From the booking site, it looks like others can join your party which I wasn't a fan of, but no one else joined us. We picked the Cosmic mission and barely solved it with two minutes to spare! I liked that it was spread across 3 rooms and required us to solve puzzles together being in different rooms entirely. We've done several escape rooms and recommend this one if you've done them before. I heard the hardest one is prison break and will be coming back to try it out! read more

Came here last night and did the special ops room. We had 7 people in my group and we ended up escaping with 11 minutes to spare!! WOOHOO! Paul was our guide and he was great! The special ops escape room had a difficulty level of 8/10. The rooms were a little on the smaller side, esp with 7 people so it got a little stuffy. Price is also on the higher end for 40.99 per person, I believe there are discount prices for Monday to Thursday if you have a bigger group. Overall, we had a great time! Definitely want to try their prison break escape room, Paul did mention that that was their most difficult one. He also mentioned that gold rush was a good one too. read more

Loved their escape rooms! We did prison break room and it's challenging than all the other ones and we got unlimited hints but only if we knew. It was such a fun game where you're put into two separate rooms where one person or pair can be in either room. It was so fun and it plays with your mind. We also did their special ops where we played with another group where there were little kids and it was super fun! It was the second hardest room but we got out with 15 min to spare! It was absolutely so fun to do. Will definitely be back to try all the other rooms. read more

On the pricey side compared to many that I have done, but probably the highest production value of any escape room I've done. We did The Depths and were impressed with the theming and interior. Did we escape? Uhhh. I was invited to do an escape room for the very first time. I have never done one in the past so I was excited and nervous at same time. The room can only have up to 8 people. Our group was bigger so we had to split to two rooms. We couldn't all be together unfortunately. Our group did the Timeliner: Train through time room. I didn't know what to expect but I had more fun than I thought I would! You really have to think and concentrate. Everyone needs to be involved. It really is a team effort. Honestly like working on a group project in high school. I just loved how we all came together. Even though we didn't escape in time, the employee said we all did pretty good for our first try! Overall - really fun n engaging if you're into problem solving with friends and want an engaging activity to do. Would recommend the Cosmic one if you like space/science stuff. Our guide, Dennis, was very nice and helpful throughout our time in there. With that said, probs won't do again anytime soon bc it was lowkey expensive (about $44/person after tax) if you compare to other amusement activities that you can do for the entire day vs. 1.5 hr here. Felt like the price range of $30-35 would've been more reasonable imo. However, our theme was cute n considering the technology behind it, price was somewhat reasonable. read more

The best experience ever!! This was my 2nd ever escape room and my boyfriends and his 2 friends first as well! This escape room was well thought out and beautifully set. I honestly thought I was in a spice market in Morrocco for a minute! We had a few extra players join our game to fill the spots-- a mom and a grandpa and a little kid join us, and TBH without the little kid, we wouldn't have solved it in time!!! There were definitely some times when we got stumped! Turns out that little kid has been to our game setting before and has never solved it either! Most importantly, the boyfriend and his friends absolutely LOVED it for his birthday! I did,too! It's so interesting to see how people think in order to solve a puzzle! read more

Hands down this is once of the most amazing escape room locations that i have been to here in dallas! The rooms are so well thought out and strategically planned out! The staff is so friendly and helpful as well as ver knowledgeable about all the diffrent rooms that they offer. The rooms are very clean and the bathroom is clean as well. I have done a handful of the escape rooms and am never disappointed! I definitely recommend this location for a date night or just a fun family outing! I wish I could give more then 5 stars! I loved this escape room!!!' The service first of all was top notch! The team was so helpful and friendly. We took our 3 children with us and they had a blast. We did the Gold Rush Room. The effects and scenes in each of the rooms were realistic. We've been to some other escape rooms where it's like you're in a plain room that someone just threw together. But this place was great! The props, the scene decor, the tv screen that gives you clues when you're stuck, even the intro video...it felt like we were really were in a cabin in the woods. I thoroughly enjoyed this escape room over the ones I've been to before. It is $45 per person (more expensive than others) for an hour of fun (but well worth the price). We chose level 7 The Depths with six people and failed to escape. It was challenging with so many layers of intricacies that I would have never picked up on the clues. You can ask for hints at any time so that was nice if you felt stuck and wanted to cheat. I already plan to go back soon but maybe try an easier stage next time with a different set of friends. read more

This location is really good. The games are good, the rooms are nice, the staff is friendly. We have been twice and have been impressed with them. It is VERY expensive though. And they pair you with strangers unless you buy out the room. All of the clues make sense and everything was very well done. read more

