This is only my second time experiencing an escape room and first time at The Escapery . First, check Groupon before you go because they might have an awesome deal for you and your friends. This location was much larger than the one I went to ITP, the business space and escape room. There's a few couches in the waiting area so you have a place to sit while you wait for your groups turn or friends to arrive. Only thing I didn't notice at Escapery was lockers, so we had to take our purses and jackets into the room with us. This location is opened Thursday - Sunday and you can book private events on Monday- Wednesday and during off hours. It's the perfect spot for team building or a party. Room: The escapery currently has 4 rooms and I believe they have a 5th room coming soon. Our group decided to choose Silo, 4/5 difficulty. It's a military themed adventure and not a game of horror which was perfect for me. It's a game of deduction and problem solving and every clue is important. It's important to work as a team and communicate with each other. Tip: If your group includes a child under the age of 12, you must book a Private Game. Service was outstanding and our host/ game master had a great personality and provided some assistance while we were in the puzzle room from time to time, we also had the option to call 3 times in the 60 minutes for help. Although we didn't complete our mission, we had loads of fun and laughs. I will definitely be back to try another room.

What a fun time! My family and I all came here to try our first escape room experience, and thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The 6 of us made a private reservation and had the entire room to ourselves. We chose the Ripper room, and while we didn't make it out in time, we all really enjoyed it! (And we were able to guess the killer!) Jacob was a really great host, and would look forward to coming back for a second try!

The Escapery opened February 12, 2016 in north Marietta. It's one of the latest escape room game companies to open in metro Atlanta. Like several of these escape room businesses, The Escapery is located inside a nondescript office park. It's in the same office park as CrossFit Kennesaw. Just keep driving around the buildings until you find Suite 235. It's the one with the glowing red gear inside the storefront window. Our team of escape room enthusiasts (Team Bad Math) took on The Escapery for the first time on April 26, 2016. I say "first time" because we plan to return later this year and try their second room after it opens. Only one room is open right now - it's called Destiny. Destiny is set in the year 1952 and your team's objective is to recover the Spear of Destiny, a coveted artifact. It's obvious elements of Destiny were inspired by the Indiana Jones movies. We were told by Mark, the owner, that they plan to open their second room, called Silo, in August. Silo is a Cold War-themed room. This is a family-owned business and I believe this is the only location. It's not a chain like Amazing Escape Room (Sandy Springs) or Breakout (Peachtree Corners, Buckhead) for example. If I recall correctly, Mark and his wife Haley are the owners and they built this place from the ground up. Mark quit his job as a civil engineer to enter the escape room business and he's the game designer. If you've never done an escape room before, here's the jist: You and your friends pay to be locked in a room filled with clues. Working against the clock (timers are typically set to 60 minutes), your group must follow the trail of clues, solving riddles and puzzles along the way, to find the key to unlock the door and escape the room. I think it's a lot of fun because you're put into a real-life, dramatic, movie-like situation. Many escape room companies have opened in metro Atlanta over the last few years. At the time of writing this review, I've played 21 different rooms at 11 different locations (9 different businesses) throughout the Atlanta area. The businesses include Room Escape Atlanta (Tucker and Edgewood), Mystery Room (Sugarloaf Mills), Paranoia Quest (Downtown), Mission: Escape (Loring Heights), Amazing Escape Room (Sandy Springs), Escape the Room (Downtown), Breakout (Peachtree Corners and Buckhead), Ultimate Escape Game (Galleria 75), and The Escapery (Marietta). I've reviewed all of them, so if you're curious about each one, you can check out my list on Yelp here: https://www.yelp.com/list/atlanta-escape-room-games-atlanta. The list is generally sorted from my most favorite escape room company to my least favorite, but let me be clear - I think all of them, except for perhaps Mystery Room, are a blast. The Escapery has a 1940s/1950s theme going on. At least, that's what it feels like to me. The vintage radio in the lobby and the art deco-style graphics designed for each room remind me of the video game series BioShock. Overall, this business is well crafted with a fine attention to detail. It looks great. I like that the lobby is nice and bright, perfect for team photos, which is essential for any escape room business. Some escape room companies' photo areas are too dark. I noticed the room we played, Destiny, has an elaborate storyline. It may have the most elaborate setup and story of any room I've played up to this point. I could tell Mark really put a lot of thought into it. He even came up with reasons, that fit into the story, for why we could only ask for three hints during the game. (Normally, most escape room companies will allow you to radio or ask aloud for up to three hints, but it's just part of the game rules, not a part of the story.) Like other escape room companies, there are cameras inside the game room so the staff can monitor your progress and give you hints when needed. They can hear you too. Unlike other escape room companies, you are not really locked in the room. The staff have left the room unlocked in case you need to take a potty break. In Destiny, your objective is not to escape the room anyway. It's to recover the Spear of Destiny from an archeologist's office. Also, other rooms I've played have a monitor with the timer on the wall. Here, you're given a stopwatch which someone on the team must hold onto and keep track of. All in all, we really enjoyed Destiny. There was one malfunction, but it did not deter from our overall enjoyment with the room. We beat it with a time of 41:12 which was the second best time. We played the room with a group of seven, the maximum number allowed. The Escapery charges $28 per person per room + Cobb County sales tax. This price is comparable to other escape rooms around town. We found a deal on Groupon (https://www.groupon.com/deals/the-escapery) so it cost us only $17.86 per person. We'll be back.

"Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?" -- Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) The Escapery is a new Escape Room business located near the base of Kennesaw Mountain at the edge of Marietta. They actually prefer to refer to themselves as Adventure Games versus Escape Rooms, which I find interesting and different. The room was definitely one of the most creative we have done, and felt like a bit of an adventure. I would still classify this as an escape room (with an adventure feel). Honestly, I had not hear about this place until it popped up while I was writing a review for another escape room venue - and I added it to my list of places to do. Then it popped up on Groupon one day (with a 5 minute ticking clock) and I needed to jump on it immediately. I was thankful for the discount with as many of these rooms as we do, but the room was great enough that I would pay full price as well. They currently have 1 room open with one under construction and another 1 or 2 in concept meetings. Destiny is a cool concept - you must retrieve the Spear of Destiny. ***MILD SPOILERS*** Do not read this if you want to do this room. The concept is very Raiders of the Lost Ark. Not a ton of locks (as with other rooms) and you just have to find the spear to be finished - no final code to open the door to get out. In fact, they don't actually lock you in the room at all. You can come and go as you please. This messes with the feeling of needing to escape at all. Clearly why they are going for more of an adventure versus an escape. Also, one somewhat major point for me, there is no timer in the room. They send you into the room with an antique pocket watch to track your time. To be fair, we set it down on a table when we got in there and forgot about it. I respect the aesthetics of the room and not spending money on a countdown clock - but we really had no idea what our time was at any point. This really killed the sense of urgency. We had one minor hiccup in the room where one of the the tricks failed. Luckily our game master was watching us on camera and realized we had done everything right and brought me the key we needed (it was supposed to appear and did not). Also, we were able to bypass an entire serious of clues because we figured something out - a bit disappointing - but we still solved the room. I'd ask that you consider, at least, adding a real timer in the room for Silo. ***END OF SPOILERS*** Our overall experience was great. We arrived 15 minutes before our booked time (as instructed) for signing waivers and the establishment was dark (closed). I called the number listed on Yelp and the owner answered (thank goodness). He had not seen us on the schedule and had left. Turns out there was a huge corp event for several hours before us and he did not realize anyone was scheduled afterwards. He was embarrassed and drove back and had returned in about 7 minutes from our conversation. He was very apologetic and accommodating as he reset the room, gave us waters, let us use the restrooms, etc. and made sure we were ready to go. He was also a great game master. He paid attention to what we were doing and gave us helpful hints, not hints to things we had already done. The next morning, I received another apology via email, inviting Team Bad Math back to do Silo once it opens. That's Customer Service folks! We will definitely return to The Escapery!!

