We visited Paranoia Quest this past weekend and had an awesome experience. While we didn't make it out of the room (Zombie Apocalypse) in time, it was a very fun/exciting process! Corbin explained everything very well before starting our time, and was really helpful throughout the duration of our experience. This was such a fun escape room. It was my 1st time doing one and I really enjoyed it. The room we did was smaller than what I think of for an escape room but that didn't impact the experience very much. The clues weren't the hardest but they were definitely a little tricky. I loved how the room was themed and the design. The guy who explained it was super awesome and did a great job of getting us excited to do the escape room. We did a team building event here for our leadership holiday party. It is not an easy place to find the entrance too! It's in downtown Atlanta as well, so wouldn't recommend in the evening. You will need to find parking down the street in a parking garage (and yes, you'll need to pay for parking). It's a two story facility. Not much to look at on the inside and I do wish they offered beverages. We did the zombie escape with the lab room, and managed to make it to the final room. It was certainly fun and required brains to solve the puzzles. It was confusing at first with 6 different people trying to figure out best steps. You'll realize pretty quickly it's easier to just go ham and go rogue in some areas. The puzzles weren't super hard but still required some thinking. Well this is my third escape room and I'm embarrassed to say that I still haven't escaped =(. I'm not tripping though, because I will escape one day. As with everywhere I go, I checked out Yelp to peep out the situation: parking because it's downtown, actual location and anything else worth knowing. I saw where most reviews suggested parking in the Underground parking deck in which we did. There was an event sign right outside the lot and two attendants standing at the ticket machine. They advised that it would be $10 and I was confused because I wasn't expecting that at 6:30p on a Friday evening but maybe I'm silly for thinking that. Anywho, we made our payment and made the hike to Paranoia Quest which was about 2 1/2 blocks away. As for the quest itself, I was a part of a group of 4 solving the Murder Mystery escape room. I think I'm just in my feelings about it which is why I'm giving it 4 stars lol. It was very mind juggling and my group of 4, we worked until the very end just to find out that we were still a long ways out with solving the mystery. Some of the things I was like and we were supposed to know that how? But I know it's possible because others have done it. Other than that, we had a marvelous time! LOVE this play was a little tricky at first but once we got everything solved we had so much fun!!!

Came here with my girlfriend and one of her friends for a double date. We made reservations and paid several days in advance and at the time we were told we would be the only ones in the room. The evening of our reservation it was storming so we drove to the area and wanted to see where the place was prior to parking. We drove up and down the dark street several times and eventually noticed the unlit sign but there was a closed roll-up door covering the storefront. We called the business and they were open, they just have 2 doors, the one that is open was on a street that was closed to vehicles that day. Why would you close the only one people can see from the street? Found a nearby parking garage and arrived just in time to check in with our friends joining us a few minutes later. We were told again when we arrived that we would be the only ones in the room however right before we were supposed to begin a group of intoxicated people came in that had just found the place online while they were in a nearby bar. We now had to wait for them to pay, sign waivers, use the restroom and put their stuff away in the lockers. 20 minutes after we were supposed to begin we were instructed to line up shoulder to shoulder and one of the employees came out dressed in army fatigues complete with hat and carrying a rifle and began yelling at us like a drill sergeant. The escape room we had chosen was a prison break scenario, two of us were prior military so to us the whole drill sergeant wearing a hat indoors carrying a gun prison guard charade was sort of silly, over dramatic, and unauthentic. The actual escape room itself was challenging and well thought out but the intoxicated participants hindered the rest of us from completing the mission in time. Without giving away the details too much there are a couple of tasks that require everyone to work together at the same time in order to get to the next step, not possible when people are too busy laughing and playing around with the props in the room. read more

