. The theme was about a magician and his murdered assistant. The room was in the dark but we had the use of flashlights and a black light. Unfortunately, we didn't finish on time, but regardless of whether we won or not, it was a lot of fun!! The rooms are monitored, and the employees will pipe in and ask if you want a clue. You can also push a button for them to help. It's nerve-wracking to see the time count down, but somehow, that adds to the fun!!! read more