What a great family outing! We didn't book a private room, so we had to wait for others to arrive to start our time. Note to others...if you don't book a private room, you will most likely be put with another group, so please be on time to not make others wait, like we had to. Asheton was great at describing the rules and regulations and we were on our way! The room we had was a bit tougher than other escape rooms we've done and we did have to use all of our clues, but we finished with just under a minute to spare! It's family night, you have to go and you're going to like it. Whew! They did! Took our three young adult boys and two of their g/f's. The seven of us had a really good time. It was just the right level of hard. Everyone contributed to solving the puzzle and escaping the room! Initially I thought the price to be a little steep, $207 tax included, but two nights before we dropped half that on pizza, drinks, and trivia. We did dinner at home and then headed out for fun. We enjoyed this much, much more than family trivia night so for us it was worth it. Thank you for helping us create fun family memories! read more

The Escapery doesn't disappoint. Fun for all. Our first time doing an escape room and this was a blast. Expensive(?) but probably on par with other places, ~ $29/person. I am not experienced enough to give it 5 stars - may change the rating later. Very friendly and accommodating. We were late but never felt rushed and they even had a place for photos and obliged to take pictures with our many cell phones. They offered us bottled water - nice touch. Currently only have 1 room which is the Destiny, very clever, less of an escape more of a challenging find the artifact before you run out of time (1 hour) with only 3 assisted clues given. 2 more rooms opening soon. Can't wait! We were a group of 5 and it was fun, you probably need at least 3 players, max of 7. Highly recommend. Personal belongings are left in a basket in the room you are playing. Dress casual and comfortable. read more

We did the Ripper room. It was very challenging, fun and at a great price. The customer service is fantastic, polite, friendly, professional and informative. This is a hidden gem in Marietta. A real must, we will be returning soon to do one of the other 3 rooms. So much fun we had to buy the shirt! read more

So far I've done 6 escape rooms (2 in the Atlanta areas) and this one was definitely one of the best! John was informative and so nice. He made the experience very enjoyable. I'm sad I don't actually live in the area, because I would love to come again. We did the Ripper escape room which was challenging, but in a good way. If you choose this one, you'll need someone logical on your team to get out. Good luck! read more

We had a great time at The Escapery. It's a great space that even has puzzles right inside the lobby! The staff were great and very considerate in waiting when we had a straggler in our group. Make sure to check Groupon for deals. We did the Destiny room, which we were told was going to be re-designed into a different room soon. But it was a fun challenge. Definitely recommend! read more

Boy, this was really fun! We loved this room and the owners were so personable and fun to talk to. The puzzles were unique and really cool! Our group had 4 adults and 3 kids (12,11,9). It was so much fun for them and us. The game master was really rooting for us unlike some places we've tried where they're celebrating our loss and intentionally not giving us helpful clues. This was our second escape room of the day, and it was such a fun experience! The room was very unique in not only the objective, instead of unlocking the "final door" you had to find the spear of destiny then get out, but also in the quality of the puzzles themselves. In fact, most were handmade by the owner and his wife. The attention to detail and craftsmanship behind these puzzles still have us talking a week later, and probably many more to come. Many of the puzzle concepts were also quite unique; my girlfriend and I have about 9 escape rooms under our belt between the two of us and we were both impressed by their design. Can't wait until we're down that way again to try Ripper! read more

I went to this escape room and my friends and i participated in Jack the Ripper room. It was challenging but so much fun. It was 7 of us and although we did need help along the way it was a great. Ando was a great "host" and was totally in character. whoever builT the room and created the puzzle is amazing. I would definitely go again even though we did not get out of room to save the victim nor did we guess the killer. lol. However i will suggest some of the clues that are notes should be re written..i know it was suppose to look aged but some were difficult to read in the folds and creases where they are constantly probably being refolded read more

Fantastic escape room. Background - I have done about 15 escape rooms in Texas and was in town for the weekend. I only had time for one room with my girlfriend and a local friend and after lots of research we found the Escapery. We ended up setting the record (team om-nom-nomnivores) at 33 minutes! That helped add to the rush of excitement. Totally worth it. High quality props and well thought out puzzles. If I'm in town when their next room opens I will make it a point to stop by. Also, bonus points for that one specific reference from Raiders (if you've done the room you'll know what I mean). Keep up the good work! read more