Paranoia Quest is a real-life room escape game that opened Spring 2015 in Downtown Atlanta. These room escape games have really been taking off in metro Atlanta and around the country over the last year or so. Locally, there are places like Mission Escape Atlanta next to Atlantic Station and Ultimate Escape Game Atlanta at Cobb Galleria. At the time of writing this review, I've played "Trapped in a Room With a Zombie" by Room Escape Adventures in Tucker (http://www.yelp.com/biz/room-escape-atlanta-atlanta) and two different rooms at Mystery Room at Sugarloaf Mills in Lawrenceville (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mystery-room-lawrenceville). Compared to Room Escape Adventures and Mystery Room, Paranoia Quest definitely wins in terms of quality of clues, riddles, and puzzles and best of all, props. Room Escape Adventures and Mystery Room utilize a mish-mash of cheap thrift store quality furniture and props. This is not the case at Paranoia Quest where it's evident a lot more money and effort have been invested to create a higher quality game environment. The settings comparatively feel more real. The rooms are solidly built and impressive. A group of four of us bought a Groupon deal (https://www.groupon.com/deals/paranoia-quest) for $58. It was good for all four of us on a weekday. The regular weekday rate is $30 per person and the regular weekend rate is $40 per person. I'm not sure if I would spend that much for Paranoia Quest, but I thought the Groupon deal (a significant savings which worked out to $14.50 per person) was certainly worth it. Each game is 60 minutes. There were two rooms we could choose from: Zombie Apocalypse and Inception. Owner Dmitry told us a third room with a morgue theme is currently under development. We chose the Zombie Apocalypse and were teamed up with two strangers who had also booked the Zombie Apocalypse for the same date/time. I believe groups of up to 10 can tackle each room. While it can be fun to get a big group of friends together, I think going with eight or more could possibly detract from the room escape experience. The rooms actually get more difficult because the clue-gathering and information exchange becomes less efficient. This was our first room escape being teamed up with strangers, but luckily, they were cool and we had great chemistry off the bat. No awkwardness to slow the team down. *** WARNING: MILD SPOILERS AHEAD! *** The Zombie Apocalypse "room" was actually located on the second floor of the facility. I thought it was neat how it was set up. One of the staff told us the fictional back story before the timer started. We had to break into a laboratory filled with dead scientists who tried to find a cure for the zombie outbreak. Once we successfully entered the lab, we had to complete the cure and save humanity. I put "room" in quotes because it wasn't just one room we had to "escape" from, but four! I put "escape" in quotes because we didn't have to escape from a room like a traditional room escape game. Instead, we had to successfully break *into* rooms. I like that concept because it's different. It took us about 30 minutes to get through the first three rooms and almost the entire next 30 minutes to find the cure. (We won!) On the technological side, there are ambient music and sound effects; electronic keypads, scanners, and door locks; Apple computers, a widescreen TV display, and tablet device. There are recordings you have to play which are well acted. As time winds down, smoke even enters the room (it's supposed to be toxic). Custom software was even written for the game, which brings me to my big gripe. The final step to beat the game was to solve a puzzle written on a custom app on a tablet device. We had solved the puzzle correctly, but struggled getting the software on the tablet to work. It ended up glitching out and we would have lost if I hadn't radioed to the staff that the app wasn't working. We struggled with it for a good 5-10 minutes and it was rather annoying. Finally, someone had to come upstairs and check the app. He admitted it wasn't working properly and we had indeed found the cure. He gave us the win. It sort of killed the mood and was anticlimactic. *** END MILD SPOILERS *** As mentioned above, the quality of props and materials is excellent compared to what I've experienced up to this point. There are several electronics and gadgets you have to use to win. It's not just cheap combination lock after cheap combination lock. There are cameras watching your team every step of the way. Your team will be given a walkie-talkie to communicate with staff who are watching from the control room. The staff can give you hints if you request them. They will also chime in if you are touching something you are not supposed to. So be aware, Big Brother is watching. Paranoia Quest is located downtown where it can get sketch at night. Park in the Underground Atlanta pay parking garage at MLK Jr Dr NW and Central Ave SW. We'll be back. read more

Great time ! Mike was wonderful me and my friend did the zombie room and had a blast ! Definitely recommend