Never done an escape room before and had a fantastic first experience at the Grandscape Location in The Colony with EVAN as our guide. He was outgoing, funny and kept us from stressing too much. We actually joined a group of people we didn't know and despite initially being unsure of the set up, we all had a great time once we got the hang of it (shout out to Evan's guidance and hints). This is one of the best places to go north of Dallas in the metroplex, they offer a wide variety of escape rooms you can choose from, even giving you how difficult each one is. After a less than stellar first experience the management team of The Escape Room in the The Colony reached out genuinely apologetic, and offered for us to try another room at no cost to us.  The first room that we did - the Mysterious Market - had a few puzzles that did not work well as well as some lighting issues. Management assured us that they would address and improve on these concerns.  The second room we did - The Depths - was a really great room. The room was well-engineered with puzzles in varying difficulty.  This room had something for everyone. Lots of clever clues and told a fun story.  We also had a great Gamemaster - Dakota. She was friendly and insightful. The price point of $40 each is typical of most escape rooms...actually maybe a little less expensive than average.  They will place you with other groups if need be, but if you strategically plan your adventure you can still have a private room. But the main reason that this Escape Room has the 5 stars that it does is the customer service. Our party of six played the Specials Ops room and had a great time. Our guests were between the ages of 17-56 and everyone contributed and had something to do. The game started on time, the puzzles were challenging and we finished with time to spare. We can't wait to go back and try another game. I love escape rooms. I've probably done about 30 or so in my life and have had a wide variety of experiences from downright awful rooms to extremely professional setups. While I would not rate this as the best place I've been to, I would definitely put it in the top 5. My wife and I played through the playground room together and had a blast. The room was stuffed with puzzles that really made you think outside of the box and were very thematic, which is one of my favorite parts of escape rooms when they really tie it all together and make it make sense. At one point we did run into a small issue where a golf ball was missing (it seems it had not been replaced) so we had to ask for help there, but otherwise we didn't run into any other issues like that. The only recommendation I would have to them is to improve a couple of the puzzles. There were a LOT so it wasn't a big deal but 1 or 2 of them (like the flag pole) weren't intuitive enough in my opinion. Overall, extremely fun and we bought a discounted ticket after finishing to come back and play another room. read more

My husband and some friends had done all of the ones at the Grapevine location pre-covid. The Escape Game has been the best of any of the escape game places we had tried. We had talked about trying out some of the other ones out of area but never really had gotten the chance with that group of friends. I recently found out they had added this location with a few room experiences that the Grapevine one didn't have. Plus, My youngest kiddo also had just discovered his love of doing escape games when we went to Minneapolis location when we went up there to visit, and there we did Mission Mars. (Why they don't have Mission Mars in Houston, with it being near NASA is crazy!) So at The Colony we did The Depths & Special Ops: Mysterious Market. Without giving anything away, while I liked a twist in the market room ... I think of the two The Depths was our favorite. We lucked out and had some fun folk end up being booked in the room with us. I totally recommend taking advantage of the after game deals they offer if you plan on doing other rooms. They do plan on adding a Train themed room at the end of the year/start of the new year that we do plan on trying out! read more

If you and your friends enjoying thinking outside of the box, then try this. You have a variety of scenes to figure out how to escape at the end. We did the prison break which was the hardest one. We had alot of fun working together trying to figure out the clues to escape. Unlike other escape rooms, they offer unlimited clues and you can bring your phone in to take photos and videos. (Just don't take photos or videos of secret clues lol) Our game leader, Kareem, was great in helping us with clues. Highly recommend trying this for family and friends. ENJOY! read more

First time doing an escape room. We were a party of 2, Really were looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately being teamed up with people you've never met that have done escape rooms really took away from the experience. Also had a preteen with them that complained about not getting to do enough. Unless you have a group i dont not recommend this experience. My girlfriend and would have worked much better together without people talking over each other trying to be the first to do something. Not worth the $82 for 2 people. read more

The first clue is always a brain scratcher but our hostess, I wished I remember their names, actually gave us a very helpful hint before the game started. Mixed feelings about The Escape Game at The Colony. The location is very convenient. The people running the games were organized and friendly. We did the Special Ops game and all the puzzles worked well, it was clean with nothing broken. We loved the multi-rooms and complexity of the puzzles. Where the poor review comes into to play are two areas. First, we were put together with another group which we knew was a possibility. The other group asked for clues 3 separate times and the game master would share. Most rooms state everyone needs to agree for a clue first before they are revealed. Second, the big issue was any moment we paused, the game master was giving another clue without anyone asking. If we asked that would be one thing but we weren't asking. We had no opportunity to try to figure anything out because she kept pushing us to the next puzzle solution instead of letting us figure it out or ask for help. We ended up "escaping" in 40 minutes without any sense of accomplishment. I really feel like this experience was ruined by the game master. read more