Had a super time here tonight! We had a work team building outing. I highly recommend this place. Very clever puzzles and it kept you interested till the end. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly. The food was great and they served a good assortment of soft drinks. They do allow wine and beer to be brought in as well. The Escapery is a fantastic escape room adventure! They offer challenging rooms at competitive prices. The effects in the room we played were very well put together. I've done a LOT of escape rooms (well over 20), and the one we did was easily one of the hardest rooms I've ever tackled. The room we did was so difficult that maybe some of the finite details could have been bypassed to allow for a greater chance of victory, but we still definitely had fun. Asheton, our game master, was wonderful! He really committed himself to his "role" in our room. He assisted us when we needed it and did so promptly (as to not burn too much time) and gave gentle nudges when he saw us struggling. I do wish they had a monitor/screen in the room showing your remaining time (and maybe even remaining clues). All in all, we enjoyed our experience at The Escapery and look forward to exploring their other adventures soon! read more

Me and my husband are big fans of escape rooms. We've visited all top rooms in Atlanta area. Based on my experience I can claim for sure Escapery is THE BEST OF THE BEST!!! They have four rooms and all of them are awesome with extraordinary artifacts and non-standard solutions. They put a lot of thought to make each room particular. They don't use hundreds of stupid locks with 4 digit codes and black lights everywhere just to keep team busy but they are using their OWN unique technologies you NEVER find anywhere else. Yesterday we visited the fourth room - Seance - and had a lot of fun! Waiting impatiently for the next room! read more

The clues are not super easy, so the game is challenging, but that what you signed up for! Not inappropriate for kids, but under 12 yrs old, probably will get bored. Bring your adult friends and you will have a fun experience. read more

Super fun puzzles that are well thought out and challenging without being impossible. The different rooms are well thought out and there is a great sense of fun inside them. While I think the experience will depend on who is with you, the staff here are wonderful. All of them are fun and seem to enjoy the job a lot. They have fun with their characters and are both super helpful while also letting his figure things out for ourselves. I have done two rooms here and can't wait for the next. Again the staff is amazing and truly pushed the fun rooms from great to amazing! read more

This was the second escape room I did and I have yet to find one to top it. We were lucky to have some time before we got into the room to chat with the game designer, and he is super nice, cool, and clearly passionate about the work he is doing. He has built the mechanisms himself and they are the best and most interesting I have found. Another cool aspect of this place is that the clues are given in the style of the game as if the employee is a character, which I have yet to find anywhere else and I really enjoyed. All around my best escape room experience. Can't recommend highly enough! read more

My family and friends and i were so excited to try a new room. After we booked our room a week in advance we arrived early to find a locked front door. Which was weird because we got a conformation that morning for our room. After calling the place to get ahold of someone we waited about 20 minutes before receiving a call back. One of the owners called back and asked "If we were in the right place" , which was only frustrating because we had been standing outside for over 30 minutes now. They claimed to have called everyone to cancel that day, yet we never got a call. As we were trying to figure out what to do a young girl arrived to speak with an employee because her friends had rented a room as well. Only thing was, they had planned a proposal for that evening and were told to come early to set it up. Upon arriving and speaking to us she found out it was closed and broke into tears because of the ruined plans. Safe to say they never received a call either. read more

The Escapery is a locally owned, hand crafted escape room game. It opened in February of 2016 with an Indiana Jones themed room, Destiny. The Escapery now has 5 rooms, Destiny, Jack the Ripper, Silo 601, Curious Case of Gillian Grace, and Le Feu

Once everyone gets their bowl(s), we all sit with our groups for further instructions. Depending on the size of our bowls, we are instructed how to fill gravel and soil. Afterwards, we choose plants. We could choose 1 large and 1 small or 3 small. I chose 3 small. Further instruction is given when we decide on which plants want. Then we're off to making our bowl(s) as creative as we want. It was overcrowded with people colliding in the arcade area. Many arcade machines were broken, some of the laser tag blasters are broken, there were multiple police cars outside the entrance at the time. the environment did not feel well-managed or family-friendly. Given the high cost, I expect much better care, professionalism, and attention to children's safety and comfort. I would not recommend this venue for kids' parties.