I can be picky and try to figure out how to give this a less than perfect rating. Parking is challenging when you're trying to find the ideal closest spot that is in a safe area. There is a lot within viewing distance of the facility. I don't remember where exactly but drive around, find the place, and you will see the parking lot. I was impressed by the novelty (at least to me) of this place. Upon entering, I noticed that it was spacious and clean. We were greeted by the enthusiastic and friendly and accommodating staff. There are some seating areas, lockers, and a banner to take pictures in front of. Our group of 4 dared to try the hard Inception room. I would recommend going with more people for this room since there are several different puzzles and clues the team needs to solve before being able to decipher the code to escape. With the deal we got, it was definitely a perfect experience. It was a great bonding and mentally stimulating experience. We can't wait to come back for more.. perhaps with more people! read more

My partner and I did their hardest room "Zombie Hour". I will say it was a little spooky towards the end, which we loved. We take pride in finding the hardest escape rooms wherever. I will say the previous group to us did the same room, didn't finish but loved it. We did finish and found it great, but didn't love it. Firstly, the facility is nice and the staff was great and we didn't have any problems. A little on the pricier side for Escape venues but I'm guessing because of its location. Only giving 4 stars simply because we had great expectations and were a little disappointed with the room. It was simple despite how overwhelmingly complex the room appears. We kept expecting there to be more. It's difficult to see in this escape room, as an FYI. We personally didn't mind as it adds to the character of the room, but it did make things more difficult if you might have sight problems. Overall, great experience and fun. Would recommend! There's just more things in the room than you ever use/need to solve puzzles and it's not obviously just decor. read more

We called ahead of time and they told us they could that us in without reservation. We paid two Ubers as our group was 8 total. We arrived and we were told that they didn't have any space available for us. So we had to go back. Completely unprofessional and the attitude of the front desk girl was awful. She should not be working in customer service if she doesn't like to work with people in general. We went and did the Witch Hunter escape room on 08/14/20. We were one puzzle away from escaping the room but it's OK we still had a blast! Our game master was freaking awesome! He got into costume and was making us laugh our butts off even though we weren't supposed to laugh. My dumb blonde sister didn't realize we were gonna die if we didn't get done . I cannot wait to go back and have this awesome experience with this guy. The escape room at Paranoia Quest was an awesome experience! We ended up doing the Zombie Apocalypse room which was loads of fun! As soon as you enter, you have to sign an online waiver (if you haven't done so already) and then put your phone and extra things in their lockers. After that, we were entertained by a few puzzles that were at the front desk that consisted of metal rings and ornaments that you had to try and separate to solve. They were a fun 'appetizer' before the real puzzle as we waited for the other guests to arrive! The escape rooms were well set up and challenging enough that they kept you thinking without being really stumped. They also give you a phone to 'phone for help' if needed. I would highly recommend Paranoia Quest for a fun activity with some friends, and I will probably be here again to check out their other rooms! "What was that? I should kill everyone and escape?" -- Suicide Squad (2016) Have I mentioned yet that I'm addicted to these escape rooms? No? Then where have YOU been? Clearly, NOT reading my reviews. My first experience with PQ was not ideal. We were not given the best direction prior to showing up, prior to entering the room and the room itself was not great. This time around the experience was a complete 180. We opted for the Zombie Apocalypse room and having had to call to book (I bought the Groupon and therefore I had to call versus using the website) and I spoke with Zach, so I received lots of instructions from Zach and received a great email the day before with instructions for parking. Also, I received the ability to sign the waiver online for me and my teammates. Parking is relatively painless. While there is some street parking a bit closer, the Underground parking deck at MLK and Pryor is only $4 and certainly safe. PQ is not in the safest part of town. This deck is a 2.5 block walk from PQ, while it is just a block walk from a Marta station. Once we walked into PQ, Steven, our game master, greeted us and showed us to the lockers to put all our stuff away. Once our entire party arrived, he briefed us on our mission and allowed us to ask any questions before starting our 60 minute game clock. ***SPOILERS*** Do not read this if you want to do this room. Unlike most escape rooms, this one starts at the base of a set of stairs. You actually have to start outside of the room and break your way IN. I enjoyed this aspect, mostly because it was different. Also, there is no clock in this room, so you have no idea how much time you have spent or is left - this is somewhat terrifying (especially since no one really wears a watch anymore). There is an announcement with 20 minutes left, but 40 minutes with no knowledge of the time is nerve-wracking. This room is really four rooms - you break in and make your way into a