Mushroom watering were replaced with cool surfboard cool and rinse stations- If that wasnt enough you can hop right behind the rinse stations to Parakeet Springs, which we did a walk through to MANY time to mini water falls-buckets of water (like the mushrooms), sprinklers and plenty of places to cool of. Over time, though, the start times have drifted -- sometimes beginning 10-15 minutes late and wrapping up early before the next session. It's frustrating not knowing when the actual instruction time begins or ends. Another issue is the inconsistency with the coaching. The coaches seem to rotate frequently, and there doesn't appear to be a clear, consistent curriculum from week to week. Some coaches focus more on warm-ups and running than on skill development, while others (like Odell and Ronaldo) do an excellent job teaching technique and engaging the kids. Unfortunately, we haven't seen them in a while, and switching days hasn't helped us find them again. We've also noticed that while the club doesn't require cleats or shin guards, several kids wear them, which gives them an advantage during drills and scrimmages. It would be helpful if TOCA clarified equipment expectations so all players can participate on an even playing field. Overall, TOCA Marietta has potential -- especially when led by strong coaches -- but the inconsistency in scheduling, coaching style, and structure has made our experience uneven. With more stability and clearer communication, this could be a great program.

There are views of the river over the bridge and a bunch of different trails one could take. My clients enjoyed the little free library that many of the parks around here have. It's to the left, right off the main parking lot when you drive in. We borrowed a few books and now we can return some one day to this location and others. I love the events such as wine tasting - I think it was over 60 wines; the in-depth Pilates events, they recently updated the gym equipment, the coaches are great with fabulous playlist and there are a lot of community focused events. It's a really big tennis facility so if you're in to racket sports, this is the place for you. I still have my LT membership and that being said the locker rooms need an update. Integrating to a system that allows me to schedule tennis, massages etc as well as scan into the club would make things more convenient. I don't have traditional car keys so having to carry a single tiny card with me can be a bit frustrating. They are contract based - 1 year minimum but there is definitely value if you live or work in the area.

Before we arrived I talked to Stephen & explained how we were celebrating a 16th Birthday Party & how we've been to rooms before for Birthday celebrations & we've had good experiences(lots of clues) & rooms where it's been so difficult it's not such a great experience & he assured me that we would have a good time & he said he would be in the room to help point us in the right direction. My daughter chose the hardest room, The Ripper Room, & I wanted this to be an exciting memory for all but instead it sucked. I guess I wish there was different levels of difficulty in each room that could be adjusted each time for the expert level of the participants. I understand this was rated as difficult but she like the cool THEME of the room. I thought the the girl guiding us could have done a better job moving us from room-to-room quicker. I wished they could've given us more clues to solve to lead us into the final room. More clues & more time would've made our experience better since nobody seemed to be waiting there after us. I think Escape rooms have the potential to be so cool but the experience is mostly a let down & a bummer bc you go in thinking there's potential to solve the puzzle & you leave feeling like a loser which is not a great feeling for most people. We will not frequent Escape rooms until we forget how terrible it feels to leave one which is usually about a year. Hopefully, this business model works out for you. I've done other escape room experiences before, both indoors and outdoors. It's a great concept for a fun event with friends. However, The Escapery takes the experience to a whole new level! They by far have the greatest level of detail in their adventure rooms compared to other companies. The other places I've been to were well crafted, but it still had the feeling that you're in an well dressed up office space. This was not the case at The Escapery. The staff were really into it, the puzzles were well crafted, and even the music and lighting were authentic. I was there for a team building event with my young Kiwanis leadership board. We're a newly formed team and the event at the Escapery was the the perfect way to feel out our individual and group strengths and weaknesses. The staff was super attentive without interrupting the other aspects of our meeting. We were able to use their beautiful game room for our meeting and a delicious meal. The food the Escapery provided was excellent and there was PLENTY of it. I highly recommend The Escapery for a fun event with friends or a great work event to learn more about your team. I'm really looking forward to coming back and completing all of their other adventures. read more