lab where you work to find a cure for the zombie outbreak. Very creative. There is a wide variety of creative puzzles and clues and very different from all other rooms I have done. They send you into the room with a cell phone that is a direct line to your game master for 3 clues that are free - additional clues take 3 minutes off your clock. Also, you don't really escape out of this room - most rooms you open a final door. So when we found the final solution, we didn't really realize it. You are working on an app on an iPad and should be given a sign that you solved the sequence. We didn't realize that we had the solution, so we kept mucking with it. A video began to play on the TV (we later found out that the video meant that we solved the room!), so this was really anti-climactic. Usually you have a code to open a door, in this case we solved the puzzle on the iPad and didn't know it! The software is clearly glitchy. ***END OF SPOILERS*** When we asked for help, both times, they were very much face palm moments for me as we had the answers right in front of us and we were over thinking. Our communication was great and only once were we not communicating well. We did win with only 37 seconds left. All that matters is that we saved the world from the Zombie outbreak! Overall the experience was great and much better than my first time at PQ. As we were getting our photo taken, Dmitri, the manager (maybe owner) was telling us about their birthday special where you can come in on your birthday (I clarified - birthday week with 4 other people) and you will get a free ticket. So, do you know anyone named Taylor Bone? It seems like a pretty uncommon name, right? Imagine my surprise when my friend Dee was acquainted with another Taylor Bone. We knew there could only be one highlander and we decided to have a show down for the rights to keep their names at Paranoia Quest. We split up into two groups of 10 for this showdown. Their customer service has nothing been awesome the entire way through. I booked the Murder Mystery and Infection room (both hard difficulty) for the two teams. The best part was that you could sign the waivers electronically. I arrived a bit late with Taylor B. Bone and the check in process was painless. We just had to wait for a few stragglers and Pontip at the front desk was wonderful and very helpful. One of our team members had gone to the wrong Escape the Room in Midtown and Pontip informed me that they could actually join us a little later once they had arrived. We agreed and we set about on our adventure! Tanya James was our game master and she was very informative. She explained the rules and objective of the game very simply and with emphatic delivery. The puzzles were very well designed and some of the puzzles stood out above the rest. Obviously, not going to spoil it for anyone but Team Taylor B. Bone highly enjoyed Infection. We also got Top 3 placement of all time best finish times! We are now highly successful journalists that uncovered a government cover up with an extraterrestrial virus. Aw yiss. Team Taylor C. Bone unfortunately did not finish. Taylor C. Bone is now known simply as Seat 5 (that's what the waitress referred to him during lunch after their defeat). If you love puzzles and zombies, I would highly recommend checking out Paranoia Quest! I really look forward to some of the rooms they may be adding. This was my first escape room but it definitely won't be my last! It was challenging and fun and it's an awesome way to spend an hour! Price is on par with other escape rooms ($28) but we had a groupon for $20 each which was awesome. As other reviewers mentioned, it is in a supersketchy part of town. We walked from the MARTA station and it was actually scary. Large groups of homeless people (mostly males) congregate along the street and it's very dirty. We got catcalled and approached by panhandlers on the way to the escape room and we were relived when we arrived. I'm glad we were early so we could sit down and decompress for a few minutes once we got there. We chose the Zombie Apocalypse room and our host was Agent Pi. He was really nice and helpful when we needed clues. We didn't escape the room in time but it was still lots of fun! Went for my sons 18th birthday. The kids had a blast in the Zombie Apocalypse and were able to complete it in 50 min! The downtown Atlanta location is a bit shady and you have to pay for parking and walk. We found a $7/day parking lot 1 block up and turn left onto Forsyth and it was the 2nd parking lot on the left. This is definitely a team building experience and requires lots of thinking. TJ was our host and despite having a full house and being by himself, he rocked it! We will definitely do Paranoia Quest again. read more

4 stars = Yay! I'm a fan. I've done a few escape games (Singapore, Portugal, Chattanooga) This was my fourth escape game. Location: It's kind of in a sketchy part of downtown. Give yourself some time to find street parking and walk over. Game: We had 6 people and took the room "Its a dream". The game overall was slightly difficult (some of the items were janky and left us wondering if we did it right); however, Demetri was a wonderful aid! You can call him as many times as you need. The room is well set up. Decor gets 7 out of 10 because I've been to other games where it was much more elaborate than this room. The puzzles were 6 out of 10 because...I can't explain, I don't want to ruin your experience. We had a groupon for this so that was most definitely a PLUS! We had the opportunity to try Paranoia Quest in Atlanta and based on one Murder Mystery room we were able to do, this is a facility. We BARELY escaped and had a ton of fun in the process. We were, as always, walk-ins looking to do a room by ourselves. We were greeted by Justice who was super helpful and did a great in-character introduction to our room. High production value with a creepy, grungy feel and solid puzzle design. When we did have one problem with a puzzle mechanism not working, Justice was quick to jump in and get it working. This room can accommodate any group size, is solvable by a small group or pair, and is mostly family friendly (wouldn't recommend for young children). We would definitely return to try their other rooms. (There is a live zombie option ) Escape Rate: 1/1 We tried four companies in Atlanta and this is one of the two we recommend. PARANOIA QUEST IS AMAZING! I was originally signed up for the Murder Mystery Room, however my friends and I ended up getting there too late to get into the room. However, the ladies there were very accomodating and allowed us to change to the next scheduled Escape Room with no extra charge. We signed up for the Zombie Apocalypse Room and it was absolutely amazing! The puzzles were well thought out and made you think outside of the box. They were difficult but not so much that we couldn't figure them out. I loved it and I'm dying to go back and try the other ones, especially at the new location. Our GM Jamaica was so enthusiastic and helpful and at the end even explained what we missed when we didn't finish the game in time. We parked on the side of the street but if that's full there are several other places to park that are reasonably priced and the location was also surprisingly easy to find. This is a great place to host a fun birthday party or just a get together. Last night I visited this location to celebrate my friends birthday. We had reservations for 6:40pm and even though we were running late due to trying to locate parking closest to the location, they still accommodated us. We did the "zombie" escape. You start the challenge outside of a science lab. You have to find clues and use the clues to unlock the door before the zombie come up the stairs. When you get into the lab, you have to find clues to figure out what happened and how to prevent turning into zombie before your time runs out. This challenge was difficult. My team and I eventually turned into "zombies" because we did not solve the challenge. We had a wonderful time and the real life zombie was a nice touch. It made the task seem to real lol...I will definitely try this again with my kids! read more

[ Tuesday, February 9, 2016 | 7 pm ] | Total Cost per Person | $17.60 (with Groupon deal) | Parking | Street parking or the Underground parking deck at Martin Luther King and Pryor costs $4, and the deck is several blocks away from Paranoia Quest. | "Zombie Apocalypse" Room Experience | My second experience with an escape room was considerably better than my very first. Thanks to a Groupon deal, a group of five of us paid $17.60 per person for the Zombie Apocalypse room at Paranoia Quest (PQ). As others have stated, PQ is located in a very sketchy part of Downtown Atlanta. I didn't want to park at the Underground parking deck for two reasons - it's a paid lot ($4) and I would have had to walk a few blocks alone (in the cold!). Fortunately, my husband was able to drop me off, but he waited until we saw some of my friends walking towards PQ to let me out of the car since there were several homeless people roaming nearby. There is outside "gate" in front of the entrance to PQ, so it took me a moment to realize that was the entrance and it was indeed open. I really appreciated the following about this escape room experience: 1. There was a backstory/background provided before we began. 2. Rules were clearly laid out - no cell phones were allowed in the rooms, and there were "lockers" (but no locks) available for us to store all of our belongings. 3. I actually felt like I contributed to our "escape" experience! Steven, our game master, provided a great backstory regarding our group's escape mission and provided our chosen team captain a handheld device which could be used to call him for clues. Then, we were off to begin our game! *** Begin SPOILER ALERT *** What was unique about this escape room compared to many others is that our goal was to actually to break into a set of rooms instead of find our way out. Unfortunately, this game is not handicap accessible since the group starts at the bottom of a staircase and has to rush up the stairs to begin playing, and there is no elevator access. As we broke into each room, we had to completely shut the door behind us in order to even attempt to enter the next one. I believe that several minutes were wasted because we couldn't figure out why we couldn't get into the next room, and it was only once I