I had the pleasure to participate in both the Destiny and the Ripper within the past 2 weeks. We had the best experience in both escape rooms and the staff could not be any friendlier. The staff is great and the rooms offered different levels of difficulty, but also offered different challenges that allowed us to have a great time while feeling like we were in the world we were trying to solve. We were able to escape at both adventures, but I really enjoyed the amount of thought and effort put into there rooms. We are very eager to participate in anything and everything they will have in the future and look forward to watching them grow. Having participated in several escape rooms across the country, I will say the Escapery is top of my list and they know how to do it right. They have a customer for life and I will strongly recommend them for anyone looking to partake in an escape room adventure. Great people and great rooms! read more

I would highly suggest this place to anyone I know. Let me tell you all the reasons why! I've been contemplating on how should I propose to my girlfriend. I thought of all the basic ways, vineyards, beach, mountains. I thought of something we enjoyed and we liked going to escape rooms. I emailed a few places and no one would accommodate a proposal. I emailed Jessica at The Escapery asking if they would be able and willing to accommodate a proposal. She swiftly replied and said yes they would be excited to do this! I toured the location with Jessica and Kevin the following Monday. Now I have been to a few escape rooms around GA and this one is by far one of then best. You can tell they put their time in to creating a storyline and building a room that fits so well. Their whole team is amazing, I can't wait to go back to complete the other rooms. I absolutely love this place. This is the best thing to do with teens!!! We went as a back to school last minute fun day, but ended up being a brain warm up to get them thinking again. They had so much fun my oldest (17) and most "independent" said she wanted to do another room. We cannot wait to go back. We did the Seance room and was so close to finishing. It is challenging, but we had a good group of another family that helped us. We will definitely be returning. This was my first escape game and I was impressed with the setup, quality, challenges, the overall presentation of the "Indiana jones" adventure. Our group of 7 were between ages 13 to 55 were entertained, stimulated to think and interact as we solved the mystery to escape with few minutes to spare. The staff were sweet and professional. My daughter who has been to few similar games commented that this place was by far the best and well done. Thank you for making my first adventure fun. This was a great experience! The Destiny room was chocked full of very clever and challenging clues and puzzles to solve along a well constructed story line. Everything was high quality and the staff was very helpful. This was a family Christmas gift and our first time in an escape room. Did a room here with my family. Horrible experience. We waited over an hour for them to get the room ready only to find out the room was broken, so we could not even complete the room. Most things in the room didn't work and the room operator had to come into the room fix things multiple times and we didn't gain the lost time back. They refused to give us compensation for their mistakes. The workers were very unprofessional and borderline rude. Overall never booking a room here again. read more

I absolutely loved the escape rooms here at the Escapery. The two rooms they have are Destiny and Ripper. They are both amazing and super realistic. They did a great job with the props. I am 70 years old and did not know if I would enjoy an escape room. But, this is the most fun I have had in a long time. It was challenging, exciting and fun. My wife and I visited The Escapery with my sister and brother in law and we really enjoyed the social interaction while going through the room. We will be back. read more

The Escapery is the second place I've done escape rooms. And is the 5th or 6th one I've done. The staff were really nice! The price was good and they do a public safety discount -which is something a lot of places don't do. All in all it was a lot of fun and I will 100% go again! read more

We celebrated my daughter's 12th birthday at The Escapery and it was AMAZING! Lindsey and her son were so fun and patient and helpful with all of the girls (there were a lot of us), and Lindsey even helped me run carpool! Such a fun birthday party! We will definitely be back! read more

We booked The Silo room and had a great time. There were 5 of us and we were able to solve the room with just a bit of time to spare. This is not a beginner room. It is set up very cleverly and had some intricate problems to get through with multiple steps. We loved it. read more

We had a great time doing Destiny! We made it out with 5 minutes left. Our game master, Josh, was very helpful and we were very impressed with the room. It was a lot of fun and the room was very nicely set up with a lot of cool puzzles. We will definitely be back soon! read more