made sure the door was completely closed that we were able to move on. (Note: Steven did tell us early on that once we opened a door, we could still go back out the way we came in and the door wouldn't re-lock.) Ultimately, we "solved" the final puzzle - which had to be done on an iPad - but didn't realize it right away because there was a problem with the software. Not cool. We thought we had run out of time, and then we slowly figured out we had saved the world of a potential zombie outbreak when the TV in the room turned on with a news story about our heroism. *** End SPOILER ALERT *** Due to an issue with the final portion necessary to "escape" the room, we didn't immediately realize we were successful. However, it turned out the five of us had escaped in the nick of time with just 37 seconds left (official time of 59:23)! If we hadn't encountered the aforementioned problem, I'm sure our time would have been better. Overall, Paranoia Quest gets 4 stars for providing a creative and well-organized room escape experience. If the issue with the last portion of the experience had not occurred, I may have given 5 stars. Hopefully the issue has been fixed by now (almost 2 months later). Thanks to Steven for being an excellent clue/game master, and to my wonderful group of friends/fellow room escapers! Paranoia Quest: Inception room is probably my least favorite escape room that I've done since the mystery room hype started. I wanted to get the Zombie Apocalypse room, but because this was a last minute decision, the Zombie room ended up being sold out. I opted for the "harder" Inception room instead. The back story is, you are trapped in someone else's dream and you need to escape. Ohhhh...kay. The plot is a bit weak, but that's fine. We were rushed into the room (given the fact that we were ~5 minutes late). When we got in, there was a group of five in there already. They quickly debriefed us, and then we were add it. Here comes the downside of not knowing the entire group -- they don't really work with you when they find new clues. It was also frustrating when you would FIND a clue, and just start working on it, and a teammate would snatch it from your hand and say, "It's okay, I'll just call and ask them how to solve it." What the what. Okay, I'm all for clues if you really need them. However, these were not clues that Paranoia Quest gives you. They are STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS on how to solve the next puzzle. Either get a little more creative with your clues, or don't offer them. While the mystery room I did in MKE did offer clues involuntarily, all of them were actual hints not "Take X from here, and stick it in Y" Second downside -- The walls don't reach the ceiling and you can not only hear what's going on outside, but what's going on in the other room. People outside are pretty loud, and it is very difficult to suspend disbelief when there is so much outside noise. There was no sense of urgency in this room. There is a wall clock, but I didn't even know we only had 4 minutes left when we ended up escaping. I also thought the simulation was done very poorly in the Inception room. Never did I feel like I was trapped in someone's dream. In fact, it just felt like I was in a bar (which was what it was). TLDR; Not Worth. read more

Great fun! And I definitely recommend it. It's a fantastic group activity for a group of friends, or even a family activity! Get there early so you can sign all the necessary paperwork and put your stuff in the lockers. No food or drink in the rooms. Everything with a sticker on it, you can't touch (like computers and chords). One of the "perks" of this game, is that you can ask for help from the staff, if you are really stuck. The clues are pretty good, and well designed, but I have done other games that are most interesting because the clues require logic and math. This one is a bit simpler (which makes it for everyone), but some of the clues are a bit on the "vague" side and you have to ask for help in order to move forward. It's as if it has been designed knowing that you will need to ask for help from the staff. Ideally the game would be complicated enough but still logically simple enough for people to get through it without needing to ask for any help. We did the Zombie Apocalypse room. It was well designed. The escape rooms I had done in the past were usually in one single room. This one had several rooms you had to get through which made it more exciting. I wouldn't recommend it for older folks, we brought my boyfriend's parents (in their 70s), and they had fun (we think), and they participated, but they didn't really 'get it' nor did they understand the concept of the game. We bought a Groupon and we could only go during the weekend, although they were fully booked, they stayed open an extra hour on Sunday just to fit us in. How nice! They said they had parking but we didn't find it. We got a metered spot on the street and it was free because it was Sunday and it was late. The area was super sketchy, so going at night, searching for a spot, and walking to the location, wasn't great fun. The staff was really nice and they made the process fun and exciting. I was disappointed in Paranoia Quest's Zombie Apocalypse game. I would like to address some of the issues I have, but in doing so, I will try to avoid spoiling any part of the game. However, if you want to avoid anything at all, please read just the summary and skip the detail section. -- SUMMARY: Paranoia Quest has great production values but the overall experience is lacking. There are some great ideas in play, but overall, it fails to live up to its potential. -- DETAIL: [Will try to avoid spoilers, but read at your own risk] The Zombie Apocalypse room was not a good experience for me or my group. The room suffers from vague puzzles, odd bottlenecks, and an inability to keep everyone engaged. I will start with the positives. The venue itself is clean, well-prepared, and has great production values. Everything is well done, which makes the frustrating parts of the experience even worse. You can tell there is a lot of time, money, and thought that went into the planning of the room. If you play with a live zombie, he is fun and looks great. His (or her?) movements are believable and there are some fun surprises. The structure of the game is such that you will have multiple opportunities to run into him. I thought he did a great, fun job. Now on to the negative. First, I hope the staff and owner of Paranoia Quest will read this in the spirit of constructive criticism. I'm not trying to be rude, or just run down something they have worked hard on. However, they deserve to hear some feedback to make their game better. I mention this because before we ever started the game, the owner complained bitterly to us about a recent customer who left a bad review. I don't know who he was talking about, but it was really awkward. The main problems with Zombie Apocalypse stems from the design of the puzzles. You will be a part of a large group. There were eight people in ours. However, several of the early puzzles are so cramped and narrow that only one person can view the clues at a time. Space is super tight, so while one or two people look around, the rest of the group just stands there with nothing to do. This is a problem for at least the first half of the game. I spent the first 30 minutes doing nothing because the clues were one-track and there was nothing to be done until it was your turn to view the clues up close. It's unclear where the challenge even begins, actually, Without specific spoilers, you spend a lot of time waiting around while the clock runs down waiting to get to the meat of the game. This improves somewhat near the end, when things are more intricate and there are some cool props like custom apps on an iPad and lots of well-done visuals. This should have been the focus of the game, not the boring bits in the first half. Having said this, though, there are problems even in the well-done areas. Some items are not to be touched (computers, TV's, and other breakables). This is fine, but they are not clearly marked. One person in our group accidentally sat on the computer, because they didn't realize it was a custom case. The markings were not clear enough. Even worse, one clue specifically references the television, even though it has a do not touch sign on it. The clue reads like you need to manipulate the television itself, even though the real action is elsewhere. It's needlessly confusing and people don't know what to do, or how much to burrow around when some technology is interactive and others are off-limits. Overall, this place has some potential. However, they really need to rethink some of their design decisions. We had way more fun at the more low budget Escape Room Atlanta the next day. Paranoia Quest could be a lot better if they tighten up some of their clues and have a more friendly, enthusiastic staff (the fun zombie excluded). read more

A group of four of us came on a weekday evening and we were paired with another couple for the zombie room. The 6 of us arrived 15 minutes early as instructed, and we checked in and signed waivers. There were some puzzles available to play with while we waited. We were then given instructions about the scenario and the goal and given 60 minutes to solve the room(s)/scenario. The puzzles were logical, with great props and a good story progression. Our group was also given a walkie talkie (I think every group is given one) and the game organizers monitored our progress and gave us helpful hints along the way (mostly things like don't touch that it doesn't have any clues, don't climb that you'll hurt yourself, and don't unplug that). Our group solved the room with minutes to spare! It was a fun experience and we immediately started talking about coming back to do the other room! Attended a Yelp Elite event here. It was my first time to an Escape the Room game, so I was extremely stoked. We tried the Dreamscape game room, a murder mystery theme room. The game is well thought out and challenging (last time I checked, the escape rate is only 28%). One hour went by so fast and the entire group stayed engaged the entire time. Needless to say, we missed a couple of key clues and didn't escape - thus trapped in a dream forever and ever.... We also had a chance to speak to Dimitry, the owner, who shared his inspiring story of starting this business.
